Ajax walked alongside his trainer down a path. It had been a long time since they'd started their journey, and Ajax respected his trainer. The two of them had been through a lot together, both of them were left for dead and had found each other. Since then, his trainer had never let him down. He was always shown kindness, but a firm hand. Ajax himself didn't think he would ever have become as strong as he was now had his trainer not helped him. He looked at the five other Pokeballs on his companion's belt. Each, and every one of his Pokemon were like family to him.
His name, Ajax, was given to him by his trainer. It was something that filled the Mightyena with pride. It was a symbol of his bond with his trainer. Of the Pokemon that his trainer had captured, Ajax had been the first. He had helped in capturing some, and protecting them. They had won battles, and persevered together. They had grown together, laughed together, cried together, succeeded together, and lost together. They were a team, and they were the best of friends, but most of all they were a family.
Ajax had grown up fighting for his life. The world had been harsh on him, and had never given him a day of rest. Some days he would go hungry, and others he would be in a fight to the death with another wild Pokemon. While he still fought against wild Pokemon now, he no longer needed to worry about dying. His trainer had always protected him when he was too weak to fight, or unconscious. At the same time, he had been taught restraint, so that wild Pokemon would only be knocked out. Just as his trainer had put his trust in him, Ajax put his trust in his trainer. It was exhilarating to fight against new, and strong Pokemon. To fight for the fun of it, and not the necessity of it. He chose to fight because he respected his trainer's power, and intuition. If he didn't, he could've simply loafed around, and disobeyed.
However, this happy time would soon be brought too an end as the two were suddenly ambushed by a group of Pokemon. They did not seem wild as they were far too powerful. His trainer quickly managed to assess what they really were; trainer Pokemon.
Ajax quickly jumped in front of his trainer defensively. He heard an Electivire screaming about some sort of revolution. Trying to liberate Pokemon from their trainers. Ajax's trainer could hear none of it, but knew there had to have been some reason for their attacking. Before Ajax could even say a word of protest the Pokemon had already directed their attacks to his trainer.
Ajax's body moved on its own, quickly attempting to take the blow for his friend. As he closed his eyes to brace for the impact of the multiple attacks, he felt himself pushed out of the way. His eyes shot open only to see that his trainer had purposely thrown him to the side, and taken the attacks. Why? Why had his trainer protected him? Didn't he understand that he was the only one who could lead them?
Ajax saw his trainer fall to his knees, a defiant smile across his face. "Sorry Ajax, those attacks were for me not you..." His trainer breathed out weakly.
As Ajax sprinted to his trainers side, he growled at his attackers. Humans were powerful, but their bodies were weak. Didn't these assholes know that?! No, they did, and that's exactly why they had attacked him. They told Ajax he was brainwashed, and that his trainer, his friend, was enslaving him. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a Gengar flying away with a bag in tow. Ajax quickly looked to his trainer's belt to see that it was vacant. The Gengar had probably used his trainer's shadow to hide, and get close as the Pokemon attacked him. The Electavire then began to spout more rhetoric about the Pokemon's revolution. It pointed a finger at Ajax, yelling to its fellow revolutionaries that Ajax was an example of humans brainwashing Pokemon. Telling him that deep down he wanted to be liberated too.
Ajax grit his teeth, and began to tense up in anger. How dare they try to tell him what he felt! How dare they take his family and friends from him! He was going to kill them! The Mightyena's vision had begun to turn red as his entire body yearned to rip, and tear these Pokemon to pieces. However, before the Mightyena could launch himself at these self righteous attackers he felt his trainer's hand place itself on his head. "Don't be mad at them Ajax. You fight better when you're calm remember?"
Ajax nodded, having been taken out of his blind rage now. His trainer leaning on him for support. At the very least Ajax knew his trainer would not die here today. He looked at the group of Pokemon as they continued to spout their rhetoric. The Pokemon he faced screamed so much about something they knew so little about. Speaking as though they could speak for all Pokemon. Ajax could see now that they were simply pathetic, and not worth his anger.
"We will get them back, and that's a promise, but we need to win here before we can do any of that. It looks as though they have a grudge against trainers... That might explain why they're so powerful, and yet no one's commanding them."
His trainer said. Ajax nodded, seeing his trainer had once again correctly assessed the situation.
He felt his trainer stand up, "Well Ajax, I think it's time we show them how powerful a trainer, and their Pokemon can be."
Ajax nodded, turning to the Pokemon that had attacked them. "To you who dares to hurt my family I will only say this; There is not a single force in the universe that will stop me from taking you all down."
