Darin rolled his eyes and laughed. "You? Give ME a chance? Face it, I have much more training than you. But I'm not looking for a fight." He shrugged off the principal and stepped back from Cole's knife. "Terribly sorry, mates, gotta fly. Head west through Shogun badlands to find me. If you truly want to kill my comrades and I, bring an army. And a diplomat." He winked at Kuro. He clicked his trident closed, pulled his hood down and hopped through the hole left by Exploud. Out into the wilderness beyond. He was going home.
After hours of traveling, Darin had reached the badlands. He hopped into a crater, and yelled, "Dad, I'm home!" Out of a crevice appeared a houndoom. He was massive, and a likeness of Darin, his son. He frowned, and rumbled, "Why so soon?" Darin chuckled and said, "Minor delay. The scholars at the academy wanted to kill me or something like that. It escalated when I killed the Exploud." Darin's dad dropped the weight he was holding. "You killed the Exploud? Which one?" Darin shrugged off his dad's surprise and answered, Heston, I think. Anyways, the Chandelure we targeted was protected."
"By who?"
"An Infernape. He's a hothead. He almost knifed me."
"You got out?"
Yeah. All diplomatic-like. Mum would be proud."
Darin's dad faltered. "Ye-Yes. She would be. You said you killed the Exploud?"
"Yeah Dad, but-"
"They took her." Fury burned in his Dad's eyes. "We can't forgive Team Justice."
"Dad, I know, but-"
"Enough. We finish later. I need to ponder this.
"Yes, sir."
