[Almas Rei]

The scratch attack had hit, but it didn't seem to do too much to the Chespin as it had gotten back up and ready. Chimchar seems to have the advantage in speed, but that Chespin has better defence. He thought for a moment. As he was thinking, Quint seemed to have remembered something and gave his pokemon the next command. "Hey Chespin! Use vines to slow down that monkey!" After he had said that, the small Chespin used two vines that grew out from its back to grab onto Chimchar's feet. The vines reached Chimchar's feet and took hold of them, not letting it go, while the Chespin charged in for another tackle. Chimchar's scratch should be enough to get rid of the vines, but then there wouldn't be time to completely dodge the tackle. Thinking about this, Almas gave out the next commands.

"Chimchar, use scratch to get rid of the vines! We can't avoid that tackle, but try to get out of the way of those spines!"

Hearing this, the chimp pokemon readied it's hands and scratched at the vines. The vines were soon torn and unable to hold him, but the charging Chespin was too close to avoid. Remembering what he was told, he ducked down slightly to avoid the spines and braced for the attack as best he could. The tackle hit its mark and Chimchar was sent rolling backwards a bit. Getting up after he stopped rolling, there some signs of visible damage on the pokemon but he had avoided more damage since he had avoided the spines. We avoided the worst, but we still took some damage. Let's see if we can try getting through his defense. He thought as he came up with his next plan. "Alright Chimchar, use leer while running up to Chespin. Follow that up with scratch!" The chimp pokemon took action at those words, readying itself then dashing towards Chespin. While running towards the opponent in front of him, he gave a glaring look towards him. When he was just in front of the spiny pokemon, he had his scratch ready and brought it up into an uppercut towards him.

The plan worked! He got the tackle off, which was great! Maybe not full power, but it still was enough for Quint to do a fist pump at his small victory...which quickly turned sour as the leer hit. The leer caused him to become unnerved and temporarily drop his guard. It got worse as the Chimchar got the scratch off as well, doing quite some damage to the little spiny dude.

Watching the Chespin falling back from the hit and stumbling, Quint realized he in all likeahold should've payed closer attention to the fight rather than prematurely celebrate.

Despite being pretty damaged, it still stood semi-strong. It would probably take two hits to take him down now, but in the case the chimp got lucky, or strategic, he could possibly take it down in one.

But Quint was ready to lay down commands. "Alright, Chespin, Tackle at full force!"

The chipmunk charged at the monkey at full force and speed, which wasn't exactly quite as fast as the Chimchar, but still would require quick thinking.

The leer and scratch combination had worked. With the little chimps strike, the Chespin was sent falling back. Chimchar started smiling a little at it's attack landing, only before seeing that the spiny, green pokemon got back up. It was hurt because of the attacks hitting, but still had the ability to battle. It wasn't long before Quint had given his next command, "Alright, Chespin, Tackle at full force!" The Chespin started charging towards Chimchar at a speed that was slightly faster then before. Quick action was needed for this, so Almas gave his next commands. "You have to dodge this, Chimchar!" he said to his partner. Chimchar heard the command, but reacted slightly late. It had just begun jumping backwards when the Chespins tackle hit, sending it backwards onto the ground.

Seeing his partner get sent back onto the ground, Almas started to think of ways to treat it if it had lost. I don't have any berries on hand yet, but the profesors lab should have a medical machine for pokemon. In the case that there's no machine, I'll use one of the potions and bring it to the nearest center. In the middle of his train of thought, Chimchar started standing back up. It was easy to see that he was tired, but he still showed that he could continue. Seeing this, Almas smiled as he looked at the fiery little chimp. It doesn't look like Chimchar could take another one of those hits, so the next attack had to count. "Chimchar, give it another leer attack and charge towards it. Then give it another scratch attack, with all you've got!" Chimchar gave the meanest glare it could make towards the Chespin before taking off at full speed. Faster then he was before, he reached the spiny pokemon in front of him in no time. Readying both of his hands, he swung them down with all the force he had towards the opponent.
