I checked for a topic like this, and I didn't find one. Mods, if there is one, I didn't see it, so you can shut this down if there is a Nicknames topic already.

Anyways, the title of the topic is pretty self-explanitory. You can post any nicknames you have for your Pokemon, whether its from the old days of Red and Blue version, to Battle Revolution, Diamond and Pearl.

I'll put my Diamond Nicknames:
Torterra- Birnam (after the Birnam Woods.)
Bibarel- Beavee (modeled after the word "beaver" of course)
Honchkrow- Ushi (named after Usher (except its female, so I changed a couple letters) )
Pachirisu- Alvon (pronouced "Alvin"....ye, he's named after the chipmunk)
Blissey- Kigi (prounouced Key-gee) (I just pulled that named out off my ass when Happiny hatched outta the egg)
Lucario--- Kamaura (prounouced "Cam-Aura" Yes...I know it sounds like "camera" The "aura" part is kinda obvious for those who have seen the Lucario movie.)

I got a Staraptor named StarRaper and a Torterra named Tortilla but that's about it. I only nicknamed them 'cause I knew once I got the pal park I was just gonna use my (unnicknamed) Ruby Pokemon. But other than that my Pokemon are just their regular names.

Lately it seems like I've been nicknaming a lot of my Pokemon. My favorite Lucario is nicknamed Meilene.

Here are some of the nicknames of my Pokemon in Diamond.
Arcanine- Anastasio
Weavile 1- Manyula
Weavile 2- Dimoret
Absol- Cassandra
Garchomp- Allison
Roserade- Rosario
Luxray- Neji
Houndoom- Karen

I also have Careful, Bold, Adamant, Modest, Calm, Jolly, and Timid Ditto that are nicknamed by there respective natures. I.e The adamant one is named Adamant, the Jolly is called Jolly, etc.

Never been into giving my pokes names. Only two I really did was my Blastoise in Blue (Squirt) and my Swampert from Sapphire (Skip), both really lame.

And then when I started rebreeding for my WiFi team I decided to go all out and name them after the ones in my fanfic. And inputting the names that many times just to get the right ability, gender, and nature makes me never really want to do it again (was going for a Gallade and female Gardevoir, there were a HELL of a lot of Ralts that I had to go through). They really need to put in a method of checking the nature and abilities before/while you name them.

Lately I've gotten hooked on naming most of my random Pokemon the same way. When I become obsessed with something, I become obsessed, and right now it's all thanks to Spaceballs :p

So, I have:
Mr. Palkia
Mr.Special (Bidoof - to go with my other Bidoof, Shortbus)
Mr. Beaver (Bibarel)
Mr. Owl (HootHoot, and female)
Mr. BigOwl (Take a wild guess - and another female)
Mr. Dimwit (Quagaire, and yet again female)
... and so forth

I was going to go the same way with my Ditto breeding collection, but I decided to branch out a bit with the titles. And thus, the following happened:

and TheBolder (A cookie to those who get the reference :))

Otherwise, I pretty well name 70% of my Pokemon, and generally 98% of my trained Pokemon. The only rare exceptions are ones I simply couldn't think of names for, but I'd usually lowercase their final evo name then just to make the distinction.

I name ALL my Pokemon, unless I just caught them for trading. So I'll just tell you a few:

Dialga - Mamoru (J for protect)
Koichi - Empoleon (J for shining or widespread first son)
Souro - Staraptor (I made it up from the female J name Sora, which means sky)
Chiaki - Luxray (Named after a character in a manga, once again it's J)
Mari - Azumarill (J for Mary and totally unoriginal)
Namiko - Vaporeon (J for wave child)
Enkou - Flareon (J for flame)
Akatsuki - Espeon (J for dawn)
Naito - Umbreon (J for night)
Chiko - Lucario (Dunno where I got it)

Most of my names are Japanese except for a few like:

Kiomi - Pachirisu
Daiku - Sneasel
Moroku - Grotle
Manorou - Monferno
Kaisa - Stunky
Saikii - Psyduck

Those kind of names I just made up.

I only name a few of my Pokemon, and that's just because I usually feel either too lazy to nickname the captured Pokemon, or I just couldn't think of a good nickname. Most fall under the first category.

Well, as I don't have a working gaming system that allows me to see what I nicknamed my Pokemon, so... I'll just have to do this form memory.

When D/P existed only in Japan, I thought of Piplup as Pochama. And Pochama was a little too long for my taste, I shortened it to Poach.

Skuntank-Toxspeed
When I first caught this Pokemon as a Stunky, I wanted it to have 'Toxin' or 'Poison' somewhere in the name. The second half of it's name was going to be 'speeder', but I got distracted and entered only 'speed' in the name.

Staraptor-Ebou
Named after the second karate kata.

Bibarel-Uno
Was the first Pokemon I caught. 'Uno' is Spanish for 'one', so I thought that was appropiate.

Graveler-Shodon
It was named after the fourth karate kata.

Flareon-Solava
Combination of the Spanish word for sun ('sol') and 'lava'.

I decided to not wait for myself to get the Lucario, so I captured a Pikachu! Yay! I nicknamed her Yellow...not because of her color, but in honor of Yellow version. Yellow and Alvon Make a great team in double battles!

I recently caught a Finneon, because thats what the dude in Solaceon Town wanted, (and I've nicknamed all the pokemon I've caught, They'll take too long to post) but I named it Luna.

Seaking:Koral. Really no reason. Maybe because it's fish-y and coral groes under the sea...I really forgot.
Graveler:Roxi. Rock-type, Roxi....yeah, you can figure it out.

Nicknames? I only nickname my main team (and any HM slaves I use)

For instance, my Diamond team is thus:

Monferno - Monkeybone (Hey, it had Brendan Fraser in it and after seeing the fire chimp had an Impish nature, I could not not think of anything better than that)
Honchkrow - Darkstar (It's a dark-type Pokemon. End of story)
Torterra - Bonzaitree (Well, it IS a tree!)
Lucario - Pulsestar (It's can learn two 'pulse' attacks - Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse)
Prinplup - Emperor (Original name I know, but it looks like an Emperor Penguin. And I love Elijah Wood)
Bibarel - HM Slave (Because it is. And level 15. And I really won't level it up beyond that either.)

The only Pokemon in my main team that I do not nickname are Legendaries, mainly because I think it demeans them, for instance, calling a Digala, the lord of Time, I don't know, 'Time Lord' is well...wait.... I know what I'm gonna call my Digala...Doctor Who!

When I get to it in Diamond, it'll be the first time in any game I nickname legendaries.

Dialga- White Rabbit (After the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland....the one with the pocketwatch...it's a time pun)
Uxie- Shikamaru (after the over 200- IQ kid in Naruto...knowledge pun)

Poisons, flowers, insects and species names, great places to get names.

So far my favourites are:
Coniine, male Mismagius, named after one of the chemicals in Hemlock.
Tiphiid, male Scyther, name taken from a type of wasp.
Chalcidoid, male Flygon, name also taken from a type of wasp.
Echinolabi, female Feebas (to be a Milotic), her name is part of "Bulbophyllum Echinolabium" a type of orchid.

I also have Cyanide, that I need to level and evolve, and I'll breeding Ghastly soon. Hopefully I can add Arsenic :)

Well, those are fighters. I have three Ribboner's that are waiting around: Peony, Vash and Wolfwood. I might get back to those in the future.
