Open Pokémon: Interstellar - Discussion Thread

My post time jumping to the 20th and the kickoff to the main story events will be posted today by midnight PST. Ongoing events before the 20th such as Eric battling in the Unova League or Draven's plans for the night of the 17th are encouraged to continue, just put the date in your post header.

The post for Interstellar will be separated into two parts, leaving room for you guys to make posts for the 20th and involve yourselves in the events before they conclude. If nobody involves themselves in an event after 3 days of it being posted it will conclude with a predetermined outcome in the second post. If people interject in Interstellars plans, outcomes may change.

A reminder for locations; Kanto (Celadon, Vermillion, Saffron), Sinnoh (region-wide), Unova (Pokémon League), Kalos (Prism Tower).

Sounds good! Just wanted to ensure your character gets a chance to be involved!! If you want upfront battles, Kalos or Kanto. If you want investigations and stuff Sinnoh or Unova.

Just the rain on the 20th, but in the following days grunts should become common on Routes. Cities won't be infiltrated with grunts in Sinnoh until a later event.

I'll upload a breakdown of major developments soon and update it as things happen!

That took absolutely forever. I hope everything's alright, wasn't so sure how the ID thing or releasing a Pokemon that isn't yours works, but considering that the Chimchar is owned by the League, not sure how that works.

Granted, the Pokeball will be easy to find. xD

Interstellar is on Coronet - I may have misread your post as I skimmed it at the end of my shift and haven't slept yet. Was going to re-read before replying with anything ofc. Only became confused because I thought he was on the way to Oreburgh which would mean passing through Oreburgh Gate!

Yes, he passed through Oreburgh Gate and was already in the city when the downpour hit.

Sorry guys for the random no-post period, but I’m back and should be able to make a post tomorrow.

Also, @Cmeriwether , what should we say happened during the period of the time skip between Amada and Luke to the events going on? Would they just have become friends and trained a little together? Just needed to know since if I mention it in my post I might have to slightly auto.

Backstory: Born in Galar, he quickly made friends with people and Pokemon alike. When he was 14, he moved to Hoenn, where he got his first Pokemon from an egg. His father, a powerful citizen in Sinnoh, had a runin with Team Rocket before they disbanded, but he held them off with his Empoleon
Goals: To battle with the Galarian Champion, and then, his father!

Welcome back! I love the character, however there is one inconsistency I have to ask about. Interstellar has JUST made their first moves and hasn't revealed themselves to the world as a group just yet. There are separate sects the father could have run into, but even then they are rare to run into, few and far between and very secretive with their operations. Theyve been avoiding any issues that could give them away such as run ins with police, harming civilians unnecessarily, and they aren't focussed in robberies or petty thieving or things like that. Give me a bit more detail on where, when, why, and what team within Interstellar the father ran into or simply leave that part out and the character is approved. For now, under review/needs changes.

@Max Million awesome post, love the battle between Bliar and Eric!! Im also really excited to see where the thing in Hoenn with Magma and Aqua goes. Slight discrepancy I noticed though, Blair is fighting the first member of the E4 in my post while the champ, Baldour is off to the side in his own spectating area watching. That's where he gets attacked by Plasma and such, he isn't battling.

Part two of Interstellars stuff for this 'event' will be posted probably tomorrow !

While there aren't any Admins currently in Celadon, there would be (currently unnamed) Admins running the near identical operations in Vermillion and Saffron. Would also make sense for some higher level grunts to be in Celadon as well if you want to be there but don't want to directly go for Giavanna, who will have more clarity on her location and activity in my post today/tonight. Feel absolutely free to have Xero battle an admin heading the takeover of another city or some grunts for that evolution! Give them some good mons, maybe a name and a bit of a persona but ultimately you are welcome to defeat and discard them; say their failure in battle on the first big mission got them booted from Interstellar perhaps. Any baddies in Kanto but Giavanna is free reign to play hero on at the moment, as long as a reasonable way to take em down despite their Psy-Gauntlet advantage is thought up. Goes for anyone :)

Solid Admins and other high rank positions for the evil teams will be announced soon, so if you guys come up with a really cool character that isn't worthy of the boot from Interstellar, they may stick around!

Rocket disbanded generations ago in this plot, so if you're willing to say he ran into some new grunts perhaps and defeated them? They would easily be discredited as wannabe Rockets despite being real, so his legacy as a strong battler would be intact without sacrificing the plot. He would have still run into real Rockets and beat em. If those small changes work for you, accepted.

In other news, I posted an update for Team Interstellar. @YoKaiKingEnmaDaiyou Rocket Admins in Saffron and Vermillion can be defeated at your discretion (and of course anyone else who shows up), creative freedom on them is all you if you'd like, otherwise I can control them and give more details as I am for Giavanna. Hell, those cities can even possibly be saved from invasion with the right tactics.

@Max Million Unova Champ is being escorted out by baddies, there's a few to be defeated before chase can be given directly but the opportunity for Eric to help out Blair + other good guys and redeem himself is there.

@Merciless Medic if Draven wants to find the Galactic cave and eavesdrop, or be found by some grunts for some action, that option is there! If played right he could even be offered to join Interstellar.

EDIT: for my people in Lumiose City, you are welcome to place yourself already inside of Prism Tower to be involved in that event and try and stop it if you'd like to be there, otherwise you can find your own way in via your Pokémon or other unconventional means. You can also simply observe from the ground.

•Team Rocket actively invading Celadon, Vermillion, and Saffron.
•Team Galactic causing weather catastrophes in Sinnoh.
•Team Flare takes over and begins first stages of reconstruction on Prism Tower
•Team Plasma ambushed the Unovan Champion and kidnaps him, currently mid escape.
•Interstellar broadcasts worldwide to announce its existence.

Whatcha got cookin in that brain? Spitball some ideas, I've got an open mind. Also a slight note to your recent post, it's not been 8 years since the evil teams were originally around but 8 decades. It would be literally impossible to have met Cyrus, or encountered the original evil teams unless youre over a few hundred years old. Easy enough to read about them in a book or hear about em in a history class, but the events of the original games and the evil teams in them are long in the past.

My current plan was to have Xero partner up with the defeated Captains Partner Pokemon, Kingambit, to counter the psychic forces. I was thinking that maybe the fighting type gym could’ve overtaken the psychic type gym after Sabrina’s dependents powers got weaker, but the dojo would turn into a school for young children who present innate psychic powers and their psychic pokemon. It would give the admin in Saffron an objective as well as a fun little world building thing

So to make sure I understood your idea, the psychic gym is the formal gym while the dojo nextdoor is a training program for kids with psychic abilities? I quite like this idea if thats accurate to what you had planned. Would the Admin have a side goal of their own revolving around the dojo, like recruiting the kids or nabbing the psychic Pokémon for powering the gauntlets?
