Private/Closed Kanto league tournament

Zack, worn out, and full, decided it was time to hit the hay. It was super late, but he decided to get an extra hour of sleep so he wouldn't miss the first round tomorrow. After getting to his room, he unlocked the door, and walked in for the first time. His bag was already there, delivered by staff, and the sheets to his bed were folded neatly. He put his pokeballs on his desk, set his alarm for early in the morning, so he wouldn't miss breakfast, and went to sleep for the night.
"Night team, sleep well, your gonna need all your strength for tomorrow," Zack informed his team, right before passing out on his bed, not even changing into more comfortable clothing.

Riley took notice of the red gem as Layla put in her backpack. It looked important and the guy who just left would probably be a bit depressed once he found out it was missing. Layla didn't seem like the girl who would steal so Riley didn't really worry that she wouldn't give it back. He had seen that guy earlier at the sign-up area which meant he was also entering the tournament. If anything, if Riley had to face Zach, that loss might be a slight advantage for him.

It was starting to get late and the guy who had left was atleast smart enough to get some extra rest. Riley had also gotten some decent information from some of the other competitors so now all he needed was some rest. "Well it's starting to get late now so I'm going to get some rest for tomorrow." Riley told Layla and Drew. "So, uh, it was nice talking with you two." Riley managed too say. He really needed to work on these formalities. "I guess good luck in the tournament." Riley finally said as he rubbed the back of his head. Then he quickly walked away too avoid being anymore awkward. He carelessly bumped into a waitress carrying food on the way out and she was left in a balancing act trying to keep the plates from falling. Luckily Riley had some sort of decency and helped her with the plates before heading out the exit. 'Well that was entertaining.' Riley thought to himself once he was outside.

A few moments later, Riley found himself at the hotel. It was called 'The Royal Pokétel' for which Riley thought the merging of the words 'Poké', which is basically used in front of any word related to Pokemon, and the word 'hotel' was a bit hysterical. But it was rated as a five star hotel for its great services so Riley didn't bother making fun of the name. Even though the services their were fast, the check-in line was pretty slow which caused Riley groan in dismay.

Drew yawned a little bit. " Well Lady Layla I seeth you on the field of battle tomorrow. may fortune find the winner." He said as he bowed before heading to his hotel room.

Nion just got done signing up for the league. Nion was very excited he never realy talked much unless he needed to which wasen't often. Nion came from lavender town hands down the creepiest place in all the regions. John decided to go to a food place his pokemon were hungry his pokemon were big they needed food and not to mention his snorlax wich has been with him since a kid. He ordered a lot of berries and a water for him. He saw a group of trainers he had an emotionless face on him always he looked at them he had a stare with his red eyes he then sat down. The woman gave him his order. "Have a nice meal." Said the lady. ".........................." Nion was scilent. He took a drink of water .His pokemon were eating the berries. Snorlax,Lapras,Charizard,Venusaur,Dodrio, and Rhydon were out of the pokeballs .He then they were all done and they went outside they all layed down looking at all the stars. John was resting on the belly of his snorlax. He starred at the stars. He took off his hat and put it on his chest and just enjoyed the view.

Zack woke up the next morning, super awake and excited for the first rounds to finally get under way. He grabbed his pokemon, put on the same clothes as yesterday, and went down to breakfast. Once he got there, he took out his notebook, and started going over his battle plan.
"Ok so if he does attack, then I'll use..." Zack started to say, as he felt his pocket. His eyes immediately grew as wide and round as the pancakes he was eating.
"OH CRAP!" He shouted in the middle of the room, and a lot of eyes turned to him. He didn't even pay attention, frantically searching everywhere for his gem. He sprinted up to his room to check there faster than Speedster, and triple checked everywhere.
"No no no no! Where did I drop it?!" Zack said to himself, panicking. Then he rushed back down stairs, and onto the training fields. Then he sent out all his pokemon.
"Guys, I really need your help, we need to find my gem," Zack instructed. All his pokemon got as surprised as Zack once was. They all knew how much it meant to him, and they all split to try and find it.
"Oh man, this is not a good start to today..." Zack complained as he ran around asking people if they'd seen it.

Nion woke up the next morning all his pokemon sleeping. He got off the belly of his pokemon he returned them all. He saw this kid who seemed troubled. Nion watched the boy for a while the boy was realy taking it too far he thought to himself. He walked up to him. "Do you need help?"Nion questioned him.

Zack turned to the boy who asked him a question.
"Yes, desperately. I'm missing my red, finger sized gem. It might not seem like something to freak out about, but I got it from my first traveling friend. It was kind of a sign that we would always be friends, I guess, anyway I can't find it anywhere!" Zack panicked. Then he tried to calm down, and took a deep breath.
"Sorry, It's just, I really need to find this it," Zack said, more calmly this time.

Nion remembered a girl had it in a group of three. "I know where it is this girl with what people were saying a farfetched has it she was in this group of three people!"John said kinda loud. "You must have dropped it"Nion said. Nion realized he's never talked as much as this before. "..................."Nion just looked emotionless.

Zack, a little concerned for the boy, said,
"Uh-huh. Ok then, thanks for the info, I gotta go find this girl, thanks for your help!" Zack said, speeding outside without saying goodbye. Zack remembered the girl with the farfetch'd, why would she take it? Zack thought to himself. All he could do was hope that she would give it over willingly, and she wouldn't try to keep it. If it came to that... Let's just say Zack would do almost anything for that gem, and he was going to get it back, one way or another.

If it wasn't for his annoying alarm, Riley would've dozed off until late afternoon. When he felt like he got up, Riley rolled out of bed and started on his morning routine. About a half hour later, he finally made his way out the hotel door and took the elevator down to the hotel's food court. It wasn't large by any means. The counter was actually to the left of the check-in area with chairs and small tables filling up the in between. Some tables were so small that they could only fit two people. The bigger tables could only hold a maximum of four people. The breakfast there was small but could keep someone sane for a day. Riley ordered a egg and bagel sandwich and decided too see if their coffee was any good.

About five minutes later, Riley found himself just staring into his sandwich, too tired to make a move. That's what doing extensive research all night could do to a person. He had a friend upload the data of each contestant into a file and send it too him. Most of Riley's night was spent in front of his laptop, planning out different strategies for each opponent he could possibly face. One of the things that managed too suprise him was how Farfetch'd was used. It was an extremely versatile Pokemon, but there was only a few ways in which it's full potential could be brought out. Maybe that girl he saw at the joint could be one of those smart trainers. Riley had still managed too figure out a way too take it down at it's peak, which required some intense brain storming. That research session had really drained him but maybe the coffee at the hotel could work it's magic.

After checking into her hotel room just as everyone left the steak joint Layla just couldn't fall asleep. She was so anxious about the tournament she had to have her Vileplume use sleep powder. Her Vileplume also had to shake her awake and push her into the shower to get ready for the big day. After her shower she put on some jean shorts and a green T-shirt, quickly fixed her hair and applied a little bit of make-up and left her room after grabbing her bag. She was pretty happy to have met some people already, even though she might have to fight them and they inevitably lose their respect as a trainer it is nice to be on agreeable terms in this competitive environment.

Not being much of a breakfast person Layla gets a piece of toast and leaves the hotel to take a walk and enjoy the weather and collect her thoughts. She knows she should start trying to plan strategies but she just doesn't know enough about anyone to be effective. She started to desperately try to remember when and where the match-ups would be announced not wanting to miss it for anything. "If I could just get matched with some mistake of a trainer, I just might have a chance.. Maybe. I hope."

As Zack restlessly continued to look for the girl he'd seen at the steak joint, he decided to head into the stadium, pretty soon all the competitors would be there waiting so see when they'd be battling in the lineup, so he decided to wait for her there. While he waited he continued reviewing his battle strategy as he was interrupted at breakfast earlier when he noticed his gem missing. This time, he went over his possible opponents. A lot of them did have a wide variety of pokemon, some you wouldn't expect in the league. One thing that Zack liked about the lady he was searching for was she helped him realize he might not only be fighting strong pokemon, so he could give her that much.

Nion made his way to the stadium he was planning his stradegies on the way there. Everybody looked at him he looked emotionless. People asked him if he was okay, he didn't answer what was the point. He was awake all night he had at least 20 battles with random people there pokemon were strong but he won to all of them. So Nion drunken some coffee. Nion was planning his stradegies when he saw the boy from this morning .Nion just looked away and kept making some stradegies.

The coffee seemed too work it's magic as Riley could now walk, talk, and eat. Hopefully it kept him going until his battle was over. There was still no way he was going to lose in the first round. Even if he seemingly died on the battlefield, he had trained his Pokemon to be able to fight on their own, without any commands, at a high level.

The match-ups were normally announced right before the tournament actually started. They were supposed too be put up in the trainer waiting room where all the contestants usually stayed while the tournament took place. When Riley arrived at the waiting room, the match-ups hadn't been put up yet. However, there were a lot of trainers in there. The waiting was actually pretty big. It was actually more like a lounge where the contestants could relax and hang out while they waited. There were some vending machines on the side. Some with snack and some with drinks for trainers and their Pokemon. You were actually allowed to have your Pokemon out in the lounge. Obviously not Pokemon that were too large. There were also some pretty nice sofas that were so comfortable that Riley had too fight himself from falling asleep again. 'No sofa until after matches.' Riley mentally noted. Luckily there were also some chairs, which were not too bad. There were also tables in between groups of sofas and chairs where trainers could play cards or do whatever else they wanted to do. Riley, being himself, just rested his feet on the table as he laid back in his chair.

"Get your fucking foot off the table!" A voice exclaimed, kicking Riley out of his thoughts. He looked up to the voice to see a boy about the same age as himself. Blonde hair, cargo shorts and a black tee shirt. Riley decided too act smart. "Why should I?" Riley asked in a lazy voice. That seemed to annoy the kid even more but suddenly he calmed down and actually had a grin on his face. "It's alright, when I kick your ass in front of everyone in this stadium then we'll see who's laughing." The boy stated, clearly proud of his comeback. Riley wasn't having anymore of this shit and stood up, causing the growing crowd around them too gasp. "Oh, trying to act tough now, huh?" The boy asked before slowly reaching for his Pokébelt where his pokeballs were stored. "Well that's sad. Here I thought your brain was big enough to actually comprehend when you've already lost." Riley said as he reached for a pokeball on his Pokébelt. For a brief second, they both locked eyes, which qued the next action as the now large crowd backed away.

In a split second, both of them grabbed the pokeball they wanted off their Pokébelt and enlarged them, getting ready to release their Pokemon. The crowd gasped in awe a second later when a trainer jumped in between Riley and the other trainer and grabbed their wrists and twisted them. That caused both of them too drop their pokeballs. "We wouldn't want you two chumps too be disqualified this early, do we?" The trainer who interfered asked calmly, his blue eyes quickly glancing at both of the trainers.

"He has a point there." A blonde haired man said as he walked towards him. " Last thing we want is the two of you to get kicked out because of a small dispute." He said as he leaned against a wall. the man had a tuxedo on and looked at everyone. "let's all try to have fun shall we." He said. he turned his head and looked towards the door.

Drew ran towards the stadium. He entered the stadium and took a seat in the stands. While others might like to sit in the lobby he preferred to look at the field and feel the wind brush against him.

Zack heard the commotion coming from the lounge area, and he decided to go see what was going on with the group of people that had started fighting. When he got over there, two trainers who clearly hated each other were being stopped by a blue eyed person who seemed to calm about the situation.
"What's going on here?" Zack asked quite surprised two trainers would dare try and battle in a place where lot's of people were around. He knew it wasn't really his business, but it became his business when innocent people could get hurt.
"Ok let's break it up you two. Look around you! Are you guys really going to battle in here to show who is more of a douche bag, even when all these people's safety is at stake? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for even thinking to do something so selfish. You battle in here, you're no better than the thugs that steal pokemon," Zack said with strength in his words. Allowing the two to calm down a bit, and realize what they almost did. The calm boy who stopped the two also agreed, as he blocked the two from each other.

Riley grunted at the guy's short speech and picked up his pokeball. "He has a point." The guy who stopped them stated. While everyone was gathering themselves, Riley took a good look at the guy stopped them. He had blue curly hair, a white tee shirt with a pokeball symbol in the middle as well as well black cargo pants. The crowd however, they had wanted more but they were pleased with what they got. "Why waste a battle here when you could show your true skills on an actual battlefield. Settle your problems during the actual tournament." The guy said, looking more so at Riley, who was trying not to pay attention. The guy grinned at this before walking away with his hands in his pockets.

Riley was quite intrigued by that guy as he did seem to be the average trainer. Riley then looked at Zack and recognized him as the guy who dropped the red gem or whatever it was. The way he was acting, it didn't seem he was bothered by the fact that he had lost it. But Riley did get more interested when the trainer who picked a fight with him decided to keep on talking. He had seemingly gathered a following due to him blabbering nonsense. "I mean really, we're all trainers here. What's wrong with a little fight?!" The boy said and the others around him chuckled at the comment. "What a little Caterpie!" The boy said before laughing. Someone in the group tried to be funny by comparing Zack to a Magikarp but it backfired on him and he became the laughing stock. Riley just shook his head and sat back down. He was more angered about the fact that he was compared to a low level thug. 'What does he know about thugs? People these days think anything escalating higher than friendly chatter leads to violence. Especially when Pokemon is involved.' Riley thought to himself, shaking his head.

Nion just watched what happened and thought what the fuck just happened. Nion was annoyed by this type of behavior. Nion starred at the boy who had been called a little caterpillar he stared at hI'm with his red eyes that were noticeable a mile away. Nion just stared with his red eyes. Again he did this looking emotionless. Nion was kinda mad inside a trainer just comes up and tells you to do something. Nion just was starring with his cold dead eyes.

Zack turned to the trainer who had continued to insult the other and himself. Zack gave him a devilish glare that anyone could see, even under his glasses. He then, without words, walked up to him.
"What are you gonna do tough guy? Think you're something special?" The cocky trainer teased. Then, in a few quick strikes, Zack hit the pressure points on the guy's legs, causing him to fall flat on his face. He learned that one from Ace.
"That's where dirt like you belongs, on the ground," Zack told him. Then he bent down and met his face.
"By the way, your legs should heal in a few hours, but unfortunately, first rounds will be over by then. Looks like you're not getting a battle at all, my bad." Zack explained with a smirk on his face. Then he got up, glared at the other trainer who stayed silent, and walked out of the lounge with everyone silent. After leaving, he went back on the search for the girl. In all the commotion, Zack still managed to notice the screen showing he was up second. Lucky for him, he was up against one of the jerk trainer's friends. His name was apparently Ethan James. Zack decided to look around the stadium, looking for the lady while he waited for the first match to begin.
"Well that was dramatic, it's shameful that people can get so selfish and careless about people and pokemon because of their own personal problems." Zack muttered to himself. Normally, he would have been focused on the gem, but he knew that wasn't what Hazel would have wanted. She would have wanted Zack to calm the two, rather than risk a ruby for people's safety. Zack smiled to himself knowing he made Hazel proud, and then ran off down the hall in search of the girl.

It was a good day for the tournament. The weather was great, it wasn't too hot there was a nice breeze blowing through town. There was a mass of people all heading into the trainer waiting room, she finally recalled that's where they usually announce the match-ups. She moved into the room with the crowd getting bumped into a lot with no apologies which made her a tad frustrated. After she made it in she caught just the tail-end of what seemed like a fight in the making. She had to constantly move around to see past the crowd because just about everyone is taller than her, which she doesn't like to be reminded of. Finally catching a glimpse of the people inside the circle she was surprised to see Riley. Wow, I didn't peg him as someone to start fights. She then saw a blond-haired dude who seemed to be very upset and then she saw- Oh That's the guy from the diner who dropped that gem thingy, i'll go try to- She stopped dead in her tracks and a cold sweat ran down her back as she saw him attack the blond dude who was put straight into the ground. She started to back up from the crowd shuddering to think what that maniac would do to her when he found out she had his gem. One thought ran through her head as she watch him run down the hall. That guys gonna kill me.

Riley didn't know how to react when he saw Zack pummel that guy. 'He tells us too stop fighting and then he takes out that guy's legs.' Riley thought, shaking his head. He watched as a small group surrounded the man as his friends helped him up. He seemed to be mumbling something but Riley couldn't make out what he was saying. Riley scanned around the room to see the woman from yesterday. Riley took one good look at Layla to notice that she had a look of fear on her face. Her backing away from the crowd also gave it away. She was probably going to give that guy back the red gem but his actions frightened her away. Riley shook his head at the irony. The boy tried to show off his skills and now ended up frightening the person who was about to return his lost item.

Riley was going to go over to greet Layla but a loud voice quieted everyone in the room. The quiet didn't last long as the arrogant trainers went back to talking. It so happened that the man walked up to the wall behind Riley and stapled a paper into it. Riley grinned as he noticed it showed all the match ups for the first round. Riley was first and it so happened that his opponent was the one who just got his legs taken out. Riley thought he should go tell one of the officials to disqualify his opponent but a few minutes later, his opponent rolled in on a wheelchair.

Over the loudspeaker, an announcer, well, announced that first match of the first round was beginning in 5. Zack changed his walk path from looking to the girl to looking for a good seat in the stadium. Once he got there, he sat in the front row, and munched on some snacks he just got. Over the course of this time, Zack thought back on what he'd done. Everyone had probably thought he broke the guy's legs. Really he just hit pressure points, but I guess it's one in the same in that situation. It was pretty hypocritical of him to say no fighting, and then paralyze a guys legs. Though, he did say that there was no fighting when people's health was at risk, he didn't really risk anyone's health, except for the bully. Zack was sure he wouldn't have anymore smart remarks coming from him anytime soon. He also probably scared quite a few people, not only did he pummel the guy, but he also found himself quite intimidating as it was. Or that was just him. He found all people that you can't see the eyes of intimidating. They way he dressed, you could only see his arms, legs, and face, minus the eyes.
"Man that was stupid of me. I'll show everyone i'm not scary when my round comes up, I'll do something to make me look like a nice guy, something to prove to Hazel he was trying his best to do right not wrong," Zack proudly convinced himself. Then the announcer came over the intercom once again.
Alright! Let's start this League up! First up we have Riley, from, somewhere! And his competitor, Jake, from Mossdeep City! Let's get this Tournament under way! The announcer cheerfully declared.

Layla let out a relieved sigh as the orange maniac left the room. She is probably overreacting.. hopefully. Her attention was drawn when someone quieted the room and went to staple something on the wall. "That must be the match-ups for the first round." Quickly moved her way past most of the crowd and was able to catch a quick glimpse of the list before she was pushed aside. Her heart sank a little. Great second to last. I get plenty of time to panic before my match. Well at least I'm not first I guess. Glances at Riley who seems to be very confident. Yeah.. pretty sure I know how that match will go.. Layla starts to move away from the list when she hears an obnoxiously loud deep voice exclaim his match up. "Layla Evans? I'm fighting a girl?" Layla quickly looked towards the crowd to see the 6'6 man who looked a little older than her, wearing a tank top and jeans. She looked away just as quick, not wanting to talk with her opponent before the match. She tried to recall his name from the list. "Great so it turns out Cory Masters is a giant, yay." She mumbled as she stayed off to the side. Everyone stopped talking as the first round was announced. Layla walked past Riley and gave a thumbs up and a smile "Take em down champ." She left the waiting area and found an open seat away from most of the crowd.

Nion went and Sat by the guy who just put that guy in a wheel chair. He looked at him with his red eyes then looked at the field. Everybody looked at him like he had a death wish. He decided he would send out his pokemon to sit in the seats.

"Oh hey, I remember you from this morning, thanks a lot for letting me know who had my gem, you helped narrow my search a lot," Zack thanked the mysterious person. The person seemed upset, and Zack figured it was because of his little circus trick back at the lounge.
"Look, I know I may have pushed it a bit back there, but I didn't mean to come off as dangerous, I was just trying to stand up for all the victims of the bully. I'm sorry if it scared anyone," Zack apologized, hoping at least someone would forgive him.

"Um, thanks." Riley replied to Layla before heading down the entrance to the battlefield. Right before they headed onto the battlefield, Riley found that his opponent didn't need legs to come after him as he almost got ran over by a wheelchair. "That's right moron, I don't have to kick your ass with legs!" Jake shouted as he rolled himself away. Riley didn't know what was worse. Almost being ran over by a man in a wheelchair or Jake attempt at a sly remark. Whatever the case, Riley made sure that after this match, Jake wouldn't be coming out on a wheelchair.

At first Riley was a bit suprised by how large the stadium was. It probably cobtributed to the high levels of noise in the stadium coming from the crowds yelling and screaming. When Riley walked out, he hadn't imagined that it could get an louder but it did. Riley couldn't help but grin. He made sure to stay calm until the match began. Riley kept a smirk off his face when Jake came onto the battlefield in his wheelchair. From what Riley could hear, the crowd actually felt bad for him. However, they didn't know how much of an asshole Jake was. He was interrupted from his thoughts when the announcer began to speak.

"Alright then! In 3... 2... 1... Go!!!" The announcer shouted causing the crowd to erupt. Riley rolled his eyes before sending out his Pokemon. Since the first round was a '1v1' format, Riley sent out one of his stronger Pokemon. As the orange dragon came out it let out a powerful roar. Riley smirked as Jake sent out his Pokemon, an Arbok. "Wow, a snake just like you!" Riley commented, loud enough for Jake to hear. The microphones around the battlefield also picked up the talk on the battlefield. "Shut up you bastard! You're that kid got to me first. If it wasn't for that freak I would've beaten you to a pulp!" Jake excited, causing the crowd to get excited due to the trash talk. Riley smirked as his goal to provoke Jake had worked, now he just had to expose Jake for the type of person he was. "Dragonite, extreme speed." Riley commanded. In a quick second, all everyone saw Arbok being knocked back. Jake didn't look bothered by that. "Now, Arbok, poison tail!" Jake ordered. Arbok's tail started glow purple before it jumped into the air and dashed down, ready to smash it's tail into Dragonite. "Use thunder punch too counter it. Dragonite's fist had electricity form around it before it smashed into the tail, causing a small explosion. However, Jake was not done as he ordered Arbok to use sludge bomb immediately, giving Dragonite no time to dodge. When the smoke cleared, both Pokemon were still standing, but then Dragonite kneeled to the floor and it was clear too Riley that he was poisoned. "Damn it." Riley muttered as he turned to see a grin appear on Jake's face.

Nion just looks at the boy with his red eyes and he shrugs Nion smiles at him showing he forgives him. While then Nions Snorlax is sleeping. Nion just waits patiently. Then his Dodrio is eating popcorn. How did you get popcorn Nion thought to himself.

Zack let out a sigh of relief. It was good to know someone understood.
"Thanks for forgiving me, I'll prove to everyone in my match that I'm not as bad as I look," Zack confirmed with confidence. He then realized his nerves and watched the battle going on. It wasn't looking good for Riley.
"Looks like they got there battle after all," Zack said quietly to himself. Riley, kick this guys ass. Show em' what jerks like him get for being mean to people for no reason Zack thought to himself hopefully.

Layla watched the battle carefully, reminded why she loves the tournament environment so much. It always feel amazing walking into the stadium with just a deafening amount of applause. She was impressed how the Arbok and Dragonites attacks clashed in a small explosion. Both trainers were showing some quick time skills which she hoped she would be able to emulate. She frowned watching the dragonite struggle with poison. "I'm sure it will be fine, I mean it's a snake versus a damn dragon."

"What's wrong, Riley is your name right? How do you feel now you fucking loser?!" Jake exclaimed, clearly glad that he seemed to be winning. Riley didn't pay attention to any of that and tried walking over to his Dragonite and rested his hand on it's arm. "Come on buddy, we can't lose to this guy. Just hang in there." Riley told Dragonite. The dragon nodded before standing up on both feet. Jake saw this moment as an advantage and had his Arbok fire another sludge bomb, not caring that Riley was in the way. The crowd gasped as Dragonite blocked it with it's body, protecting it's trainer. "Damn it! You're lucky your dragon decided to protect you otherwise you would've been dead." Jake stated, clarifying the fact that he had Arbok try to get Riley with that attack. Riley just backed away before ordering his next move.

"Dragonite... Use dragon dance." Riley stated calmly. Jake burst out laughing. "Oh my Arceus! What type of fool are you?!" Jake managed to say. Dragonite, however, did not doubt its trainer's orders. Dragonite then started performing some special movements. Jake wasn't having any of it and shouted to his Arbok to continue firing poison sting. It hurt Riley to watch his Pokemon suffer like that but he realized what Jake was doing. Jake was seemingly drawing out the battle to draw out the prolonged pain from Dragonite and make Riley slowly succumb to defeat. "Haha! Your Dragonite is even dumber than you. It's dancing like a retard. I'm going to enjoy watching your Pokemon suffer slowly due to the poison. In fact, I'll have Arbok make its attack do less damage for some extra time!" Jake exclaimed. Dragonite's movements were growing slower and slower as the battle dragged on. Riley could hear the crowd getting restless. But if they wanted a show, they were going to have to wait a little longer. Riley almost had full crowd control.

A few painful moments later, Riley knew Dragonite was ready. Jake thought that Dragonite had almost feinted. The crowd also seemed to be angered at Jake's strategy and they stopped feeling bad for him once they figured out his strategy. "This crowd is completely ignored. Fine, I'll end it. Arbok, wrap around it!" Jake commanded. The large purple snake slithered its way towards Dragonite hissing. Then it wrapped it's body around the Dragonite and started to squeeze. Dragonite roared in pain but closed it's eyes too keep it's focus. The crowd gasped at this. Then it happened.

"It's over, show no mercy! Arbok crush that Dragonite!" Jake commanded. Arbok squeezed as hard as it could but then it stopped and the crowd got silent. Dragonite growled and it soon became clear that Arbok was forced to stop. "Wh-what the hell! Arbok crush him now!" Jake exclaimed. Riley grinned as he watched Jake. "You were right about one thing... It's over!" Riley stated. Right after, Dragonite roared and tore itself free. "But how?!" Jake exclaimed as he watched Dragonite grab Arbok by its tail and smashed it into the ground. "Dragon dance motherfucker." Riley stated before a teal aura grew around Dragonite. "D-dragon rush..." Jake managed too say as he tried to roll away this time. "Arbok, get him now you worthless snake!" Jake yelled harshly. Arbok hesitated for a moment and for a brief second Riley thought he could see the sadness in Arbok's eyes. He watched as Arbok sacrificed it's body for it's trainer. Riley didn't actually plan for the next, brutal part. Jake had tried to avoid the attack but instead rode into it. When Dragonite crashed into Arbok, they went full speed into the wall. Jake was so busy cursing out Riley that he didn't even see the attack coming. All everyone saw was Arbok and Dragonite crash full speed into Jake and then rammed right into the wall causing a bigger explosion than last time. The crowd gasped at what had happened.

It took a few moments for it to register to the crowd when the announcer stated that Riley had won. Medical services were already there. One thing Riley was right about was that Jake wouldn't be leaving on a wheelchair. It would be a stretcher. When Riley walked up too his Dragonite, it was mostly healed up thanks to the medical team. "I knew we could do it Dragonite." Riley told his Pokemon. Dragonite grumbled proudly before they fist bumped. After Riley returned Dragonite, he looked one more time at Jake before walking back into the waiting room to watch the other matches.

"What the hell!?" Layla sprung to her feet Jake tried to hit Riley with a sludge bomb. She didn't think the tournament would get this toxic, she had no idea people would be willing to kill each other. Her grip on the seat in front of her tightened as dragonite's torture went on. She flinched as the arbok tightened it's wrap around. "This is tough to watch, Why can't people just fight fair?" Her grip on the chair released and she threw her hands into the air as the dragonite slams the arbok into the ground and then into his trainer. "H-Holy shit. He might have seemed like an jerk, but I hope he's not dead." With the match concluded even though she was worried for a quiet a bit her prediction was correct. It's clear that this guy puts a lot into his strategy and is a very formidable opponent. "I just hope I never have to fight him." She sits down and relaxes back into her seat and wondered what the next match was gonna be like.

Zack could barely hear himself think by how loud the crowd was being, so he decided to head out of the bleachers and get ready for his match. On the way down the hall to get to his match, he passed Riley. As they walked by he stopped him.
"Hey Riley, I'm sorry for everything that happened back at the lounge, I know I was a hypocrite hurting Jake, but come on, the dude deserved it. Peace or not. All I ask is for your forgiveness." Zack apologized, walking backwards towards the field. "And nice job fucking him up for me!" He called back last second, turning the corner to take the field.
And after that quite brutal performance to kick of the league next up we have Zack, from Fuchsia City! And his competitor, Ethan! From Geosenge town! The announced declared, Begin!
"You are so going to pay for embarrassing my homie like that you little twerp!" Ethan yelled, sending out a Jynx.
"Alright let's do this, go Torch!" Zack said throwing out his orange dragon. He roared upon being free from his ball, and landed with a big thud.
"Ha! A little Charizard isn't gonna save you from the ass whooping i'm about to give you!" Jynx use blizzard!" Ethan shouted, as the humanesque pokemon launched a series of ice shards at Torch.
"Alright Torch make this quick, counter with flamethrower! Then use our combo move dragon punch!" Zack countered. Ethan was puzzled, "The hell is dragon punch?" He asked himself. Torch easily melted away the blizzard with barely an effort, and then shot up into the air so fast, all you could see was where it was when it stopped moving. Torch released a dragon shaped burst of colorful energy, dragon pulse, straight at the Jynx, both it and it's trainer's eyes full of fright.
"Now Torch! Go for it! Dragon Punch!" Zack reminded his partner. Torch dove down and formed a fist of fire, fire punch, and released it on the moving dragon pulse. This caused Torch's fire punch to get an upgrade, being surrounded by the dragon shaped energy, forming what Torch and Zack call, Dragon Punch. Torch came crashing down with full force on top of the Jynx, Ethan too shocked to try and make it dodge, super effective, Jynx fainted.
"O-Over already? B-b-but how?!" Ethan asked shocked.
"It's a little something called 24/7 training, and a true bond between trainer and pokemon. You know, the basics," Zack teased as he left the field. "Looks like we aren't even gonna need to heal you are we Torch? That's what cocky trainers get." Zack told his partner. "Never underestimate your opponent, another basic," Zack said as him and his first pokemon headed back to the seats to watch the rest of round one.

Nion headed out to the field it was his turn. "Ok people we have Nion Parker Vs Kenny Cox Begin!!!!"Screamed the announcer. Kenny his opponent stepped on the battle field Nion stepped on the battle field. "I'll beat you so fucking hard in the ground you'll become a ground type"Kenny said. Kenny then sent out a Machamp. Nion sent out a Dodrio. (started playing) "Focus blast!!!" Screamed Kenny. Dodrio dodged it and used drill peck right in the Machamps eye. "Seismic Toss" Screamed Kenny. The Machamp grabbed Dodrio and jumped in the sky and threw Dodrio to the ground Dodrio used brave bird while in the air causing a big cloud of smoke. Machamp fell on the ground fainted. Dodrio flew to land. Nion gave Dodrio some berries. Nion walked back to his seat. Looking at Kenny with his Red eyes.

The events that went by afterwards happened so fast. First that Zack guy spoke with him and asked for forgiveness. Riley hadn't thought Zack had done anything wrong but he made note too tell him that he was forgiven. Riley was glad that he didn't mind that Jake got fucked up. Afterwards, Riley watched the battles with Zack and then Nion afterwards. They both finished their battles faster than his but didn't have as much hype as Riley's. Some of the trainers in the waiting room tried made sure not too mess with Riley after witnessing what he had done which Riley didn't mind. Now that his match was over, he decided that he could finally sit in one of those comfortable sofas and watch the battles from one of the monitors in the room. Better yet, no one complained when he put his feet on the table.

Layla sat back in her seat after watching the battle between Jynx and Charizard. She wasn't surprised by the outcome given the type match-up but she couldn't get over the combo move. "At least he's creative about how he hurts people." After seeing the pokemon for the third round she wasn't surprised as the dodrio beat the machamp in an impressive fashion. The second and third fights weren't nearly as nail-biting as the first but it was still abundantly clear to her there was no way she could win this tournament. I may have no chance of winning, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna try.

The familiar ring of her cellphone derailed her train of thought. She recognized who it was and moved into the hallway leading to the trainer waiting room. "Hey Mom I know I'm sorry I forgot to call. It's been a little hectic here." "It's alright sweetie we figured as much, just want to make sure you're alright. Whens your match? we want to see you battle!" Layla rubbed the back of her head a little embarrassed. "You guys are gonna watch this time? You heard how last time went right?" "We were busy and we have never really seen you battle, you have got to stop beating yourself up over that! have some faith in your team, and yourself!" Layla smiled and closed her eyes. It was nice to get some encouragement every once in a while. "It's match-up number seven, so just three more to go." "We can't wait! We are so proud of you, have fun!" "Thanks mom, talk to ya later." She ended the call and leaned against the hallway wall with a satisfied look on her face. Everyone else may have elite teams, but at least she has some great parents.

"So..." Will muttered to himself "it's our turn now"
Smiling to his Pokémon, he took a deep breath as he returned them all to their Pokeballs, and stepped out onto the battlefield

"This will be a battle between Will Whitman of Viridian City and Joe Alexson of Viridian City!"
Will smiled, another who hailed from Viridian, this would be interesting

"Blastoise, GO!" Will shouted, as his Pokeball arched through the air, hitting the stadium floor and burst out Blastoise to meet its foe, an Alakazam.
"Hydro Pump!" Will called, and Blastoise fired two jets of water at Alakazam, which teleported away
"Phychic!" Will heard his foe command, and Blastoise was forced to take a step back under the psychic blast

"Now, Teleport again!" Joe shouted, "and now Psychic!"
But Will was prepared. "Rapid Spin!" He ordered, and Blastoise returned to its shell, spinning fiercely, as soon as Alakazam reappeared, it shot towards it, knocking it back. "Now that it's stunned, Hydro Pump"

"Psybeam!" Joe called out, and the two attacks met eachother, each Pokemon ferociously trying to overpower the other. In the end, Blastpise won out, slamming Alakazam into the wall. The two traded blows for a few minutes, until Will decided to finish the battle in one decisive attack.

"Rapid Spin!" Will shouted, and Blastoise slammed into Alakazam, which stumbled back. "And now Skull Bash!"
The force of the attack sent the Alakazam flying into the wall, knocked out

"It seems Will Whitman is the winner of this one!" The Announcer called put, but Will barely heard as he was smiling at Blastoise. Victory was his.

He walked up to Joe and the two shook hands
"That was a good battle" Will said "truly it was"
"I know, right?" Joe asked "almost like we could be related!"
"Well, I hope to see you around in Viridian City after this"
"Same here"
And so the two opponents exited the arena

After his round had ended, everyone's matches were going by faster, the only reason the first match lasted so long was because of the unfair battler Jake. That, and Riley used a non damaging move first. Then Zack saw her. The girl from yesterday night that supposedly had his ruby. She was just leaning against a wall, and she'd just put away her phone.
"Hey! You there!" Zack yelled as he ran to catch up to her. "Are you the one who has my ruby?" He asked slowing down, for some reason she looked scared at his appearance.
"Look if this is about that stunt back at the lounge, I didn't mean to fright you, and I didn't mean to lash out like that, it's not something I normally do. But the guy still tried to start a battle when lot's of people could have gotten hurt. All he cared about was proving he was better, and I needed to stop that" Zack ranted, hoping she would ease her nerves.

The blonde haired guy walked onto the field. He smiled a little bit watching everyone before him figuring out what their strategies might be. He smiled a little bit at his opponent a David Blake. From every video he watched the man always started a match with his Starmie.

" Go Starmie." Blake said.
' predictable.' the man thought. In response the blonde haired guy sent out his Nidoqueen.
" Starmie use Hydro pump." Blake said. " you sent out the wrong type man." Blake said over confidently.
Nidoqueen took the attack. She stood in place. " Thunder shock.." the man said. Nidoqueen grabbed both ends of the water torrent that was hitting her. Electricity rippled threw the hydro pump until it his Starmie KOing it instantly. " How." Blake said astonished from the attack he knew electricity was a weakness but how could it have been so effective from a ground type.
The man simply nodded his head before returning his pokemon to her ball. " People join me and together we can bring forth peace to this world." He said.

'World peace? What the hell is he talking about?! We're in the middle of a tournament.' Riley thought as he looked at the screen. 'He's probably from one of those groups...' Riley wondered. Just two years ago there was an incident in a different region. One group actually opened a portal to another dimension. The reports weren't clear as the International Police tried to cover everything up but some people knew what had happened. Riley just shook his head hoping this guy wasn't part of an organization.

Riley then decided he needed a stretch break from laying down for so long. So he decided to take a walk. As soon as Riley got into the hallway, he noticed Layla on the phone with someone before Zack showed up. He was probably there for his gem but from what Riley could hear, Zack seemed to realize she was a bit frightened of him. 'Well this will be interesting.' Riley thought too himself. He decided too walk over to them for whatever reason. "So Zack is your name right? Well I accept your apology." Riley told Zack once he was standing next to the two. "So what's going on here?" Riley asked glancing at Layla before looking back at Zack. "If you're trying ask for that item you lost yesterday, maybe you should calm down and ask a bit nicely instead of going on a rant." Riley told Zack.

Layla was interrupted from her sentimental moment and her happy mood changed into surprised panic as the dark red-eyed delinquent sprinted toward her. She backed up as much into he wall as possible and was slow to answer if she had the gem out of fear of which of her limbs he would break. Before she could even reply he went on a tangent on how he reacted and how people make him mad, or something like that. She was starting to piece together that he wasn't the cold-blooded hit-man she originally thought he was. Riley came over to help clear up the case. Finally Layla regains enough of her composure to talk and quickly dug through her bag and pulled out the red gem. "Yeah sorry about that, I promise I didn't mean to steal it I just saw you drop it the other night but you were already gone. So uh, nice to meet you I'm Layla.. You did a great job in your battle... and here ya go." She pushes the gem onto the man not wanting to make the situation anymore awkward. She quickly turns to Riley with a grin "By the way great job in your battle as well, real nail-biter."
