Johto: Travel and Battle

Zeypher dashed into the Pokecenter, panting and wheezing. He spotted the girl from earlier, and slowly made his way over to her, huffing and puffing.

"Where......did you find......that Eevee?" Zeypher was taking big gulps of air every other word. He hadn't sprinted that far in a very long time.

"It was playing with my Umbreon," Dakota grumbled towards the other trainer. She kept glancing back at her Umbreon and she frowned. She felt bad for her dark pokemon. Umbreon made a whining type noise as she watched them work on Milo. Dakota sighed and rubbed her temples. Drama, drama, drama was all she was thinking.

Zeypher sighed. Playing with another trainer's Pokemon without giving him a heads up. That was Milo alright. He took a closer look at his injured Pokemon.

Zeypher sighed. "He'll be alright. He's been through worse." He turned back to the girl. "Thank you. Really. Milo runs off all the time, but this is the first time this has happened. I might not have found him...." Zeypher shifted his weight from foot to foot.

"I, uh, never really properly apologized for what happened earlier..." He held out his hand for a handshake "My name's Zeypher, and I really am sorry for all the trouble I've caused you."

Dakota hesitated but shook his hand lightly. "I'm Dakota, and it's fine." She said blankly. She swiped her hand away and stuffed them in her jacket. Her green gaze hit the floor as she thought. Umbreon kept her red gaze on Milo.

Zeypher awkwardly stood beside Dakota, watching Nurse Joy work on his little friend. He cleared his throat.

"So, uh......" Zeypher glanced at Dakota then to her Umbreon, "are you a fan of Eeveelutions?"

"Yes, I have another Eevee but she's with a few other Pokemon I have." Dakota said quietly. The anti-social trainer kicked at the ground. Umbreon blocked everyone out. She kept her eyes on Milo and would glare at any of the nurses if she thought they were causing harm.

The strength portion was nearly over. Platinum's large and tough Mamoswine was bashing the over pokemon far from him as he fought for a spot in the ring. This task, was that there were many rings placed on the field, small and large. The smaller the ring, the more points you received. Platinum had been swiftly giving the large Mamoswine commands, and it was like they were in perfect sync.

By the end of the Strength event, Platinum was again placed first place. The announcer then had all 4 participants line up infront of their 3 chosen pokemon, as that was the last event of the Supreme Cup. He was now giving final scores as the crowd was dead silent, intent on hearing every word of their favorite celebrities' scores. At the end on the score announcing, it surely was close, but Platinum's face was shown on the jumbo screen, winning with 500 Points, the crowd went insanely loud in cheering as the Announcer brought the boy and his Milotic on to the stage, and rewarded the white haired Top Pokeathlete with a ribbon, which was put on his sweat-jacket jersey, and a pure golden large cup, 'Platinum - Top Pokeathlete - Supreme Cup Winner' engraved on the bottom template.

Platinum held up the cup to the crowd and smiled, as the victory music played and multicolored streams and confetti fell down around the stage and the audience.

--

After signing autographs, taking pictures, meeting fans, and getting changed back into his street clothes, Platinum left the Pokeathelon dome, and appeared walking into a Pokemon Center, a Glaceon at his side. He noticed a couple of trainers at the counter, and an Umbreon looking past them to a seemingly injured Eevee.

"Glacé, Glacé, Eee." The boy's Glaceon looked up to her trainer and slightly nudged his legs after seeing the two other Eevee family pokemon.

Platinum smiled down to her and stopped behind the red headed and boy trainer, assuming there was a line.

Feeling that perhaps Dakota was a bit uncomfortable talking to him, Zeypher left a parting comment before letting the conversation drop.

"Well, if you ever need any help, want to battle, or just need someone to talk to, gimmie a call. I owe you that much at least." Zeypher finished writing his phone number down on a slip of paper, handing it to Dakota before she could protest. "You don't have to use it, just keep it with you."

Nurse Joy walked over to the counter with a very groggy Milo, the left side of his head bandaged up, and began to hand him back to Dakota, assuming he was hers.

Jacob coughed into his hand. He supposed he had not completely recovered quite yet. He had been sick for the past two weeks, which had forced him to return home early from the Kalos region. He had won only a few badges before he was forced back to Unova, where he grew up. By the time he was well enough to return, it was too late. So, Jacob decided he would go to another region, where he could start a new journey. Johto seemed to be just the place.

Oshawott walked alongside Jacob. He had not been feeling well while Jacob was sick, but now he had completely recovered. Knowing that Jacob was still feeling ill, Oshawott had opted to walk, rather than hanging off his trainer. Jacob dropped his hand into his pocket. He had decided to take the pokemon he had caught from Kalos with him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t looking to catch some new friends.

Jacob stopped for a moment and looked behind him. Cherrygrove City grew smaller and smaller in the distance. He and Oshawott turned back around, and continued walking towards Violet City.

The Umbren limped in and whimpered slightly.

Most of his side was covered in deep gashes and little Sparky's were shooting off of him as he staggered around for a little while trying to make his way over too Dakota and her Umbreon.

He manged to crawl over and then laid down out at her feet whimpering as he tried not to move.

Dakota took Eevee and awkwardly handed it back to his trainer. She stuffed the paper somewhere into her bag. She noticed the Umbreon stranger again and sighed. She picked him up, whether he liked it or not and handed him to Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy gave a 'are you serious look?' before proceeding to take care of the dark eeveelution. Dakota's Umbreon sniffed Milo quickly before realizing he would be fine.

The red-head noticed Platinum and moved out of the way. She saw a few confetti strands in his hair. He must've won, she thought. Dakota went over and sat down at one of the couches, her Umbreon silently followed after her.

Platinum nodded, thanking Dakota as she allowed him to pass through. Platinum noticed Nurse Joy currently taking care of the Umbreon, which his Glaceon was fixed on constantly watching.

Platinum took out the three Pokeballs that contained Milotic, Altaria, and Mamoswine - the three Pokemon he used in the Supremr Cup, who he figured were probably exhausted. He placed them on the counter, nodding to Nurse Joy, and moved to one of the couches as well. He ran hand through his hair, and felt a few pieces of confetti in his hair, laughing a bit and watched them drift to the floor as he removed them from his hair.

Scratching Milo behind the ear, Zeypher turned to leave the Pokecenter, then realized he didn't know where he was. He had just taken off after Dakota when he realized she had picked up Milo. He turned to ask Dakota what town they were in, but thought better of it and left the Pokecenter. As soon as he left the Pokecenter he walked into the nearest expanse of forest, opting to distance himself from all of the confusion and drama.

The Umbreon yelped loudly as one of the nurses gave him a shot right in the side.

She then cleaned out his cuts, and procceeded to put a few bandages on them.

She then gave him another shot, this time it didn't hurt at all, it made him feel extremely numb.

She then promptly picked him up off of the table and set him back on the ground.

Thinking he was fine now he tried to jog out the door, only to trip over his own paws and fall right in front of the Glaceon.

He blushed slightly in frustration as he tried to right him self but kept on slipping on the slippery tile floor.

Umbreon laid at Dakota's feet. Dakota slowly closed her green eyes and slightly dozed off. She was still alert. Umbreon sighed and closed her eyes as well, very tired from worrying herself about Milo too much. Dakota suddenly opened her eyes then huffed. She pulled out her map of the region and began trying to figure out where to go next.

After walking into the woods for about forty-five minutes, Zeypher sighed and sat on a large fallen tree, swinging around his backpack to fetch his water bottle. As he was taking a long gulp of water, he felt his backpack moving. Curious, he set down his drink and peered into his bag. Amid shattered pieces of eggshell lay a little Natu, asleep and dreaming, kicking out its legs from time to time. With a smile, he picked the little bird up, zipped his bag shut, then continued his trek into the woods.

The Glaceon laid curled up at Platinum's feet, cleaning her arms. Her diamond like tail almost fully wrapped around her body. She then noticed an Umbreon, but not the sleeping one that layed asleep across from her, that slipped infront of her.

"Glaa?" The Glaceon spoke, blinking curiously at the Umbreon.

Platinum, as friendly and unshy as he was, leaned a bit forward to Dakota, who was examining her map on the couch across from him, and spoke to her.

"You know, Lake of Rage seems interesting. Some of my friends has told me about it, and although I've never been, I've heard of the many Gyrados there, and the raging red Gyrados. Also, Olivine City is a really great place, if you are looking for a new place to visit. They have the Battle Frontier there, where many trainers come to battle against eachother. I was going to head there as well?" He offered, quite bored himself.

Umbreon opened a eye and watched the two other evolutions. She flicked her ears and re-closed her eye. Dakota raised a eyebrow at the other trainer. "Battle Frontier eh?" She said quietly. She hasn't battled anyone in awhile. Right as she said 'battle' her Umbreon quickly got up and leaped on her. "Um! Um! Um!" She talked fast and loudly. Dakota sighed, "No choice now I guess." She mumbled and scanned the map before putting it back in her bag and standing up.

Glaceon slightly flinched as the, who she thought was sleeping, Umbreon sprung up awake and began barking. But she as well stood as Platinum did, smiling.

"Awesome, would you mind if I joined you? They have many double battle options, and I haven't done too much battling lately and I don't want to get too rusty." He asked.

The white haired boy's idea seemed to be great to Glaceon, as excitement overtook her as well and she began barking happily.

Dakota glanced at the other trainer. "Sure," she said blankly. Umbreon pressed behind her legs, trying to make her go forward. "I'm going!" The red-head snapped at her dark pokemon who just smirked in reply. Dakota sighed and put her hands in her pockets before walking out of the center.

Platinum smiled.

"Awesome, thanks." He replied, heading over to the counter as Nurse Joy gave him back his new and refreshed Pokemon in their pokeballs.

Platinum made them smaller before placing them back under his hoodie on his pokebelt. He then caught up with Dakota, following her out of the center.

"I'm Platinum, by the way." He introduced himself. "This here is my Glaceon." He said looking down to the blue Eeveelution.

Glaceon did a small little hop and cheerfully barked her name in a greeting.

Umbreon barked happily as he slid around the floor.

He managed to stand up shakily, and he smiled at the Glaceon shyly.

Then he realized that neither of them was going to bring him...

He then started shaking as he walked out of the pokemon center, tail between his legs...

"My name is Dakota," the red-head introduced. "And this is Umbreon, wait..." she did a abrupt stop. "Don't you want Pidgeot and Absol fighting by your side Umbreon?" Umbreon made a 'oh right' face and took back off into the center. "I'll be right back," Dakota said before chasing after her dark eeveelution.

Zeypher turned around, taking in his surroundings. He cursed under his breath and plopped to the ground, pushing his hair back in exasperation. He was completely lost.

"I should have taken the main route. Screw the extra training, this shit isn't worth it."

He had been walking west for hours, and had already passed the National Park. But now he had no clue where he was. And his outdated map didn't help. He threw the map to the ground disgusted with himself for not bothering to get a new one. Meanwhile, his newly hatched Natu, Xavier, hopped about on the ground, scrutinizing every little twig and leaf, before declaring it either safe or dangerous.

"Too bad you're too young to fly yet. I bet you could get us out of here." He laughed as Xavier struggled to use its psychic powers to lift a pebble. Exhausted, the little bird hopped over to Zeypher, making his way methodically to Zeypher's hair, where he lay down to nap, puffing up ever so slightly with each breath.

Zeypher got up. He figured that if he just kept walking westward he would have to reach a coastline. And if he found a coastline, he might find people. Or people might find him. He sighed. It was a long shot, but it was all he had. Once again, Zeypher set off into the woods.

Platinum lightly laughed as Dakota realized she forgot her pokemon back at the center, in which he almost did himself. He stood there with his hands in his pockets, admiring the view around him, until he saw a few people across the street beginning to point at him and whisper, taking pictures.

Uncomfortabe, he followed after the red head into the Pokecenter.

(Just to let you know that ubreon left the pokemon center)
Umbreon barked happily as he slid around the floor.

He managed to stand up shakily, and he smiled at the Glaceon shyly.

Then he realized that neither of them was going to bring him...

He then started shaking as he walked out of the pokemon center, tail between his legs...

He watched as he sulked out towards the outskirts of town.

It's not like they would even think about me he thought, and no one has even tried to catch me. He thought angerliy. He he was holding back tears as the bandages started to unravel.

He didn't care about the tears any more as he walked head down.

Jacob looked ahead. He and Osahwott had been walking for a few hours now, and the sun was beginning to disappear. The route to Violet City was not very long, and Jacob expected to reach the city before the next morning. As he thought about the rest of this trip, he saw a figure down the road. And then another, and another. There were three of them. As Jacob approached, he could see the three men in a circle, all laughing loudly at something. As Jacob got closer, he could see them surrounding a pokemon. As Jacob passed them, he listened in.

“I know right!” one of them laughed. “Look! Look! It’s trying to use razor leaf!” Jacob stopped, and walked closer to see what was happening. As he did, one of the men gave him a look, but turned back around. In the center of the three men was a Chikorita with dirt on its feet, and breathing heavily. It swung the leaf on its head, failing to send an attack forward, and provoking another round of laughter.

“That’s horrible,” Jacob said under his breath, before turning away. One of the men grabbed him from behind.

“What did you say?” one of the men asked, angrily. Jacob turned and faced the man.

“I just don’t understand why someone would treat their first pokemon that way,” Jacob replied. One of the other men responded.

“Well, it wasn’t my first pokemon,” he chuckled, and the others around him smiled. “Or, I suppose Chikorita is officially. But really, who would chose Chikorita if they had a choice?” At that the men started laughing again. Jacob turned around and faced the men once again.

“You’re all disgusting, and you should return Chikorita to Little Root immediately.”

“Look, man; it’s not any of your business. Just get out of here.” At this, Oshawott angrily dropped to the ground, shouting at the men. Jacob stood beside his pokemon.

“How about you bring Chikorita back now!” Jacob said. One of the men stepped forward.

“How about you bite me?” the man replied, reaching for his waste. Pulling out a pokeball, he pointed it towards Jacob. When Jacob did not respond, the man dropped it to the ground, and in a flash of red, an Ursaring appeared. The large bear pokemon stepped forward, shaking the ground.

“Oshawott, you ready?” Jacob asked. Oshawott nodded, as Ursaring moved forward.

“Ursaring, use hammer arm!” Ursaring slammed its arm on the ground, but Oshawott stepped to the side, dodging the attack. Ursaring tried again, but again Oshawott moved to safety. “Come on, Ursaring, get him!” Ursaring attacked again, but once more, Oshawott dodged the attack. The target was too small.

“Oshawott, use water gun.” Oshawott fired a beam of water that hit Ursaring, sending the bear pokemon stumbling backwards. “Now, use razor shell!” Oshawott swung its conch shell, hitting Ursaring and sending the pokemon falling to the ground. Stunned, the man was forced to respond.

“Ursaring, stop playing around! Use slash!” Ursaring stood, and its claw glowed white as it swung forward.

“Oshawott dodge with water jet!”Oshawott became encased in water, and shot forward dodging the attack. Oshawott swung around at flew forwards, smashing into Ursaring from behind. “Perfect, Oshawott, now use water pulse!” Oshawott fired a ball of water forward, which quickly enveloped Urasing’s head. The water vibrated quickly, before dropping to the ground. Ursaring, stepped forward, but was confused, and slipped falling to the ground.

“Ursaring!” The man yelled, a surprised look on his face. He recalled his pokemon before turning away. “This doesn’t mean anything!” The man yelled angrily, recalling Chikorita as he spoke. “Chikorita is my pokemon,” he said defiantly, as he and his friends turned to leave. Jacob shook his head as he watched them leave. But he couldn’t do anything about it; after all, he was not about to steal the pokemon.

Dakota switched Growlithe and Togepi out for Pidgeot and Absol. She waited patiently at the PC. Umbreon realized they were missing someone, which that other someone was Umbreon. She left the pokemon center and scented him out. "Um! Umbre!" She called to him as she trotted over to the wild Umbreon.

He sighed quietly as he heard her come over.

He replied sadly with a few taciturn barks.

His tail thumped a little.

He still knew that even though all they had been through he was still a stray to Dakota.

Jacob and Oshawott continued walking down the road. He couldn’t get the thoughts about that poor Chikorita out of his head, but he continued towards Violet City nonetheless. He could tell that Oshawott was thinking about it as well.

“Don’t worry,” Jacob said. “I’m sure Chikorita will be fine.” As Jacob reassured Oshawott, his eye caught something up ahead. Oshawott, jumped to the ground, and ran towards it. Jacob followed. As they approached, Jacob could tell it was a pokemon this time. A Ledyba, lying on the ground. The pokemon appeared to be injured, struggling to move as Jacob and Oshawott approached.

“Osha, Oshawott Oshawott,” the pokemon spoke to Ledyba. Ledyba replied, and Oshawott turned to Jacob, telling him everything the bug type said. Apparently another pokemon had done this to Ledyba. Jacob sat on the ground beside the ladybug pokemon. Pulling out a potion, he healed the pokemon as he said “Please, take us to whomever did this to you.” Now able to move the pokemon nodded, and flew off slow enough so that Jacob and Oshawott could follow.

They followed Ledyba to a small clearing in the nearby trees, where two pokemon were battling. An Ariados was facing down an injured Hoothoot. Jacob watched as the Ariados fired a string shot attack at Hoothoot, wrapping it in white silk, forcing to the pokemon to fall to the ground, unable to move. The Ariados happily flexed its muscles before turning to Ledyba, preparing to attack.

“Ready, Oshawott?” Jacob asked but before Oshawott could respond, Ledyba interrupted. “Fine,” Jacob replied. “All yours.” Ledyba flew into the sky, looking down on Ariados. Ariados stated firing a string shot attack at Ledyba, but the pokemon quickly dodged. Ledyba then used tackle, slamming into Ariados. Now angry, the Ariados used poison sting, firing its horn at Ledyba. Again the pokemon dodged, but barely. Ariados attacked again, with another stringshot. This time, it hit, dropping Ledyba to the ground, covered in its web.

“Ledyba!” Jacob called out. He looked at Oshawott who stepped forward, prepared to free Ledyba, but stopped when the white mass began to glow. Growing larger, the web broke, and fell to pieces as Ledyba became Ledian. Ledian flew up above Ariados prepared for battle. Ariados fired another stringshot at Ledian. But Ledian quickly responded with a silver wind attack, destroying the web and hitting Ariados, who fell to the ground before rising and promptly fleeing into the bushes. Ledian happily returned to Jacob and Oshawott.

“Ledia!” The pokemon happily declared, nudging Jacob.

“Well done, Ledian,” Jacob replied. “Let me ask, would you like to come with he and Oshawott?” Ledian thought for a moment before nodding. Jacob threw a pokemon, and Ledian disappeared in a red flash. He held up his pokemon proudly, before the pokeball itself disappeared from his hand. He already had six pokemon with him; he’d need to change them out at the next pokemon center. Reminding himself of this, he turned around to continue towards Violet City. It wouldn’t be much further now.

Platinum had noticed the Wild Umbreon reply to the call. He hadn't noticed the dark Eeveelution before, but it was obviously without an owner, and hardly ever fed.

Platinum's eyes were filled with sadness as he caught up an kneeled to the Umbreon. He began gently stroking his hand on its head, and looked up to Dakota.

"What happened to this poor Pokemon?"

Umbreon looked at slightly scared eyes as he kneeled down.

He flinched and waited for the blow, but instead received pets, and gentle strokes between his ears.

He looked nervously at Platinum, still a tiny bit worried he was going to be abused.

Eventually he just closed his eyes happily for a little while and his rings emitted a soft white light.

((OOC: Beginning to regret running off into the woods :/))

BIC:

Meanwhile, deep in the woods, Zeypher and his Pokemon were enjoying a meal of oran berries. At least, the Pokemon were. As tough as the bitter berries were to get down, Zeypher was starving, so he ate alongside his partners.

As they finished picking the berry bushes clean, Zeypher walked into the bushes to relieve himself. it was there that he saw a large pile of berries hidden inside a fallen log. Still hungry, Zeypher began to eat, grabbing a few for his Pokemon, and a few more for the road. He froze when he heard a growl.

Zeypher turned around slowly, expecting a large, threatening Pokemon to be looming over him. Instead, he found himself staring down at a very upset Teddiursa. Laughing, Zeypher put back all the berries he had taken, except for the ones he ate of course. Unfortunately, the Teddiursa was still rather angry. Zeypher shrugged.

"Sorry little guy, I didn't know those were your berries. I gave you all I could." In a fit of fury, the Teddiursa slashed at Zeypher, driving him away from the stockpile of berries. Now dirty, tired and bleeding slightly from the scratches, Zeypher called his Pokemon over to him, and they continued their trek west.

[ Aww. ]
Dakota turned as she got her other pokemon. She put the pokeballs in her bag. "I have no clue, when me and Umbreon were watching the competition he just...appeared." The trainer said, she tipped her head slightly at the other Umbreon. Her Umbreon just licked his nose in a friendly way then began muttering in his ear. Reassuring that Platinum and Dakota weren't going to hurt him. Dakota rubbed the back of her neck, she would've tried capturing him, if she didn't already have her own Umbreon.

Zeypher stumbled as he wandered into a flower garden.

"What the he-"

He froze realizing where he was. It was the National Park. He had spent hours wandering about in circles. Zeypher sighed, plucking twigs from his hair. At least he knew where he was now. He began to trudge down route 36, back to Violet City, hoping thats where the others were.

The Umbreon blushed a little, and then procceeded to nuzzle her back for a few seconds.

He looked at Platinum with a curious gaze, wondering if he would be his trainer in the near future.

He then turned back to the Umbreon and barked quietly in her ear"hey you wanna see something cool?"

Umbreon nodded excitedly, her yellow rings began to glow. Dakota slightly smiled at the two, but quickly erased it to a emotionless face. She put her hands in her pockets. "We should be heading out soon," she said, more towards her Umbreon who just ignored her. The red-head trainer sighed and shook her head.

Umbreon nodded and started walking and swished his tail, as if to say follow me.

He eventually made his way through a few bushes and into a large clearing.

He gestured for them to follow again as he climbed up the rocks next to a huge weeping willow tree.

There were stairs carved into the side and he walked up them cautiously.

Once he had made it to the top he showed them his little "Room" that he helped make with a few of his siblings.

A few other Eeveelutions steeped out to see the visitors, there was a Espeon, a Sylveon, a Vapereon, and last but not least, his mom a Flareon.

He greeted each one with a few barks and gestured for Dakota's Umbreon to meet them, then he looked at platinum with a curious look Could of meant "send Glaceon out?".
