Quick critique...you have a interesting premise for a character so far, but there are a couple of things I want to point out. Your character is 6' and 110 lbs. That is beyond skinny and extremely unhealthy; I'm 5'4 and I weigh about 120 lbs and I'm considered pretty small. Also, you might want to flesh out your character a bit more because right now it's pretty bare bones (I could say the same thing about a couple of the other bios here, but everyone has already posted in the RP itself) and slightly overdone at this point.

Also this is something that randomly stuck out to me...as an only child myself (and knowing a lot of other only childs), I can attest that being an only child doesn't cause shyness--that's dependent on your nature and environment.

Edit: One of the UK members brought this to my attention. Despite the existence of Barty Crouch Jr, regular UK parents naming their children after themselves is really rare

Unless your character literally starves themselves or has other problems (like I do irl (6'2 and 97 lbs)) this is way too skinny and I'm not sure a character focusing on anorexia or other weight related problems will be appreciated.

As for personality, all we're really getting is that he's shy and we know he has good knowledge in two subjects. We don't know anything else. Is he laid back or high strung? Is he witty? Trusting? Open or closed minded? There are plenty of other questions I could ask.

Also one thing proof-read before submission I saw a few errors when I first glanced at it

After a bit of discussion in chat, the Quidditch match is going to be shoved back a little bit so we can have some more large Chat RP interactions beforehand. Dunno if we'll do more than this, but a trip to Hogsmeade on Halloween will be in order, as well as the typical Halloween feast.

Personality: Insecure of himself and his abilities, yet determined to make the most of it. Also, when it comes to youngsters, can be a major Papa Bear.

Family: Two wizard parents, who travel a lot. William instead lives with family friends, who are Muggles. This foster family consists of two parents, an elder son, and a young magical daughter, Annabel

History: While his parents both come from pure elitist families, they are more open-minded, and get along well with the non-wizarding community. Due to expertise with exotic magical creatures, they often need to go from place to place to help keep tabs on the populations of such creatures. Because of various reasons, they decided to leave their son with their muggle friends rather than with his relatives. Shortly after his arrival at the age of eight, Anna was born, and quickly discovered to be a muggle-born. William developed a strong bond with his foster sibling in the years before his acceptance into Hogwarts. He has been sending her letters constantly for as long as she’s been able to read.

So I'm just going to say this here, since sometimes (or rather, almost all the time) not everyone is in the chatroom at the same time so we can discuss everything with everyone.

The plan to Chat RP our Hogsmeade adventures, while enticing and stuff, might not work out due to the differing time zones and how easily out of hand chat RPing with 10 people in varying locations can get. I think perhaps we could split into small groups and chat RP our respective adventures whenever we can and have one person per group do the write-up, or, if that doesn't work, just do the vignette the traditional forum RP way. ^^;

If we RP in groups as I'm flexible for times I can RP in any group. I'd imagine splitting it of NA people and none NA people would be the easiest just due to how late it is here when some people get on ^^;

The traditional form is also fine by me, but it's up to whatever people want, really. Hopefully we can get started up again soon

Okaysss, general consensus in chat is that we split into small groups, 2-4 ish people each group, and one person in each group does the forum post. I know that Carmen and RMA are doing/have done their session, and Tai and I are doing ours at the moment, so yeah.

Hogsmeade is set right around Christmas time, early December. The Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor game has already happened, with the badgers slaughtering the lions with a big win (this was decided via coin flip a while back, I'll post the log of it later), so keep this in mind just in case. Go forth and make your groups now, guys! And have fun buying sweets and butterbeer~

Name: Damian Cosmo Yates
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Height/Weight: 5’10” and 158lbs.
Hair: Straight auburn, which had been cut short and only recently started to grow out again.
Eyes: Blue.
Clothes: Blue jeans with holes in the knees, gray t-shirt and sneakers, green hoodie.
Personality: The child of two doctors, one a muggle and the other muggle born, Damian has always been very prideful about his upbringing; even more so as a Slytherin, due to its history of blood purity. Despite this, he considers himself to be easy going, and can be easy enough to get along with if you can get past the pride. Though clever, he is something of a slacker, only truly trying in the classes that interest him.
House: Syltherin
Wand: Silver Lime with a Phoenix Feather Core, 12 and a quarter inches, slightly springy.
Pet: Male Tabby Cat, named Daredevil.
Family: Muggle born wizard father, Lewis, and muggle mother, Scarlett.
Love Interests: None.
History: Though a wizard, Damian’s father rejected work in a magical field, instead becoming a Physician and using his magic to subtly aid his patients. He fell for a coworker of his, a muggle, who became Damian’s mother. When Damian was born, his father retired from the workforce and opened a private potions shop for wizards in his home town of Gloucester. It was using the money they earned from this that Damian was able to afford his school supplies.


Sorted into Slytherin, Damian is something of an outcast: not exactly hated, but not very much liked either. His father is an Animagus, and Damian has been studying to become one himself, under Lewis and on his own. He believes that this year he will finally crack the secret. As one might expect, he does well in Transfiguration. He also shows similar talent to his father in Herbology and Potions. His prospects in other classes are mediocre at best.

Classes: Astronomy, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, Herbology, History of Magic, Potions, Study of Ancient Runes, Transfiguration.

After some discussion in chat, a few of us (Sho, Rex, RMA, and Tai, to be exact) thought about having a little scene in the library as the next vignette, possibly because the little 5th years will be busy studying for the OWLs. It'll take place after our previous Hogsmeade vignette and stuff.

So I guess the questions are, who would be interested, how do we execute this (forum RP or chat RP), and when do we start?

(As a note, Laura probably won't be participating in this vignette due to reasons, mainly because I myself will be busy and stuff. If I'm not busy during the day we do a chat RP/ if my workload isn't too harsh during the time it's a forum RP that might change, but until then don't count me in.)
