Just for UltraCow, and if anyone else is interested in seeing what's available, here are the trainer sprites from D/P. Note that they are not in any real sensible order and that at least the male and female hero sprites are repeated (This is because they are entered twice, once for in-game and once for linking up to others).

The back sprites feature trainers who accompany you in D/P for periods of time to battle 2-2 with wild or trained Pokemon. Except for the Wally-Clone rival, who shows you how to catch a Pokemon (Though by the time he does, you're likely to have already done it yourself, so it's mostly pointless),

As with the other sprites, please don't download and use these on your sites or directly link them from us until after October 12th (Though i'd prefer if you didn't directly link them from us at all, leechers) as the extractors have requested that some of us are given this chance for a little 'exclusive'. Honestly, I'd rather they'd released them to the general public for general use right away, but it's not my choice to make.

You CAN use these images to make sig banners, trainer cards, whatever. You can also use them as your avatar by selecting them in the list.

Oh and BTW...I justed noticed how they made the PKMN BREEDERs look like they are doing some pretty intense work this time around!

Woo! Yeah! Hiker sprites FTW.

They just keep getting better and better don't they?. Well I think they do.

Oh and I just can't believe they bought that film crew back. I always loved putting nonsensical words in for the TV bit, like "Wroooar!. But apart from that they seemed so pointless...

There is an Elite 4 in DP, as there is one in every PokéMon game. I'm not sure who the blonde with the black trenchcoat is (other than a bad Matrix reference), but it's possible that she's the Elite Four Champion, for her minisprite has a similarity to that. I'm not 100% sure myself.

Shirona, the "blonde with the black trenchcoat" is indeed the Champion, you meet her a few times during your adventure too.

(nods) It is. After Gary, Lance, Steven and Wallace (R/S / Emerald version difference FTW x_X), about time we got a female champion. Even if her official art makes her look less cool. >>

I think it's a fair enough bump - the games will be out here in a month after all, I'm sure there are people who would wish to look into what trainers will be in the games, just as we did in September.

It was also on topic and relevant, which is more than can be said for recent bumps by other people.

Uh, in all seriousness, I've been on a quest lately which I've signed up for like five different forums asking about these sprites, only to be met with "how do i sprite???" which is not even close to the answer I'm looking for - generally, I'm convinced that a lot of people take the ripping process for granted. And by all means, it's all right - it's awesome when you get these sprites from a system that isn't really halfway complete (in terms of emulation and what have you) and whatnot. Luckily, you've also got an admin who's cool enough to always be around to answer questions. :E [Pat yourself on the back, Pokecharms]

Dr. Oak, do you by any chance know how the sprites were ripped? I've tried various programs and even tearing through the LZ77 compression methods only to no avail. From what information I'm acquired, this German guy (who goes by the name of "pika") dissected the ROM and made a NARC file reader. Am I correct?
