THE ULTIMATE CROSSOVER RETURNS!
For those of you unaware what Project X Zone is, it's an action RPG featuring SEGA, Capcom and Namco characters with a few Nintendo cameos. All in all, it's the ultimate video game crossover. Perfect for a roleplaying community that loves crossovers, huh?
The basis for Project X Zone is that you control a variety of character pairs that are never separated and always fight together, with a third solo unit able to join any pair they wish. So when you're creating a character, if it's a main character you're actually making two. Well, you're not MAKING one per say since this is all canon characters but... STILL.
This RP works alongside the canon of all of the universes it's part of, so don't be afraid to mention spoilers for the game the character comes from unless you're pulling them from a specific part of their timeline. Alright, so let's get started!
1) Follow the regular RP rules.
2) Ideally most characters should come from SEGA, Capcom and Namco properties, but a few Nintendo and third-party characters are allowed. Just don't overdo it!
3) This takes place outside of the timeline for the rest of the Project X Zone games, since I only have PXZ1 and haven't beaten it yet.
4) If you read all the rules say Tenzai Ninjitsu somewhere in one of your forms.
5) Please, try not to make the characters overpowered...
6) Suggestions for the direction of the plot and areas are fine, but don't overdo it! If you're worried about one of your characters not having a place to join in yet, don't force them. I've got a plan.

I decided to change the character form format since I realized the old one was meant for a video game, not for an RP. I made the necessary modifications here.

And yes, I do have goddamn Ezio Auditore as one of my characters. Whatcha gonna do about it? (If someone wants to use a Ubisoft character then it can't be from Assassin's Creed unless it's a solo unit)
Also, I'm changing my restrictions on what is and isn't allowed in terms of characters. If it's a SEGA, Capcom or Namco Bandai character it's pretty much approved, but for any other series the permissions vary.

I assume since we're using the meme-power Segata if he is in the story how do we prevent him from being a story breaker character?

Also, is there any character limitation to this? Capcom, Sega & Namco appear to be OK but you said some Nintento is fine and there appears to be some Marvel characters. Does that mean we could also pull even more characters from those and perhaps anything that Capcom has had a crossover fighting game with? Like SNK & Tatsunoko. I have some freedom and am quite interested so I just want to know what the range here is.

SNK/Tatsunoko could work by the same stretches as Marvel does, and Nintendo guys are primarily there because Xenoblade and Xenosaga were made by Monolith Soft, the same guys who developed PXZ in the first place. And there's also some other characters not associated with the three main companies in there, like TOME and Assassin's Creed. But y'know, I approved them since they can work well.
When it comes to characters, there's three tiers;
SEGA/Namco Bandai/Capcom tier - If they're characters made by these guys they're probably accepted.
Crossover/Nintendo tier - If they've crossed over with SEGA, Namco Bandai or Capcom characters before they may work, such as Iron Man and Captain America from Marvel vs Capcom.
Anything Else tier - It depends on who the character is on whether I accept them or not.

And to answer your question, Segata... well, we can't really nerf him, he'll just have to be used situationally and late-game. He only uses his more powerful abilities rarely.

I see. Thank for for these much needed clarifications. Though Segata being the most OP in a setting with Marvel characters is hilarious. But I think this could be very fun if done right :)

Would this extend to anime-based games that Bandai has made? Like Dragon Ball FighterZ (Would need some nerfs, which I am fine with) or Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm? Just to give examples.

3) There's an event I mentioned in my character sheet called the Crossing, which is what causes all of this. Each RPer will be creating an OC that will either join with another OC to form a Team or will be a Solo unit, and each OC has access to one of the Helboxes, 24 boxes (each designated by one of the greek letters) that hold the power to create portals between different universes and, if combined, allow one to control the multiverse. The main villain seeks to collect all of the Helboxes. Our OCs, some ordinary people and some important ones in a world similar to our own just with monsters, each have obtained a Helbox in some way, and due to the Crossing these Helboxes are now sending them to far-off realities.

1. Okay, but I do hope there is some balancing made with the Crossing. Otherwise characters like Phoenix & Maya would never get to fight or if they did would be overshadowed by OP characters. Everyone deserves a chance to kick ass and look cool.
2. I understand that much. I'll have to think this over cause there is A LOT of options to pick from and I don't know what direction to go in XD.
3. If our OC is an "ordinary person" how will they take part in the action or really do anything in the RP?

While I do appreciate the tag, I am not the biggest fan of these companies and their franchises. In fact, the only characters I know much about are the SEGA sonic characters. There were only two of the forms you gave as an example where I actually knew the characters, like some of them were familiar and some, I was genuinely like 'where is person this from'? I think I just need to play Capcom and Namco games. For now, I will not join. But I will keep it open if I find a cool character I want or feel up to it etc.

Eh, it varies. It could drop out of the sky into your backyard, it could be a family heirloom, it could be a purchase you made alongside a pack of Dragon Ball Z trading cards... as long as a character isn't making it new, it likely works.

OCs means original characters, like Mii Koryuji and Kogoro Tensai (the ones I displayed earlier). PXZ always has them.

I don't think the "Oglivie Maurice" part is canon to the games, and I assume by "Archie and game canon" you mean post-Super Genesis Wave because they're basically the same. Aside from that it looks good.

Oh, and the OC sheet is basically the same as it is for the rest of the characters. Just put down the name of the RP where it says "Source Game".

Just to ask, does Sakura Shinguji need to be paired with Ichiro Ogami? It's okay if they are a must duo but I was just thinking of branching up my OCs and characters to make my own little version of the Imperial Assault Force. So I just need clarification.

I'd prefer to keep them as a pair due to their relationship. Also OCs will get paired up with other OCs, so if you see someone else's OC that you think could work well with yours maybe you should ask that OC's RPer if they can be a unit.

Okay, just looking up some OVAs of Sakura Wars and like the concept. Though I'll likely need clarification on their relationship and how to portray them. Working on bios though I gotta hospital visit today to work in so may take some time.

...uh, all I know about Sakura Wars is that there's an international squad of people, they've got people in Japan, Texas and France, and Sakura and Ichiro are a couple. They're mainly there since they're mainstays of PXZ.

Well I have an idea and I gotta work them into it. So I'll study the OVAs and read their bios to do my justice to them.

Though now I see that Ruby is gonna be part of this. Would feel wrong to leave out the rest of Team RWBY but I'll work on my first idea before I consider any additions.
