When he heard his friends encourage him he looked back to them and smiled gently, taking a deep breath and then turning to face the gym leader with a much more confident smile. He took a Poke ball off his belt and then held it out in front of himself, speaking quietly to it and saying. "Alright, you ready?" The device wobbled in an excited manner and Harrison smirked in response, holding out the Pokeball and then releasing his Snorunt. As the ice type was released onto the floor it would spread its arms and let out a small growl, trying to be intimidating however failing due to his small size and constant shivering. The gym leader let out a laugh and then held one of her own Poke balls, ready to throw it out. "Good luck trainer, I won't be going so easy this time. Spritzee lets go!"
The two Pokémon looked at each other from across the pitch, awaiting an order from their trainers to begin the battle and since Harrison was the challenger he called out first. "Alright, lets start this off with powder snow!" With a nod the snorunt leapt forwards and began pummelling the ground, sending snow flying towards Spritzee. "Blow it back with fairy wind!" Much to Harrison's and his Pokémon's surprise the snow would be blown straight back at them, Snorunt getting hit and tumbling backwards towards Harrison. "You okay Snorunt?!" The ice type was on its back and despite being stunned it rose to its feet again in a matter of seconds, shivering furiously and bouncing in frustration. "Sweet kiss while its recovering!" The fairy bird opened its wings and began to fly towards the Snorunt which disappeared in a flash of red. "Snorunt return" "Substituting already?" "I won't be able to beat Spritzee with Snorunt" Powder snow was the only attacking move it had and since Spritzee so easily countered it he had to use his other Pokémon.
"Chimchar you ready" The monkey on his shoulder nodded in excitement and then leapt onto the battlefield, a confident grin on his face as he sized up the bird. "Alright, use ember at Spritzee" Which is exactly what Chimchar did, breathing fire towards the Spritzee which was hovering in the air in wait. Harrison's command caused the gym leader to scoff and fold her arms as she called out. "Clearly you don't learn, use fairy wind and blow it back" Her Pokémon did just that, the fire spreading out in front of Spritzee and beginning to go back until a Chimchar leapt through the flames, surprising both the fairy type and the fairy type gym leader. "Hit it with a scratch Chimchar" Despite being slightly hurt from jumping through his own move the fire types fingers lit up and glowed white as he swiped at the fairy type, sending it crashing into the ground. "Finish it with Ember" "Dodge Spritzee!" Chimchar was still in the air and so looked down to use ember on the Spritzee who couldn't react in time and was consumed by the flames.
Harrison's Pokémon landed on the ground in front of the smoke which was beginning too clear. When it did clear it revealed a fainted Spritzee meaning Harrison had won the first round. "Alright! One down one to go, good work Chimchar!" With a happy grin the fire monkey turned around to face Harrison and give a thumbs up before returning his attention back to the gym leader that was returning her Pokémon. "Spritzee return"

Alex clapped, he didn't want to make a commotion as big as Kate. He didn't want to embarrass Harrison at all, it seemed Kate was even more cheery about him beating one Pokemon than Alex was about beating the actual leader. Props to her for showing great encouragement. He smirked and put up a thumbs up to his friend.
Kori smiled and nodded at Harrison. She mouthed the words 'Good job. Keep it up.' to him. Frostbite's pokeball wiggled. Kori picked up the pokeball. She wasn't sure she wanted the Cubchoo out yet.
Harrison heard Kate's encouragement and turned in response, also seeing Alex's clapping and then flashing a grin in response. He totally had this, it wasn't actually so difficult to be fair as it appeared the fairy type Pokémon couldn't hold a candle to his ones. The leader had of course healed both of them before the battle and Harrison knew her next one to be Slurpuff which had a very interesting move set from what he remembered. "Slurpuff go and use lick as soon as your out" The leader quickly released her final Pokémon as soon as Harrison was once again paying attention, the trainer cringing at the move being called out before telling his Chimchar what to do. "Ember quickly!"
The two Pokémon were quick to use their moves, Slurpuff dashing forwards with its tongue lolling out its mouth whilst Chimchar leaned back and then breathed fire at its opponent. Slurpuff managed to endure the attack and get close enough to Chimchar to lick it paralysing the poor fire type in a rather strange move which caused Harrison to speak out in surprise "Aah?!" "Wake up slap!" The Fairy type was close to Harrison's Paralysed Pokémon and so easily slapped the Chimchar three times before sending him flying across the pitch and tumbling in front of Harrison who quickly grabbed a Poke ball on his waist and aimed it at the Chimchar "Chimchar return!" Which is exactly what happened, Harrison not wanting his starter to faint who had just taken quite a lot for such a frail Pokémon.
When he put the Poke ball back on his waist he'd lift the one containing his Snorunt and smile at it, taking a deep breath and the releasing the ice type again. "So snorunt returns" "Yeah and I believe him!" "Alright, Slurpuff lick!" Once again it took off in a charge towards it competition, its tongue flailing madly as it headed straight towards Snorunt. "Wait for it ... Double team now!" The Snorunt began to shiver more quickly until it was going so far it began to make copies of himself, doubling, tripling, quadrupling until the pitch was filled with 20 copies of Snorunts. The Slurpuff headed straight into the copy, stopping and then looking around in shock which was the expression the gym leader had as well. Harrison on the other hand had a confident smirk, throwing his hand and pointing towards the Slurpuff as he called out. "Powder snow!"

"Um. So am I going to be up next?" Kori asked. Frostbite's pokeball wiggled again. Hotspot's pokeball was still. Apparently the Fennekin was either more patient than the Cubchoo or he was alright with being in the pokeball. Kori stood up.
