The 'Charms Creative Christmas Competition

Greetings and good tidings to all, and welcome to the start of the holiday festivities at Pokécharms. The decorations are up, Teapot is tangled up in fairy lights, and @Linkachu is preparing to make more pizza than has ever been consumed before. And that's just two of the admins...

This year, we're running a Creative Corner competition, where submitting creative works - art, writing, sprites, photographs, and many other things - could win you a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. The competition is open to all members of Pokécharms, old and new, and is really easy to enter, just put #creativechristmas somewhere in your work's summary or description. Full details are after the cut.[prebreak][/prebreak]

• The competition is to submit artwork or written works to the Creative Corner. Any work that follows our rules can be submitted, it does not necessarily have to be holiday themed (but it wouldn't hurt!). To enter the competition, put #creativechristmas somewhere in your work's summary or description. Our team of highly opinionated Porygon will make sure we find it. The works will then be judged by staff to determine the winner.
• All entries are still eligible for all the usual Corner interaction - Likes, comments, trophies, etcetera, and we encourage the Pokécharms user base to show their appreciation for works they like.
• The competition will run between today (Saturday 14th December) and midnight on Sunday, January 5th. The time's based on your own timezone - the competition ends at midnight wherever you happen to be in the world.
• You may submit as many works for the competition as you like.
• The winner will be judged by a panel of the Pokécharms staff, and the winner announced shortly after the deadline in a news post here.
• The prize for the winner is a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y for the 3DS system - the winner may choose which version they receive.

Now, for the rules:

• All submissions must follow the Creative Corner rules. Specifically, I'd like to emphasise that all works must be created by the submitter. That means you can only submit works you created yourself - do not post works from other people, works you have commissioned, or random images from Google.
• We do not accept content of a sexual nature on the Corner - no porngraphy or erotic content of any sort, either visually or described in a written work. This is simply due to many of our users being under 18.
• Pokécharms administrators and moderators are welcome to submit entries for the competition, but they will not be considered for the prize.
• Just to cover the basic rights stuff: By submitting your work, you're granting us an unlimited license to use it on the Pokécharms site and on our social media pages, host the content on our servers, and make backups or transfer the content when necessary for the operation of the site. You maintain full rights and ownership over your work, and can delete it from our site at any time.

Submitting works is simple: Click Creative Corner on the top navigation bar, then click the big red Create New Work button. You'll need to be logged in to use it, so be sure to register an account or sign in with Facebook first!

See, this sounds amazing, and I would love to enter, but I'm almost certain that I'll be receiving X/Y for Christmas, so I don't need the prize. If it was just for the competitiveness of it (as in, just to see who would win first place), I would participate, but that's not how it is. However, that doesn't mean I won't be posting anything there, because I still wish to be in the creative spirit of the holidays, but I just won't partake in this contest.

By the way, in the second bullet point, it cuts off after "This will," leaving an incomplete sentence.

I understand. We offer both versions so we can give someone the game they don't already own - but I think we'd be able to give out a prize of equivalent value if you already have XY. I'll check, and if we can I'll edit it into the post.

No, that's okay. I'm perfectly okay with the not entering. Like I said, I will still be posting Works around this time, but I'll stay out of competing for a prize. I think someone who doesn't think they'll get X/Y for Christmas deserves that prize, and anyway, it saves the trouble of finding a prize of equivalent value!

Click the Creative Corner tab at the top of the page, then click the big red Create New Work button - it's in the sidebar, or at the bottom below the works if you're on a phone. You can also click "Create New Work" in the white bar at the top of the page if you're on the Creative Corner page.

And you're allowed to submit works you drew yourself.- so if you drew them yourself, rather than just tracing them, then you're fine.

I cannot remember the specific work in question (I had to deal with far too many fools breaking corner rules and they all sort of melt together) but as a whole, if a work has been deleted that means it violated one of the Creative Corner rules.

Having 'just started' is not an excuse to break any of the rules and whining about it while using chatspeak (which is ANOTHER rule violation!) is not helping your case any.

Why would we need your birth date? Not only is it in your profile, but it's irrelevant to us.

And I'm noting that there isn't a function on the site for users to delete their own accounts - you have to request staff do it. You're saying to us that if you don't get treated the way you want by the staff, you'll delete your account - which is a threat any way you slice it. I point this out only because it's worth noting that we're only human, and really don't take kindly to perceived threats.
