And the bio of our first antagonist is complete! I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out and
oh boy is it gonna be F U N
Name: Robyn Nott
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: Robyn has piercing green eyes, a pale complexion, messy orange hair, a lot of freckles, and is noticeably short and skinny. He wears a dark green hoodie, with an upside-down orange triangle symbol on it- like the chest of a Robin. The hoodie also has a Kangaroo pocket, perfect for sliding both hands into while you lurk around and cause mischief. He wears a golden mask that covers his eyes and nose, shaped to look like an owl’s face, with glowing orange eyes- this mask grants him a form of night-vision, and the ability to detect heat signals. He also wears dark green pants, with the bottoms rolled up, and dark green slip-on sneakers with an orange fringe around the bottom and top edge.
Personality: Robyn is cocky and arrogant, and has a sharp sense of humour and wit- although this can often be lost under his need to constantly make quips and one-liners. He struggles to pay attention to one thing for too long, and has severe authority issues, the kind of person who doesn’t like being told what to do (and would much rather do the COMPLETE OPPOSITE just to spite that person). Despite all this, he has a very strict moral code- he always saw Huntsmen and Huntresses as heroes as a child, and is extremely disappointed by the world he grew into. He’s very insulting towards hunstmen who don’t meet his standards of heroism and morality, even willing to severely injure them. He’s headed on a dark path with his ambitions and creed, although, despite this, has yet to actually take a life. He also takes it upon himself to stand up for the weak and downtrodden (whether they approve of his methods, or not), and holds a great disdain for Atlas.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Robyn is extremely fast, and an amazing shot with his bow. He’s gotten a pretty good eye for targeting certain opponents, due to the use of his Semblance and the goggles on his mask, and is an excellent ranged fighter with the ability to move and attack at the same time. However, he can quickly waste his own Aura due to taking hits or using his Semblance, and- well, the best way to describe it is that he’s “squishy”. His nimble, light build isn’t exactly made for taking hits, and once he’s down, it can be pretty hard for him to get back up again. This makes being outnumbered a major weakness for him.
Weapons: “Marigold”, a high-tech bow powered by Cyan Hard-Light Dust from Atlas. In its bow form, it has a metallic, almost camera like structure in the middle. The aiming + symbol, and the machine built around it, automatically create arrows out of hard-light Dust when the bowstring is pulled back upon, notching them. The rest of the bow has golden areas where it was customised, with the actual metal it was made out of being a grey iron-like substance. At either end of the bow, there are two small holes that glow with the cyan aura of Hard-Light Dust. Attached out from these ends are two circular orbs of Cyan Dust, that automatically create a bow-string out of Hard-Light Dust while in Bow forme. By folding out the metallic ends upward, Marigold can be converted from Bow forme into Staff forme. This causes the bow-string generators to automatically turn off, but the glowing cyan holes at either end of the bow unveil their true purpose- automatically generating Hard-Light dust in a Rhombus shape on either end of the staff. These can be used to stab/poke, but are surprisingly far more effective for just bludgeoning people.
Semblance: Steal from the Rich - By using his own Aura, Robyn’s Semblance allows him to cover weapons or projectiles he comes into contact with in a green veil of energy for a period of time, granting them a power he refers to as “Aura Breaking”. Weapons imbued with this property become more effective at damaging the aura of others while the power is applied (although, they seem to almost become soft, the veil of energy preventing them from doing any actual physical damage to a person). Another element of this Semblance is that when a weapon imbued with this power damages someone’s aura, their aura almost seems to visibly burst and distribute into the air, being sapped and distributed among those nearby. This is uncontrollable, and seems to favour those with the lowest aura nearby.
Backstory: Robyn, in an EXTREMELY surprising twist of fate, was born and raised in Atlas high society. His mother died during childbirth, and his father, Sherrod Nott, was an Atlesian General, who was in charge of keeping order in the poorer city of Mantle. Robyn had strict pressure placed upon him to perform, training in combat from an early age, expected by his father to graduate from Atlas Academy and join the Military. Bored of his constant regimen of training and work, Robyn snuck out to Mantle to go adventuring- and that was where he saw the work of his father’s men. A significant portion of the Faunus population lived in Mantle, living in poverty like most of its population. Finally seeing the truth of the world, the plight of the poor, and the terrible way his father’s guardsmen treated the Faunus, Robyn confronted his father about it when he returned home that night. Sherrod responded with shock and fury, and condemned his child to being unable to go out to Mantle ever again. Since that day, Robyn’s father became more and more abusive, as Robyn’s constant attempts to sneak out and help the people of Mantle escalated in complexity and danger. Unwilling to comply with the system, his success at the primary Huntsman Academy he attended began to slip, and at 16 years old, when he SHOULD have been working on trying to get into Atlas Academy, as his father wanted, Robyn finally left home, escaping into Mantle with nothing but his bow, a packed lunch, and his wits. There he fell in with fellow rogues and thieves, quickly adjusting to the nature of Mantle and learning their ways. This is also where he met his loyal partner, Johanna Ashen. For a year, Robyn worked up chaos behind the scenes, hoping to help the citizens of Mantle and overthrow his father. However, after picking a few unsuccessful fights with the Atlesian military, most of his group were captured, Robyn and Johanna leaving the city and heading into Mistral, where they quickly found their place in the city’s criminal underbelly. It was also there where the two fell into the employ of a new boss- with that person’s help, Robyn customised his bow to abandon the life in Atlas he had left behind, bearing the colours of his new faction. This “New faction” were associated with many dangerous criminals, including even the White Fang. Now, as we come to the present day, Robyn was given a special task- him and Johanna, with the support of their leader’s men and the White Fang, have one goal, to capture the professional Huntress Napier Cissus. Despite Robyn’s desire to simply kill her, due to how much her beliefs disgust him, he’s bound by his word to not do such a thing.
Other: Is rarely if ever without a spraycan. His crew has their own tag, you’ll know if you see it.
