Akane looked down at the form she’d been given upon entering the school. She had to hold in a derisive laugh when she read it. In recent years, quirks had been becoming more powerful, and as a result, harder to control. The consent form was just proof that even U.A. couldn’t guarantee the safety of its students-to-be.

Well, that’s nice, Akane thought wryly as she signed the page and handed it in. So kind of them to tell us that we might be killed by other students or ourselves. Because, you know, by telling us beforehand it makes it so much better.
The girl looked around at the other students, and couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated. Her quirk was handy, sure, but it was nothing compared to the guy showing off his weird snake body/firebreathing/turning-things-to-stone quirk, or the girl who accidentally burned a tree to ashes with a sideways glance. There were others, too, all with quirks that Akane felt outshined her own. But she felt confident in her control, whereas it was evident that others were having difficulty.
Who knows, maybe this’ll be fun?
