It was early in the morning and dawn had just unfolded a gentle blanket of light in Galar's Wild Area. The day was just beginning and diurnal wild Pokemon were starting to wake up. However, to the southeast lies a section of the area known as Giant's Seat, and there, a bit of commotion was echoing through the silence of the day. It would become even more clear within an audible radius that spread to the reaches of the North and South Lake Miloch. Upon closer inspection, it sounded like unified shouting, containing a mixture of human and Pokemon voices.

On the eastern shore of the long southern lake, accompanied by nothing but a small tree to the right and the view of the higher cliff ahead, a humble quintet had gathered alongside the water, standing side-by-side with several feet separating each other. In the center of the group was Toby Hato, a young boy living in the wild area with his four beloved Pokemon, a Hitmontop, Raichu, Gengar, and his best friend, a Dragonite wearing a purple scarf named Lavender. All five of them were happily working out together, in the middle of a routine series of Karate moves Toby had learned from his grandfather. Deep into their kata they went, synchronizing movements through every punch and kick they threw at the air. Even the Gengar and Dragonite were keeping up flawlessly, despite being Pokemon not normally associated with martial artists. The whole group seemed to be at peace as they went on, calm and content expressions on their faces. The lake was their witness as they were nearing the end of their workout.

"Hyah!!" The brown human had spun to face the water, swinging his bare right foot into a swift roundhouse kick.

The kiais of his Pokemon followed as they mirrored the exact same movement. One would be surprised that the Hitmontop wasn't the only one to show such precision with such a kick. It was as if they all have done this multiple times and muscle memory had nested in their bodies. Finally, Toby and his Pokemon set their feet onto the soft grass, crossed their arms over their chest for one brief moment before resting their fists, paws, and claws at their sides. A simultaneous sigh of relief was released. Their workout was over and it was finally time to rest. Toby moved an arm to brush a slight bit of sweat off of his forehead and bangs before giving a light smile towards his Pokemon.

"Okay, let's rest now," The boy suggests. "Lavy and I will go to Bridge Field to get some special berries for breakfast. Topster, keep an eye on everyone while we're gone."

The Hitmontop chimed in with a chipper response. To anyone else, it will just be the common instance of a Pokemon saying its own name. However, what Toby heard was...

"(Will do!)"

Toby nodded, upstanding completely. No, Topster didn't possess human speech as if it was a Mythical Pokemon with telepathy. The young boy had spent most of his life around wild Pokemon, under his grandfather's watchful eye, that actually developed a bond with them and gained the rare ability to understand Pokemon speech. He could talk to Pokemon as if he was one of them. Such as bond has translated to his own four, treasured Pokemon friends, leading to a closer level of understanding among each other.

"(Bring back plenty of yummy Sitrus berries!)" Spark, the Raichu, spoke up with great enthusiasm.

Toby had knelt down to pet the mouse Pokemon right on the head, answering. "Of course. I'll keep an out."

Toby stood up and walked over to the tree, slightly north of his current position. Underneath the canopy was a pair of black sandals, which he promptly slipped over the soles of his feet. As the morning sun bestowed more light onto the scene, a gentle breeze flowed through the tree leaves. The rustling seemed to put the young soul at ease while the cooling wind brushed over his arms that poked out of the upper orifices of his white tank top and made the ends of his black sweatpants flutter. It was as if nature, itself, was blessing his foraging outing. He reached down to pick up a black foraging sack he placed near the trunk of the tree before finally walking over to his Dragonite, giving her a pat on the left arm.

"Let's go, Lavy."

Lavender followed behind Toby without hesitation as the two of them traveled north, leaving his other three Pokemon to look after the dojo. He didn't exactly keep his Pokemon in Pokeballs like trainers normally do so he merely had his partner walk alongside him, preparing to leave the Giant's Seat behind. Though Lavy could've easily flown the two over, they often would take the scenic route, unless they were in a hurry. Besides, Toby had already befriended most of the wild Pokemon that would normally chase after unsuspecting trainers so the two of them could travel with peace of mind. As long as they didn't run into any trainers...

Ahh, the lovely air of Galar's Wild Area caressed a young man's face and blonde hair as he walked through the Wild Area. Having come from Unova, he looked like he was dressed for an interview with his business casual suit that was primarily grey and black with some accented red and gold instead of going on a rugged adventure. He was traveling around the Wild Area before he had to visit the northern side of the Wild Area. He did have a Dynamax Band around his wrist, but the ring to hold his badges was completely void of any Badges. Instead, it looked like a lens-less monocle in his breast pocket of his dress shirt. With his shiny Haunter by his side, he walked near the outskirts of Giant's Seat, only to see someone flying around on a Dragonite. The young man was in shock by how beautiful the yellow dragon was and he waved at the two of them. "Hey, you got a lovely Dragonite!" Even the Haunter was waving the two of them down, sticking out his tongue in a goofy fashion.

However, among the excitement, a flash of light erupted from the young man's belt and a Shedinja now floated in the way of the Dragonite. It seemed like the Shedinja released himself a little too far from his trainer on accident, his body having shuddered in the air as he realized how far away he was due to excitement. Having caught this, the young man yelled at his Pokemon, worry and concern in his voice regardless of whether the dried, apparently vacant husk could actually feel pain. "Bob, no!"

As soon as Toby heard the other person's voice, his eyes widened and he froze in place. After this morning's workout, he was so relaxed that he completely forgot about the one thing he wanted to stay clear of: trainers! Now he was completely spotted. The panic that filled his mind drowned out the kind words, leaving him in a tight bubble that was his paranoia.

"Uh oh..." The boy muttered, immediately stepping back and wanting to get away from whoever this person was.

Lavy didn't quite share Toby's visible fear but immediately realized why he was freaking out. The Dragonite soon shifted from a soft, concerned glance towards her best friend to shifting into a protective reflex, turning right back towards the stranger in question once she heard the Shedinja get close. Lavy stomps right in front of Toby and puts her right between her partner and the runaway Pokemon, leaving Bob to bump into her first. Unfortunately, the dragon was none too happy to see the ghost. In response to Toby's distress, the overprotective dragon was looking down at the Shedinja was a cold death glare. A deep, enraged scowl filled her once gentle eyes and she was letting a rather obvious growl, intending to give Bob the hint to back off.

"Bob, come here." A bored tone resonated from those words, as if the Shedinja had a habit of floating in front of people's paths. The Shedinja didn't move, nor flinch as the Dragonite stared them down, as if silently challenging them. As if reeled back by a tether, the shell slowly floated back to Reggie's side, who returned the seemingly vacant shell with their PokeBall.

"I'm so sorry about that. He does that every now and then. You and your Dragonite alright?" He noticed how protective the Dragonite was, so he only stepped forward a couple of feet until he was around eight feet away, careful to give the boy and his Pokemon a wide berth. The Haunter floated towards the two, though he knew to keep a wide berth. He looked at the Dragonite curiously, intending to maybe get the Dragon/Flying-Type's side. He spoke in a ghoulish tone, though it was meant to be a greeting; his iridescent blue tongue sparkled in the light.

"Anyway, is there anything I could do for you to not allow that to happen again? I came here to see some sights, as well as probably partake in the culture here." For a traveler, he certainly didn't look the part. Though, his tone was pretty genuine sounding, and it even was apologetic. "I'm Reggie, by the way. The Shedinja is Bob, and this is Emeric. What's your name?" Reggie tried so hard to keep his arm-waving shenanigans down a couple notches, as he figured by the looks of this guy and the face he was given him that he wasn't at all pleased with seeing trainers. He gave the man a pause before continuing. If the man wanted to be left alone, Reggie had no intention to leave the kid alone for right now. At least, not until he was satisfied his apology was accepted.

Seeing people who were more attuned with Pokemon than people was always a fascinating conundrum that made it a thrill to seek their friendship to Reggie. "Maybe I can make food for you and your Pokemon? I'm a pretty damn good cook, not to toot my own horn." He stood up straighter, clearly confident in his cooking skills.
