Again, Senjutsu vs Ninjutsu and the Yata Mirror. The Yata Mirror is mostly responsible for blocking Kirin since it's supposed to be able to reflect all ninjutsu.

If it's true that it has the same composition as truth-seeking balls and hence the same weaknesses, then the sheer might of the jutsu wouldn't matter as much.

Basically, it's a situation of trying to hunt a bird, one guy has a slingshot and the other has Excalibur. No one is gonna argue that Slightshot > Excalibur but the guy with the slingshot still wins because he's better equipped for the job.

Edit:

It's a case of Effectiveness vs Might, and the former wins.

Hmmm might make my senju a potential senjutsu user. I was originally planning on having him/her (I’ll do whichever one Kyuu wants) as someone outside the big 5 but I don’t think azumi’s taka has enough room

Who are candidates for the team again? Azumi & Reaver are confirms and everything else is in the air.

The Sage mode boost is basically,

  • You get the Sharingan Omnidirectionally (Ability to sense and react to attacks without needing to see them.)
  • Regular Punches are probably around the level of Part 1 Rasengan (Since it one shot the Preta Path; though this might be because the Preta Path is specifically weak to taijutsu, who knows.)
  • All jutsu boosted (Jiraiya's genjutsu was able to trap three of the Paths of Pain simultaneously)
  • All physical abilities boosted.
  • Frog Kumite or Inorganic Reincarnation (Depending on where you learned Sage Mode)

I think the Sage creatures use Senjutsu by default? I'm not really sure though, they don't seem to need time to gather sage chakra of anything.

The only confirmed Sage creatures are toads and snakes, there could be others though, but we don't know. Katsyuu could be a sage creature, but I have no idea what her special ability would be.

You can make up sage mode for other animals, but we'd probably need to discuss the special ability.

Makes sense to me.

Also I feel that Toad summons are by far the most OP summon in all of Naruto. It's almost silly how much better they are compared to even snakes, much less the other creature summons that exist.

I’m sure if the sannin each specialized in different animals than in cannon, we’d still end up with a practically identical situation
