• A reminder: If you want to ask an RP thread creator if you can join their RP, do so in private - via conversation or profile messages - or via the thread's discussion thread, if one exists. Do NOT ask if you can join an RP on the RP thread itself! This leads to a lot of unnecessary OOC chatter and that's not what the RP boards are for.

This is clearly stated in our RP forum rules. If you've not read them yet, do so BEFORE posting anything in the RP forums. They may be found here (for Pokémon Role Play) or here (for General Role Play). Remember that the Global Rules of Pokécharms also apply in addition to these rule sets.

Operation KJHSUK

(So join if you want, I'm only allowing four people total including @SismicFlareCharmander and myself. With that said, enjoy!)
Kicking back, Jaro smiled. He had a good job; him and his team were investigators. His Ponyta and Blitzle could keep up with almost everything, and his Braviary was an aerial ace. He and his team had some other friends, and they looked into every case they came upon. Suddenly, his holo-phone started buzzing. Activating it, Jaro saw a face pop up. The face of his best friend and second-in-command, Cullen. "What's the story on the Amber heist?" Jaro asked. "Find anything?"

"No. The cameras show nothing, the trackers aren't working and the toaster stated making burnt toast. Maybe that was off topic, but there is literally nothing happening. I've been staring at the screen for eight hours straight, and I ran out of coffee. X also came back, and reported nothing out of the ordinary. I'd say they've covered their tracks pretty well. But it's nothing we can't handle." Cullen said. An immideate chirp was heard, most likely X, Cullen's Porygon. "Off topic, I've been planning on giving X an upgrade, so that he can better serve the team. What do you think?" He asked.

"Perhaps." Jaro said. "That could help, but you'd need an Up-Grade. Anyways, I think we should try an investigation up close. Those Pokemon fossils are too precious to lose, and maybe the cameras missed something. I think we stand a better chance of catching something hidden on foot."

Before she realized he wasn't helping her across the street, the thug sprinted away with her belongings. A purse, to be particular. Knowing he needed to lose his trail, the thug thought to run down a dark alley. Stopping to catch his breath, the thug heard from out of nowhere...

"Hey."

"Who's there!?" replied the thug. "I don't know what you think you're going to do, but I'm dangerous!"

Knowing he'd already got under his skin, Rick stepped out of the shadow of a fire escape.

"And who do you think I am?"

The thug began to reply, but then realized who this was. This was "Shadow". One of the cruelest thugs turned good. He knew enough to know he couldn't handle him, at least, not unprepared. He dropped the purse and dashed away, as quick as his feet would carry him. Laughing, Rick picked up the purse and stepped out of the alley. The lady was surprised by how her savior looked, but she thanked him nonetheless.

Walking away from the scene, Rick checked his watch to see that we had ANOTHER assignment. Sighing out of exasperation, Rick changed directions and began walking towards the station to get a rundown on the situation.

"You mean you stand a better chance. My ability to see the hidden is not as good as yours. The best I could do I is get some Forensics stuff, but I don't think that'll help. Maybe I could bring in some coffee and doughnuts, but I would say that's about it." Cullen replied, knowing that his proper place was in the lab. "Wait... I'm working on a prototype scanning device. It seems to work okay, and I could bring it.."

"That's probably the best idea. Try and get into contact with Rick and whoever else and we'll head out." Jaro said, deactivating his holo-phone. The image of Cullen disappeared as the projector powered down. Grabbing his pack, Jaro gathered his Pokemon and departed.

Nearing the base of operations, Rick noticed the person stepping out of the building but didn't realize who it was. As his hand slid down to his belt of pokeballs, he slowed his approach. As he neared however, he took a sigh of relief and realized the person exiting and walking away was, in fact, one of the team. Well, rather the leader of the team than just a part of it.

"Jaro," said Rick quietly as he approached. "What's the run-down on the situation?"

"Rick! I was just about to have Cullen call you!" Jaro said. "Do you remember the Amber Heist? I think the security cameras might have missed something. We're heading to the museum to try an up-close investigation."

"I guess I'll follow you right there, then," replied Rick.

"I'll keep my eyes peeled, but I don't know what more we're going to see than the cameras could have..."

Falling behind Jaro, Rick released one of his own pokemon. After the Greninja formed, Rick gave it explicit instructions to follow, but to stay behind and to stick to the shadows, in case things got "icky."

"Well, for one thing cameras can be tampered with and things can be hidden from view. WE have human (and Pokemon) intuition." Jaro said, crossing the street. "We're gonna meet up with Cullen and whoever he manages to scrap up at the scene of the heist."

"I've kinda had my mind on other things... Where was this heist at again? And what was stolen?"
Trying to remember exact details, Rick realized he remembered almost nothing of the crime.
"What all can you tell me of this incident?" Rick questioned.

"Well..."

The Amber Heist was an expertly pulled operation. Somehow, the thief entered the museum and set a charge to shut down all electronics in the building for fifteen minutes. Some of the cameras were connected to the backup generator, which managed to reveal the thief had a Joltik and an Abra. The thief stole two Pokemon fossils and teleported away. Since we have no way to track a teleported person or object, the thief escaped with the fossils. This theft took place on Jan. 17, two days before today.

"Seems like he came prepared... Something to get rid of being seen, a pal to speed things up, and an escape plan..."
"We're not dealing with any amateur here... This is a professional... Probably done this before. I hope that narrows this down some..."
