Your basically saying you want it too go as the same for series just with a twist to the test they did in the series?
No, I'm saying I want the same format. As in, an endurance test, but not necessarily the running exam. A basic skill test, but not necessarily the foggy forest chase, etc. I just want them to be different than the original ones, but each exam to take place in roughly the same order.

Besides the rule you cant be a Specialist from the start this is accepted, I just don't want someone having control of all the nen types from the start it just isn't right

So for the test here's what I came up with:
A physical exam - To test a participants agility, endurance, strength, and how good their senses are (even your 6th sense)
Getting through trick tower from where your put in. You will be told all the rules but not the last 1 being able to break through. You will only have 6 hours to get through to the bottom. Also a few traps here and there just to let you know. Maybe even a person from the assassin family with a friend who is there to calm him down if things get too crazy.
Intellectual Acuity - This test how focused they are, flexibility, judgement skills, and overall creativity.
A written exam of the following questions:
1)Who led you to this area, what is his or her name? Give a brief summary of their appearance. (Answer LeOreo, a dude with glasses always wearing a suit and tie according to Gon)
2)What led you to take this exam? (Your reason here)
3) What has 2 hands and cannot clap? (The disable or a clock
4) A man was up a ladder and fell down, how did he not get hurt? (He was on the 1st 2 steps of the ladder)
5) If you had a power and could choose it what would it be and why? (Your explanation here)
[Questions 3 and 4 can be answered with people everything else is on your own]
This mostly based on your creativity and judgement so all you need to pass is a 3/5 but I bet most people will pass.
Your Impression - The impact you have on other, the stuff people see in you when your 1st seen with no recognition.
Basically how they judge you.
All that is what I've planned my finally opinion 3 stages so doesn't take too long but it's not too short. Imma just say everyone is at the exam and we can cut the chase and start it off. Character interactions will happen during the test so you can help each other out and such. Now if we can all agree this isn't perfect but it'll work I'll make the actual RP and we can begin.

Wait isn't specialist the ability to have a completely unique ability that isn't limited to the other 5 nen types?
I have to agree with the notion this feels more like an intellect or mental test than a pure physical one. Maybe it can be they have to scale up a tower or something? Though like the run through the tunnel the tower can be quite tall and seemingly has no end to it to add that physical and mental toll that worked for the canon exam.
Maybe there could be a trap or two you have to be mindful of.

Lemme use Google real quick cause I'm pretty much taking on a mental task of seeing what it means again, now I understand. It neither a nen type or considered a class on it's own yet it is. I'll basically describe it how I did before unless your going to keep your the stats the way they are and gradually build them in that case I will accept. Now I'mma stop being formal because that isn't the type of person I am lol. But I mean yes its unique to all nen types and completely on its own so we don't have much info on it.

Anyways Ik I just dont want it to be my idea alone I want it to be a combined effort/I'm blanking on ideas so it helps. Actually how bout this: Killua will be controlling traps will his nen causing lightning to shock you where traps should be and if your unlike you have to get past him but he won't use nen

Pretty much yeah, it's kinda hard juggling stuff like but yeah it's what I meant.
Cause looking at Kurapika he was op when he was a Specialist so I wanna give everyone a fair chance with nen when we get there
Killua could probably kill most beginning hunters even without Nen. He is a natural assassin XD.
So Gon and company would be working not taking the exam in this AU?

I wanna make it so its like a few years later and that Gon and friends have joined the Hunter Exam to test people. Also how bout this if Killua goes assassin mode just before he does Gon is like: "*Insert cool looking anime face here* Killua... It's ok." Like when Gon was taking the NLG test and almost killed Morrel
For intellelectual test, how about riddle? Like trapped in a room with limited tools or looking for a treasure using a non sensical map. I think the intelectual test above looks more like a job interview or personality test.

Not too hard with multiple solutions, probably.
I think the case with Kurapika is that his specialist ability is pretty OP, there's also that Spider troop lady with the memory gun, she's dangerous but the ability's probably not overly powerful in a fight unless it hits

I'm thinking of action riddles, like those point and click games. But word riddles might work too, now we can add a yellow troll that jumped at you and blocking you from passing the bridge. XD

I'm assuming you'll be going with a unique ability then.
In light of this, I'd highly suggest you heavily analyze the other five sections before creating said ability. Because if its earliest stage/weakest form overlaps with any of the other nen types, ima be calling it out. XD

I've finally come up with something for the exam and feel like we can start.
Physical exam - Follow LeOREEOOOOOOS where ever he goes until he stops at the next exam site. Use what ever means necessary but you can't hurt people until a certain amount of time has passed and when it has there will also be false paths to follow to trick you. Some may even lead to death.
Intellectual Exam - Your stuck in a room and told to escape it, there are no doors, windows, buttons, or levers. (Rearrange the room to show an exit in the floot)
Overall Judgement - Self explanatory
I think I did it, I was creative for once and this might work. Now if most of us can agree we can start xd

Based on what I read on wiki. Specialist is like nen type that isn't included in other type. This doesn't mean specialist is stronger, they're just not as common as another type so the guy who categorize them said "screw this! Let's just lump them together and call them specialist."

Yeah, kinda as Spoiled Bread stated. Specialist is just that, a nen user who's abilities don't fall into any of the five main categories. An example would be one character (who appears a good bit down the line) who can materialise distant objects into his hands.
Anyways, I'm cool with the testing.
