Jake decided to try to socialise, having people watched enough, he looked around for a moment, he spotted Tsugikuni and walked over. Upon reaching the table he gave a small wave, "Mind if I sit with you fine people" he asked with a smile" as he stood trying to not be too imposing, although he had a rather feminine physique for a guy and imposing was never usually the term people used to describe him.

Amaryllis Cloverfield
Amaryllis was standing by the kitchens of the cafeteria when she sniffed out what she had been hunting, honey, she grinned and went invisible, sneaking her way into the kitchen where she then located the kitchens supply of honey, she excitedly helped herself, but she became visible again and was soon caught by the kitchen staff, she quickly grabbed a large pot of honey and dashed out of the kitchen and quickly floated up into a corner to hide from the kitchen staff with her stollen goodies as she hovered their eating her honey.

Tandy walked around the cafeteria her tail swishing back and forth excitedly as she listened to and smelled all the new people around her. She quickly locked in on one group in particular, that had a girl who seemed a bit like her and she quickly made her way over to the group, one of them smelled like insects which she thought was kind of curious, but she walked up and with a big grin she said "Hi, my names Tandy, I'm really excited to meet everyone, you guys seem kind of cool, are you an insect or something, you smell like bugs, and you smell like a wolf that's cool, your kind of like me" she kind of then rambled off as her excitement got the better of her, she paused on Pax for a second, "there is a strange smell on you, I've not smelt it before, it's kind of an old smell, like some kind of lizard, do you own lizards, that would be so cool" she said still very excited her tail wagging back and forth really fast.

Isaac and Ilya Ashton

Ilya's ears morphed back to wolf form as they perked up, herself catching a new, more familiar scent. When she turned, she saw Tandy and was surprised to see someone with an appearance similar to her own. Before Isaac even realized what was about to happen, Ilya jumped out of her seat, tail wagging and faced the newcomer. "Hey! I'm Ilya, this is my brother Isaac!"
Isaac briefly choked on a piece of fruit before turning around. "Gosh darn it Ilya! Can't you keep calm for like, ten minutes? What's got you so excited?" Isaac then spotted Tandy and his jaw dropped. "Dear Lord they're multiplying."
Ignoring her brother's comment, Ilya asked. "Are you a werewolf too?"

Marx's looked at Milliara with sparkling eyes of happiness as he grinned with glee. He got up from his seat and fixed up his clothing to look somewhat decent.

"Sounds good. Wanna head out now? I really don't got much else to do here and I kinda wanna know where I got to go so I don't get lost."
Milliara Rakoto

"Hold on, there's supposed to be an announcement from the Principal, but once that is taken care of, we can head out."

Milliara was actually happy, and it seemed like Marx was just as happy, if not, even happier than they were. Milliara smiled a little at Marx, with them suddenly copying someone else's power, which was Marx's again. They'll keep this power around to figure out how it works and if there were any possible insecurities with it.

Marcel smiled before softly moving his hand. “No problem, Fuyuko.” Marcel was mere inches away from holding Fuyuko’s hand. But decided against it, rather, he began to continue his tale. “Then we get to the headmaster’s office and Jack is suddenly playing the victim act.”

4 Months ago, Woodstock Vermont
Time: 12:06
Temperature: 43 degrees
Calypso Power Academg

Marcel, Samael, Alexis, Jack and His Gang were all inside the Headmaster’s office. Headmaster Whitmore was furious at the display that took place in the hall. “Now. Can one of you explain, what happened inside that hallway!”

The cross talking and arguing ensued between Jack, Marcel, Samael, and Jack’s friends. That was when a a fed up Alexis cut everyone off. “Enough! Enough. Okay….I’m tired of hiding everything away.”

Marcel and Samael were caught off guard. Jack gritted his teeth, he was half tempted to cut her off from speaking. But, before he could, Alexis dumped everything out. “Marcel and Samael were merely defending me Headmaster Whitmore. They…they kept me safe from Jack and his terror. He…he hurt me, mentally and physically. I hid my pains under hoodies and sunglasses so no one could see.”

Alexis took off her hoodie, her short sleeve showed some…marks. Bruises and even some ice burns on her arms, she took her sunglasses off and showed some bruises on her eyes. This was enough to seal the deal.

Jack was furious, he almost got up and charged Alexis before Samael held him back with his Anima Sola chains. Whitmore knew what to do.

“Alexis…I am…very sorry this happened to you. Marcel and Samael, you two are free to go. Alexis, we will provide all the resources for you to heal from Jack. Okay.”

As soon as Marcel, Samael, and Alexis left his office. Alexis hugged Marcel and Broke down in his arms, Marcel gently reassured her that Samael and him would be ready at any moment. Their sentiments were cut short as they heard Whitmore explode on Jack. Ultimately suspending him.

“It took a lot of time for Alexis to overcome what she went through. But, we were there to support her.” Marcel smiled softly before looking at Fuyuko. His eyes filled with unspoken protection. “I wanted to tell you this…incase if we got close, I could always be there for you.”

The lore, it’s real)
Fuyuko Redtail

"I hope this Alexis is okay now, especially with what she went through, it was scary for her, and I don't know how I would react to Mel Mel ending up in that situation." Fuyuko admitted, "Francesca was ready to try that, but the teacher that got wind of everything got involved, and that led to Francesca getting expelled. The teacher said this about Francesca's fight with me, 'Francesca Ghostfist has made a grave mistake with the target of her malicious escapades. She has now enraged one of the strongest students in the school, and will be seeing just how much a good idea it was, and retribution had hit her like a freight train.'"

Fuyuko then sat with Marcel, looking around the room, seeing all sorts of interactions, such as four people with this one girl, a random boy eating alone (Omar), a few other groups of interactions, then pointing out Melanie and a random boy she was talking to (Cinead).

"M-Marcel, t-there's M-Melanie, M-my h-half-sister." Fuyuko explained, "Y-You'll m-meet h-her l-later."

She then looked at how Melanie was with him. Fuyuko was trying not to laugh at what she was seeing. She was watching her sister, flustered, trying to talk to a boy with wildly red hair. Fuyuko had picked up on something that her sister had no idea of. She'll keep it to herself for now.

Just as Marx was ready to head out, he heard Milliara's words and stopped dead in his tracks, turning to look at her ass he chuckled to himself.

"Right! I knew that, just checking to see if you did." He joked as he playfully nudged her before crossing his arms, looking around the cafeteria as he raised a brow. "Actually, now I'm just wondering what the announcement could possibly be about." The young man asked as he rubbed the bottom of his chin with a curious expression on his face.

Kimiko "Kim" Takahashi
Location:
Cafeteria
Interactions: @Void_Nugget (Jack West)

Kim was in her chat with Tsugikuni as another figure seemed drawn to their table who seemed to ask for permission to sit with them, Kim was normally not the type to comment on the subject she figured that someone should provide clarification to the newcomer to the table.

"I take no offense, there are open spaces so make yourself at home." Kim replied, as she wondered if this young man was also invited by the sort of puppeteer who had caused her to be guided to this spot, though he currently seemed lost in conversation with that spider guy not that she had the full details of that. Though as she sipped her water she figured it was only fair to give a name to the young man so he had a reference if nothing else.

"Takahashi. Kimiko Takahashi is the name, though I'd prefer if you referred to be as Kim." Kim said with her sort of formal introduction.

Cinead
"Oh, no! Hearing voices ain't weird. I mean, whenever we think, we read out our thoughts with a lil' voice, don't we? Like a narrator but inside our heads."
Cinead smiled, staring at a bit of fire on his finger.

"A formal woman? Hmmm......Like, business-like? Maybe you met the Principal, and she's just REALLY short for her age. Now that I think about it, I don't know anything about the Principal. Wonder when she'll show up, huh? Anytime soon? I'm gettin' real tired-like...Y'know? Long day."

He yawned, bringing the fire dangerously close to his nose as he covered his mouth with his hand.

"All this food is so delicious...Might have me mum licked...But don't tell her I said that..."

Putting his chin in his hand, Cinead's eyes wandered the Cafeteria. Then he made eye contact with his friend. "You sure do stutter a lot. Not that I'm tryin' ta make fun of ye or anything! I'm just noting it." He waved his other hand in the air next to him, his whole face turning pink with embarrassment. "Forget I mentioned it. My bad."

Isolde
Isolde's eyes got a bit watery. She felt terrible.

I'm a dirty liar....I'm a cheater! I just cheated this poor pleb out of his cat bed....

And now he's leaving...He's one of TWO WHOLE PEOPLE I've had a semi-normal conversation with! How am I supposed to make friends like Mother said if I lie and speak to them like that? I've got to apologize or he'll hate me...

Hanging her head in shame, Isolde looked straight down at the table and said,

".......S-Sorry......"

"I'm a dirty cheater....I-I used my power to w-win...I can, uh, see through lies..."

"And I kind of knew the entire time you were lying about the demon thing but I still cheated you out of your possessions because I wanted the bed...."

Isolde started handing him items off the table. Despite her apology, she did not seem willing to relinquish the bed, and in fact stuffed it behind her back in an attempt to have him forget about it.

"I r-realize that it wasn't really a f-fair deal...I-I'm sorry....I understand if you're mad..."

What's wrong with me? Isolde thought. I'm no better than a common thief...And I acted shamefully...Why the heck did I say those things earlier?
She pushed on her cheeks to flush the thoughts away (as her mother said) and looked around.

"Uh- I guess you've got to go back to your friends now...I-I'm just some strange rich kid....Ahaha..."

"Uhm....B-Bye...."

The Best Policy

Come on come on come on! The boy pleaded inwardly with gritted teeth. With each glitch of the now unstable portal, he felt the weight of his own limitations crashing down on him like a ton of bricks.

...Even after all this time, this is still all I can manage?! How the heck am I gonna survive in a place like this if this is my level?

Cursing his powerlessness, Orion was on the verge of giving up when Isolde's hums had pierced through the chaos like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day..

"Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!" Orion's exclamation echoed through the cafeteria, drawing curious glances from nearby students. "You - you can see through people's lies? For real for real? That's how you won?"

At this point Isolde began mumbling something else at far too low a level for Orion to pick up, but he quickly realized this also meant that she must've known about his fraudulent identity the entire time!

"To think there'd be so many people here with all these wild, wacky, incredible abilities..." He whispered, the stress of keeping the gateway afloat still evident on his expression but his eyes wide with wonder.

Then, his eyes turned back to Isolde, who had now started handing him the items on the table. For a while, he was stood there with a blank expression on his face, unsure of what to do.

Eventually, though, he allowed his mind to take the backseat, giving way to his truest inner feelings.

"...This place rocks!" He smiled, taking the items that Isolde was handing him and plopping them through the portal with a flourish.

"Mad? How could I be?! If I had an ability as cool as that, I'd wanna use it all the dang time too!" He reassured his newest companion. " Forget the cat bed; you can take anything you want, Ms. Barley; so long as you're pushing that awesome power of yours to the limit!"

Part of Orion wondered where all this energy was coming from. After hearing that Isolde had 'cheated' him out of the game, he'd expected to feel some sort of anger, or indignation at having been duped. Especially since he was usually the duper and never the dupee.

Still, when he searched his heart, there was no resentment, no anger... only an all-consuming fascination, zeal, and excitement.

So much excitement!

More excitement than he knew what to do with!

It was a feeling of levity and lightness that he hadn't felt since that one time he accidentally discovered he could fit his entire body into a bean bag chair. Using his newfound inspiration as a source of power, Orion took deep breaths and concentrated, stabilizing the passageway as much as possible as he and Isolde tossed the last few items through it.

A few moments later, and cafeteria table was once again clear, the only remnants of their herculean endeavour being the wispy clouds of dust wafting through the air, and the light scent of lemon room fragrance.

"A-All done!" Orion panted, sinking into his chair. No more portals for a while; ideally, for the rest of the day. Another reminder to be more cautious with bringing an entire warehouse's worth of items across, he supposed.

Their task now finished, Isolde looked around the cafeteria timidly and pushed onto her cheeks. She appeared deep in thought, soon enough encouraging Orion to go back to Tsugikuni and the other girl, who he'd later learn was named Kim.

Orion glanced over that way himself, noticing that Jake of all people had somehow meandered his way over there.

Ignoring the shiver down his spine, he turned back to Isolde.

"Good idea, strange rich kid!" He declared with a playful twinkle in his eye.

"Let's head back together! Then, we can use that nifty power of yours to find out if Jake's a natural blonde or if he's been in cahoots with a bottle of bleach all this time! Oh, and we can ask that girl if her skincare routine involves sorcery or just good genetics. Seriously, I could see my reflection in that forehead! After that, we'll..."

Now enraptured by his visions of a world where the line between truth and lie was made clear as day, Orion circled round the table and grabbed Isolde's shoulders. Then, with his ramblings still filling the air, he started to push her like a shopping trolley toward his previous table.

Interactions: Isolde (@Inkage)

Stupefied from her thoughtful countenance, Isolde flinched from the strange man's yell, looking around to find eyes all over.

Slinging her overlarge sleeves over her head, she flushed at the indirect attention drawn by her....Whatever he was at this point.

I hate this place...Why couldn't I have gone to a NORMAL boarding school...?

She flushed a bit more at what the man said after that, plonking her forehead on the table. She did not deign to reply, instead silently handing him the next item on the table.

Pushing the limit...? But I just used one of the basic functions....

She continued to help him until all the other objects disappeared, leaving naught but a cloud of dust that caused Isolde to sneeze. She felt a bit proud, for some reason, feeling as if she had just finished cleaning up her room. A sense of accomplishment filled her, and Isolde lifted her head off the table, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"....Uhm....Uh...A-Are you alright...? You seem....T-Tired. P-Power overuse...?" Isolde cocked her head, concerned for....For...Who?

....Do I...Not know his name...? I feel like he would have said it...But I don't think he did...

"Uh....A-Are you sure you don't need to calm d-down...S-Sir? I d-don't even think I a-actually got your name..."

Isolde was practically mumbling to herself, for the purple fellow had already moved on and was in fact energetically crossing the table. Isolde didn't quite catch the first part, but she heard the second part pretty clearly, as it was punctuated by him putting her hands on her.

Isolde blushed as red as a tomato. A boy. TOUCHING HER?

"Wha- H-Huh- W.....HUH!?! H-Head back o-over into a group of people? W-Wait, no, I meant you! I-I can't t-talk to o-other p-people! Especially n-not a....g-group..."

Her protests apparently went unheard, as she was dragged all the way over to a group of people. A rather strange group, too.

The first one she noticed was rather appropriately described as a blonde. His eyes were a rather dull green, but pretty in a hard to notice way. She was scared of him.

The next was a boy with stark, bright yellow eyes. They pierced Isolde's soul with their clarity, and she looked away quickly. She was very scared of him.

The last, and probably the worst, was a girl who held herself with poise. Oh no.
Isolde, somehow, knew this person, but not directly. The distinct purple eyes, the jet black hair....This had to be a Takahashi.
Isolde's father often liked to ramble about other rich people's business, and he seemed to take a distinct interest in the affairs of a foreign hero line; The Takahashi's, known for a certain class that escaped most people.

"There's a girl who's about your age, apparently, destined to take the family mantel," her father had said in a particularly long lecture about how insufferable he found the Takahashi's despite the fact that he had never met them before. "I am afraid that people really only chatter about her potential and whatnot. Hogwash! Give me something weighty!"

Isolde had tuned out the girl's name and everything, but she was still familiar with what she apparently looked like, described to Isolde by her father.

"They're all full of themselves, with their raven hair and delicate features. Not to mention those eyes. They think they're on top of the world. I might be able to find a clipping, perhaps? Let me look..."

He didn't find a picture, and Isolde certainly didn't think that her father was the best judge of who was full of themselves or not. Even without his warnings that allowed Isolde to recognize anyone with even a scrap of fame, Isolde would still have been extremely wary. She was VERY scared.

...I'm starting to hate the color purple...

Isolde waited for whatever thing Orion would say about her, wishing she never went to this school. Isolde refused to look at the occupants of the table any further.

She felt like throwing up.

Braedyn sighed. Nothing to do. Well, besides get into another fight, but he would be pulled out unless he started one. Besides, his nose was already half-broken. He didn't know where Dean was. Probably over with that guy with the eyepatch. Probably. He couldn't see Dean with some random people in the way. He just decided to look around. He saw some girl with a guy who was probably royalty (keyword probably), some shortass that looked like Hayden, a black guy with dreadlocks in a ponytail for some reason, an eldritch horror, a fairy, a Takahashi, pretty much everything. Then he just started sleeping randomly. He was tired as fuck.

WHAT'S UP DANGER-
Miles finally decided to swing back to Orion and his group of misfits. Sure, he was a misfit, but let's be real, he felt normal here. Problem is, he still wasn't used to web-slinging. He hung directly above Orion and his other friends. And he was still swinging. He tried to land behind them, and, let's be honest, it worked pretty well. He landed a couple metres behind Orion, walked up to him and tapped his shoulder, only to cloak himself immediately. Perfect.

Elsewhere...

"Five dollars says 'alf the place is in flames."

"Make it five hundred and maybe I'll consider it."

A tall woman with huge, snowy wings and a curious-looking puppet promenaded along the vibrant halls of the academy, the click and clack of the former's heels echoing throughout the space. As they approached their destination, sounds of laughter and silverware began to grow louder and louder.

It was almost time.

Orion

Once the explorer had returned to his table with his quarry in tow, he took another glance around the table. Tsugi seemed to have settled into a comfortable rhythm, his expression as calm (well, calmer) and serene as a lakeside forest in spring.

He noticed something similar with the girl, though her eyes still had a sharp quality to them, as though she had finished appraising him and found him lacking in...whatever the metric units for class were. Chin elevation, perhaps?

Either way, it seemed they'd settled into a comfortable flow of conversation whilst Orion was gone. Today, ice-breaking conversations in the cafeteria. Tomorrow, engagement rings and a stag party in Shinjuku, baby!

Jake was...also definitely there, his sharp features washed over with a coolness that truly did befit a prince, an observation that became especially apparent as he spoke to the group.

In fact, now that he was seeing the three of them together, they looked like peas in a pod!

In another lifetime, Orion imagined this easily could have been a meeting between three sovereigns, discussing war plans or ancient prophesies or something epic like that. What would Orion have been? Their intrepid navigator? Daring seafarer?

...Or perhaps a simple court jester? He quickly decided he'd rather not think about it.

Fantasies aside, Orion turned his attention to his secret weapon only to notice that she'd completely bricked. If she was trying to do her best statue impression, it was a good thing our explorer had the world record staff on speed dial. Except for her eyes, the uncanny shades of blue and yellow darting and speeding around the table as though constructing a lightning-fast analysis of each and every single atom present in her view. Who was she, the Terminator?

Orion was about to ask if Isolde was in need of any laxatives (he'd recently learned where to acquire a lifetime supply) when he felt something tap at his back. Only, when he turned around, there was nothing there. Weird. Did someone throw something? Was Andrew or someone else playing a prank?

Yeah, perhaps not that last one. He mused to himself while still looking around. 'Andrew' and 'Prank' go together about as well as 'Horses' and me! Speaking of, don't I have that court appearance next month...?

By the time he'd turned back around, Jake was sharing his liking of everyone's powers and...shared his own.

One of his powers transformed people he kissed into what, Hulk Hogan? Then his other power was taking notes from Justin Bieber? Orion had expected mind control or even something kind of embarrassing, like the ability to summon a flock of angry geese on command.

Still, if there was anything Isolde had taught Orion thus far, it was that the coolest things could come in the most unassuming packages! Speaking of...

"You might have to sing us a lullaby before bedtime!" Orion joked, before gesturing to Isolde. "This is... well, why dontcha go ahead and introduce yourself, m'lady?"

If Isolde was going to be the omniscient master Orion saw in her, she'd need to get out of her shell and talk to people. And who better to talk to than other elegant, probably rich people? Surely they'd all met at the country club before. A few discussions about water polo and taxes, and they'd all be best friends, he was sure of it.

Now, about that sensation he felt on his back earlier...

Marcel looked over when Fuyuko mentioned where Melanie was. He nodded and smiled, before then looking back to Fuyuko. “I see. I shall keep that in mind.” Marcel smiled before he pulled up another video. This one, seemed like one that Marcel liked a lot. “This one is my…personal best song that I have ever done. Same night as the talent show, but for some reason this one didn’t get disqualified from the competition. Maybe…it’s because it was just me solo and…the headmaster favored me a lot. Either or, this is…my personal favorite experience I ever did.” Marcel took a breath before composing himself. “Sorry, I’m so giddy, this is just…I get a smile every time I show anyone this.”

Marcel smiled as he played the video, it seemed to be just Marcel and a pianist on the stage, but…the sounds of other instruments could be heard, strings, brass, percussion. At the 1:06 mark, two curtains would open and the same symphony from their cover of Here comes revenge would be behind Marcel. Blue would be the color scheme of this song, as Marcel would just be by himself with the symphony. Marcel would sing and use his hands during the song, some of his actions would fit the lyrics of the song. Not to mention, Marcel would have a special suit for this performance.

Orion didn't see Miles. Fair enough. He cloaked pretty quickly, fairly enough. He then decided to get really up close to Orion, for whatever reason, and whisper "I'm in your balls".

"...crap, I meant walls," he'd add a few seconds later after uncloaking. He then proceeded to laugh uncontrollably. Funniest shit ever. But first, he needed to do something.

"Sorry, I couldn't resist," he eventually admitted, still chuckling, "Gotta admit, that was pretty funny though, huh?"

Then he noticed the group. Again.

"...was that bad timing?" he proceeded to ask.

"You have a...uniquely diverse skillset." Kim said back as the idea of this guy going around randomly kissing people was a thought she had not expected to have today, but he seemed to have a lot of support based abilities which could make him valuable in team events or situations which had not been nothing to sneeze at. "Suppose on my end I've been raised with my abilities and had them maximized from the start, so for me it is just normal." Kim clarified towards Jake.

However Orion seemed to arrive back to the table here, and seemed to set the stage for an introduction of another figure. One who seemed to be the shy type or least in some confliction if Kim had to guess but suppose it was bad to assume things of others. Isolde was the name apparently as Orion left her to do the introductions as Kim raised an eyebrow in waiting.

But soon Miles seemed to appear out of thing air, what did he like turn invisible? Could spiders even do that? Kim shook her head as she overheard his little "joke" and seemed to sigh as she seemed to be a bit annoyed at the juvenile slip of the tongue though perhaps not realized it was a slip of the tongue.

"I was wondering when a mood breaker would come to this convo." Kim said, as Miles and her seemed to be a bit of polar opposites and naturally Kim seemed to not have the best first impression of him...

Looks like someone didn't have a very good first impression of him. Naturally. People are critical. "Oh, jeez," he said to himself, "Every time." Then he took a deep breath and looked towards the girl calling him a mood breaker. "I admit, that was immature," he said, "Sorry if I offended you, and anyone else for that matter."

"...oh, I'm Miles Morales, by the way," he said, not knowing if anyone knew that or not (besides Orion, of course), but he said it anyway. Then he turned back to Orion. "I think I went a bit overboard," he said a little sarcastically, knowing he'd probably gone way overboard.

Isolde listened to the people around her, appearing like a mouse in a den of vipers. She flinched at the mentions of kissing, and snapped to focus upon seeing attention directed towards her.

Her face turned a distinct shade of pink, and she hid her face behind her sleeves.

"D-Don't look at me...." She said quietly. "D-Don't mind me..."

Isolde blindly groped her way into a chair, sitting down next to...someone. Upon seeing who it was, she almost jumped up again. Those deep purple pools grabbed her attention; there was a regal quality to them. The 'shiny' stranger's orbs were redirected towards another approaching threat; one who made juvenile jokes and appeared as if from nowhere. After a quick exchange with the purple eyed woman, he introduced himself as Miles.

Isolde did not pay him any mind. His eyes were a dull brown, with a wide, innocent appearance, but not much seemed to come from behind them. Intelligence, maybe, but not much depth that would cause Isolde to take note of him.

And besides, he scared her. The significant lack of depth that she saw in those eyes was uncommon, and the trait was only found in pupils she would never want to catch the gaze of. Loud people, or people who did not usually think things through.

Miles was apparently both.

Flashing a quick glare at Orion (Which seemed to be more of a scared plea), Isolde fully buried herself in her sleeves.

Well, at least Mr. Miles apologized. Not that it was Isolde's business.

Isolde had no intention of introducing herself, or engaging in conversation.

It was simply too scary.

Miles started talking to himself.

"Calm the hell down, people probably hate you already, you screwed up big-time, there's shit you don't know about these people, you know how bad you screwed up-"

His monologue was stopped when he noticed someone running directly towards him. Naked. All Miles did was web his groin to the ground. "All right, that was unexpected," he said a little quieter, "Random, but unexpected nonetheless." Then he tried to remember what he was doing. Crap, what was he doing? Talking to himself? Planning a massive prank? Showing off? Actually, he was probably doing the last one. Nope, he wasn't. Why couldn't he remember what he was doing.

"What was I doing before...?" he asked, "Crap, why can't I remember things all of a sudden?!" He almost knocked himself out by slapping himself.

"Bad idea," he mentioned to himself, "Note to self: try to think things through next time." He didn't notice a futuristic-looking device of whatever kind falling out if his pocket before he turned to the girl he'd accidentally scared. Isolde, ladies and gentlemen

Orion waited for Isolde to introduce herself to the table.

A quick little, "Hey, my family's named after a cereal grain, my mother's a model, and I can peek into the deepest, darkest depths of your soul! What tax bracket are you in?" would’ve been perfect. That'd give our explorer something funny to work off of, and boom! Instant bonding.

Instead, for what felt like an eternity, he clapped his hands together, shifted his weight from foot to foot, and swung his torso to and fro—anything to distract himself from the severe lack of introducing happening.

Kim and the others were looking their way expectantly, and the silence was becoming so thick it could have been cut with a butter knife. Orion was a firm believer that silences were only awkward if you let them be, but even he was struggling with this one.

Just when he felt like he was going to spontaneously combust from sheer embarrassment, Isolde finally decided to make a move! Unfortunately, it wasn't the move he'd hoped for.

Like a fifth grader who'd just been told that the Tooth Fairy was on vacation, she turned an impressive shade of pink and squeaked out a plea to be left alone. Then, she scurried over to find a seat next to Kim, where Orion had been sitting when he and Tsugikuni first arrived.

Orion blinked, his mind racing to catch up with the situation.

"Oh geez..." Orion sighed, dragging a palm down his exasperated face. In all fairness, this would’ve been a big leap for her, even if she had stuff in common with these guys. She did seem pretty timid until...until...

If a lightbulb popped up over someone's head every time they had an idea, then Orion would have had the sun itself floating above him in that moment. Just as he formulated a game plan, he heard a comment about spherical objects whispered directly into his ear—confirming his suspicion. Orion had a feeling that he was behind that sensation earlier.

"Pretty funny?" Orion echoed, unimpressed as he turned around to meet Miles, who was laughing his head off. "Yeah, maybe when we were five! Get with the times already, eh?"

Kim had put it best, and though a part of Orion did see Miles as somewhat of a kindred spirit in terms of appearance and temperament, he needed to be taught how to channel all that creative prankster energy into something cool, something worthwhile—like setting up an intricate web maze for the faculty to navigate during their morning coffee runs. Nothing says 'good morning' like a surprise labyrinth!

Still, it seemed Miles had been taken down one too many notches by the Princess' reprimand. Dude looked like he was ready to paint his eyelashes black and start a garage band.

"Don't sweat it," Orion smiled, hanging his arm around the webslinger. "Just keep learning from your mistakes, and one day maybe you'll be as good as me!"

After a few moments, he couldn't help but chuckle.

"Okay, might have oversold it there. Let's be real—I'm a once-in-a-generation kinda thing. You could always be number two, though! The Vegeta to my Kakarot! The Donkey to my Shrek! The Pinkie Pie to my Twilight Sparkle—NOT that I know anything about that show for little girls, I mean why w-would I? Hahaha..."

It was in the midst of his clearly Oscar-worthy denial that a distinct mix of yellow and blue flashed across his peripherals. When he looked at Isolde, her glance wandered as she hid behind her sleeves. He frowned. Why was she so...shy? She was a walking lie detector, for Pete's sake!

For all his...quirks, Arachna-man over here seemed like he was his truest, most authentic self regardless of who was nearby.

In fact, the wallcrawler in question had started mumbling to himself like some kinda nutbag! And speaking of nuts, from across the cafeteria, it looked like it was someone's birthday and they wanted opinions on their suit—Miles' opinion specifically, if the trajectory they were moving at was any indication.

At this point, Orion didn't even try to fake his surprise. First a crack in his skull and now this; this Miles guy would certainly make life interesting, if nothing else.

"...Yeah, that's all you, buddy." He patted Miles on the shoulder and turned back toward the table, hoping that whatever was going on behind him would vanish and disappear completely. He turned his attention toward Isolde, putting the final pieces of his plan together.

Today, he was going to help Isolde bring out her true self a little more—just like a certain someone had once done for him.

A New Game

It was ironic that this entire plan necessitated that Isolde kept quiet and played along, given that the whole aim here was to get her out of her shell.

Regardless, Orion had found that life's little ironies and humors were what kept the magic alive. That's what he had convinced himself of by this point in time anyway.

He leaped over to Isolde's side and faced the table.

"This right here is the one, the only, Isolde Baaaaarley!" He declared as if announcing the name of a heavyweight champion. "She's the heir of the honorable house Barley!"

Orion shared eye contact with everyone at the table before continuing.

"As a lady of such high esteem, she sees it fit to speak through me, her...um...new retainer during her time at Karma! Anyway, the reason why she brought me over here is simple." He drank in the moment, before delivering the bombshell.

"She wants to challenge us to a duel! In fact, she isn't challenging just anybody, she's particularly after YOU!"

There was only one person at the table who could work here. Tsugikuni and Jake seemed too cool-headed to get riled up by something like this, and Miles was...apparently unconscious, if the lightning-fast basketball that just crashed into his head was any indication.

Though they'd barely exchanged words, Orion instantly knew that she was the only one who might accept such a challenge.

"You, my fair lady, have been challenged to a duel!" He spoke to Kimiko while pointing dramatically at her. "And not just any duel, a duel of the mind, to test your wits against my lady's!"

Orion could feel the anticipation building in the room. This was his moment, and he was determined to make it memorable.

Taking stock of their reactions, Orion turned back to Isolde and winked imperceptibly as if to say, "I got this!" And he really, truly believed he did.

"The rules of the game are simple," he began, putting on his best butler voice that he'd been mentally training for a few minutes now. "You are to craft three statements about yourself. Two shall be true, and one shall be false. If my master is able to deduce which of the statements is a lie in... ten short seconds, you are declared the loser!"

Okay, ten seconds might've been a bit much. But he wouldn't have said that if he didn't genuinely believe in Isolde's abilities. Now that he thought about it, even this wasn't enough - he needed to add some stakes.

"If you lose, my raven-haired highness, you are to... well, you are to verbally admit that the Isolde family is the most honorable house in the world! F-Furthermore, you are to join me as one of her retainers, known under the humble moniker of 'The Barley Bunch.'"

Yes. Good. Keep going, O-man! Fan those flames!!

"And, in the impossible scenario that you win the game, my master will... let's see...."

Orion glanced slightly nervously at Isolde before gritting his teeth, bracing himself. If this whole thing went south, he knew he'd never be hearing the end of it. Heck, if it went exactly as planned, he'd never be hearing the end of it. Such is the life of an underappreciated genius.

"In the unlikely event that you win, my master will personally release $5,000 of her own wealth into your hands as a boon for besting her. And... and the luxury cat bed currently in her possession will also be gifted as an add-on!!"

He spoke the second part so quickly that he dreaded if Kim would ask him to repeat. He couldn't bring himself to look at Isolde, instead opting to look straight ahead. The money was one thing; he was sure he could find ways to gather that amount of cash, as large as it was.

But that second item...

This was bold—even for him. But for some reason, that dumb old cat bed had gotten Isolde excited. It had, even if for only a moment, beckoned the real her out of that unassuming shell. He silently prayed it would do the same for her now.

"D-Do you find these terms agreeable? Or do you admit my lady's intellect to be leagues above your own?"

Kim seemed to finally get a proper introduction of the guy, Miles, who seemed to realize that he was off to the wrong foot with her. Course given Kim's background she found many to be lacking in what should be such a basic quality, but he least seemed apologetic about his juvenile act as she sighed a bit to address him.

"Understanding one's mistakes and short comings is the first step, I accept the apology. Kimiko Takahashi. Though you may refer to me as Kim." Kim said as she introduced herself with the expected formality towards the young man.

Then focus shifted to the new girl, who seemed to bury herself in her jacket as Kim wondered if Orion had sort of lured her to the table against her will. Seemed he tried to "invite" everyone to this spot given her own experience though honestly her being this shy in such a setting had made Kim wonder how she intended to survive her school journey.

"Believe she may not be much of a talker." Kim said to Orion, perhaps as a subtly way to nudge him for this rather impulsive meeting he had arranged, then Miles began to talk to himself again as he seemed just a mess as he somehow seemed to knock himself out and Kim seemed to feel her expectations for this school having dropped rather quickly.

Between this little reckless match maker, this stumbling fool and the girl trying to live in her jacket, is this place really supposed to be for the elite?

As she finished that thought, Orion seemed to speak up. First to affirm her point about time and place with these "jokes" to Miles as least he seemed to understand that humor was something unfitting them at this age. Though she rolled her eyes as he called himself a one in a generation talent which to her remained to be seen though her focus quickly shifted.

To a challenge of all things.

Kim seemed momentarily perplexed as Orion had done Isolde's introduction for her and seemed to be her "retainer" as she seemed to come from the Barley Family which had rung a bell to Kim; she recalled her father had done business with them in the past but had not personally met anyone of that line.

Him being her retainer seemed a shock, somewhat skeptically but the conditions of this challenge were wild.

Her intellect and wit was being challenged, with Orion a step away from insulting her directly to talk up his "master" here as he presented a little challenge here. She would craft three statements of herself, a lie among two truths, and if she could discern what was the lie within a 10 second window then she'd have to admit to Isolde and the Barley Family's superiority as well as serve as her retainer!

The shame if her family heard this, of being the Heir to her family and having to live with this shame...she'd never be able to look herself in the mirror!

But at the same time she couldn't back down, she was a Takahashi after all and anyone making the presumption of their wit and their character being inferior to another's was an admission of failure and her family had raised her that failure was an unacceptable offense. Even now the words of her mother range into her ear...

"You have a duty as a Takahashi to represent the entire family, not merely yourself. Do not bring shame to our name."

Kim internally managed to keep a cool head even as her heart raced and as Orion finished outlining the conditions she seemed to meet a look of focus towards him. "If you presume such terms scare me, then you really do underestimate the Takahashi Family. If this really is what your lady wants, I accept the terms." Kim said as she seemed to accept the challenge!

Me? No, I'm basically a dog, though I guess I'm kind of like a werewolf, except I don't change forms really, I mean I sometimes go a little feral but never really change I'm just kind of always a dog-girl, although maybe my dad was a werewolf, mum never told me much about him" she rambled on, her tail wagging so fast she might take off, "is your brother also a werewolf like you, he doesn't smell the same, kinda similar but that might just be cause your siblings" she said, cooking her head slightly.

"Nope. I'm a Cryomancer." Having finished eating, Isaac decided he should introduce himself to the newcomer. "I'm Isaac, Ilya's twin brother and keeper, according to my parents."
"It's nice to see another canid around here!" Ilya's tail was wagging about as fast Tandy's as she hugged her. "Too bad you can't change into an actual dog though. Then again, I always have to have a spare outfit on hand for when I change back so maybe that's a good thing?"
Isaac sighed. "Don't even get us started on the first few times she did change back without any clothes in a fairly public place. She roped me into her punishment for three months because, apparently I have to make sure she has an outfit and privacy to change. Not fun."

Isolde looked around wildly as she was introduced. Vassal? That was certainly pushing it. And furthermore, her 'vassal' followed his introduction by antagonizing the most powerful figure at the table.

With a duel proclamation in Isolde's name and honor. This day could not be going worse.

What's more, he staked a large amount of money and property on the bet! and Isolde's precious bed!

And the cherry on top- Kim agreed! now it would be impossible to cancel the duel without making the mood awkward.
"E-excuse me," Isolde said, perfectly pissed and somewhat desperate. Addressing her new enemy with pink cheeks, Isolde said "I'm sure you k-know how some servants get, with their mouths running, yes? Uhm....."

Isolde was on the verge of saying that the bet was off, but her honor, as buried as it was, roared for her to move forward. Isolde couldn't bring herself to nip the interaction in the bud. A duel, after all, was a duel.

Instead, Isolde tried a different tack.
"H-How about we...change the conditions? I'm not perfectly satisfied with them."

"How about we increase the sum of money? And in exchange, the...um...vassal thing goes away?"
Isolde thought that she had enough on her hands, having to be honorably responsible for her new 'vassal'. Isolde didn't need another one. "I-I'm not looking to smear your honor, or anything...y-yeah, we should just bet money, it's...safer..."

"A-actually, nevermind...if you're fine with the terms already, you can just...i-ignore what I just said.." Isolde covered her head with her sleeves, watching her opponent's eyes for a response. "Just start, after you reply...I've got a vassal to strangle after all this," she said, glaring at Orion for getting her into this mess.

But on the other hand, now she had an excuse to stay close to him. Even if he was chaotic, Isolde supposed it was better to be around someone who knew you than a complete stranger. And a fuzzy feeling spread in her head- a weird feeling of...pride, maybe? Isolde dismissed the feeling- why should she be proud?

Proud in her ability to deceive a stranger?

Or perhaps she should be proud because of her ability?

Either way, Isolde didn't pay any mind to it. For all she knew, her power would fail her.

She even failed at talking normally, after all.

As Kim had accepted the challenge, it seemed that Isolde seemed to speak up as Kim sensed that not everything her "retainer" had made mention of was approved by her and even offered a way to sort of lighten the deal to just some monetary raise which Kim seemed thankful for. N-not that she was worried of course, that would be silly but this new little compromise seemed to suit her just fine as she nodded along.

"Fair enough. I was given a modest allowance for this venture at the school. So I should have enough to anty up." Kim said as she agreed to the terms internally relieved the more shameful aspects of the bet seemed off the table.

Not that again she'd be worried about losing of course.

Either way with the guidelines set Kim thought over what she wanted her lie and two truths to be, all of them had to sound believable as she took but a minute to work it over in her head before she seemed to finally settle on what she wanted to say as she faced Isolde.

"Alright, here are the 3 statements: First, I won a pet pig at a carnival that I named Captain Porkers. Second, the lowest grade I ever received prior to arriving here was an A-. Third, I began training with my powers when I was four years old. Which statement is the lie?" Kim asked, as her tone was even with each of the statements and she seemed to hold equal conviction behind all 3 of the claims.

Isolde's eye flashed as she once again divined the truth hidden among the lies. Had she been a normal person, she would've never guessed that Kim had once owned a pig. Isolde flinched, stunned a bit out of her shyness. The lie had in fact been...
"You lied about your grades. You have received a grade lower than an A."
Isolde let out a sigh that was akin to laughter. "C-Captain porkers? You must've been quite young to name a pig that. And I am not at all surprised that you've been training from a young age. Most people do need proper training to properly use their powers. Not me, however. Mine is ingrained." Isolde smiled a tad and tapped the skin around her skin. "I apologize again for my humble servant's rash actions. This competition would've been impossible to win anyhow...my powder allows me to 'see' the truth, so in truth, he was trying to swindle you out of a large sum of money and your rightful inheritance. Luckily one of us has the sense in this relationship, hmm?"
Isolde thought again about how she could've stayed quiet about her powers and cheated this scary, poor woman, grounding her back to reality. She flushed, hiding her face in her sleeves again. "U-Um...h-humblest a-apologies..." Embarrassed as she was, Isolde wasn't quite sure what exactly she was apologizing for. She decided to latch onto the first slight she thought of.
"P-Porkers is a fine name...I d-didn't mean to...insult it..."

Kim waited to see what this girl would guess, though her moment of what she presumed laughter at the name Captain Porkers as she had to twist the urge to get defensive about that. However, she realized then that the girl almost guessed immediately her actual lie and her eyes widened in surprise with this.

"How did you..." Kim said, and it was true the lowest grade she ever got was not an A- as she was forced to concede. "...yes, I disgraced myself and got a B once. My family still holds that over me." Kim said, which between that and the training she's had at a young age seemed to paint a picture that she had quite the strict family to put it lightly.

Still though Isolde seemed to come clean about this as Kim got the clarification, and this essentially was a rigged game from the start and her "retainer" knew this as Isolde seemed to apologize and once the shock passed a look of annoyance seemed to cross the face of the girl though its gaze was not on the girl ahead of her.

"No need to apologize, I understand this was not your decision. Some people should learn not to take people's ignorance as a means to exploit them..." Kim said as she cast a glare to Orion. "...a-and thank you, I am sure he'd enjoy the flattery if he were here." Kim said, a softer tone of voice in refernece to Captain Porkers as part of her had wondered if she'd campaign to bring her companion to the school but she'd let that thought pass for another day.

At the moment, she worked to finish her lunch as she sensed more fun misadventures waited for her on this day...whether she wanted them or not.

(@Cmeriwether I’ll send all details to you)
"Wow, he's impressive, I'll make sure to protect him if it comes down to it," Fuyuko whispered under her breath, "I hope my personal defenses don't get in my way."

Fuyuko looked at the phone screen, listening to the performance. She was impressed, and was figuring that this took a lot of preparation and coordination. As she listened, she wondered why he picked this as the song. The Unforgiven III. She then looked at Marcel, with a genuine smile. Her question was pretty much how he got the symphony to join him. She was pretty much Feared at her old school, especially after the Francesca Incident.

"H-how d-did y-you r-recruit t-the s-symphony?" Fuyuko was still a bit nervous, "T-this i-is g-genuinely i-impressive."

"Help! Whats going on with me?" Fuyuko was thinking, "Why is this young man so cute? He seems sweet, enthusiastic, and helpful. I want to bond more before I act on this."

Fuyuko was oddly not as confident as normal. She's had a bit of a bad history with boys running for the hills after they learned of her feelings for them. She hoped he won't do the same, but from what he's done so far, she's hopeful.

It worked.

It freaking worked.

The girl, who had introduced herself to Orion, Miles, and Isolde as Kimiko Takahashi, fell for it hook, line, and sinker! Now, there was just one piece of the puzzle left.

"Excellent!" Orion cheered, clapping his hands together like a game show host. "Now, what saith our fair lady?"

Isolde avoided eye contact with Orion, instead addressing her new rival. She started by commenting on how mouthy her 'servants' could get, causing Orion to stifle a laugh. He had self-appointed himself, after all. Would 'retainer' have been so strenuous to say? Eh, probably not. But the semantics didn’t matter.

What did matter was whether Isolde would rise to the challenge.

And rise she did! Not only was she following through, she decided to up the cash bet?! Woah! Now things were getting juicy!

Though she kinda flaked out at the end and let Kim decide the terms. Still, if Kim had shown anything, it was that she wasn't one to back down from a challenge, even if it came out of left field. She was the best type of rich person—the predictable kind.

Of course, Isolde had thrown in a casual comment about 'strangling a vassal' or something. Orion wasn't worried. If anything, Isolde would be thanking him in a few minutes. And if she wasn't, well...with no more portalling, he just hoped she wasn't as quick as she was petite.

Life-threatening scenarios aside, Kim acted as expected and agreed to the new terms. All good. Orion grinned and gave his full attention to Kim, who began to speak her truths and a lie. The best part about this game? You learn so much about the other person, even if you lose. No, especially if you lose. Though losing here would be really inconvenient, Orion had complete faith in Isolde to pull through.

Worst case scenario, he consoled himself, I hear Comet Trail's still accepting applicants based on recommendation! Though, I'd have to come back here for my dorm stuff at some point...eh, it'll be fine.

With his Plan B sorted, Kim's voice broke through his ruminations. The game had started.

Given Kim's temperament, Orion wasn't expecting much from her statements. Sure, with money on the line, she'd try to make them a bit more difficult to distinguish, but come on—how wild could it really get? Here's what Orion was predicting:

  1. "My personal helicopter pilot was fired for daring to serve me non-vintage champagne during a flight."
  2. "I don't acknowledge weekends because every day is a vacation when you're this wealthy."
  3. "For my 14th birthday, I was gifted an entire private island, which I named 'Kimtopia.'"
Out of those, he'd reckoned the third statement would be the lie. Private island was definitely more of a 'sweet sixteen' kind of affair.

But credit where credit's due—Kim's actual statements were only slightly less ridiculous than he'd imagined.

He had to really try not to burst out laughing at the first statement. A pet pig called Captain Porkers? Was she even trying? The other two were pretty on-brand—something about her lowest grade being an A, which sounded true, and then her starting her power training at four years old.

"Four years old? That's one heck of a childhood," Orion commented. His powers hadn't even manifested at four. He couldn't imagine a miniature Kim running around doing...whatever it was her power did.

Once Kim confirmed her statements, Orion wanted to lean over and give Isolde the obvious answer, but thought better of it. He was only a vassal, not an active participant in the game. Plus, he doubted Isolde even needed her super-special lie detection powers for this one. The lie was just too dang blatant!

Which was why he almost screamed once it was revealed that the second statement had been the lie. Kim had, at some point, received a big fat B. Meaning...

For the next few minutes, Orion was fighting the battle of his life not to crumble into hysterics. Alas, some fights are never meant to be won, because before long, he'd completely lost composure and fell onto the dining table, howling with laughter.

"You...you mean...you have a PIG?! A pig named...CAPTAIN PORKERS?!!" He gasped between breaths before tossing and turning with laughter. This was too good to be true—but if Isolde had divined it, then it had to be correct.

Eventually, he slowly raised his head and wiped his teary eyes, sighing, "Oh man, that was too good. Oh right, guess I'd better explain—you don't actually owe us any money, you see, it was all an elaborate plan to—"

He turned to Kim to notice the atmosphere had frozen at least three times over in the space of a few seconds. Frozen? No, it was more like—more like there was a chill down his spine. Kimiko was glaring daggers at Orion, and there was definitely no trading of money going on. That's when he realized that, while he was rolling around performing his best Joker impression, Isolde had already cleared up everything before he could.

Oh dear.

"I—um—ah, I-I was gonna tell you, you know, but the whole thing with..." He paused to control the laughter threatening his speech. "M-Mr. Porkers...came out, and I just couldn't—"

It was too late. Kimiko had returned her attention back to lunch and left Orion to his stammering. He sighed. It looked like he'd need to work to reclaim his role as Best Man at Tsugi's wedding a few years from now—but save all that for later. He had a winner to congratulate!

"See! I knew you could do it!" he applauded toward Isolde. "I tell you, you're one mean fox! With a power like that, you're going places!"

He performed a surreptitious glance at Kim before whispering the next part.

"I had her totally fooled! She really thought I was your retainer, or some junk! Easy pickings, huh?"

With a Sigh, the World moved onwards past this time of meeting, companionship, and… opening.

The principal arrived in the cafeteria soon after, showing off her enormous wings- likely related to one of her powers. Regardless, she introduced everyone to the different houses in the school, and assisted everyone in how they would navigate their dorm life and future school days. Her authority was powerful, but she did not seek unkind either.

In any regard, the students, with friends or without, returned to their dorms to fraternize and lay themselves to rest in anticipation of the coming day- the first proper day of classes, and the first proper day of their new lives here a Karma High School.

That evening, as the students shut their eyes and allowed themselves to drift into the oblivion of sleep… a thick grey mist would expand over the school grounds, an ominous wreath that shimmered in the light of the gibbous moon above.

And then, the next morning… alarms would beep, students would rouse themselves from their torpor, and begin preparing themselves for a new day… a new day where they would once more be put through challenges- though not simply social. After all, this was a prestigious school… and things would begin to hike up from the first day all the way to the last.

Nera Vasquez

Nera would feel a numbness in her fingertips as her stark crimson eyes opened. She always seemed to wake up on her own, never setting alarms…

She laid there, and stared mindlessly at the ceiling, her body still clothed in her outfit from the previous day, and her mascara was crumbled around her eyelids… her eyes stared forward, quiet as the step of a mouse as her fingers gently twitched, and the rest of the world, while awake and active, was just a dull roar in her ears… she could feel… and hear… nothing outside of her own body…

Her lungs filled with air as she shut her eyes again… and sat up.

Her hair was a mess. She needed to deal with that… with a dry yawn, and an absent sense of apathy, Nera strolled past Isolde’s bed and out the bedroom door, passing into the bathroom as she stuck her head under the sink, scratching the mascara out of her eyes… and not bothering to apply any more today. Drying off her face, she used a hairbrush to weed out the knots that crossed her dusty brunette hair.

"…"

Besides still wearing yesterday's clothes, she didn't look half bad at the moment…

"…morning."

Nera would say almost blankly to her dormmates, passing them by and changing into actual clothing. Her wear for the day was a sensible black t-shirt, covered by a beige jacket, a light one so she didn’t overheat, and sporty black shorts to accompany her tee. She pushed back her hair so it cascaded over the back of her jacket.

“…you all wanna head to breakfast with me?”

Tsugikuni Ginhoshi

As Tsugikuni’s dormmates would awaken with the rest of the world, they’d come across a strange sight as they all prepared for their first morning of classes-

Tsugikuni already appeared to be awake. With how silently he’d managed to wake up without disturbing anyone, it was even more stunning he was… currently doing stretches in light training clothing. Not mindful to the fact he now had an audience, he continued his morning training, taking deep breaths as he dipped into deep stretches, quickly dropping to the ground for push-ups… before bouncing back up onto his feet and quickly taking a swig of water…

“…oh? Morning everyone, apologies if my morning stretches and light workout disturbed any of you.”

He wiped off his brow with a towel… and immediately went to equip his clothing for that day- a pair of kaki shorts and a pale blue t-shirt with the logo of a Japanese rock band on it, he yawned softly as he took his sword off the wall, shrinking it back down to a simple pen, which he stored in the ornate sheath on his belt.

“How are all of you on this fine morning?”

Maya Aofumi

Maya’s eyes flickered open like a candle being lit, as she sat up and stretched, quickly examining her dorm, now sprung to life with the activity of Nori on her side, and the twins on the other. Today she decided she’d try to be a bit more active than she was yesterday- I mean, it was only fair that she was, she was rather plain without her masks.

Standing up out of her bed rather quickly, she stretched herself out like she was wringing out a towel. She fumbled a bit around her desk before finding her glasses, sliding them onto her face and blinking a few times to get in focus.

“Ahhh… morning everyone..!”

She said, her softer voice managing to more or less project through the room. She dressed in plain jeans and a sporty game tee, one for Mario Galaxy. Stepping towards the room exit, she peeked her head behind the privacy barrier between her side and the twins side, making a polite wave.

“Mornin’ girls~ I’m gonna go get freshened up, but do you wanna like, go to the cafeteria for breakfast today? Totally up to y’all if not though~!”

My, she seemed a bit more chipper today. Maybe just lingering regret from not being very standout yesterday, save for her power showcase.

Yawning, as she reached the bathroom, she swiped a hand over her face, allowing Celine to take over- she was better at making sure she was all freshened up than she was.

“Ohoho~! It shall be a grand day on stage today~ after all, I, Celine D'Aguessaeu, am here~”

Riley Deimi

“GOOOOD MORNING WORLD-!!!”

Riley sat up with her hair already bouncing like it was attached to a spring, her violet eyes sparking to life as she nearly flung herself out of bed, cheery as all-getout.

“Ahhh~! Today’s gonna be a great day! We’ve got our first day of classes and get to make new friends, what’s not to love? Good mooorning Pomelo~! And goood morning to my dear Amaryllis and Taco on the other side of this privacy barrier, I hope you’re all excited as me!”

Having rambled for so long, she had to catch her breath with a sharp exasperated inhale, grabbing her knees and laughing~

“Man, I gotta stop doing that… a-also sorry if I woke anyone up, h-hah~”

She flushed a little, rubbing the back of her head as she tried to calm herself back down, knowing that her overwhelming optimism sometimes got on people’s nerves. The swift equipping of dark purple sport shorts and a stark-white t-shirt made her outfit for the day pop, her infectious grin also equipped as she spit out her retainer into its case and was now finally ready for the day, minus bathroom prep of course.

“…mmm~ I’m actually really excited to meet everyone in our home room~ apparently, the class rosters are pretty similar, save for the house assignments… so regardless of anything, we’ll likely be seeing the same people between our classes, which is super cool…~”

“…”

“Anyways I get dibs on the bathroom first~!!!”

Not like anyone could really counter her claim, as she very rapidly sped into the bathroom and began to brush her teeth at double-pace! Whatever this girl was on, it certainly wasn’t drugs- cuz she just woke up.

Amaryllis
As Riley woke up quite loudly, Amaryllis shot up sluggishly before swiftly falling out of bed, the large jar of honey she had fallen asleep holding rolling away from her, the sound of the jar rolling briefly woke her up as she scrambled to grab the jar and sat with it for a moment, there wasn't much left but she stood up and walked out into the communal area with it. She listened to Riley, eating her honey as she watched the girl, "you certainly are very awake in the morning aren't you" she said slowly as she licked honey from her fingers "damn the honey I stole is running out already" she muttered to herself as she sat down to finish her honey l, she would get ready after she was done.

Jake
With a rather unelegant stretch Jake awoke, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he got up, slipped on some bunny slippers and strolled into the common area, in his night clothes which was a pair of baggy trousers and no shirt. He was met with a strange sight but certainly not a unwelcome one as he watched Tsugikuni with great interest, when his dormmate noticed his audience Jake shrugged with his usual grin, "hey I'm not complaining, I'm enjoying the show" he said with a wink before going to make himself a cup of tea.

Tandy
Waking up in her room that she had been allowed to keep after her official enrolment, with a quick stretch she quickly got into her energetic self and got ready and dressed, she made herself some breakfast which she ate while watching some random nature thing on her phone. When she was finished she made her way out and began to wonder to the first class, her tail wagging a clear sign of her excitement for the new day.

Pamela tried to think. What had happened last night? She was only half awake, her false bravado not kicking in yet. She rolled over groggily, checking her phone to check the time. Holding it up to her face, she squinted at it to try and see those goddamn glowing letters. Just as she started to make out that there were indeed numbers on her screen, she was shocked so badly that the device dropped from her hands and onto the floor. Riley had woken up half the world with a yell. Pamela jolted up and hit her head on the frame of the bunk. "Ow! What the h-" Pamela breathed in deeply, glaring at her bunkmate as she wished her good morning. "Why are you yelling? Didn't you learn common courtesy!?" Pamela rubbed the remaining sleep from her eyes and sighed. "Coffee..." she mumbled, shuffling her way across the floor. She scratched her head, her hair perfectly straight where she slept on it; a result of the fact that Pamela never rolled over once she fell asleep. probably needs combing...
Once Pamela had had a cuppa, she perked up, her eyes now clear are eerily piercing with their clarity. She had vaguely registered Riley talking about class, but alas, she was already in the bathroom. Go figure.
Spying Amaryllis in bed with a jar of honey, Pamela smiled and took the near empty jar from her hands, putting it on a counter so that she'd have to get up to get it. "Rise and shine, butterfly. Hopefully you slept good?" Pamela infected a motherly tone into her voice, hoping it would at least win her some affection points. Becoming the proverbial 'mother' of the group was an opportunity that would get Pamela a lot in the long run. "Kim?" Pamela said, testing the waters. Kim was probably the most dangerous of the group to Pamela; the least likely to naturally fall in line behind her. Pamela searched up Kim's last name- big line of heroes in Japan. She was slightly jealous. "I'm aware Riley probably woke you up, but I thought it would be good to let you know that school is starting soon, and missing breakfast would hinder your learning capacity for the day." Pamela smiled, carrying on in that same motherly tone as before. Looking back towards Amaryllis, Pamela said "I'm sure they'll have honey with breakfast. You can Steal some Honey then, hmm? I won't tell~"
Pamela chided herself inside. Goddammit; motherly, not 'mommy'.

Isolde Barley
Isolde remembered last night. She had spent the entire night reliving it. Oh, why did she talk so much? She was beyond embarrassed. Isolde would've slapped her past self silly. Now everyone was going to hate her and she was going to die alone in her huge mansion and, and, and-
Isolde jumped as a waist walked past. Oh, right. A waist is part of a person. Opening her privacy screen a bit more, she looked out and saw that bully. Although despite the embarrassment of yesterday, that man...she left an impression; one that had opened her mind just a bit more. Isolde couldn't curb the curiosity welling within. Those blood red orbs were unique; Isolde had learned from a young age that watching someone's eyes could tell you a whole lot about them. And though Isolde stared, all the information she could glean was that those eyes were indeed the primary color red. It was frightening.
But at the moment, new only scared her slightly. Mittens lifted his weight out of his den, jumping out and looking back at his human. Isolde got up and silently followed Nera out of the bedroom, cat and human moving in tandem to peek around the open bathroom door to see what Nera was doing.
She was bathing her eyes. Maybe she didn't blink, and thus hydrated her eyes via sink. Isolde chastised herself. That was silly; she was simply washing her mascara from her face. Isolde crept back quickly, hiding herself back in her privacy bunker. She changed within it, and peeked back out to find that Mittens was accompanying Nera back into the room, walking around her feet in curiosity. Traitor.
Isolde shuffled through her suitcase absently as she heard Nera doing something or other. She then peeked outside to find her standing in a different outfit, and heard her ask if anyone would like to join her.

Practically hearing her vassal cheer her on from inside her head, Isolde caved into her curiosity and stepped out. "....I s-suppose..." having no sleeves to hide behind (the uniform she already put on did not have large sleeves), Isolde stood awkwardly, avoiding eye contact. She glanced over to the other beds, hoping to god that the other roommate would join them. Isolde, even with her experiences from yesterday, did not want to hang out with Nera alone. She rolled on the balls of her feet, her hands folded primly in front of her.

Today was going to be a long day.

Marx
The young man groaned, kicking his feet and scratching his stomach murmuring to himself. He rolled over, trying to grab his phone at the same time before falling off of the bed and slammed against the ground, twitching slightly as he raised his head and tiredly got back up. Rubbing his head in pain as he yawned, scratching his back as he was about to make his way to the common area he realized he was still in his boxers. "Ah, I'll just quickly put some shorts on. Don't wanna embarrass myself." He blushed a little from of thought of walking out in his underwear and what people would think of him if such a thing happened, Marx quickly tried to change his train of thought and put on some shorts before walking out of his dorm room. Heading to make himself a cup of tea before anything else.

Arielle

Arielle woke up to the soft chime of her alarm, stirring her awake. A few blinks allowed her to adjust to the morning light filtering through the curtains. Taking a deep breath, she sat up and turned off her alarm, her brain now in motion. Sounds of movement and running water could be heard from the other side of the dorm.

"Good morning," Arielle yawned as she rubbed away the sleep from her eyes in response to Nera. The green flock of specks that she formed had floated beyond the privacy barrier, informing her that Nera had come from the bathroom, looking ready to go. Isolde was also awake; it was nice to see her calmer than yesterday.

An offer to come along for breakfast was made, which the latter unexpectedly accepted. Didn't she believe the two of them to be her aggressors just yesterday?

"Yeah, sure." She also answered from behind the privacy screen, a small smile forming on her face as she changed into a light gray knit sweater and matching flared skirt. Looks like it wouldn't be as lonely a first year as she feared, after all.

"Ready when you two are," she said, entering the common area while tying her blindfold around her head. However, the thought of their last dormmate crossed Arielle's mind. Gina, she believed her name was. Although the two hadn't exchanged any words, it felt wrong to just leave her out.

"Um, should.. we wait for Gina to wake up?" She proposed, seeking the others' judgment.

Gwen
Interactions: Asuna (@Cmeriwether)

For the past hour or so, the sound of faint music and the occasional running water had filled Dorm 19's bathroom. Gwen's absentminded hums had accompanied her pop playlist as she meticulously adhered to her routine of light makeup and ceaseless combing. Today, she opted for a light-blue cropped hoodie and high-waist jeans, her hair in a half-up style.

The impromptu karaoke session was briefly interrupted by one of her alarms, snapping Gwen out of her musical reverie. She sighed inwardly, reluctantly acknowledging that breakfast was soon — sooner than desired. Alas, where would she be today without her spontaneity? A quick once-over in the mirror told her she looked decent enough already.

Exiting the bathroom, the dorm was pretty much silent, save for the sound of peaceful slumber. As expected, considering they were a quarter down on dorm members. Gwen couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment over Iori's sudden departure yesterday; she envisioned a great friendship between them. But dwelling on the past wouldn't do any good — the school year just started! More opportunities would come to her, and breakfast was one of the first to take advantage from.

Gwen quietly crept over to where Asuna was resting, who now appeared to be stirring awake. She settled down on the edge of her own bed nearby. The thought of waking Pearl had crossed Gwen's mind, but she seemed like the type to cherish her beauty sleep. Gwen conjured a small bubble and floated it through the air, threatening to pop against the redhead's forehead to hasten her awakening.

"Wakey-wakey, Asuna. Hope you slept well," Gwen murmured softly once the bubble made contact. "Up to heading down to breakfast in a bit? Take your time, no rush. Bathroom's free," She gestured to the now-vacant bathroom while checking her phone, patiently waiting for Asuna to reach full consciousness before making any decisions.

Andrew

Andrew's eyes slowly blinked themselves back to life (irony!) as his body began to rouse from the night before. He couldn't sense any signs of vitality from the dorm just yet, including from himself. A good minute of mindless ceiling-staring passed before he finally rolled out of bed, doing some minimal stretching during his idle wander to the bathroom.

Judging from his reflection, he didn't look terrible. Funny how one could get a 'full eight hours' and still get dark circles, though. Hair was a bit messy, but when wasn't it? How else would he achieve that truly effortless look?

A few minutes later, Andrew emerged from the bathroom, toothbrush still in mouth. His face was slightly wet from a splash of water that should've woken him up, although the results proved otherwise. After hastening the droplets' descent and leaving his face fully dry, Andrew went scrounging for some serviceable clothing for the day ahead.

Finally, after blind-picking a subtle graphic tee coupled with a dark denim jacket and cargo pants of the same color out of indecision, Andrew was ready to leave. A quick glance around the dorm as he put away his toiletries confirmed he was the first one up.

"Eh, no matter," he dismised. "No need to disturb the others." Out the door Andrew went, his thoughts drifting as he navigated the empty corridors of the dormitory to the dining hall.

"...and once more, you all seem lively."

Kim had not been in her bedroom, in fact she had been up for a good hour plus to the first alarms sounding. Kim had developed a routine if you will; wake up at the crack of sunrise, go out and practice some control of her powers. She had taken the chance to venture and tried to slash at falling leaves with her paper power and seemed to get some decent accuracy for her efforts. She did some basic exercises and even capped her early morning routine with a jog around the outside of the dorm before she returned to the doorway of her room as everyone else seemed to be stirring and well, they seemed quite animated.

"I believe you probably woke people up along the hall, I heard you as I entered. Inside voices are a timeless art you should consider." Kim said, with a bit of her let's say formal tongue leaking through as she entered and sat on the side of her bed. She already had her backpack and supplies packed before going to bed the night prior. Her teeth was brushed, fresh clothing was already changed she just needed to freshen up as she was fresh from her jog and morning training and she'd be good for the day.

She glanced at Amaryllis who had a jar of honey, and raised her eyebrow a bit at the comment she made. "Stole?" Kim asked, though her attention quickly shifted over to Pamala as she seemed to have been looking for Kim and maybe presumed she was in the bed; in fairness, Kim had sort of left her pillows disjointed under the covers to indicate something had been there but she figured it was best to correct.

"Actually I am just returning, I was up early doing my routine workout. I should've specified this since we shall be rooming together, so apologies." Kim said, as she waited for a spot in the bathroom to open up as she aimed to brush her hair again and just freshen up to prepare for the new day.

Dean the Smartass
Dean hadn't slept. Until about 5 minutes before he woke up. This was fine. He'd had less sleep. He wondered how wack-ass Braedyn's dorm was, especially with Miles. He turned his phone on, charged it from 31 to 99% in a matter of seconds and opened his messages. Five unread messages from one of the people who used to bully him telling him to hang himself. He sent back the exact words 'Ok fuck you too you dum bitch' and then blocked the moron who sent him said message. He felt good about himself for keeping him out of his life. He also had unread messages from his ex. He read them. Just memes. He got up, got dressed, had a shower, forgot he was wearing clothes, got dressed again, put on his uniform, put a jacket over his uniform and walked out of his dorm. New day. He noticed the people he shared his dorm with, he just didn't bother waking them up. They probably like their sleep, OK?!

"Fiiive...more...minutes..."

Orion Cross wasn't a morning person. He always found it baffling how some people could rise at the crack of dawn and go about their daily activities as if they'd only taken a short recess—a trait he'd apparently inherited from his father.

"That's why he named you 'Orion'," Uncle Iggy would often say. " 'Cause we sure as hell ain't seeing your black behind during the daytime."

Needless to say, for our hero, this made a lot of things much more difficult than they had to be: making it to school on time, doctor's appointments, and the occasional police raid if he'd stopped by that one abandoned custard factory the night before (even though he knew he shouldn't).

It was like the world was built only for those select, special, absolutely horrifying few—and how unfair that was!

Half in and half out of consciousness, Orion knew this was the critical moment. He had to decide whether to fight the uphill battle of getting ready for school, grogginess and all, or to forgo that hardship in exchange for a few more minutes (or hours) of sleep. Consequences be damned, he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

Within a few moments, however, he suddenly sprung upright in his bed, the duvet folding backward. With his eyes still dreary and his durag-wrapped head hanging, he stumbled out of bed in his favorite space-themed PJs.

He'd remembered something crucial. Uncle Iggy would be checking his report card, and he said that if Orion's attendance was below 97%, he'd...

Ah! No! I shan't even repeat the threat, dear reader, for it was sinister enough to suppress even our dashing star into acquiescence. And Ignatius Cross was not a man of empty threats.

"Ahgh...urgh...mmm..."

These tired, unintelligible groans were all he had the cognitive function left to utter. With slow, deliberate, zombie-like thuds, he stumbled and bumbled through the hall, giving everything he had left to make it to the bathroom. From there, the legendary shocking power of Frigidus Maximus (also known as cold water) would see him through. Almost there!

Five more steps.

He lunged forward, almost losing balance, but quickly his grip found a radiator, and he was able to reorient himself.

Four more steps.

Pushing off the support, Orion used the forward momentum to grab onto the wooden door frame a pace or two ahead. He could feel his legs giving in. He needed to move, fast!

Three more steps.

The goal is in sight! Give it everything you've got! You—reader! Cheer him on!

With no strength left to launch himself forward, he dragged himself toward the open door to the common area. He could hear footsteps and rapid movement behind it. Someone else was awake?! Who?!

Discarding those unnecessary thoughts, he took a step forward, reaching for the opposite end of the door frame, when he saw it.

Tsugi was occupying the main area of the common room, doing some stretches and light exercises. In another lifetime, perhaps Orion would have berated him here, once again expressing his disdain for the people of the sun who rise and fall alongside it.

Alas, today was not such a day, for there was another sight that had shaken Orion to his core.

Jake, the princely pop star himself, was walking around! Shirtless! Oh, the vulgarity! The exhibitionism! Just the sight of the act instinctively forced Orion to cover his face and close his...close his eyes. Uh oh.

With his body taking the shut eyelids as a clear signal of surrender, Orion crumbled to the ground, blocking the doorway into the common room with little movement, save for the steady rising and falling of his torso. The snores that soon filled the space were a clear signal—Orion had been defeated.

As he fell, however, an object he'd had in his pajama pocket glided dynamically across the room, landing in the center. On it, lay various tabs on the phone's browser, based on topics Orion had likely been researching the night before.

Among them were '12 Signs She's Crazy About You,' 'how to tame a squirrel california,' and 'innsmouth family blob people,' just to name a few.

Orion Cross was definitely not a morning person, after all.

The one character who I definitely wasn't procrastinating on, no not at all-

To say that Ralyegh was not one who slumbers was an understatement - the hulking mass of filth-ridden, eldritch sludge had wandered the school grounds even through the misty night that followed the sinking of the sun, a befitting camouflage of darkness allowing the accursed to slither from one activity to the next. Had it not been for the many different things made available to him by the staff of Karma High, this would have proven to be a very boring night. Alas, Luck is on the side of Yoshikage Kira Ralyegh Innsmouth.

Quite a lot of time was spent just dragging pen and paper with him as Ralyegh had used the early hours to draw what he could, most of which just ended up as incomprehensible squiggles and strokes that resembled monsters of unknown origin. It was strange, but it felt like something that he was just acquainted with depicting, finding an easier time making creatures no right mind would think of rather than something simple, such as a person or an animal.

When the big ball of fire within the sky shone its radiance across the horizon once more, Innsmouth had been sat within the confines of his dorm, watching one of the many movies he had picked out and set up to watch. Of course, he only recently came into the dorm again - 'lest his stench would've likely kept his dormmates awake if he remained for long. Horror always had been one of his favourite genres, for while it could never scare a guy like him, it was always fascinating to ponder about the supernatural. What with all these superpowered individuals running around, who was to say that previous superstitions might not be so fictitious after all?

Most might require a morning routine after the crack of dawn, but when it came to actual hygiene, well.. how is someone with a curse of eldritch proportions supposed to stay clean? Sludge doesn't exactly become any more filthy than it already is, and the green-hued, pale skin covering the black mass underneath required no cleaning either as it was literally just an extension of aforementioned sludge. And there was no point to washing his own apparel as neither did he have the actual organs to sweat, nor did Ralyegh even see a point to doing so. After all, they were ruined the moment he put them on - his smell is a kind of scent that doesn't wash out easily. Or ever, really.

And so, despite how one might see not having to perform any such basic functions as a blessing, for Ralyegh, it had been a curse, for this only made him feel even more alien than he already was. Still, doing his best to avoid thinking of such topics altogether, all he'd done by now is clean up after himself and had spent his current whereabouts in the communal kitchen. Coming from a (formerly) rich and quite sophisticated family, even this vaguely humanoid blob knew how to make a proper breakfast. Lucky for him, his form never did drip without his consent, so there was little risk of contaminating his nourishment of.. meat, meat and yet more meat with his own mass.

With his antics of expertise, the aromas and scents that trailed through the air within- and outside of the kitchen was like a classic battle of good against evil, light against dark.. actually good smells of breakfast against the stench of briny death and fishy decay. Anyone with a type of smell-o-vision would have the time of their life right now, watching the all-out war of a cloud embodying the most purest definition of nasal assault against the simple, enjoyable aroma of some cooked food, surprisingly more than just the flesh and meat Innsmouth was making for himself.

As he had been taught with class since he was little, it was only natural he threw additional vegetables and other things inedible to him into the fray. Given he was the first one to be awake (with sleep being just a mere optional thing for a filth-based slime such as him), it seemed only right to Ralyegh that he also be the first to make a proper breakfast for those he shared this dorm with. Proper Manners and all, he was sure his ancestors would be proud, wherever they ended up.

Pamela spun around as she heard the door open, watching Kim walk into the room like she was some strange zoo creature. Pamela swiveled back towards the lump in the blankets, listening to her explanation with an increasingly red neck. Her cheeks also flushed, but as Pamela's back was facing Kim, she could not have seen it. Pamela did not like the slight blip. At all.
Regaining her composure, she turned around with a smile and said "Oh, how diligent of you! You're going to be a top hero at this rate, T-Takahashi!" Pamela made eye contact, inwardly wincing because she remembered the last time she had talked to Kimberly. Pamela had to make sure to keep her compartments separate.

The face she had to put on now was older-sisterly, with a little bit of motherly. Keep a tighter ship next time, Pamela!

Pamela waited for Riley to leave the bathroom, watching Kim brush her hair. "Have you ever tried brushing it downward starting with the ends and going up towards the roots? I've read it gets knots out better, and it's worked wonders for me."
Pamela demonstrated on her own hair, brushing it till it was straight and bouncy, holding back some of it with a clip that had a white lily on it. She spread her hands out as if to say 'ta-da'!

Isolde
Isolde blinked at their third roommate, keeping her eyes firmly on the floor as they inquired about their last roommate.
Isolde wasn't aware there was one.
Having another new person around scared her.
Isolde mumbled into the floor, "um...it m-might be rude...she might be a recluse..t-that is to say, shy."
Mittens curiously moved from one human to the next, plonking themselves in front of this new target. He tasted her shoe, only to find that it was not at all appealing to taste. Bleck.
Isolde seemed to interpret this as a sign of hunger, kneeling down by her beloved kitty and saying "Aw, is my little prince hungry? Is that it?" She affectionatly booped his nose, humming at him as he rubbed against Isolde's leg. "Well don't worry, precious! I'll get you something when I get back, okay? There's a good prince~" Coming back up, she teared her eyes away and remembered there were other people in the room. Shefound herself way too close to Arielle for her comfort, and jumped back from her, as it had been her shoes being tasted, Isolde's entire face turned a violent pink, and she cupped her cheeks, avoiding eye contact with anyone.

Nera Vasquez

The brunette casually stuffed her hands into her jacket pockets, as she watched everyone else get ready. Her crimson eyes stared on in a simple, soft observance, her mind... for just a few moments... feeling strangely calm. She always... cherished these kinds of moments, where she could relax her shoulders and head... as she let a small smile cross her lips.

"...cute cat, Isolde. Let's go get him some food, yeah~? Don't want him eating a shoe and getting sick or somethin'." She stretched out her body, feeling her spine extend as she let out a long, cathartic yawn... ahhh, those always felt good. She looked to Arielle... and then bit the inside of her cheek, remembering their... experience the previous day. She should probably explain some things.

"Uh, I guess... when we get to the cafeteria... or I dunno, whenever... I should probably tell you about my power. Y'all can use that to decide whether you wanna spend time around me- I would understand if ya don't anymore afterwards..."

"I mean, in whatever case... let's uh... get going. I don't wanna be late to class either." She began to walk towards the exit... her entire body beginning to suddenly build with pressure... she needed to tell them as soon as possible... fuck... she usually didn't feel this much guilt- usually it was just... transactional. She says her power, and loses a potential friend. Big whoop.

Except she actually liked these guys. Well, no time to unpack that, guess she should just throw them off the deep end.

"...my power is the ability to... uh... with eye contact... read people's minds. More eye contact means... more information and more... deep info. But uh... i usually only read surface thoughts and emotions, if anything... cuz... being invasive fuckin' sucks. But uh... yeah, that's also the avenue by which I can... temporarily copy powers. So uh... sorry, Arielle... I should have told ya the full story."

Well, let's try and get as far away from the fallout as possible, and open the door and get out of here. Within a few moments, she was already one foot out the door. They could walk with her or not, at this point... she left it up to their goodwill.

Tsugikuni Ginhoshi

Tsugikuni laughed casually at Jake's comment, stretching himself out. "Thank you, seems my morning routine makes a good first impression... well, whatever the case... we should probably get up Orion..."

He leaned down and plucked the boy's phone from the floor, glancing the open tabs with an amused huff... the Innsmouth stuff made sense, he had been interacting with that rather eldritch looking fellow yesterday, hadn't he? It was certainly hard to have not noticed that rather unique individual. Now... the squirrel taming made him almost drop the phone, as he held a hand up to his mouth to stifle his sudden laughter... my... this kid would be a source of constant tumult in his life, wouldn't he?

Not that he was particularly complaining.

Well, the last tab... well, that just made sense, didn't it? Whether this was his own research into romantics... which contradicted his previously stated expertise, but that was more funny than anything else... or it could be him trying his... uh... strangely rube-goldbergian methods to try and pair him up with Kim. When his mind wandered to that topic, he paused. She was a respectable lady, and they seemed to get along fine... but perhaps... he should test the waters more to see if... romance was the option.

Perhaps not so fast, he knew better than to jump into things recklessly... the correct strategy is always to play defensively... until an opportunity becomes clear.

He set the phone down on Orion's head, and shook him by the shoulder. "Come on Orion, breakfast and school are within your sights. You don't wanna miss or be underfed for your first day, do ya? If you really need, I can carry you on my shoulders there..." He let out a short exhale, trying to appeal to and awaken the currently comatose boy.

Riley Deimi

Riley appeared to shrink almost down to the size of a pin on a map, Pamela's verbal assailing for her actions cutting deep- especially because Riley knew it was very much true. She silently sat on her bed, trying to calm down and just... quiet up for a few moments, looking oddly and uncharacteristically... blank for a few moments.

That was, of course, until Kim entered the room and shook up the vibes once more, and she finally got the chance to comment on Amaryllis's... sticky situation (ba dum tsk~). "Oh jeez! Looks like you're all right, but you should be more careful next time~! And hey miss Takoyaki, looks like you've been keeping well for yourself on this loooovely morning~" Her mood seemed to improve drastically after... her previous slump, though she seemed much more conscious about her volume.

"Soooo, I assume you're all gonna go to the cafeteria for brekkie soon, yeah? Well... I suppose if so, I can meet you guys downstairs~? I mean, the only reason for that is just that I wanna flex my powers but... uhm..."

"..."

"Okay in my defense, it's fun...~ but uh..." She suddenly stuck her hand through the wall of the bedroom that led towards the outside, her body phasing through it... not perfectly, but a bit roughly, like she'd stuck it through a wall of thick honey. She grinned from ear to ear as she displayed this power, soon having at least her entire torso and above hanging out of the window from the second story~!

"Cool, right~?" She exclaimed, muffled by the glass, as she pulled herself back through~ "Maybe this time, I should just walk with y'all normally though... lets get a-goin~!"

The Shieldson Siblings

Gina

As Gina had woken up, she prepared for her day. She had been getting stuff done, looking through her clothes to figure out her outfit for the day. Gina laid out a light blue shirt, and a plaid skirt that reached her knees. She then went into the shower, a few minutes later, she got out and dried off, getting prepared to get dressed. When she did, she then stepped out to see that people were getting ready to leave.

"I'll join in, sorry if I didn't introduce myself last night. I'm Gina Shieldson, Structural Analysis is my main power."

She then saw the door open as one of her Roommates stepped out. She then followed, seeing this as an opportunity to talk further if said roommate was open to.

Omar

Omar had been awake a couple of hours, he had been trying to figure out multiple things, his Roommates, what was going on last night, and how the day was going to go. He had taken his shower a bit ago and was dressed in more good clothes, a grey t-shirt and some pants. He had been sorting his stuff, and put on his necklace. He then saw his Roommates, or at least Rayleigh. Suddenly, he heard random voices in head for a moment.

"You headed to breakfast, If so, I'll join, if not, then I'll head down before we have to start class. If you're not going, can you make sure our other Roommates are up so they aren't late?"

Omar then awaited the response.

The Redtail sisters

Melanie woke up first between the sisters and had gone to get freshened up, but as she did, Fuyuko woke up, she had been rather tired due to having slept on and off through the night from excitement. She then looked for a shirt, as she was wearing a pair of sweats and a sports bra.

"We'll join you, Maya!" Both responded at the same time.

She ended up finding a crop top that seemed a bit tight for her (The shirt was Melanie's). She then stepped out and headed to the shower, where Melanie had finished and got dressed. Melanie was wearing a red tank top, a blue zip-up hoodie worn open, and a blue skirt that reached her ankles. As she walked out, she saw her sister with what Looked like her shirt.

"Can you leave the shirt on my bed, I'll get it put back later, meanwhile, your clothes are on the hook in the bathroom."

Fuyuko nodded, as the young Dragon Spirit Wielder took her turn in the shower. She was quick, thinking about recent events, and got her hair braided with the Mirror's help. When she got out, Fuyuko had a light blue long-sleeved shirt, with a short hoodie. She wore a pair of similar colored leggings with black boots.

"Let's find Maya and go to breakfast, Mel Mel, maybe I'll find Marcel..."

"Who's Marcel?" Melanie asked.

'Uh, a friend..."

Fuyuko was in a bit of a blush from thinking over how things went yesterday.

@Cryronn the Mudkip (Maya can attempt to tease Fuyuko).

The Others

Milliara Rakoto

As Milliara woke up, they had gotten their clothes together, a pair of Jean shorts and a red tank top, with a red sweater. As they got in the shower, they took their time. They had been thinking about how they were going to figure out how to help with the Power they had received. As they finished, they got out and got dressed, getting their hair out and drying. As they stepped out, they realized that their Roommates needed to get up as well. They then prepared themselves a plan for today.

Asuna Ryugetsu
Arielle
Interactions: Nera (@Cryronn the Mudkip), Isolde (@Inkage)

Asuna had woken up to finding a bubble near her and Gwen standing over her. Asuna was quite startled by the sudden surprise and gave off a bit of Steam.

"Sorry, Gwen! I got startled by the bubble, I'm going to get ready and dressed."

Asuna then got out of her bed, sliding down the bed so she could get to the shower. When she got there, she had gotten her clothes when she got up from her bed, and they were a pair of dark jeans and a yellow, short sleeved shirt with orange flower patterns. The jeans were meant to be loose for her steam Abilities. As she got out, her hair had straightened itself a little, when she calmed down her steam, she checked her phone for missed messages. One from Shiori, and one from her parents.

"I'll answer these when I get to breakfast."

She then walked up to where Gwen was and responded to her presence.

"You ready for Breakfast, I'll join you if you want?"

Asuna was now awake, ready for the day as she awaited for an Answer.

Amaryllis
Finishing her honey, Amaryllis smiled at her dormates as she saw them, "Yeah maybe I'll get some more" she said before taking the jar and putting it back by her bed and quickly getting dressed. Once dressed she stated on a chair in the common area and began to brush her hair, "so you guys excited for lessons, I'm interested to see what kind of stuff we're gonna learn" she said with a grin as her wings fluttered slightly.

Jake
Having made himself some tea, Jake glanced round to find that Orion had collapsed, he glanced down at his attire and shrugged, "guess I should probably go get dressed" he said with a slight grin as he made his way to get dressed for the day. It didn't take him too long he put on his usually casual style and opted to leave his hair in a more scruffy style this morning not feeling bothered to style it this morning. He came to the common space and as he finished his tea he washed the cup and put it away. Making his way to the door he turned around "good luck with sleeping beauty there, I'm gonna head out" he said with a grin before ducking out of the dorm.
