And for those that don't know, the Dotted Hole Ruins are on Six Island in the Sevii Islands from FR/LG.
BIC:
A 17-year old teen was boarding a ship towards Six Island. His blue eye and green eye contrasted with each other, and stood out amongst his somewhat spiky light brown hair. He was carrying a small fanny pack with him, along with his Poketch, Pokenav, and his own personal creation, called the Reflector. His jacket was green and his clothes made him stand out quite easily. But his Pokeballs were what caught people's attention. Anyone who knew him well enough, knew why those Pokeballs looked weird.
As he walked along the ship's railing to get away from the stale air in the cabins, he heard the distinct sound of running against the deck. He glanced behind him to find a kid following him, panting as each moment passed. The kid looked at him with a stare on his face.
"You looking for me twerp?" was his icy response.
"Yes!" the kid responded eagerly. "I want to battle you right now, before we get off at Six Island."
He gave him a cold look, but after a moment, he sighed and realized there wasn't another way to do this. "So, you really want to battle me do you? Well, tell you what, once we get off, I'll battle you on the beach. There's more room there, and on top, it won't damage the ship."
The kid quickly accepted the offer and raced away. He dashed away so quickly, that he almost slipped on the deck and fell into the ocean.
He thought to himself, ‘Well, I better get my stuff ready. Looks like we're about to land on Six Island. That kid looks like he might prove a handful on the beach. Just like sand. Too much of it and it gets annoying really quickly.'
--------
Once the boat had reached port and docked for the time being, the little kid quickly found Jet and issued his challenge. The two headed for the nearby beach, with the kid leading. The sand was all grainy and storm clouds were overhead when the two began the battle.
"Two on two sound okay?" as he asked Jet.
"Fine by me," as he took out one of his custom made Pokeballs of his own design. The Pokeballs were built in the intention of kicking them like a soccer ball, instead of throwing them. They had a harder surface, due to the intense speed at which they were kicked at. He kicked out his first Pokeball, an orange-red one. Out popped the silhouette of a pony on fire, a Ponyta. The kid then threw out his Pokeball and released a Politoed.
"We ready over there yet? Or are you going to stand there and do nothing mister?" the kid remarked.
"With all good time. You make the first move and we'll see."
"Fine then. Poiltoed, start off with Water Sport, then use Rain Dance," replied the kid. Poiltoed dampened the field so Fire attacks did next to no damage with Water Sport and Rain Dance only hampered Ponyta further. On top, the rain boosted Water type attacks.
"Water attacks may work, but you'll have to keep up with us first. Pegasus, Agility! Follow up with Double Team." Jet thought to himself that the speed driven clones would slow Poilteod down enough that Ponyta could get the combo Ponyta and himself were training for in the upcoming tourney he was planning to attend.
"Politoed, use Surf to get rid of all the clones on the beach!" the boy replied with some anxiety. Politoed summoned a huge wave that came crashing down on the beach front.
"Try again twerp. You didn't even get close enough to touch Ponyta. Look up." Ponyta was high in the air.
"Bounce Pegasus, then follow with Iron Tail." Ponyta came crashing down on Poiltoed and its flaming tail glowed and hit Poiltoed square on the chest.
"That should do it for Politoed. Sorry about it getting hit in the chest, but that's how a battle goes right?"
Reluctantly, the boy recalled his Pokemon, and sent out his next Pokemon. "Gliscor, you're up!" and out came a Gliscor as it sailed into the air.
"Good job Pegasus, return," as the Ponyta returned to the Pokeball in a flash of light. Jet kicked out a river blue Pokeball and said, "Let's go Buizel." And in a flash of light, a Buizel came out and jumped high into the sky upon exiting the Pokeball.
"Ready over there, right?" asked Jet with some impatience in his voice now.
"You know I am. This time, I'm going to beat you!" was the lad's energetic response. "Gliscor, Swords Dance!" Gliscor then danced erratically and then glowed off an immense power.
"Buizel, counter with Bulk Up, and then use Dive!" Buziel sucked up air and then dived underwater to prepare its attack.
The boy then showed some logic for the first time since Jet had met him. "That Buizel of yours has to come up for air sometime. And Gliscor can wait all day in the air, above the water. Your Buizel will run out of air and have to finish the attack, then my Gliscor can strike!" as he was beginning to run short on breath after the lengthy explanation.
"So you know that Buizel can't stay underwater for ever. However, by using Bulk Up, Buizel has breathed in more oxygen and can stay under longer. On top, you do realize it is still raining right?" replied Jet as he hesitated to complete his thought.
"Buizel, finish your attack," ordered the trainer as the water weasel surfaced and began her attack. Buizel moved at an incredible speed, due to the rain from before. She was faster on her feet because of her natural nimbleness in rainy conditions.
"Gliscor, attack with Poison Jab while diving down on Buizel to gain a speed boost," ordered the young trainer.
"Buizel, counter with Aqua Jet and zoom right by Gliscor and hit Gliscor on its back with Ice Punch," relaying orders to his trusted Pokemon. Buizel zoomed right by Gliscor and hit it square on the back. However, Buizel did look like it got a scratch on her leg from the Gliscor's attack when they passed each other and it looked like that there was some poison in Buizel's system now.
"Gliscor, quickly use Roost, to stabilize your downward motion," ordered the trainer as he saw Gliscor spiraling downward. Gliscor managed to fly down and ground itself, recovering HP in the process.
"Buizel, quickly, use Aqua Jet while Gliscor is vulnerable on the ground," ordered Jet. Buizel dashed at Gliscor, but not at as a high speed as before. Jet realized that the poison was taking effect on Buizel and her speed.
Gliscor was hit, but didn't take much damage as anticipated, as Aqua Jet's damage was solely dependent on Buizel's speed. Jet thought to himself, ‘Well, that's not going to work. The poison is hampering her speed. Hmmm….wait, I got it!' As his thought finished, the flying Pokemon was about to get up.
As Gliscor got up, the trainer ordered, "Gliscor use Aerial Ace and finish this!"
To the young trainer's surprise, Jet had one last trick up his sleeve. "With less than Gliscor's health remaining, this should finish it," Jet announced. "Buizel, use Brine on Gliscor to finish this."
Buizel began charging liquid power, and released it on Gliscor when Gliscor appeared behind Buizel when it used Aerial Ace. The effect was deadly. Gliscor was knocked out, and Buizel was barely standing. Both trainers recalled their Pokemon. The boy looked distraught in his loss and was beginning to cry.
Jet walked up to the young trainer and decided to lift his spirits a little. "You've got some talent there kid. Some more work, and you'll be one great trainer. And I know the perfect place too. There's a miniature tournament going on down by the Dotted Hole Ruins. You should go. It would be a good thing for you. Free to register and you'll win a nifty prize for your Pokemon if you win or place high enough. It's being sponsored by Professor Oak and Professor Elm, so it's going to attract some tough trainers. It starts in a couple of days from now."
"Thanks, sir," as he lifted his head after the words he received from Jet. "I guess I'll head out and do my best then. And don't worry I'll get stronger just to beat you mister." After that, the brat took off and headed towards the town.
‘Guess I better take off too. Oak-sama and Elm-sama will want to talk to me before the tournament begins,' Jet thought to himself as he looked toward the town as it began to rain hard..
--------
Jet walked in the direction of the town ahead and decided to stay at the Pokemon Centre for the night. It was raining to hard to continue down to the Ruins, and the trails were dangerous enough before it was wet.
‘Well the Dotted Hole Ruins Tournament should be a good place to see some battles…and have some. I've got some time as well. I might just train Buizel to increase her speed even more.' He thought about what to do the next day before he retired for the night.
OOC: It might be choppy, but hey, cut me some slack.
Anywho, be creative in how you get invited to the tournament. From a flyer from some agent dude to hearing from beating someone or something to that jist. Just make sure you get to Six Island somehow. Having 4 Pokemon is a must, but 5 or more is better. They also don't have to be in the final stage. They could be still in their first stage (My Buizel and Ponyta for Example).
Let's go then...and into the Ruins on Six Island.
