Open Hoenn Contest Extravaganza!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Pokémon!
And Lilycove City in the Hoenn region!

Following innovations of the Pokémon Showcases in Kalos and Action Contests in Galar, and Super Contests in Sinnoh, the original home of Contests in Hoenn is returning with its answer for its second year after the roaring success of the inaugural circuit.

Adopting the spectacle of Showcases, the initial performance stages are meant to display the depth of a Coordinator and Pokémon's bond and gather Appeal from our judges. While the holographic technology developed in Galar provide the stages for the regular Double Battles, Free-For-Alls, Team tournaments, and other formats for Coordinators and Pokémon display their true elegance and strength before reaching the one-on-one final. Each stage promises something new. And, as always, moxie and style, execution and power, determine the points subtracted from the opponent's total. Winning requires reducing the opponent's points to zero or having more points when the timer runs out.

Gathering five ribbons qualifies the Coordinator for the Grand Festival in Slateport city. With the excitement surrounding Hoenn's Contests reaching regions as diverse as Almia and Orre, the competition promises to be even fiercer this second year.

Ahheeem! Before we begin, Bibian 'Beebee' Meridian, Master of Ceremonies, here to introduce the boring but necessary rules all Coordinators should follow!”
RULES:
1.) Obey Pokémon Roleplay Forum & wider Pokecharms Forum rules.
2.) Mega Evolution is restricted by mod approval, while Dynamax require the energies native to Galar, Z-Crystals and Z-Rings only require a background of participating in the Alolan island challenge.
3.) Original Characters. But if you'd like to be the adoptive child of Jessie and James that was left at their Meowth-shaped balloon by Cynthia then its up to you write that story!
4.) Pokémon are restricted to using 6 Moves effectively at any one time. But can be changed with the appropriate training between Contests. Those on the level up list are easier to train than TM moves which may require additional investment, specialized knowledge, or outside instructors. Re-training 'forgotten moves' only requires practice. No more than a combined total of 3 TM & Egg Moves with Max 1 Egg Move per Pokémon.
5.) You have 7 Evolutionary Stages to spend on your starting team. An Aggron costs 3 (Aron → Lairon → Aggron), a Vespiquen costs 2 (Combee → Vesipquen), A Wurmple cost 1, single-staged Pokémon like Mawile or Lapras cost 2. No Legendaries or Fakemon. Don't be afraid to go outside the region dexes. The world of Pokémon is a living world where strange things happen every day!
6.) Pokémon power-levels aren't as fixed as in the games, following closer to Anime-logic. With proper support and training even Pikachus are rumored to be able to beat Rhydons with Electric-type moves.* Target the horn! *Type advantages/disadvantages/immunities still apply.
7.) Be descriptive when writing IC posts. It helps your fellow roleplayers' characters react when they are writing their responses and keeps the flow going. And Contests are all about showing off Pokémon at their best!
8.) Since Player vs. Player is practically guaranteed to occur, remember to be respectful when interacting with each other. Keep in mind that losing is not the end here, and can be an opportunity for character growth and friendly rivalries to form. Players involved can either agree the outcome between themselves, or can ask me to do so (in which case my judgment will be the final word and I will brook no argument).
9.) Praise Helix.

“Following them should be as easy as beating a splashing Magikarp on land! Unless there are any questions, please hand in the documents you used to sign up in exchange for your ID Cards. Guidebooks are available to download into your Rotom Phones and Dexes. One at a time please! My autographs are signed later today in the lobby!”

FAQ:
What are Holographic Stages?: Originating from the Galar region, the holographic stages construct lifelike representation of an environment using solid vision with mass. Complexity of the field, from floating geometric shapes, to an opulent castle surrounded by water is determined by the type of projector is used. Pokémon moves are able to interact with and even alter the holographic matter.
Are Holographic Stages Safe?: Safety measures are in place to protect both Coordinators and Pokémon from permanent harm. The matter's properties can also be tuned to produce a 'bouncy' effect to catch falls among other possible settings. The Hoenn Contest Circuit employs a team of Porygons and Rotom drones to provide instantaneous responses to any dangers beyond the safety limit.
Can you eat Solid Vision with Mass?: No. They have no sustenance value.
How many Pokémon are used in a Contest: Traditionally, the answer is up to three. One for the introduction stage, then two for the Double Battle. Although a Pokémon can used for both categories without issue. With the inclusion of a more varied selection of performance stages and battling styles, this number can vary. But two unique Pokémon is the minimum a Coordinator will need to participate in nearly all categories.

Credit goes to @PyroGaleZX for the idea of combining Yu-Gi-Oh's Action Duels with Pokémon Contests into Action Contests. Can only hope to make their concept justice.

I'll be here to answer any questions.

Edit: Changes to how TM & Egg moves are chosen.
