The Groudon Blaze Cup

"Alright" Nolan hopped onto his back and loosely put hands on his neck.

"So are we-" Then he jerked back as they went into the air.

"Jeez, so this is what it's like to ride one of these things, where exactly are we heading to again?" Nolan looked at Tony with a dumb expression.

 

[Rex]

"Back to Mt. Chimney!" Tony called, "That's probably where the next rounds will be announced!"

Several moments later the two of then reached the mountain. It looked like most, if not all, other trainers had finished their battles. He landed on the mountain, said bye to the boy, and walked off a ways.

Once he was a good distance from the other trainers he called out Jake, Flynt, and Seth, to check them for wounds. Flynt and Seth hadn't been hit at all, since they had come into the battle at the end. He gave both Pokemon a PokeBlock, and recalled the Quilava. Blitz had a few cuts and bruises, but nothing that couldn't be easily taken care of by a Super Potion. The Flygon received a PokeBlock, and was returned. Finally, he looked at Jake. The Lucario was badly beaten, but he would live. An Ultra Potion took care of his wounds. He was given a PokeBlock, and was returned.

Seth climbed onto his shoulder, "One down, two to go!"
Tony nodded, and started back towards the others, "yup, but they will be a lot harder."
"We can take them," the Buizel grinned.
"Lets hope so," Tony sighed.

 

[Toru]

Looking ahead, Daiko saw the two Pokemon of Max, Honchcrow and Arcanine - Two powerful Pokemon, and they'd seemed to be raised well. Another grin on his face as usual, Daiko pointed ahead, commanding his two Pokemon to commence the match.

"Okay, Swellow, stay put, this is going to be a little painful...Ninjask, use Toxic on Swellow!"

To start off the battle, Daiko was to leave Max in confusion. Hurting a Trainer's own Pokemon was ludicrous, but not when you were Daiko, not at all. Swellow flinched a little as Ninjask breathed a poisonous fume onto Swellow, leaving it with a purple tint.

"Heh, perfect. Now Swellow, use Facade on Arcanine!"

Swellow glowed in many different shades of colour as it took to the air and flew straight at the Legendary Pokemon, ready to attack. Facade was boosted due to Swellow's Poison status.

Alex saw the battle end and jumped onto Gabe's back with Lucy right behind him.
"Where we off to now?"
"Mount Chimeney. That's where they'll anounce the next round so that's our best bet."
Gabe took off towards the volcano as Alex and lucy hung on tight. "So who am I supposed to be looking for again?"
"A guy in a red overcoat. Like a P.I. or something."
"Found him."
He was healing up his pokemon as Alex touched down behind him.
Alex walked up behind him and introduced himsel,"Hello sir, I'm Alex Blazer. I watched your battle and was really impressed by your pokemon. I was wondering if you might have a non- qualifying battle with me? Your flygon and lucario against mine."

 

[Rex]

He had barely finished curing his Pokemon when another challenger appeared. He wanted a non-qualifying battle, Blitz and Jake against his own Flygon and Lucario. The boy called him "sir," something Tony hated being called, since it made him feel older then seventeen, his current age.

"I'd have to ask them," Tony sighed.

He called out the Flygon and Lucario, and asked them if they wanted to have a quick battle. The two Pokemon nodded, they would love another battle.

"Your on," Tony nodded to the boy.

The trainer called out his pokemon to ask if they wanted a battle. When they agreed Alex nearly lept out of his skin. Alex told his pokemon to take position and said "You can have the first move."
As Lucy jumped on Gabe's back she said, "Alex, something doesn't feel right about his Aura. He scares me."

Nolan hopped off the trainer's flygon and waved goodbye. He kicked a rock and headed over to the Pokecenter.

"This sucks, I better pull myself together and try to win next time" Nolan walked over to the desk and handed the woman his pokemon.

10 minutes later the nurse called his name.

"Nolan holste, your Pokemon are ready" He walked back to the desk and took the two pokeballs.

"Thenk you ma'am" Nolan started to Mt.chimney again feeling a bit down, but he regained confidence. Then, he sent out Vybuch. She stretched and looked up at Nolan.

"You did pretty good out there Vybuch, but I had a feeling we weren't likely to win" She crossed her arms and frowned.

"Come on, don't be like that. We can do better this next round. Oi, I'm getting tired of walkin up this damn mountain..." Vybuch rolled he eyes and followed Nolan.

Max watched in confusion as Swellow was hit by his own teammate's attack. It was only once Swellow was diving towards Arcanine did he realize what was going to happen. "Arcanine, leap over Swellow and fire your flamethrower at that Ninjask! Honchcrow, use aerial ace and hit Swellow in the stomach!" commanded Max.

Arcanine, because of its immensely powerful haunches, glided straight over the bird. While in mid-air, he fired the powerful fire at the unsuspecting Ninjask. Honchcrow, on the other hand, quickly fired up its aerial ace and sped straight up at the Swellow's stomach.

 

[Nim]

Daiko and max went off for their battle leaving liam on his own. "Alright, I think its time to take a nap, the announcment for the next tounnd or another would probably wake me up so i wouldnt be in a position like daiko".

Liam then lay down on the cushioned bench inside the pokemon centre.

 

[Rex]

The Boy gave him first move. Tony's sandstorm tactic wouldn't work here, since all four Pokemon were immune to its effects. Might as well launch right into his attacks.

"Blitz, Dig, Jake, Dragon Pulse," Tony called

Blitz nodded, and within moments disappeared into the ground. Jake opened his mouth, and sent a shock wave after his opponent's Flygon.

OoC:I'm back in my flat now ^^ Hopefully Replies to posts will be much faster now.

Daiko glanced as the Arcanine used it's powerful leaps to avoid Swellow's Facade, before firing a Flamethrower at Ninjask. Daiko reacted quickly just before the Flamethrower made contact.

"Ninjask, the Occa Berry, Now!"

Ninjask pulled out the small red berry from under a bit of it's plated exoskeleton and braced itself for impact. The Flamethrower hit hard, but Ninjask looked like it had just been hit like a weak tackle - The Occa berry gave Ninjask resistance from the super effective hit.

"Perfect!"

Daiko looked up as the Big Boss Pokemon came in for a powerful Arial Ace at Swellow, however, that sort of attack couldn't phase Daiko's Bird type.

"Swellow, counter it with another Arial Ace, now!"

The glowing white wings clashed at each other, leaving Swellow crashing backwards with the recoil of the hit. Daiko pointed at Ninjask, preparing an attack.

"Okay! Ninjask, use Quick Attack on Arcanine, now! This Trainer's quite something, so make it powerful!"

Ninjask glowed white and dashed straight at the orange furred Pokemon with immense speed, straight at Arcanine's side.

"Lucy block Dragon pulse with Aura sphere, Gabe diving Earthquake."
Lucy quickly launched a glowing blue ball of Aura stopping the dragon pulse cold. Then gabe dropped from the sky and slammed his tail against the ground shattering it and causing a powerful earthquake.

 

[Rex]

"Jake, protect!" Tony called

The Lucario quickly formed the familiar green barrier around itself, stopping the Earthquake from hitting him. Using the weakened earth to his advantage, Blitz flew out of another hole in the ground, attempting to tackle his opponent's Lucario into the air.

Honchcrow was knocked back as Daiko's Swellow crashed into it with an opposing arial ace. Max grunted in aggravation. Gotta hit it hardhe thought. He then saw the Ninjask speeding towards Arcanine. "Arcanine, Extremespeed Ninjask!"
The orange dog turned a pale white and speed straight at the oncoming Ninjask. The result was a blinding explosion, which shoved Arcanine back, suprised, but almost unscathed. "Hehe, Honchcrow, Dark Pulse on Swellow before it gets up." The dark bird fired the black beam right at the recovering opponent.

"Lucy endure then Close combat , Gabe use Arial ace into Dragon claw!"
Lucy braced herself to take the hit as the opponent's Flygon came hurtling at her from underground. As it slammed into her she grabbed onto it's wing and flipped onto it's back slamming it with kicks and punches. Then gabe zoomed over and slammed into the Flygon and slashed it with glowing orange claws as Lucy jumped on his back.

 

[Rex]

Blitz was being smacked hard by the Lucario's Close Combat, his opponent's Flygon attacked as well.

"Blitz, Protect," Tony called.

A green barrier formed around the Flygon, stopping both attacks. The Lucario was wide open because of the Close Combat, perfect opportunity for an attack.

"Jake, Finish plus Bomb," Tony called.

The red Lucario rushed the opponent's Lucario, attacking it with Aerial Ace and Hi Jump Kick, before sending an Aura Sphere at the two Pokemon.

Lucy took the Arial ace, Hi-jump kick combo head on and went down hard. Alex took out her pokeball and called her back then laughed," Nice move, but you don't want to play a game of finishing moves with me. Gabe, blaze on with Maximum Dragonia!!"
Gabe flew straight up And roared at the sky as Draco meteor called down Meteors onto the field and he covered the field with Flamethrower.

 

[Rex]

The opposing Lucario went down to Jake's combo, leaving the Flygon to take on both his Pokemon. It launched a combo of it's own, Draco Meteor and Flamethrower.

"Jake, Endure, Blitz, Dig!" Tony called to his Pokemon.

A protect wouldn't last long against the falling meteors, so Jake would just have to hold on. Blitz escaped back underground, saving himself from the attack. Once the attack was over, the Lucario collapsed to his knees. Another attack like that would finish him.

"Combination two," Tony called.

Blitz appeared out of the ground, taking Jake into the air. The Flygon rushed his opponent with Aerial Ace, while Jake attacked from Blitz's back with Bone Rush.

 

[Toru]

Ninjask and Swellow had both been knocked back due to the clash of Power, and now Honchrow was firing a Dark pulse straight at Swellow.

"Crap! No way I can endure this!"

Daiko's fists clenched upon seeing his Bird type being blasted onto the ground, shivering at the stinging pain of the darkness, whilst being inflicted by Toxic. Daiko fumbled around in the berry pocket of his bag, running up to Swellow and feeding it a pecha berry, and helping it up before leaping back to his area. Daiko looked at his two Pokemon and balsted out some more commands.

"Okay, time for something strategic! Swellow, start whipping up a powerful gust into the central arena! Ninjask, charge up a Solarbeam!"

The gust would leave the Honchcrow and Arcanine dazed whilst Ninjask was covered for a Solarbeam.

"Nice, let's see how Max copes with this!"

 

[MysticalMonkeyMan]

Max didn't realize the strategic gust until it was too late. Honchcrow was the first to be pulled in. "Arcanine, use flame wheel to protect yourself from Solarbeam!"
The giant furball engulfed itself in flames. There is no way he can bust through flame wheel, but Honchcrow...
"Honchcrow, use gust to distract Ninjask!" The bird obeyed and barely fired the gust before it was whipped away by the opposing attack.

 

[flygon master]

"Gabe, Iron tail and Dragonclaw!" As the opponent's Flygon came hurtling at Gabe with the red Lucario on it's back winding up a bonerush, Gabe brought down glowing orange claws on the Flygon's head and slammed the Lucario off the Flygon's back stopping the combo attack in it's tracks.

 

[Rex]

The Flygon attacked, trying to knock Jake off of Blitz.

"Flash Step, Jake, Blitz, Endure!" Tony called.

Seconds before he was sent flying Jake disappeared, leaving only a Double Team afterimage in his place. Blitz was smacked on the head by another Dragon Claw, sending him tumbling down several feet.

"Focus Punch, Jake, followed by Close Combat! Blitz, show him your own Dragon Claw!" Tony grinned.

The Lucario appeared above the opposing Flygon, right paw pulled back in anticipation for the attack. He landed on the opposing Flygon's back, and sent his fist at the Pokemon's head. He then continued to lash out at the opposing Flygon with more punches and kicks. Blitz, meanwhile slashed at the Pokemon's belly with his glowing claws.

The oncoming attacks were more than Gabe could withstand and he went down. "Aww man! That's twice in one day!" Alex called out Lucy and pulled two spiky gold colored balls from his backpack and fed them to his pokemon completely restoring their energy with the max revives.
"Thanks for the great battle."
Alex reached out his hand in congratulations as Lucy and gabe did the same.
"So, how long have you been a member of team magma?"

 

[Rex]

OoC: Tony is under cover, no one knows he is in Team Magma.

BiC: The opposing Flygon went down. It couldn't have chosen a better time, Jake and Blitz were both worn out from the quick fight, their injuries from the last battle didn't make things any better for the two Pokemon. He healed their wounds with a pair of Full Restores, before turning to the boy. He and his Pokemon offered their hands, wanting a handshake. Blitz happily accepted the other Flygon's hand, and shook it. Tony quickly shook hands with the boy, while Jake ignored the Lucario's paw all together.

"How long have I been in Team Magma?" Tony frowned, "where did that come from? I'm not in Team Magma."

Lucky guess, or did the boy know something? His amulet was safely hidden under his shirt, and neither he or Jake were in their uniforms.

 

[flygon master]

"I can read Aura, it's how I communicate directly to my pokemon.Your trying to hide it is leaking it through your Aura. Plus, you dress like the bad guy in an old detective movie." Alex said calmly.
Gabe jumped,"Team Magma! Why are you so calm about this?!"
Alex shrugged,"I dunno. He's not bothering me."

 

[Rex]

Jake gave the boy a murderous look, Tony knew that he'd just have to give the word and the Boy would be given a one way trip down into Mt. Chimney's magma filled crater. Tony sighed, and returned the Lucario and Flygon to their Poke Balls. The boy claimed to be able to read aura, Tony seriously doubted that, but, might as well have some fun with the boy.

"I've been told that I dress like a private eye, or that I should spend more time outside of the casino, but I have never been called a criminal because of a bowler hat and trench coat!" Tony said, loud enough for anyone nearby to hear, "Why don't you take your fantasies and run along?"

He let Seth onto his shoulder, and started away from the boy. While he was moving away, he muttered to the boy, loud enough that only he could here him.

"This stays between us," he said, "if you told them, who would they believe? Someone claiming to be 'aura-sensitive,' or a normal person?"

He laughed, and left the boy. Seth frowned, starting back at him for a moment.

"You sure that was the right thing to do?" the Buizel asked, "you kind of just blew your cover"
"Don't worry Seth, I know what I'm doing," Tony grinned.
"I hope so, I have no intentions of going to jail," Seth sighed.
"You won't, you and the rest of my team would be put up for adoption, while I went to rot in jail," the boy answered.

 

[Toru]

The two bird types kept on countering with the same attacks - a clash of skill every time commands were ordered. Ninjask was blown away by Honcrow's Gust, and dissipated into a red lazer, returning to his Pokeball. Daiko loked down at his Net ball on his leg belt and looked up in annoyance as he picked up another Pokeball - a Safari ball at that, and hurled it ahead.

"This should be a good handicap for our opponent! Floatzel, come on out!"

The orange and yellow Pokemon burst out of the ball, a cocky, competitive grin on it's face.

"Good to have you with us! Now, use Aqua Jet on Arcanine, fast!"

"Float-uruu!"

Floatzel covered itself with a powerful stream of water and blasted forward, water trailing behind him as he streamed straight for Arcanine


"Good, now Swellow, as soon as the hit connects, use Double Edge!"

Swellow started to glow white as Floatzel carried on approaching towards the Arcanine.

Max watched as Ninjask was recalled and a cocky Floatzel was released. Both Pokemon began racing towards Arcanine. There is no way he is going to get out of that without a scratch, unless... "Honchcrow, I know this is going to hurt, but block Arcanine from both attacks with your body!"
The black bird, already extremely weak, threw itself in harms way and took the full attacks. It instantly collapsed and Max called him back with a "good job" and threw out a Premier Ball. A Smeargle instantly materialized. Max uttered a grin and began his attacks.
"Arcanine, flamethrower at Swellow, and Smeargle, follow up with an ice beam!" The two Pokemon quickly followed their orders and fired.

 

[Black Wolf]

(( Could someone please give me an opponent? I would seem the person I was gonna battle disapeard. ))

 

[Toru]

"An opportunity." Daiko murmured, a smirk appearing on his face. Floatzel had jumped back to the right area of his respective side of the battle, with Swellow hovering almost overhead. The Smeargle aimed straight at the orange Sea Weasel with a moderately powerful Ice Beam as Arcanine fired with a Flamethrower at the same time. Daiko scoffed at the Ice Beam- no joke it would be moderately weak - Smeargle has an attack strength lower than a Weedle's.

"Water pulse Floatzel, now! Swellow, get ready to use Whirlwind on my command!"

Floatzel charged up an orb of water in it's hands quickly, before holding it straight in front of the ice beam, turning the orb of water into a super - cold orb of ice, hovering in the Pokemon's palms.

"Floatzel, keep a hold on that ball of ice! Now... Swellow, Whirlwind, now! Before Arcanine's Flamethrower connects!"

Swellow whipped up a powerful spiral of wind, which picked up the Flame thrower and with the boost of Oxygen, turned the whirlwind into a giant pillar of spinning flames.

"Now Swellow, Arial Ace through the flames! Trust me, It'll work!"

Swellow dived down from above through the flames, not even being burned by the inferno due to the Oxygen surrounding it from the dive into Arial Ace, increasing the now extremely large flame tornado even more before the bird type started to turn around back into the flames. Daiko's quick reactions served him even more - he wasn't done yet.

"Perfection! Floatzel, Hydro Pump on the flames, now!"

Still holding the freezing ball, Floatzel's mouth filled with a glowing water, which charged into a ball and fired straight into the blaze, dousing it out and letting off lots of Steam. Due to the amount of steam, it created a short but powerful thermal, which Swellow suddenly returned into, spinning high up into it, and bursting out of it; the bird type could see all of the arenas of The Blaze Cup from it's height. It reacted as it heard Daiko yell with all of his might from the Forest area.

"DOUBLE EDGE, NOW!!"

What could be described as a grin, just like his Trainer's appeared on Swellow's beak. Covering itself in a white power, it dived down, gaining immense amounts of speed - at least 140 mph, as it slammed staight into the Arcanine above, causing a large wall of dust and from the shock wave to be thrown up, blinding all. Daiko bellowed with laughter at his technique, as he gave his final command in his string of attacks.

"FLOATZEL! THE ICE BALL, NOW!"

As soon as the dirt subsided leaving only a faint dust, Floatzel dashed straight at the Smeargle and spun itself with a 360 degree turn straight in front of the Smeargle to pick up momentum, and slammed the ball of ice straight into it's head, before back flipping into the middle of the stage, turning itself slightly, it's eyes locked with Daiko, as it held up a thumbs up.

"Floatzel~"

 

[Blazi]

(OOC: Not exactly Black Wolf I just haven't been on for a long time.)

BIC: After healing his pokemon and talking to Cerebus, Luke walked to the training grounds at the back of the centre. "Lets Battle! Don't forget this is a one-on-one, non-qualifying battle between our Ninetales. Got it? Good. Lillith, Show him what you're made of!" Luke shouted, while Lillith ran onto the field.

 

[Black Wolf]

"Okay lets see what you have got, okay Ninetales, confuse ray, followed up by nasty plot and then use dark pulse."
The Ninetales pured while her two eyes glowed up blueish, she then closed her eyes, filling her mind with dark thoughts and then launched a beam of dark energy."

 

[flygon master]

Lucy looked at Alex concerned,"Was that reallly wise, rattling his cage like that?"
Alex shrugged his shoulders," I don't know, I'm a sore loser I guess... but we probably shouldn't tell any of the others. Agreed?"
Both pokemon looked at each other,"Agreed."

They flew towards the pokemon center to watch the remainder of the battles before the next round only to find another battle behind the center. Two trainers were battling Ninetales to Ninetales. Alex quietly thought to himself "Maybe I can get a battle out of one of them."

((OOC:The next round will begin as soon as the Max/Daiko battle is over. I will post the brackets then.))

bic:Max watched in disbelief as his entire plan back fired on him. Then he remembered his secret tactic."Arcanine, use Sunny Day. Smeargle, Synthesis!" Because of the painting pokemon's ability to copy any move with sketch, Max had made sure to pick the moves no one would suspect.
The orange dog unleashed a howl as the sun grew unbearably bright. Max shielded his eyes as the Smeargle was engulfed in green. He had just healed himself as if nothing had happened. "Whattsa matter Daiko? Suprised?" taunted Max.

OOC: sorry guys but at the moment I dont have much time to continue playing. Im sorry for inconveniences but im sure you guys can think of something like even getting Blisk back in instead of me. Thanks for the enjoying game though

Liam awoke to the the sound of his cell phone ringing. He answered and it was his Mother. It was official. He had to head back to goldenrod immediately. He couldbt stay in Hoen any longer because his granpa was suddenly very ill. Liam went over to the information desk and resigned immediatley. " I hope I see some of these guys again in future tournaments" Liam thought as he rode his stantler down towards the train station.

 

[Toru]

"Not...Quite." The Synthesis from Smeargle left it almost unscathed, and was suprised Arcanine could take a full power Double Edge. Unfortunately the attack left Swellow K.O'ed on the floor. Daiko aimed his Pokeball at the blue and red pokemon grinning. He pulled out another ball and chucked it out to the battlefield.

"Blastoise, Let's go! We're almost done, there are two more Pokemon to go!"

The blue and brown Pokemon roared into battle, as Daiko gave out more commands to the two Pokemon.

"'Kay, Blastoise, use Rain Dance! Neutralise the Sunny Day! Floatzel, after Sunny Day's been taken over, use Water Gun and K.O Arcanine!"

Blastoise aimed its cannons upwards and sent two large drops of water into the sky, which then condensed and let off a powerful rainstorm.

"Now, Go Floatzel!"

Floatzel dashed staight forward, facing Arcanine and sending a blast of Clear blue water straight at the fire type.

ooc: sorry about the late post, i didn't have internet connection for a few days

bic: Max watched as the Blastoise immobilized the sunny day and Floatzel's attack hit Arcanine dead-on. The legendary dog let out a majestic howl and collapsed to the floor. Max recalled it and turned to Bulbasaur. "You ready?"
Bulbasaur leaped to the field to join Smeargle. To both Max and his opponent's suprise, Bulbasaur was instantly engulfed by a white light. Within a few seconds, a fully evolved Ivysaur stood in the same spot. Max was in disbelief, but quickly focused on an attack. "Ivysaur, leech seed the Blastoise! Smeargle, use Thunderpunch on Floatzel!"
Ivysaur swiftly sent a bulging seed at the turtle as Smeargle spontaneously turned a single fist into a blazing inferno of electricity and hurled itself at the water weasel.

 

[Toru]

"Oh, now that's rare. A Pokemon evolving in battle? Let's see how he handles us now... Blastoise, Rapid Spin! Floatzel...- Oh, crap!"

After Daiko's commands were given out, Blastoise immediately negated Ivysaur's Leech Seed with Rapid Spin, but just as he went to command Floatzel, it was too late. Smeargle's Thunder Punch connected and sent a shock of electricity straight through the orange furred Pokemon, as it collapsed on the floor due to the type disadvantage.

"Impressive," Daiko continued, returning the Pokemon and slotting the ball onto his leg belt. "But I have three unstoppable Pokemon, and you have... just two. I'd like to see you try and win now, Max! Show me everything you got! Gardevoir, let's Party!"

Daiko reached for another Pokeball and gave it a topspin as he hurled it onto the battlefield, the Psychic Type bursting out of the ball, looking at Blastoise and nodding, as it held an offensive position.

"Gardevoir, stay put... for now. Blastoise, False Hydro Pump, now!"

Blastoise's roar pierced the ash filled air, his duel cannons charging up gallons of water and firing individual steams of water that joined together just after launching and flying straight past the confused Smeargle and Ivysaur.

"Suprised? Not for long! Gardevoir, Psychic!"

Gardevoir's eyes glowed a florescent pink as it's arms took control of the passing Hydro Pump, curving it around and firing straight at the back of Smeargle, dead on target.

"All right! Go for the direct hit!!"

 

[Blazi]

OoC: Sorry for the late post, It's Kinda hard doing this and other things so I'm resigning.

BiC: Just as he was about to order Lillith to use Hypnosis then Dream Eater, Luke's Cellphone began to ring. It was Sarah, his best friend. Something bad had happened to her Noctowl, Nocturne and she needed Luke with her for the operation. "Right, I'll be over as soon as I can," Luke said into the Cellphone, before turning to Cerebus, "Hey Cerebus, I need to leave! Maybe I'll battle you some other time, okay? Bye!"
