Pokemon Legends Naganedel (AKA Jurassic Mon) discussion

Hello and welcome to the world of pokemon blah blah blah we know the drill. I'm probably not the best at this but I'll try to explain. I was thinking and I wondered: "what if Jurassic park 2/3 were in pokemon, and the players were researchers hired by a professor to explore it." so I decided to try. But I don't know how to do this so that's where you guys come in. A few of you help with worldbuilding and rules, and I do the rest so that people can enjoy the chaos.
A few rules that I came up with:
rule 1. Minimum of 2 pokemon on your team when starting. Maximum 4.
Rule 2. I made up a lore thing where pokemon have different skill sets based on whether they were wild caught or hatched in captivity. For example, Wild pokemon are better at survival skills such as hunting, foraging, etc. hatched pokemon are more social, and have a greater movepool.
Rule 3. On the subject of moves. pokemon can have a maximum of 6 moves at a time.
Rule 4. NO EXTREMELY HIGH TECH POKEMON. I repeat, people cannot be walking around with things like the car engine I forgot the name of, Magearna, any of the Iron pokemon. Rotom is allowed though.
Rule 5. Have fun and if you help enough with the worldbuilding You can join the official group of admins that gather on this remote website called discord.
bonus rule 6. you can have a max of 2 shinys.
bonus bonus rule: you have to make a character sheet with these specified: Age (above 13), gender (male, female, etc,) appearance, team, dominant hand (will be important for later)

You might want to read the RP forum rules before you attempting to start a thread. Your attempted starting post was... not even remotely how we RP here, and was removed accordingly.

Also bear in mind that there are already restrictions in place on the use of Mythicals, Ultra Beasts and Paradox Pokémon, so that goes without saying. (Varoom and Revavroom are something of a nonsensical restriction because while they resemble engines they are still weird organic creatures with mineral inclusions (the wheels are closer to rocks than they are to wheels) and are not actually manmade or particularly high-tech, but that's neither here nor there. You are allowed to impose some restrictions on your thread on top of those in the RP forum rules, after all.)

After receiving feedback, Let’s try this again.

Revised rules that I came up with:

Rule 3: you have to make a character sheet from this template or something similar
Edit: Rule 4: teams cannot already have fossil Pokémon as that takes away from the story somewhat
Character Sheet:
Name:
Age:
Pronouns:
Occupation:
Physical Appearance:
Height:
Weight:
Hair:
Eyes:
Clothing:
Identifying Marks:
Personality:
Skills:
Past:
Family/Relationships:
Bio (optional):
Pokémon:
(Species, Nickname, Gender, Ability, Nature, Identifying Marks, Wild or bred, Personality, etc.)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to survive on a dinosaur island? probably not. Have you ever wanted to survive on a prehistoric Pokémon island? again probably not. But that's what this is.
The cloud archipelago is the topic of much speculation. In the early 90's a company known as Rocketcorp. bought the largest island, Nebula Isle. No one knows what happened there, but there were rumors that new Pokémon were being made there. Reports of strange Pokémon were hushed up almost as quickly as they appeared. A group of journalists, accompanied by ex-champion Red, went to the island. When they returned, they said the island was abandoned. After their return, wild theories ran rampant. Some people said that Rocketcorp. had bribed the group. Others said that the group was so traumatized by the events that they didn't want to relive the events.
Twenty years later, a Paldean company, SADA, bought the entire Cloud Archipelago with the help of their sponsor, Paldeatech. They stated that it was being used as a nature reserve. A group of researchers were hired by Professor A. to document the local wildlife.

Enter the players.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

The actual RP will commence when I have adapted the original main post. Have fun in the cloud isles. Hopefully you don’t get eaten :)

So, are we just using Canon Pokemon, minus the obvious? Or are there going to be fakemon as well?
The only fossils we have available are quite few in number after all. And I'm not sure about using the mishmash fossils from Galar here.

Canon Pokémon, for now
however, If you're talking about in your starting team, there is one rule I forgot to mention, that being your starting team cannot already contain fossil pokemon as those can and will be encountered. Otherwise, go wild.
I might add more along the way and include some Fakemon to add to the roster but mostly regular Pokémon.
I will add the unmishmashed Galar fossils because they're technically canon:
(Draco[name not found] {carnivorous Semi Quadruped because I'm sick of it being turned into a stegosaurus}
Raptozolt,
Arctosaur {a mosasaur like ice type} ,
Dunklovish (a Pokémon we briefly see the skeleton of in the anime before that maniac of a scientist turns it's head upside down)

here's some Pokémon you will see inevitably:
most bird Pokémon because they can fly and will end up there eventually
Ditto, because I needed a way for Rocketcorp. to get the DNA of every Pokémon and I don't want to wait 70 years to be allowed to use mew

as I said in my first badly written thing, I am open to suggestions (and don't know how to close discord servers so that might still happen)

Anyways have a good day/night depending on your timezone, I will explain any more questions. by the way what do you think of the Prologue thing that I wrote about the whole Rocketcorp thing?

Hmmm, I think the main reason most turn the Draco-half into some sort of stegosaur has to do with the spikes down the tail. Not to mention that Dracozolt is a confirmed herbivore according to its dex entry.

I mean, it's also confirmed to run at 40mph, has a rather therapod like shape (although that might just be dracozolt), has the carnivore toe structure, and would look really cool.
It would make more sense as some type of stegosaur or ceratopsian, but if it was a carnivore it would most likely be some kind of crocodilian like postosuchus.
(I am a dino maniac and cannot be stopped)
But that’s just my opinion.

If you're set on making it a carnivore, how about using Carnotaurus? Then the likely name could be Dracotaur. Not to mention how they're thought to be excellent runners.

Aerodactyl, Kabuto, Omanyte, Anorith, Lileep, Shieldon, Cranidos, Tirtouga, Archen, Tyrunt, Amaura, Draco, Zolt, Arcto, Vish. This is all the "official" Fossil lines so far.
Then there's all the modern Pokemon that resemble extinct animals anyway.
Meganium - Brachiosaurus
Feraligatr - Spinosaur?
Paradox Pokemon are, of course, a no-go.

Tropius - sauropod, Yanmega - griffinflies, the Dreepy line - diplocalus, Lapras - elasmosaurus, Relicanth - coelacanth, Mamoswine - Mammoth, Aggron - ceratosaurus, Sceptile - dilophosaurus, Torterra - carbonemys, Cyclizar - parasaur, Drapion, Ariados, Drednaw - more carbonemys, Sandaconda - beeg snakes, Avalugg - ankylosaur, Krookadile - sarchosuchus possibly, Skarmory - pterosaur
Most bug types
Basculegion - honestly no real clue it just looks prehistoric
maybe helolisk - old depiction of dilophosaurus
possibly breloom
quite a few Pseudo legends

I think Lapras is actually supposed to be a type of sea turtle.
