"Hey, let's just focus on the battle, K? The more of these trainers we get to watch, the higher advantage we have." Then she continued to observe the match.

A reminder: If you want to ask an RP thread creator if you can join their RP, do so in private - via conversation or profile messages - or via the thread's discussion thread, if one exists. Do NOT ask if you can join an RP on the RP thread itself! This leads to a lot of unnecessary OOC chatter and that's not what the RP boards are for.

Private/Closed POKÉMON: JOURNEY THROUGH THE PETOSA REGION {ROLEPLAY}

“Quick, Vine Whip on the rocks!” he shouted to Toby, who obeyed. He snapped his vines at the rocks, breaking them and lessening the damage he took from falling onto them. He used Tackle, aiming for underneath the Lillipup, before leaping into the air from right underneath it, charging up its already powered-up Tackle attack.
Lillipup was knocked flying, flat on its back. James urged it to arise but to no avail- it had fainted. He felt dismay, before determination overwhelmed him and he sent out his second- and final- Pokémon.
"Go, Gumshoos!"
Gumshoos' figure stood proudly on the battlefield, preparing for its next attack. "Use Retaliate, quickly!" Gumshoos charged at the Bulbasaur, agile on its feet, charged up with a powered-up move.

Toby was flung into the air by the Retaliate Attack, but took it and used Vine Whip. He didn’t have much energy left, so he probably wouldn’t be able to take that many more after. Jacob called for him to use Tackle, and he did so, charging at the Gumshoos at full power, before changing to Vine Whip mid-Tackle, and then continued to use both attacks at once, wrapping its vines around Gumshoos while charging at it with Tackle.
Gumshoos was hit backward by the tackle, but managed to wriggle away just in time for the vines not to hit. It used Leer, attempting to lower Toby's defense so it would hit harder, and then, James ordered his partner to use Quick Attack. At a ridiculous speed, Gumshoos charged at Toby from behind, hoping to knock it forward.
Toby flew through the air after being hit by Quick Attack. He fell to the ground and layed there for a second. He stumbled a few times, but got up. He used Leech Seed and Poison Powder, attempting to inflict the Gumshoos with status affects before he lost the battle, knowing there was no way he would beat the Gumshoos alone. He used Razor Leaf and surrounded Gumshoos in a tornado of leaves before causing the leaves to close in and fly at Gumshoos from every direction.
Gumshoos jumped out of the way of where the Leech Seed landed, but in this dodge he left himself vulnerable to the poison powder. Skillfully, James' best Pokémon evaded some of the Razor Leaves, but of course was inevitably hit with quite a lot of them- but, it was not going down that easily. "Use Hyper Fang!" James ordered, balling his fists, and Gumshoos raced toward the Bulbasaur, preparing to crunch down on the Bulbasaur.
"YOU CAN DO IT, JACOB!!" Bailey called to the other from the sidelines, as she watched the Gumshoos attack. "To be honest, I'm surprised that Bulbasaur has lasted this long," she murmured to no-one in particular.

Toby fell to the ground when he was hit by Hyper Fang. He couldn’t take much more than that, and as the Gumshoos crunched down on him, he cried out in pain.
“Return!” Jacob called out, swiftly calling back his Bulbasaur before he fainted. “Let’s do this, Jaxon!” he said, sending out his partner. “Iron Tail, and follow up with Covet if that misses!” Jaxon charged at the Gumshoos with its tail gleaming and swung it right towards the Gumshoos’s face, preparing a Covet attack if he missed.
