Johto: Travel and Battle

Dakota returned Umbreon, ignoring the dark eeveelution's complaints. She then let her Absol out, to let him get some air and exercise. She turned to Beck and eyed him before looking at Platinum. "You ready?" She questioned flatly.

Platinum thanked the trainer for being kind, but saw Dakota eager to leave as well. He nodded to her and came up behind the Umbreon, stroking between its ears.

"Ready to head out, munchin?" He asked his additional traveling companion.

The Umbreon nodded his thanks as he followed Platinum and Dakota out into the cool night breeze.

He looked at Platinum with an expression of true confusion as he called him... Muchin?

But before he left, a tiny Eevee with two tails splashed through the puddles and over too her dad.

He licked her nose affectionateky and nodded back to go see his sister, Espeon...

Platinum smiled as he saw the unique baby eevee stride over. He watched as the scene played out, but continued walking on, enjoying the slight breeze.

He looked down at his poketech watch, pin pointing their current location, seeing how far Olivine was from here.

The Umbreon sighed.

His daughter just reminded him more of her mom who died in a car crash a few years ago.

His rings turned into a dark blue glow as it started to drizzle.

Beck gave a friendly nod to Platinum and waved off his thanks. "No need to thank me, though I do think you should go quickly, your companion there seems rather... impatient." Then the tall trainer suddenly frowned as he realized a problem and decided to ask his fellow male trainer a question.

"Sorry to ask when you're in a hurry but... could I possibly travel with the two of you for a short ways? I have an unfortunate tendency of getting lost in the wilderness and would appreciate it if you two could guide me on to the next city."

"We're going to Olivine, where the Battle Frontier is going to be held." Dakota said. The anti-social trainer turned her head to Beck. "What city were you planning on going too?" She questioned bluntly. The red-head then turned her head back in front of her. Absol took the rear of the group.

Platinum turned hearing the question. Of course he was all for it, understanding, however he did fear that the fellow trainer was possibly a fan, secretly just trying to follow him again on his journey. As ridiculous as it felt that Platinum was suspicious about it, it happened more often then he thought it would - so he was on his guard. But the man seemed decent enough.

Platinum smiled.

"Well, I'm alright for it...but my...well, 'traveling companion'...I'm not so sure about. It would be up to her, if anything..." He responded, pondering if he should ask her or not.

Platinum looked to Dakota, for her final answer.

The Umbreon forged on infinitly tired art the moment, every 5 or 6 minutes he would stop and pant some more, then keep on walking.

It got too the point were Umbreon was hardly getting a few steps without tripping and falling.

"Olivine City?" Beck questioned. "But isn't this the path to Violet City?" The masked trainer mumbled to himself. He was sure that this road had lead to Violet City, but knowing his terrible sense of direction, Beck wasn't feeling all too surprised that he had chosen the wrong way. Again. However, there was the possibility that the next city after Olivine was Violet.

Deciding to just travel with the pair and thanked the two graciously for allowing him to come with them.

Platinum sighed in relief. She seemed stern about it, but she had allowed him to come.

"Yes, we are going to have to go through quite a few cities on our way to Olivine." He replied to the new member of the temporary travel group.

Platinum continued walking along, as his majestic Pokemon and partner, Milotic, managed to get out of her pokeball at will, refusing to be ignored any longer.

Platinum smiled, happily giving attention to the graceful Pokemon as they walked along, stroking her head.

Beck noticed something fall out of the corner of his eyes as he walked with his two companions and saw a pokeball roll up to his feet. He scooped up the capsule with right hand and called out to his fellow travelers.

"Excuse me, but does this pokeball belong to any of you two?"

Dakota rubbed Umbreon between his ears. She heard Beck speak and turned to look at him. She stared at the red and white pokeball. "It could belong to either of us," Dakota mumbled.

Platinum turned as well, shrugging.

"Why don't you let the Pokemon out? I'm not sure if it's mine but I think it's best we look?" He asked, seeing it was the easiest solution.

Beck nodded at Platinum's suggestion and gripped the pokeball in his hands, preparing to throw the sphere in the air. "Better safe then sorry," Beck said with a genial smile. "Let's just see if it contains a Pokemon or not, I'm sure we'll be able to decide what to do with it from there on."

The tall trainer then threw the pokeball in the air and watched as the capturing capsule opened wide in a flash of white, releasing the mysterious Pokemon that was contained within.

But it realleased nothing it just fell to the ground anticlimacticly.

The Umbreon grew more curios about the spherical object that could hold pokemon as he tried to get down to see it up close.

Platinum had shrugged as well when he saw the pokeball was empty. It could be anyone's pokeball, but he had enough in his possession, and didn't really have any interest in catching any more pokemon anyways. His Milotic lost the interest in the sphere and returned moving along Platinum.

Eventually, the small group made it to Violet City. Platinum looks around at the mysterious city, the Sprout Tower in an easy view, towering above most of the other buildings. Stories and myths surged through his head as he remembered the times he was told about the tower, and HoHo. He smiled at the memories. Although he had traveled there times before, he never got tired of the aura that was so easily recognizable whenever he would enter the town. Milotic curiously looked around, at some times wondering off to examine certain areas, but coming back once prompted by her white haired trainer.

Dakota stopped and smiled at the town. It was her home-town. "Hungry?" She asked. Absol pressed up against her and kept his gaze ahead. Dakota turned to the two travelers, her green gaze blank.

As Milotic heard Dakota mention a word related to food, she instantly took interest and rubbed her head on Platinum, who took attention to himself and noticed he was hungry as well. He stroked the water type and shrugged to Dakota.

"I could eat." He replied, slightly laughing at his partners joyous reaction.

He looked to the new traveler, and to Dakota again.

"Where would you like to go? I think there was some place around here somewhere, but it's slipped my mind." Platinum continued, trying to think of its location, or even if there was one.

"This way," Dakota murmured. She began walking towards the restaurant. Knowing where he was talking about. "Sol.." Absol muttered and followed his trainer. He a few times glanced back at the other two trainers to see if they were following.

Beck followed Dakota as she lead them to the restaurant, it had been sometime since he had any edible human foods and had decided to tag along to fill his stomach.

"Let me pay for the food." The tall trainer said as he gave a warm smile. "After all, it wouldn't feel right if I just walked away without repaying the two of you for your kindness."

Platinum smiled, brushing off the offer.

"Ah, it's quite alright, but I can afford myself, it's no problem. Thank you, though. Always happy to help someone out."

Although Platinum had a strange feeling towards the trainer at first, his outward attitude, that he was always used to using for public, had become a second nature - and caused Platinum to warm up to Beck.

Beck shook his head. "No, I insist. It won't do well for my conscience if I weren't able to repay the two of you in some way." The trainer then inclined his head, bowing to the trainer before him with a pleading countenance.

"Please."

"Fool," Dakota hissed as they entered the restaurant. "I will allow no one to pay for me," she grumbled as they were sat at a table. Absol laid at her feet, a slight amused look on his face. He loved how stubborn his trainer was.

Beck winced at the red-head's harsh tone and bowed his head even lower. It seemed that convincing these two would be harder than he thought. The fact they weren't willing to take his money proved that they were good people, but he wished that they would just accept his repayment. He wasn't raised to ignore his debts after all, no matter how small.

This was something he would not back down on.

"Forgive me if my request offends you miss, but please, I beg of you to allow me to pay my debt."

Dakota stared at him. "I said no, and that's final." She grumbled and kept the stubborn look on her face. Her green eyes stared him down, questioning him if he wants to continue arguing about this with her. The red-head wasn't going to give in. She wasn't one to let others buy her things.

Beck sighed tiredly. It seems that this particular argument could last all day if he pursued the matter any further. He would just have to settle for the next best thing. The trainer then lifted his head and looked pleadingly at the girl that stubbornly sat before him.

"Then at the very least, please allow me to pay half of the bill. Surely that is good enough?"

The Umbreon hungry and tired, rubbed his head on Platinum's leg eagerly.

He then realized how big Milotic was, and took a few steps back, and also craned his neck back too.

When he mustered enough courage to go hack over to Platinum, his stomach growled loudly aemhe sat down and watched every one bicker.

Platinum returned Milotic, who was taking up a bit too much space, and gently pet the Umbreon at his legs, and watched the two ahead of him, feeling empathetic to the tall trainer. Surely he was a good person, who wouldn't take no for an answer to his kind gesture. Platinum looked to Dakota.

"At least allow him, if that is what he really wants." The platinum blonde chimed in.

"It really isn't a big deal, helping people is something that should be a given, but if you really insist, what harm can be done?" He smiled. "We can all chip in."

Jacob took a deep breath and released the pokeball. In a flash of red, Ledian appeared in front of him. At the same time, Bugsy threw his pokeball, and Kakuna appeared on the opposite side of the gym.

“Challengers go first,” Bugsy happily said, motioning to Jacob. Jacob nodded.

“Ledian, use comet punch!” Ledian flew forwards swinging his four fists at Kakuna. The yellow bug pokemon was caught in the attack, and faced a fury of punches.

“Kakuna, use harden!” Kakuna’s shell grew stronger, helping to protect it from Ledian’s attack. However, the ladybug pokemon continued the attack, and Kakuna’s shell did not provide enough protection. Eventually, the pokemon fell to the ground, defeated. “Come back, Kakuna,” Bugsy said recalling his first pokemon. He threw another pokeball, and Scyther appeared in front of him. “Scyther, use slash!” Scyther flew into the air at Ledian. His scythe-arm glowed white as he swung his arm, cutting Ledian, who dropped to the ground. Ledian pulled himself up to his feet as Jacob gave the next order.

“Use Supersonic!” Ledian released several waves that hit Scyther, who looked from side to side, confused.

“Scyther!” Bugsy shouted as his pokemon slowly lowered himself to the ground.

“Now Ledian, use silver wind!” Ledian fired several blasts of silver energy at Scyther. The attack hit and Scyther was knocked over. He stood, but was still confused. “Okay, Ledian, use comet punch!” Ledian flew forward punching Scyther again and again until the pokemon fell, defeated. “Great job, Ledian!”

Ledian had improved significantly since Jacob had caught the pokemon, and Jacob himself was frankly surprised that Ledian was able to successfully defeat the gym leader entirely by himself. Jacob smiled as he embraced his pokemon, who was happily buzzing about.

"But-" Dakota was cut off by a waiter. "Dakota, why do you have to be mean towards people?" He asked.
He stood there, smiling at the red-head who shot a glare back at him. He then looked at the two males. "My name is Axel, Dakota is a friend of mine." He said cheerfully which received a scoff from Dakota.
"You are not!" She snapped.
"Why not?" He whined.
"You punched me in the face the first time we met," she grumbled, both of them stared at each other for awhile before Axel broke the stare down.
"Are these you're friends Kota?" He questioned with a curious look.
"Their not my friends," Dakota rubbed her temples, her patient running out with Axel.
"So you're boy toys?" Axel grinned as he began to mess with the red-head that turned red with anger. "I'm going to deck you if you don't shut up Axel," she hissed.
