And we thought there were too many pre-evos :p A rundown of all the new pre-evos this gen:
406 = Roselia pre-evo (Subomi) - Grass/Poison
433 = Chimecho pre-evo (Riishan) - Psychic
438 = Bonsly - Rock
439 = Mime Jr. - Psychic
440 = Chansey Pre-evo (Pinpuku) - Normal
458 = Mantine pre-evo (Tamanta) - Water/Flying

Next, the complete list of new evos for old Pokemon:
407 = Roselia evo (Roserade) - Grass/Poison
424 = Aipom evo (Eteboss) - Normal
429 = Misdreavus evo (Mumarge) - Ghost
430 = Murkrow evo (Donkarasu) - Dark/Flying
461 = Weavile - Dark/Ice
462 = Magneton evo (Jibacoil) - Electric/Steel
463 = Lickitung evo (Beroberto) - Normal
464 = Rhydon evo (Dosaidon) - Ground/Rock
465 = Tangela evo (Mojanbo) - Grass
466 = Electabuzz evo (Elekible) - Electric
467 = Magmar evo (Booburn) - Fire
468 = Togetic evo (Togekiss) - Normal/Flying
469 = Yanma evo (Megayanma) - Bug/Flying
470 = Grass Eeveelution (Leafia) - Grass
471 = Ice Eeveelution (Glacia) - Ice
472 = Gligar evo (Glion) - Ground/Flying
473 = Piloswine evo (Manmoo) - Ground/Ice
474 = Porygon2 evo (Porygon Z) - Normal
475 = Male Kirlia evo (Erliedo) - Psychic/Fighting
476 = Nosepass evo (Dianose) - Rock/Steel
477 = Dusclops evo (Yonowaru) - Ghost
476 = Female Snorunt evo (Yukimenoko) - Ice/Ghost

And lastly, we have a new Regi:
486 = Regigigas - Normal

After going through mostly all the base stats for the new evos and their previous forms (or in Gardie's case, comparing the two evos), it would appear that some are useful additions, some break the lines, and others are just plain pointless. Either way, what are people's impression of this turn of events?

The one I'm happiest with is definitely Murkrow evo's. It looks good, and it gives Murkrow a nice stat boost in most needed areas. I never had the urge to train a Murkrow in the past but now I plan on it. This new thing looks like it has a beard :O

I'm slightly disappointed with Yanma's evo really. I always wanted one, but not another Bug/Flying. It would've made the perfect Bug/Dragon-type >.>

Aww, it makes me kinda sad that old favourites are now no longer fully evolved and thus weaker, like Rhydon for example.

Two of them are just plain 'orrible looking though. The Piloswine and Nosepass evos. Is it me or does the piloswine have boggle eyes and the nosepass have a fake moustache.

Probably the thing that makes me happiest is the fact that the grass and ice eveelutions I predicted years ago came true.

I expected to log on today to find all the DP Pokémon uncovered, but I didn't expect to find that approximately 1 out of every 4 Shino Pokémon is somehow related to an older one! I was thinking just yesterday, "I wonder if there are any pre-evos or evos left?" Guess that got answered.

My thoughts? I LOVE 'EM ALL! I am, of course, VERY disappointed that there aren't very many NEW Pokémon (that means that almost the entire Shino saga in the anime is going to be focused on old Pokémon and their new evolutions), but the ones that we got...well they're just so cool!

..Looking. We don't know anything about them at all except what they look like, but from the minisprites, they're some of the coolest things I've ever seen. Three-armed Mr. Potato Head? Dusclops genie? Magnetank? Heckz yeah.

Okay after a few hours of these fellows settling in I have come to the conclusion that they are't as bad as I felt before (apart from that Piloswine evo, but I suppose every generation gets something ugly and boring like Slaking).

And yeah Quagsire, a big cheer for that Dusclops Genie. That Togetic evo seems kinda strange though. I actually missed it a couple of times, thinking "that can't be it".

I guess my main impression of this generation is it's complexity. I haven't figured if it is a good or bad thing yet but I just can't shake the feeling that if they tried to make Charizard nowdays for example he would have spikes on his elbows and knees with a crest running down his back and fire on top of its horns. You know what I mean. Designs are less simple.

Hm, Bulbapedia is reporting that we have a Porygon PRE Evo, not an evolution. And it seems Lapras has no relations in this gen.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is. That list isn't confirmed, it's just speculation by the community. We'll know for sure over the next little bit (although the types were determined via Arty2's code hacking).

And I know what you mean, Meangreen. Although, the skunk Pokemon look normal, and Buoysel's evo is one of the coolest Pokemon I've seen yet ^^

I'm happy about ice evee, alternate kirlia, evo for togetic(which by the way is a big shock)evo for tangela(come out of hiding under your vines) and an evo for misdrevus.

It's more likely to be a Porgon Evo than a pre-evo. It's closer to Porygon 2 in design afterall, and looks like an upgrade of that. This new one evolving into Porygon would be a downgrade for it. Plus, the stats indicate that it's an evolved form.

Or at the very least, a split evolution.

Its a shame that Jynx didn't get an evolved form :'(. Poor Jynx has been outcast'd by Electabuzz and Magmar. Just like Victreebel when Gloom gained an alternate evo and Pinsir when Scyther gained an evolution (although Pinsir now has Heracross as its "rival").

Same here QQ, 'cept that I was thinking Banette genie and I'm not as disappointed about the lack of "NEW" Pokemon.

you guys are missing some evo's and pre evo's (Yes I know you're working on it) but someone on the forums or on the home page said there wasn't going to be no lapras evo or pre evo chains. Well actually there is ^_^ It's called Karanakushi ( jumps up and down) it's actually not all the cute as I thought it would be but I made a promis to myself that If they came up with pre evo for lapras, I would so get it (I'm sure all love it fully in time)

But, Karanakushi evolves into another new Pokemon, Toritodon. It said so on Serebii.net.

Yah your right. Well they look pretty similar so either serebii.net made a mistake on Karanakushi being a pre evo of Lapras or its either an alternate evo like bellossom. I'm doubting it is the pre evo of lapras now. I just saw serebii's sprite chart and it didn't say it was .....sigh It's actually a good thing. That thing looks ugly.

Hmmm, apparently every pokemon from Weavile to those three scrawny psychic legendaries is not part of the Shino pokedex. This seems to make a lot more sense now I look at the fact that I heard talk awhile back about "secret" evo's. But does this also mean that only Misdreavus and Murkrow are available in the wild?

Just picture that each of these evo's utilise a different evolution method. The mind boggles at the possibility for post-elite four dungeon crawling action!

The weird thing is this: Magneton, Lickiting, Rhydon, Tangela, Electabuzz, Magmar, Togetic, Yanma, Eevee, Gligar, Piloswine, Porygon2, Kirlia, Nosepass and Dusclops all have new evolutions, yet NONE of them appear in Shino! They must all be traded from older games before you're able to evolve them. They COULD have made the Shino Dex larger than 151, but maybe they had their reasons?

Some SHINO pokes are not in the Shinodex though, like some legendarys that can be caught in the game, so these evolutions may be obtainable somewhere.

Guess that's cleared up then. Once you have the National Dex, many new wild Pokemon begin appearing. So even though they're Shino Pokemon you still can not obtain them until after receiving the National Dex.

Seems kinda dumb really considering the lack of new Pokemon we had in the first place, but at least it gives people a reason to keep on playing post-Elite 4...

Now that Kirlia and Snorunt have an evolved form for both of their genders, what gonna happen when you try to transfer a Male Gardevoir or a Female Glalie from R/S/E/FR/LG to D/P?

Also, the existence of Erleido has thrown wrench in my idea the Abra line being the opposite of the Ralts line.

That's probably one of the reasons why we have to recatch our older Pokemon in Shino. Your male Gardie will become a female and vice versa for Glalie ^^;

Poor things :(

Yeah, She looks like Princess Shroob. The creators of Pokemon seem to be getting into the habit of making Pokemon that are similar to creatures of the Super Mario Bros series. so far we have:

Weedle=Wiggler (same color, same nose and based of the same real-world creature)
Gastly:podoboo (both are based off of Will-o'-Wisps)
Voltorb/Electrode=Bob-Omb (all of them are round things that explode)
Girafarig's Tail=Chain Chomp (both are black, round things that bite)
Shroomish=Goomba (Mushrooms with feet)
Masukippa:petey Piranha (Flying, carnivorous plants)

Oh, back on topic, I'm starting to like Erleido more since it knows Leaf Blade 8).

So, pictures have been revealed for more of the evos.

Megayanma looks pretty cool, and I must say that Manmuu is very cute. I forget what its base stats are compared to Piloswine, but as long as they're better in the proper areas I'll probably end up training one.

Tangela and Lickitung's evos on the other hand... ugh. Not impressed, but after seeing their mini-sprites I had the feeling that I wouldn't be.

Lickitung's evo makes me laugh. HARD> I love it. It reminds me of a fat opera singer with one of those things that would curl up and hit him in the face.....

...That was not a good description......lol.

Dusclops evo reminds me of Dr.Egghead as a robot.

Awww. I now see my folly in using box sprites to form judgements... 'cause box sprites had me hopeful about the Magmar evo, but alas, this illusion of coolness has been shatterd. GIVE ME BACK THE BEAK!!!!

On an aside note... anyone hear that good news concerning fossils?

Aye. After the pre-lim Underground info, though, I'd assumed we'd be able to find all the fossils like that. More version exclusiveness it seems as well. Here's hoping someone gets the full list of all the exclusives to each game soon.

And the Magmar evo... Ugh. I probably like it least out of any of them. Nosestache and Magneton's evos look funny, but it's a funny I can laugh with. No qualms with either ^^

Now that we've seen them all, a quick review of my impressions [looks only]: Rozureido, Donkarasu, and Megayanma are all ones I see as better than their pre-evos (though I'm still disappointed over Megayanma's Type. Doesn't really entice me to train it other than for fun). Weavile, Dosaidon, Manmoo, Togekiss, Glion, Dianose, Erliedo, Yonowaru, Jibacoil, PorygonZ, and Mumarge are all ones I like and don't really have a problem with. The rest... I either just don't care for them (like the Eevees), or I find 'em fugly... Booburn most of all, because I really like Magmar and Magby and it looks horrid in comparison >>

But don't get me wrong. Looks don't deter me from training a good Pokemon. I've never stopped an evo before because I didn't like what it evolved into, and some of my favourite Pokemon to use in-game I'd never vote for as best looking. I mean, Sceptile is pretty damn ugly compared to Grovyle, but it still rocks in other ways. And then there's Mime Jr., which a lot of people disliked originally yet has now won over most Anime fans by its cute voice and manner. So yeah... I don't "hate" any Pokemon enough to ban myself from training them, and none of the new ones are an exception to that rule.

I definitely like Nosestache the best. Frickin' hilarious looking and the defenses of a large tank... seriously, it has as much Sp. Def as Mewtwo has Sp. Atk. Its Def. isn't that much lower either.

I also like Tangela's evo, if only for the fact that it also looks hilarious and is over 6 feet tall.

Tangela's evo is going to consume your SOUL! XO

That thing seriously scares me, like in a Claydol way. It'll become the next boogieman of the Pokemon world.

Everytime I read that name, I think of Majin buu o.O

Aaah! now you got me thinking of Dragonball-Pokemon crossovers. Not cool....

On a more serious note does anyone think these new "fixed in place" evo methods are gonna complexify (I made it up right?) future games? I know some evos were never possible like Milotic in FR/LG or Umb/Espeon in Ru/Sa but this seem more like a simple lack of game mechanics.

Call me a grumpy bastard but I liked the old ways just fine. All this retconning is unnecessary to me as I couldn't care less if a Pokemon evolves in one Version and not the other.

Things are getting more complicated alright. This'll be a gen that you'll definitely need a PokeDex/guide for unless you have a good memory ^^;

The 'retconning' as you put it is their way of saving their butts from people who do care about stuff like that. It's probably also due to the push to make something 'new'. We're all a very hypocritical bunch. We say we like things just the way they are and that nothing really needs to change, yet look what happens when changes aren't made? A whole whack of people complain that "it's just the same game all over again!" But then you get it on the flipside - the people who claim they don't like the games anymore because they've become overly complicated and still hail R/B as the best two. You can't please everyone in this fandom >>

... and if I just ranted in a totally different direction than your post meant, sorry ^^;

Actually I thought that Mojanbo looked like a Cookie Monster, but your idea; That's hilarious ;D!!

To me it looks like a dark mage wearing a wooly sweater ^_^. I have mixed feelings for it actually, at first when I saw it's sprite I'm like "oh that's orginal make it have longer vines" but know that I see it bigger I don't know

... and if I just ranted in a totally different direction than your post meant, sorry ^^;

Nah, you basically got the gist of what I was saying. Also now I actually get the whole Ancient power evos being semi ancient themselves (Duh!) it makes a lot more sense in giving a pokemon a new move that dosent fit it just so it can evolve.

Too true about that not pleasing everyone problem as well. But they do seem to please the majority, which in itself is a feat.
