Do NOT ask if you can join an RP on the RP thread itself! This leads to a lot of unnecessary OOC chatter and that's not what the RP boards are for.

The Running Dream (An open Horse RP)

Jumper slowed down a bit, so Lily could keep up, wanting to be kind. He suddenly stumbled, landing harshly on his hind left leg. He let out a whinny of pain.

"Jumper!" Lily cried out in horror as she watched the horse fall. "Sassy! River! Chloe! JR! Come quick! Please, Jumper fell!" she neighed loudly to the group.

Lily knew from experience that a horse falling is serious business. If their legs are hurt or broken, and if they cant get up, the blood flow will stop in their legs. That means they cant get up ever again. They are left with only the grass around them to feed off of and once thats gone the danger of wolves are a threat to a disabled horse. Lily never slept on the ground in fear that she will lose blood flow.

The small herd of horses made their way over to the injured horse, planning on how to help and asses the injury.

Oak ran over, Blackberry at his heels, their eyes wide with concern. Jumper's leg was caught under a root, bent a bit. He let out another whinny of pain, looking up at the others with desperate eyes. Oak sniffed the leg, not knowing what to do.

Sassy gave a snort and marched up to Lily. "Mare! Look what you have done now! Foolish young foals!" She whinnied as she walked towards Jumper. Sassy looked to Oak to say "Well colt! I need you to help me remove the root! This poor hoof isnt going to free itself!"

Lily moved around the circle of worried horses. She was worried for the Mustang as well, but she couldnt get close to Sassy right now. Lily let out a small whicker of concern before looking towards the sky, almost like it would tell her what to do.

Oak nodded, gently taking Jumper's leg in his mouth and pulling. Jumper gave a slight quivering neigh sound of pain. Blackberry paced, whinnying. She glanced at Lily, eyes full of worry.

Sassy was snorting orders and horses around her quickly dispersed. River went to the stream to get water, Chloe went off into the forest to fetch healing herbs Jumper could eat, and JR started to gnaw on the root that Jumper was stuck under without much luck. Lily looked at Blackberry with a sad look in her eyes. Sooner than later did Lily trot off into the soft-sand area nearby to gather sand that may aid them in sliding Jumper's hoof out.

Jumper neighed fearfully, digging his front hooves into the dirt. He felt as though the weight of a thousand horses had crushes his leg, but he was trying his best to bear it. Blackberry laid down by Jumper's side, nuzzling him gently in attempt to calm him. Oak looked at Blackberry in search of emotion in her eyes, but the worried look had vanished.

Oblivion and Frost rushed over. "What's going on?" Oblivion whinnied in fear. She saw Jumper and pinned her ears back. "How did this happen..?" she asked nervously. Without waiting for an answer, Oblivion rushed over and pulled at the root, Frost trying to help her.

Jumper felt a rush of happiness, amazed that everyone still wanted to help him after how grumpy he was. Oak helped tug at the root, making sure to avoid touching or hurting Jumper's leg. Blackberry trotted over. "Jumper was racing Lily, and his leg got caught in this root," she informed them.

Oblivion's ears twitched and she tugged at the root as hard as she could, Frost attempting to do the same. Oblivion thought she felt the root budge as well as Frost.

Oak gave a final tug, and the root came loose. Jumper moved his foot away from where the root was, letting out a neigh of pain. Blackberry's ears perked. "You did it! He's free!" She whinnied.

Oblivion attempted to help Jumper stand and she did so gently. "Maybe we should attempt to join you. We used to be wanderers, but I suppose we should stay with you all." She whinnied. For once, Frost didn't look nervous.

Jumper stood up with Oblivion's help, careful not to set his wounded leg down. Oak stayed by his side, pressed up against his flank, so he wouldn't fall. Blackberry paced, worried. She kept letting out quiet whinnies of fear.

Blackberry smiled a bit. "Thanks," she murmured. Jumper got a look at his leg, whinnying in alarm. Oak tried to calm him, but Jumper was hysterical. [I just got cow tipped XD]
