"Right!" Chibi had shouted at Vyala. "Vyala, go help Skydive take care of that cluster of Marowaks and-WHAT THE HELL?!" She shouted as the ground began to shake. "Who in the name of Arceus is dumb enough to use Earthquake here?!" She yelled.
"Vul!" Vyala barked, pointing a paw upwards. Chibi looked up to see the friend of Cody, who had been crying at the Pokemon Center earlier.
"Oh." Was all Chibi said before she was picked up from the ground. Her first reaction was to scream, but she reconized the rocky texture of the claw on her back and relaxed, allowing Skydive to carry her up further. Vyala leaped into the air as if she had just grown wings of her own and was caught by Chibi. The trio watched as the Dark Pulse ripped open the ground below them as if a huge claw had just come down and gouged open the ground. "Sheesh. Aren't things getting a little out of hand?!!" She shouted at no one in particular, flashing an extremely annoyed glance at the trainer.
But apparently, that was not the only extremely stupid and dangerous stunt he was about to do. A bright flash of light was the only warning they got before chaos gained control of the situation. The Foretress that had caused the Earthquake unleashed a powerful Solarbeam, then began spinning around and around like a crazy wheel of death. The whitish beam tore up the ground more than the Dark Pulse. Things soon became deadly, when it hit a large rock from Skydive's Rock Tomb and began spinning crazily out of control. It cut through the sky and clouds alike, incinerating anything foolish or unlucky enough to get hit. Suddenly, Skydive let out an earth-shattering roar as the beam hit his wing and most of his torso, he dipped sharply and began to fall towards the ground. Chibi thought she saw it also hit a Sableye, but then matters turned to terrifying.
Chibi could not help but scream at the top of her lungs as the destructive beam slashed at the air inches away from her face, her skin was burned just by the sheer heat of it, and the end of her red hair began their own inferno as the beam singed them. Somehow, Skydive managed to rotate to where his back was pointing down, and crashed to the gouged ground, his passengers in his claws were unharmed. Chibi and Vyala were more shaken than hurt, but it was soon replaced by fury.
"HEY!" She screamed at the owner of the Foretress. "THESE DON'T GROW BACK OVERNIGHT!!!" She held out her still-smoldering hair for him to see. Before she could say more, the owner of the Sableye also exploded, putting everything Chibi was feeling into words. When he finished, he said something to a Starmie, which then caused roots to spring up from the cracked ground and take hold of the Marowak and hold them tightly in place. Chibi had seen the move before, even teaching it to Sapwood, she turned away from the effects of the Grass Knot and went to Skydive's side. The Aerodactyl was making moaning sounds, his purple and gray wings were crupled underneath his body like crushed paper, scorching burns covered almost two-thirds of his body.
It was impossible to tell whether it was rainwater or tears running down Chibi's face as she gazed at her injured friend. Vyala let out a whine and gently nudged a section of Skydive's neck that had not been burned black; she grieved along with her owner. Chibi slowly and gently unclipped Skydive's Ultra Ball from her vest, almost as if she were in slow motion. "You did great Skydive," she whispered, enlarging the ball, "I'll heal you at the Center." Skydive barely moved as the Ultra Ball returned its cargo back where it was safe from harm. Chibi whirled around, rage inflaming her jade eyes. She wanted to find the person responsible for this and wringe his little pencil neck. Vyala growled and spat out a few embers, where they sizzled on the wet ground. She scoured the area, looking for the trainer.
Lucky for the person responsible though, Daytime lopunny, Lala, came running up towards Chibi, snapping her out of her murderous thoughts. Lala stopped in front of them, looked around, behind Chibi, even picked up Vyala looking for something. Or rather, someone. "Okay Lala," Chibi said, clipping the Ultra Ball to her vest and taking out a Luxury Ball. "Hammy's not hurt in any way." She opened the ball and released the small electric pokemon again, who looked quite pleased to see Lala. In fact, he jumped onto her wrist, ran up her arm, and perched on top of her head between her two ears.
Vyala grumbled as she was put back down and glanced at Chibi, whose eyes looked faintly amused. Hammy stretched his neck and scanned the whole area, as if just remembering where they were. His black eyes took in the destruction, then glanced at Chibi with a "Whoa. What-happened-here?" look.
"I'll explain at a better time." Chibi said, also glancing around to see if anyone needed help.
(Yes, it is very typical of me to get pissed off about my hair before thinking about more important matters. And Kal's one lucky person...for now.)
