Kiro fell to his hands and knees as soon as Azumi dropped the technique. He breathed heavily as Azumi had started to walk away. Drops of blood and sweat fell from his face as he stared at the ground. Even if Kiro wanted to say something to Azumi, he couldn’t and instead did nothing as she walked away. That was fine with him though. Her mistake would be leaving him alive as it would only made him stronger. Next time, Kiro wouldn’t allow the same scenario to play out as it did here. Next time, Kiro would make sure Azumi would regret her decision.
Kiro half expected some medics to come over but unfortunately for him, he found himself to be under Sagisō’s attention. ‘Is she expecting me too thank her?’ The sage himself must’ve wanted Kiro to suffer if this was his punishment. Before he tried crawling away, Kiro listened to her question.
He would’ve chuckled at the question she asked but he didn’t feel like experiencing anymore unnecessary pain. He would not give Sagisō the opportunity to see him groveling in pain. Instead, he settled for a slight grin and shook his head. She seemed to have no mercy. Here he was, on the ground, still struggling to move. He could barely speak or even breath for that matter and Sagisō was still asking him a question.
The one word question seemed simple but in actuality, it was complex. There were so many different ways he could answer and yet Kiro couldn’t find the strength in himself to answer with even one. Atleast he couldn’t answer right now. As he slowly started to stand up, Kiro responded with a single word. “Later.” Kiro said lazily, choosing to save what was left of his voice. Sure, he was tired of all the questions but he didn’t want Sagisō to think he was going leave her hanging. So instead of simply avoiding the talk, he just delayed it. Kiro deactivated his sharingan before looking at Sagisō one more time. He found himself looking at the same eyes he had told Sagisō to watch him with. ‘What a disappointment I am.’ Mentally cursing his failure, Kiro looked away. Instead of wasting anymore time dwelling on the matter, he started to limp away, slowly walking past her towards the nearest exit.
