Past: Kuro was born in Crown City to a middle-class family. He is an only child. He received a Charmander at 10 from his uncle, a Pokémon breeder. He went through every known Pokémon region except Paldea and Galar, only winning the Hoenn League. His parents wanted him to pause the World Coronation in order for him to have an education at high school.
