Back In Character:

The world has changed.. drastically..

Two years ago, an ongoing pandemic had been raging on. This pandemic affected the globe drastically, and has killed many people and Pokémon in the process.

An unknown source had made the “vaccine“ to the pandemic. It had been a success, and it showed positive results.

The least infected of the regions, Kalos, had not received any shipments, as it had barely any cases. But that wasn’t the reason; all transports of the “vaccine” had failed, and nobody knows the reason as to why.

But this would soon prove lucky to the Kalos region, as the “vaccine” really didn’t show any positive effects. Rather, it would show negative effects.

Soon, the vaccine revealed its true purpose. Its first victim had changed.. drastically. They would have blank, red eyes, and talked rather weirdly. Their Pokémon were also changed like that. They would also turn out to be more agile, more strong, and more intelligent.

This would soon go to all who got injected with the vaccine. One by one, the regions got destroyed. Kanto. Galar. Johto. Alola. Unova. Sinnoh. Hoenn.

Only Kalos remained, and yet had anyone get affected by the “vaccine”, as Kalos hadn’t received it yet.

But time only tells when Kalos falls too..

15-year-old Allie Smith woke up to the sound of the alarm, which she immediately slammed snooze on. She still felt tired, and could barely sleep because she was thinking about what she was going to do; attempt to save Kalos from the biggest threat in the world, the “vaccine” to the recent pandemic.

She eventually woke up, stretching her arms, and looked at the time. It was 6:30, which was perfect for her, as she had about one hour to get ready. Allie changed into her red skater dress, brushed her hair, and put her red bow on her hair.

After finally finishing her preparations, she immediately began to go to the Professor’s lab and waited in the lobby room.

Ben entered the lab as well, still looking half-asleep. Most of his pokemon were out as well. Auro the Lucario was at his side, as usual. Swipe the Weavile had left her trainer and began excitedly studying the technology around. Shovis the Ampharos was by her side, hoping to keep her out of trouble, and fascinated by the tech herself. Only Auto the Golurk, Viran the Greninja, and Dragoo the Goodra were in their balls, each for a specific reason.
Ben sighed and scratched his head groggily.
"What kinda monster makes people wake up at 7:00?" he groaned.
Auro glared at his trainer, speaking to him through aura. No one could hear it except Ben.
The kind that wants to save the world.
Ben shrugged and leaned on a wall, giving a welcoming smile at the girl in the lobby as well. Auro simply looked over at the other pokemon, pointedly ignoring everyone else.

By the time the sun began to shine through Issac’s window, he was already up and at his desk, scrolling through various websites, social media pages and forums. He had spent around the past hour studying up on any updates concerning the virus. He wasn’t sure just how much Sycamore was planning on explaining the group, so he decided to do a little investigating himself. Before he could scroll any further, the farmiliar cry of a Pokémon could be heard, breaking him from his trace.

He gazed back, giving a small yawn before smiling at the large bird Pokémon that stood on the other end of the room. “Hmm, sorry Decidueye, got a little caught up.” The trainer muttered out, causing his partner to roll his eyes. The archer simply extended it’s wing, gesturing towards the clock that sat beside Issac’s bed. “Ahh damn, almost time, don’t wanna be late. Thanks pal.”

Getting to his feet, Issac changed into his usual garb. Together, he and Decidueye left their room and made their way to the lobby. He glanced out the window, a soft sigh escaping his lips. The world had changed so quickly. And according to Sycamore, it was up to Issac and a handful of others to fix it. Eventually the pair reached the lobby, Issac giving a friendly wave to the others.

Allie waved at the other two boys who just entered in the rooms, giving a smile as she let out her Sylveon, who she gave a bit of a brush up before allowing her to roaming around until the time came. Sylveon decided to lay down, as she still slightly felt a little tired as well as Allie did.

Allie looked over the letter she had gotten from Professor Sycamore one last time.

Dear Allison Smith,
As you probably know, the whole world is under anarchy.

This “cure” to the virus had worked, but it has led to the current situation the other regions have now. I know this may be a huge favour to ask of you, but knowing you are rather experienced as a trainer, could you help me stop this disaster from reaching Kalos? I understand if you don’t accept, knowing that this may be too much for you.

If you do want to help me, please come to my lab tomorrow at 8 am.

Thanks,

Professor Sycamore

It was 7:30, still a bit early, but Allie just laid down on the chair and rested, as she still felt a bit tired.

Jacob entered the lab, after running in, not realizing that it was still pretty early. He took his sunglasses off, then proceeding to sit down on a lobby chair. He saw two boys and one girl sitting down in the lobby, but didn’t bother to wave back, as he just wasn’t used to waving back at random strangers he saw like twenty seconds ago.

Allie woke up, and looked at the time. It was 7:58, and almost time for Professor Sycamore to arrive. Speak of it, he came 20 seconds later.

Professor Sycamore motioned everyone to follow him to a room, which looked like a meeting room. Allie returned Sylveon to her Poké Ball, and then followed Professor Sycamore to the room and sat down at a chair.

Issac gave his partner Pokémon a confident nod, before the pair made their way into Sycamore’s lab proper. He gave a quiet nod and smile to the girl that sat down, before taking a seat beside her. Decidueye stayed standing behind it’s trainer, his eyes trained intently on the Pokémon Professor. “Relax pal, no need to feel stressed.” He muttered the the owl, flashing him a thumbs up. All Decidueye did in return was nod, but did seem to look less tense.

At Sycamore's command, Ben returned everyone except Auro, and followed suit. Once there, he took a seat. Auro remained standing, his gaze sweeping around the room, searching for any potential threat however unnecessary it might be.
Ben sighed at his partner's antics, but he wouldn't stop unless he was sure it was safe, which he rarely believed.

“Alright, everyone, as you all know, this world is getting a little crazy at the moment. Everyone in every other region has been infected with the cure to the recent pandemic, which sounds crazy, but you all know what really happened.” Professor Sycamore said.

“My assistants and I have obtained a tracking device which shows nearby cases, and well, it has been showing some bad news for us. There is a case coming straight for us from the north, and that is, well, pretty bad, you see. If you are up to the task, we will send you all in a helicopter to the area they will land in.” the professor then said.

“My assistants and I have also researched how this new disease, we call it, affects human and Pokémon. They both get blank, red eyes and appear faster, stronger, and more intelligent than they were. The Pokémon, however, changed even more. You all probably all know that some Pokémon types will resist others, but the resistances are now ignored with this disease. Electric type moves will now successfully actually damage Ground and Grass types. Normal and Fighting type moves will now hit Ghost types. And so on. There is now a 75% critical chance for the Pokémon infected with this disease, and will be able to dodge most of the attacks. We are still researching a cure, but it will take some time.” he then said.

It took Allie a while to process all of this info, as she was bit confused. This new disease, which took over the whole world except Kalos, would be hard to deal with.

“Any questions before we begin this mission?” Professor Sycamore asked everyone.

Allie nodded no.
