At last. The long trip had been worth it.
With a chuckle, Henry Ingram walked out into the open underground area. His emerald green eyes quickly scanned through the applicants, his sharp brown hair shaking a bit as he walked. So all of these kids are going to be joining me in the exam? Henry smiled. It'll be interesting to see what they're like.
In his mind, however, Henry had a completely different picture. A mental scenario was playing out in his overactive imagination, right out of a comic book.
The pair of criminals surrounded the two elderly couple, weapons in hand. One pointed a knife towards the pair. "Hand it over, yo."
"P-please, this diamond is one-of-a-kind! We have to get it to where the public can have it-" The old man was suddenly pushed to the side by the other robber.
"You deaf or somethin'? Hand it over, he said!"
"Not so fast, scum!"
The two robbers looked back. Standing atop a nearby pole was a tall figure wearing an elegant brown cloak. "What the-?! Dat's...! Dat's Sandhawk!" one of the robbers said in blind panic, taking a step back.
"That cloak of his... people say it can catch bullets, and move like a whip!" the other robber croaked out.
"Indeed, it is I, Sandhawk! The legendary hero! Now are you going to stand around and gawk, or are you going to surrender?"
"How about option three, jackass?" the second robber said, pulling a gun out and firing on Sandhawk. Quickly, the cloak fluttered and shifted into several points, quickly catching the three bullets and letting them fall harmlessly to the ground. "I-I don't believe it! What kinda crazy Nen does this guy have?!"
"I'll say it again, are you going to surrender? Because you've got no chance of beating me, and there's no way I'm going to let you escape." Sandhawk smiled, the points changing back into the cloak.
That's when Henry accidentally stepped on a pebble. Opening his eyes for a moment, Henry snapped out of his fantasy, stumbling forwards. He quickly regained his balance, fortunately not causing enough of a scene for most people to notice.
Sandhawk won't get the chance to exist if I don't make it past this thing. That's why I've got to put my all into it! Henry thought, pumping his fist.
Glancing around, Henry took a look for other people he might find interesting. His eyes locked onto a knife being tossed up and down, and connected to that knife was a light hand. His eyes followed the hand up the arm and to the white top before he locked eyes on the freckle-faced girl, her blonde hair and her emerald green eyes.
Eyes just like mine, huh?
Henry nonchalently walked over to her, leaning against the wall. "You here for the test, too?" he asked, attempting to make light conversation. Though not aware of it, his mere posture gave away his ego.
