Okay so since I’m too impatient to wait for USJ for the sake of surprising everyone, i’m just gonna post this bio Dekiru already approved now
Get ready to say hello to one socially stunted Villainy boi!
Name: Naosu Kodokuna
Villain Name: Nuclear Shadow
(Named so after the Ash markings of people left on surfaces after disintegration by atomic bombs.)
Age: 15
Alignment: Villain
Quirk: Ionizing - Type: Emitter (Literally)
Kodokuna’s body has the ability to emit all three types of Ionizing Radiation. I’ll break the entire thing down into the 3 sections for the sake of this, as it’s one DOOZY of an explanation. Time for a crash course in real world Ionizing Radiation Physics kids!
His body uncontrollably releases Alpha Particles of Radiation at most times (although he has recently worked to control this, and has specialised equipment for it). They are the least dangerous in terms of external exposure as they don’t penetrate very deeply into the body at all, in fact clothing can stop them. Once inhaled or ingested they are more dangerous, and can result in lung cancer in extreme cases.
He can emit concentrated blasts of Beta Particles, electrons that move very quickly, with a lot of energy. They can be blocked by most solid objects, but travel several feet when they’re emitted. They’re small, allowing them to penetrate clothing and skin. External exposure can cause burns and tissue damage, and internal exposure causes much more severe symptoms, if Beta Particles are ingested or inhaled.
Gamma Rays are the most dangerous form, which he can also emit in blasts, although this is extremely difficult for him and often a terrible idea. They have no mass, meaning these extremely high energy Photons can travel through most forms of matter. It takes several inches of lead, or several feet of concrete to effectively block them. If you’re exposed to Gamma Rays, they pass through your entire body, affecting all of your tissues from your skin to the marrow of your bones, causing widespread systematic damage.
Radiation sickness symptoms include lasting nausea, diarrhoea, headache, fever and even, in severe cases, loss of consciousness. High doses also cause burns on skin.
It is important to note Kodokuna himself is not immune to these side effects, so has to be very careful with his Quirk. He tends to require many bouts of Radiation Therapy after overuse of his blasts.
Personality:
Describing Naosu as a skeptic of hero society would be an understatement. He holds a deep resentment towards the actions of Heroes, especially those who use more extreme methods (Endeavour being a main example). He also sees Quirks as a burden and curse on society, disliking the use of them, especially his own, as he believes he could have lived a normal, happy life without it. Those who use their quirks without thought of the consequences, or depend on them too much, are the people he despises the most. However, after his 6 years of solitary confinement, Naosu is very socially awkward. He tries his best to practice communicating, having an almost childish excitement for any excuse to talk, despite his struggles with doing so. He is also a bit of a nerd, knowing many random facts and not being afraid to suddenly spout them for the sake of getting a dialogue going. He can be quite depressing to be around however, when talking about his own situation and issues.
Appearance: Naosu has light green hair, with light blue eyes. His usual costume consists of a black hoodie, with tubes filled with a dark green glow inside them attached along the arms at regular intervals, and grey jogger pants. He also wears a glass mask like object over his mouth and nose, with two silver tubes protruding out from the side of it, that serves the purpose of helping to protect him from his own Quirk.
(I did a drawing of this for the sake of it and put it on the Creative Corner)
Skills besides Quirk: Nothing of note.
Backstory:
Young Naosu Kodokuna had a normal life, living in a lower class area in Hosu City. Despite his parent’s struggles, they always tried their best to keep the boy healthy. When it came to the age where Naosu’s Quirk would be expected to manifest, the joints in his pinky toe indicated he should have one, but no effects seemed to show themselves. In fact, even tests were run on him, but nothing could be detected out of the ordinary. Naosu didn’t find anything wrong with this, merely continuing on with his life until about 7 years old. THAT... was when everything changed for him. All of a sudden, no-one wanted to be around him anymore. His mother tried to keep him away from people. What the child didn’t understand was that unbeknownst to him, his Quirk had been acting uncontrollably in secret, creating dangerous levels of Background Radiation around him.
Continuous exposure to the weakest level of his son’s Quirk, Alpha Particles that went undetected when he was younger due to their low intensity, had caused his father, the main breadwinner of the family, to develop Lung Cancer. Struggling to support themselves, while simultaneously paying for his father’s treatment, AND trying to reduce the time their son spent around other people, life soon became too difficult for the family. The local government of Hosu City found Naosu’s Quirk extremely worrying, and once documents were leaked to the public about the existence of the “Nuclear Boy”, and that such a dangerous, uncontrolled, never before seen power was being allowed to roam freely, and after suggestions from several Hero Agencies in the city, Quirk study experts and Physicists, the city’s government resorted to their final solution. At 8 years old, Naosu Kodokuna was given up by his family, due to their inability to effectively deal with his Quirk anymore because of their financial situation, and taken to a special facility... where he was placed inside a room with walls made of solid Lead, the walls 15cm thick, for safety’s sake. Here, even if his Quirk developed up to the point of Gamma Rays, as was expected of him, he would be unable to hurt anyone, accidentally OR intentionally. Quirks and tech were used to get inside his food, water and other supplies, and that was all he got. For 6. Whole. Years.
One fateful day, the facility was raided, and Naosu was freed... by a group seeking to use his powers for their own gain. The League of Villains.
