Getting a Pokemon. The mark of passage to many, the next chapter to others, the ultimate dream to all. It's the lifelong goal to become the very best, to become champion, to travel all around the region to try to discover the whereabouts of the legendary Pokemon.
This story is normal. A group of Hoenn's young adults wishing to hurry off on their journey gather together on one fateful day with Professor Birch. He gives out the Pokemon, and the young adults do as they wish from that moment on. Fill out the pokedex, battle others, catch them all.

Team Aqua and Team Magma were both disbanded many years ago at the hands of a young adult, similar to the ones above. However, a new threat is looming over Hoenn. One far more Sinister and bloodthirsty than the pitiful Aqua and Magma groups. They're out to steal young kids, they're out to loot the seaside villages, they're out to strike pure terror into the hearts of the people who hear their name...
They're the Pirates.
Many in this group were former Team Aqua members. Led by former Team Aqua Admin Matt, this group of seafaring monsters don't seem to have any real cause behind their cruel actions. They do what they do for, what it seems to be, fun. They have many sea vessels roaming the vast seas of Hoenn at all times, and many are unsure of their hideout's location. Many speculate that it's somewhere near Sootopolis City, but those who have searched never found anything.
You are a young adult from Mossdeep. Professor Birch is sailing from Lilycove to Mossdeep to give you your Pokemon. In addition to that, your parents have agreed to give you a fully evolved, water type Pokemon to aid you in sea travel and overall sea safety with the Pirates around. However, Professor Birch's ship was hijacked by the Pirates, leaving him with only his clothes and his life as he reached Mossdeep. Thanks to Steven, who was visiting, and the Mossdeep City Orphanage for Pokemon, Professor Birch was able to give you your starter, but unfortunately, your journey is starting off nowhere near normal.
@LadyLucs is helping me run this RP! So here she has as much authority as I do.
Your starter may be any unevolved Pokemon that can be found in Hoenn, not a normal starter, and can evolve at least once. The Pokemon your character's parents give can be any Pokemon who can learn surf.
Please keep blood, violence and gore to a minimum, I know this is about Pirates and that they do terrorize people in horrid ways, but flogging is not necessary.
Also, Lady and I are looking for pretty active people to roleplay with us, so please keep that in mind. Of course we want as many people to roleplay with us as we can, but please keep in mind that, in a way, it's rude to abandon a roleplay that you joined. We understand that everyone has a life outside of charms, but if you're overly inactive, we will leave you behind.
One last note, please keep the never ending pirate attacks to a minimum. These Pirates are smart enough to evade attacks from Steven and the Elite four, meaning that their plans take time and they don't occur everyday. Thanks!

Aspen usually wears a light green long sleeved shirt with a black vest over it. Her hands are usually wearing fingerless white gloves. She has a strip of white dyed hair on the left side of her hairline, her outgrown bangs in other words. She was going to dye it purple, but it was taking too long for her. She wears jeans and black hiking boots as well. Most times she will also wear a brown hat with a white rim and an orange Pokeball, but at times she won't.
Personality:
Aspen is a moderately impatient leader. She loves to be in charge, but doesn't mind following others once in a while. She thinks well ahead and is an amazing planner, plus she is always on time and does everything by her plan. Aspen can be very sensitive to flirting and she can get very upset about it. That's mostly due to her inability to stop blushing after certain remarks, and she likes to keep most of her feelings secret. Her leading personality can sometimes lead to major problems, as many call her bossy and mean. Aspen's proactive thinking can also lead her into problems, as she is horrible at improvising.
Past:
Aspen lived in Mossdeep all her life, growing up under a family of scientists. Unlike her family, she wanted to become a traveler, which was fully supported by her loved ones. As a kid, Aspen met a Feebas in an Aquarium show, and fell in love with the fish. She begged her parents to keep it, but since it was a show only exhibit, it wasn't for sale. So, before they left to go home, Aspen sneakily took the Feebas out of the enclosure and walked home after her parents with the fish. Of course her parents were shocked that she had done that, but when they took the Feebas back go the show, they were already gone. So, Aspen let her parents raise Mira, the name she gave to the Feebas, who quickly evolved into a Milotic.
In her teen years she met Max, a traveler from Lavaridge who moved to Mossdeep. Of course she instantly became friends with him, but as they continued to hang out and work on schoolwork together, they both decided to try dating. So, while Max went around saying that Aspen was his best friend, Aspen went around thinking she had a boyfriend. After a while that dispute was settled, but when Max left one day suddenly without saying goodbye, Aspen did feel like a peice of her went missing. With only a cryptic goodbye message and a brown hat to work with, Aspen's goal is to find her best friend again.

Max is ambitious, reckless and quick thinking. He loves to tease other people, making him a love-him-or-hate-him kind of guy. Although he seems to be very rushed all the time and is always on the move, he takes a lot of his time to contemplate over important decisions, and usually weighs out options, choosing the option for the better of those around him. Nothing he's ever done really hurt others, as his worst fear is someone dying at his hands.

Max hails from Lavaridge Town. When he was younger, he discovered that his father was a former Team Aqua member, but instead of becoming afraid of his dad, Max went on wishing to one day become a famous sailor. He recived a Pokemon at a young age- a beldum to be exact. Legally, it wasn't ok, but nobody stopped Max from playing all day with Cross.
His parents moved to Mossdeep, and of course he had to go with. Moving, however, was not hard for Max, as Cross was basically his only friend that was worthwhile. He had many other friends, but all Max ever wanted to do was play with his Beldum. When he moved, he met Aspen, a girl who he instantly saw as a friend. They went to school together and did many fun activities with one another, but after Max found out that his father had joined the Pirates, he knew he had to leave behind his best friend. Just in case, he left a message for Aspen and his favorite hat, hoping that maybe one day she'll understand why he too left to be a pirate.

Rapid loves to play, and is far less serious than that of any other Pokemon Max has.
