...Huh. Hazard watched Jo breeze away with his head tilted slightly. Silly girl was probably gonna get herself in trouble, marching off into the unknown like that. If she was smart, she'd have stayed with Dan; he was good at this sneaking stuff. Hazard attributed that to him fleeing from bullies in elementary school, but saying so tended to bring forth threats of downloading random programs off of Limewire onto Hazard, so he tended to keep such thoughts to himself. Not that he ever thought Daniel would really do it, not to him. Anyway, he was just as likely to have his eyes be forever scarred by popup ads for "XXX hot teen anime Miltank girls."
...Ugh.
Anyway! Moving on and never thinking about that again. Daniel seemed to be surprisingly choked by his new friend up and ditching him. Oh... no, wait, that was him having lost a contact lens. He offered no goodbye as Jo skipped off; he had a feeling they'd be running into each other again. Regrettably. Daniel opted to linger in the doorway a little longer, first swapping his remaining contact lens for his glasses, then simply observing what little he could see. He wouldn't stand out too much in terms of attire; most of the citizens were dressed like ordinary, modern individuals. He did notice, however, that those who had Pokemon with them tended to only have those native to desert regions. That contradicted all the strange Pokemon attacks in the desert, but seemed otherwise logical. A pity Daniel didn't have a ground-type; the closest thing he had in his team would be Varanus, but strolling around with a massive pterodactyl behind him would be a tad too conspicuous for his tastes. At any rate, Panzer wasn't an option. He returned the Houndoom to her pokeball, much to her relief -- she didn't mix well with strangers.
And as for Hazard... he was going to stick out like a sore thumb, but he was necessary for Daniel's research. He needed the Porygon-Z recording as much as he could, but he also needed to maintain a low profile until he learned just how xenophobic this society was. Their fashion sense seemed a good sign, but better safe than sorry. Daniel's eyes lingered thoughtfully on Hazard for a moment, before sliding down to the messenger bag he wore. Hazard was just shy of three feet, from antenna tip of the end of his tail, but his head wasn't attached... hm, it would be a bit of a squeeze, but it could work.
Moments later, Daniel made his entrance into the Mirage Kingdom... with a very full-looking bag. Hazard was less than happy about having been crammed into it, and was quite busy notifying Daniel of this via his Poketch.

"Then I would leave you in your pokeball forever, and you would be bored out of your ADHD-riddled skull. Now stop squirming. It looks weird, and if you scratch my laptop I'll punt you halfway to Sinnoh."

"I'll let you out once we find ourselves some sort of ally. Or any sort of information on this place. For now, though, safety comes before comfort."

no srsly dan STFU theres a gard comin
Oh, well... Daniel went quiet, tugging down the sleeve of his jacket to obscure his Poketch. He kept his head down, feigning a sudden interest in a nearby vendor's stand. If there's one thing a lifetime of being socially awkward does for you, it's making you good at avoiding attention. The guard continued his patrol, taking no heed of the blond with the bowed head and overstuffed bag. Said bag moved slightly as Hazard lifted his head, antenna making a small tent of the bag's flap as he peeked out. Okay... guard was gone, coast was clear. Good hiding places? Hm... maybe a nice hotel or whatever they had here? Barrels? Oh, dark sketchy alley! Wait, wait... infrared was picking up somebody. Wait, two somebodies... hm... might bear some more careful scanning, one of them seemed...
Daniel risked a glance around, then moved away from the vendor stand. A quiet beep had him checking his Poketch again, expecting another annoyed remark from Hazard. Instead, he was greeted with an order.
stop dan im scanning
see that alley theres some1 there
i think they have an electric type pokemon im gettin wierd readins
**weird
either that or a rly static-y cacturne
Daniel came to a halt, but rather than looking, opted to lean against a nearby building. He'd rather look like he were waiting for a friend than go staring at something in a very much suspicious manner. Pity he wasn't watching Hazard; the Porygon-Z stood out terribly. If the bag-tent his antenna made wasn't bad enough, a bright blue beak was now poking right out in plain sight. This thing had caught his attention. He couldn't judge if the trainer was a native or not, but he could now see that the guy had an Electabuzz with him. If it turned out that people were fine with not-desert Pokemon, then he could come out. If not, then it meant somebody other than Jo and Daniel had found this place. Hazard decided to err on the side of caution; rather than attempting to appeal to Gad himself through his Pokedex or whatever, he figured he'd try to catch Mari's attention.
Which was, admittedly, a lot more work for something that was probably harder to notice. First, a Conversion to electric-type. Then shutting off Daniel's laptop. Better to be safe than sorry, he loved that thing. Finally, he emitted a weak electric pulse. There didn't seem to be much by way of blinking lights in the area, so opted for steady bursts. Like Morse code, except Hazard didn't know it and he was just doing the same thing over and over, so translated into Morse he'd probably be saying "jjjj" or something. With any luck, the electric type would notice; they were supposed to be more sensitive to stuff like that. If not, he'd amp up the voltage, and Daniel going "Ow, dammit Hazard" would be sure to grab somebody's attention, right?
