After several weeks of procrastination, I can finally announce the next 'Charms tournament, that will once again be taking place on Pokemon Online, which you can download and update from the following link:
http://pokemon-online.eu/
So, without further ado, I will explain the rules.
Each battle will be a 4vs4 Double battle, where each competitor chooses 4 Pokemon from a team of up to 6 to use against the opponent(s.) The tournament is a basic knockout tournament except each match is best 2 out of 3, so you will need to beat each opponent twice to proceed. The last competitor standing will be the champion.
For team building and battling, the following rules must be taken into account:
Species Clause: No two Pokemon with the same National Pokedex number can be used on one team.
Item Clause: No two Pokemon on a team can hold the same item.
Soul Dew Clause: The item Soul Dew is banned from use.
Fair Play Clause: If a player uses Explosion, Self Destruct, Perish Song or Destiny Bond to cause a draw, the user of the respective move loses.
The following Pokemon cannot be used at all:
- Mewtwo
- Mew
- Ho-Oh
- Lugia
- Celebi
- Kyogre
- Groudon
- Rayquaza
- Jirachi
- Deoxys (All Formes)
- Dialga
- Palkia
- Giratina (All Formes)
- Manaphy
- Phione
- Darkrai
- Shaymin (All Formes)
- Arceus (All Formes)
- Victini
- Reshiram
- Zekrom
- Kyurem (All Formes)
- Keldeo (All Formes)
- Meloetta (All Formes)
- Genesect (All Formes)
Note that this means you CAN use the Therian Formes of the Kami Trio.
The following moves cannot be used at all:
- Sky Drop
- Dark Void
So it's basically identical to the Flat Battle Doubles option in the games almost, so if you've played that mode or competed in VGC12 at all, then you already know all this stuff.
Dream World abilities can be used, but only if the Pokemon in question has its Dream World ability available in the games, and the Pokemon isn't banned by the above ban list. A list of all species with available Dream World abilities can be found here:

There will be strict deadlines for each round of the tournament; each round will be given a week to conclude. Any matches that are not finished by the end of each week's deadline will have their winner decided by whichever member was the most active during that week, so inactivity after signing up will see you disqualified very quickly, and your eligibility for future tournaments here will be questioned.
Note that this topic is for sign-ups and queries ONLY. If your post in this topic is not a sign-up post or a question regarding any ruling you are unsure of, your post will be considered SPAM and you will receive an official forum warning for it. This is due to several people who have repeatedly posted in sign-up threads "showing interest" in our events and then decided not to sign up, which is effectively equivalent to SPAM.
Sign-ups will be open for just under 2 months, ending on December 20th 2012. If you'd like to compete, please make sure you have signed up by then. As stated, if you sign up and then no-show the event at Round 1, then you will likely be barred from future tournaments here for a duration.
One final thing: when you sign up, just post here saying you'd like to sign up. You don't have to post your team members or anything like that, just post saying you wish to compete and you're in.
SIGN-UPS:
- LoN
- Linkachu
- Shocari
- Dinova2
- Teapot
- Luckii
