Ask to Join Lone Clover Academy; the Mysteries behind the Mage

While he rode in silence, Judah examined the students around him within the train - especially one who seemed to definitely be using Gust magic through some sort of gun technique. The blonde rolled his eyes, irritated at what he assumed to be her attempt to show off and attract attention. However he seemed to be caught off guard as a girl had somehow approached him without him noticing, and introduced herself and her Familiar. He, as well as Sodai, had slightly jumped as the girl quickly claimed to be named Alyssa, and her phoenix demon as Pyri. She looked beamy, and around his age, but definitely more outwardly enthusiastic about being there than he was. He sighed.

He remained quiet for a few moments after Alyssa had questioned his name, entranced on examining the girl's phoenix. A graceful creature indeed, and he wondered how she even managed to summon a demon of that complexity. Sodai was looking upon Pyri as well with his maroon glance, keeping a quiet composure while assessing the fellow familiar. Finally, Judah realized he was being a bit rude and spoke up.

"I'm Judah...It's a pleasure to meet you. This is Sodai." He responded, nodding a head to his dove companion. "Sit, if you'd like." He continued, figuring that he mine as well be friendly whenever the opportunity arose - as long as he stayed focused.

"Thanks!" Alyssa said. She noticed that this 'Judah' character was looking at Pyri in a mysterious manner. "Oh, my phoenix? I actually had to master a summoning ritual to get him here from his home, and he had to accept me. He did, as you can see, and we've been buds ever since!" Alyssa went on about Pyri until she noticed that Judah was very quiet. "Hey, your dove, Sodai. It looks pretty cute! Maybe Pyri and Sodai can become friends." Pyri was still sending a heated glance at Sodai, so Alyssa asked, "Hey, what's up, Pyri?" "Nothing, just the fact that I think I remember this dove. Maybe, but it didn't go by Sodai when I met it. Us familiars don't have names until our masters give us one, so we called one another by our animal names." "Oh, okay. But what's up with the evil eye?" Alyssa said. "Well, ya see..."

"Ah, color me...impressed." Judah responded once Alyssa answered the question that was floating around in his head. So it seems she was the one who went about summoning the phoenix - meaning that just because she seemed like an annoyingly positive being, she surely had abilities that were not to be laughed at.
Speaking of Familiars, Judah noticed that shortly after the girl had mentioned of their two partners becoming friends, Pyri was intently examining Sodai as well.

"Sure," He replied, although he never really thought about how the demonic companions went about making friends. "Pyri seems like a nice presence to be around."

The boy glanced outside, spectating the ever-changing scenery as they drew closer to their destination. He looked back to Alyssa.

"So, where are you from? And what are your thoughts on all of this...do you think it'll be worth all of the excitment that people are making it out to be?"

"I mean, I guess. I think that this'll be a fun new experience for everyone! It's also a good chance to learn more fire magic. I can summon almost any fire familiar, just ask, except for the more rare ones. Summoning Pyri here was a pain in the neck. Even so, it was worth it. He's a good friend, and he can help me in a lot of ways! By the way, I have a few questions about that phoenix of yours, too. Mind explaining where you got it?"

"Oh," Judah responded, "Sodai is no Phoenix - this form of his is simply a dove." He explained, reaching out to ruffle his Familar's feathers...something he knew Sodai hated. "I summoned him just a little over a year ago. It was my first attempt, so I didn't exactly know what to expect. But he's alright, even though he acts more like a parent than a partner."

The demonic dove made a low grumble as if to warn Judah to check his attitude. This caused a bit of a chuckle to escape his lips. The two were fairly close, but they each had a knack for pushing the other's buttons.
