Pokecharms WFC Pokemon Online Server

Wow, that's a mouthful.

Anyway, I know a number of people here already use Pokemon Online - a pretty useful simulation tool for creating new teams and trying them out virtually before training them up for reals - and now those people have a new place they can call home, and so can you! :)

I've set up a Pokecharms Server on Pokemon Online, which covers all the standard Pokecharms WFC rules, allowing you to train for WFC tournaments and leagues as easily as possible.

To get connected, first you'll need Pokemon Online itself. You can download the client here. When you start it up, you can get stuck into building your team or just connect to a server and get started from there.

To connect to the Pokecharms Server, you'll need the IP address. Our server isn't publicly listed, so you won't find it in the long list that comes up when you select "Go Online".

Simply enter this IP address: 82.7.143.236:5080 in the box where it says 'Advanced Connection' and then click the button that says the same. This will automatically connect you to our server.

On the server you will find under the 'Tiers' menu, all our standard WFC battling rules. For extra clarity, here is a list of all the rules included on the server and a link to their definition on the site:

Gen V Singles: http://www.pokecharms.com/games/Single_Battle_Ruleset_(Gen_V)
Gen V Doubles: http://www.pokecharms.com/games/Double_Battle_Ruleset_(Gen_V) (Currently unavailable)
Gen V WiFi Flat Rules: http://www.pokecharms.com/games/The_Flat_Rules_(Gen_V) (This covers singles, doubles, triples and rotation battles)
Little Cup: http://www.pokecharms.com/games/Little_Cup_Ruleset_(Gen_V)
VGC11: http://www.pokecharms.com/games/VGC11_Ruleset
BW Cup: This is the VGC11 Ruleset (Gen V Pokemon only), but singles instead of doubles, is Level 100 instead of 50, allows 6 Pokemon instead of 4 and does not have the item clause.

All rulesets default to 'WiFi' mode, meaning you will see your opponent's team before the match (and vice-versa) in the same way as you would in B/W's own WiFi battling.

Feel free to get started and logged on to the server. :) Don't be dismayed if no-one is around when you come on, it's very, very early days for the server and if you hang around long enough, you're sure to encounter more people.

We will also likely be organising official WFC meetings and small tournaments through Pokemon Online in the future alongside our usual game-based tournaments and leagues.

Last time I tried to enter it (which was ages ago) I don't think it worked. Usually we just use other servers for tournaments anyway so unless this server is suddenly fixed it'll be inactive indefinitely.

Basically, I hosted it off of my local server and kinda stopped. If we had a use for it, I'd be more than happy to set a Pokémon Online server up full-time on a proper hosted box so it's up 24/7 and configured with all our rulesets. What do you think?

I don't know if there's any urgent, immediate use for it right now, but if a lot of people post saying they'd like to see the server restored or if you just feel like making it anyway then feel free. Choice is all yours.
