March 24, 1999

Isaac North waved goodbye to his parents, and set off into the streets of Littleroot Town. The two had been kind enough to make sure the fifteen year old got to the town safely from his home of Rustboro City. He was going to be a Trainer, not just any Trainer, but a master of Pokemon biology and genetics. As a native of Hoenn, Littleroot Town was definitely the place to start out. The sleepy little village was home to a community college, where the local Starter Program was run by a man named Professor Birch.

The fifteen year old wasn’t all that impressive looking. Blue eyes, with square rimmed glasses, dusty brown hair, with stubble marking the beginnings of a goatee. The area had probably never been shaved since he was old enough to grow hair, but still was barely noticeable. He couldn’t be any taller then 5’8”, and was lean, but had no real muscle on him either. He wore urban camo cargo pants, along with a white t-shirt, white sneakers, a brown satchel bag, and a gray light jacket. Cold weather wasn’t too much of a trouble in Hoenn, but the coat would definitely help when it rained. And it certainly rained a lot this time of year.

His goal was to study abroad, stopping in all the major cities for local knowledge on the subjects he wished to excel in at libraries and maybe even in the heads of some of the locals. Having Pokemon not only made him safer for all this, but also allowed him to get hands on knowledge, and while he hoped to become friends with any Pokemon he might get, he didn’t want to rule out the possibility of maybe performing a few tests with them. Nothing inhumane, of course, just simple little things. The teenager even had a notebook which he planned to fill with these experiments.

The town was small, and thus it wasn’t hard for Isaac to find the lab in which the Starter Program was run. There was quite a large area fenced in around the lab, no doubt where the three species, Torchic, Mudkip, and Treecko, were kept safe from predators and poachers. The lab itself was a small building sitting at the border of this fence. Isaac approached, and knocked. After a moment, the door opened, a middle aged man with a beard was staring back at him.

“You must be one of the new Trainers I had an appointment with today,” the man smiled. He reached his hand out to shake Isaac’s, before introducing himself. “I’m Professor Birch; it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Though, you’re a bit early.”

Isaac nodded. True, he was earlier then the expected time. He had hoped to catch the Professor early to have a good pick of the Starters, and also ask him a few questions. The Professor moved out of the way of the door and showed him to the table where today’s Starters were being kept. As Isaac had hoped, he had gotten there first, and thus all three of the Pokeballs were still sitting on the table.

“You can take your pick of these three,” the Professor explained, “The left contains Torchic. It’s a Fire Type. There’s also Mudkip, in the middle, a Water Type, and Treecko, on the right, a Grass Type.”

Isaac considered for a few minutes, before grabbing the leftmost ball. He pushed the button in the middle, and let out a small orange and yellow bird. The bird hopped over to him, looking him over.

“Alright, Torchic it is,” the Professor nodded. He then picked up the small bird and turned it over. After a moment, he showed Isaac what he was looking at, “This one’s a boy, you can tell because this tail feather here has a large black dot on it. It can be a little hard to locate, but it’s there if you look.”

Isaac nodded; there was indeed a black dot on one of the bird’s feathers. He’d have to note that in his book. If he wanted to know everything, he’d have to start with the simple things, including being able to tell gender differences. The Professor offered the bird to the teenager, and after a moment, Isaac accepted it back. He was surprised to find it was very warm to the touch. It must have shown on his face, as the Professor laughed.

“Torchic have pouches for their fire attacks much like other Fire Types. It makes them very warm to the touch,” he explained, “They’re very friendly, like all Starters, but watch out for its fireballs. Though they may be small, they burn at about 1000 degrees Celsius.”

Again, Isaac nodded. This was a lot of information the professor was dumping on him, and it was all for one Pokemon. The teenager was beginning to fear he would need a bigger book. Maybe if he wrote really small he could conserve space…

“So, I guess all that’s left is a nickname, if you want to give the little guy one, and any questions you might have,” Professor Birch said, breaking Isaac out of his thoughts.

“Nickname, right,” Isaac frowned. He held the bird away from him for a moment, and stared at it. The Torchic stared back, the gleam in its eyes either very happy, or very sly. “Cid, I think,” the teenager finally said. “And I think you covered a little of the stuff I wanted to know. Do you mind if I take a few minutes to think of a few questions?”

In truth, Isaac just wanted to write down everything the Professor told him before he forgot. Birch just nodded, and said “Sure, that’s perfectly fine. I’ve got two others coming today to pick up their first Pokemon, so I’ll probably be here at the lab most of the day. Just as long as you don’t interrupt them, you can feel free to stay a while and think.”

Isaac grinned a little, before nodding and heading outside. He put the little orange bird down once he was out, and took a seat next to the door. Cid wandered a little away, this likely being his first time outside of the fence, but stayed close to Isaac’s location. The teenager, meanwhile, opened up the brown satchel and pulled out a thick notebook with a black cover. He opened it, and started writing.

“Torchic – Small orange bird. Has yellow wings and a yellow crest of feathers. Legs and feet are three toed and devoid of feathers. Males have a small black dot on their tail feathers. Have pouches where they make their fires. They are very warm to the touch. Fireballs are excessively hot.”

That was about everything, for now. The teenager looked up from his book, watching Cid. How much space should he dedicate to every Pokemon? Was a whole page good? Too much? Or maybe even too little? Isaac frowned. He wanted to save as much space as possible, while still devoting ample room to each Pokemon. For now, he would settle on one page, and hopefully if he needed more he’d find out before too long. For now, he was content to sit and watch Cid as he explored his immediate surroundings.

Ice blue eyes flew open as an alarm went off, adrenaline surging through the girl currently in bed. She was quite used to waking up early by now, as it was part of her morning routine to have a run around the bustling city of Slateport. She put a brush through her blonde locks of hair, thinking for a moment that she would need to go on her morning run again, which over the years had made her body quite athletic in stature. That was when her eyes caught her calendar, a big red circle around a certain day of the week, which just so happened to be that day.

Alexis Coldfire quickly remembered that it was the day she needed to make the trip to Littleroot Town to become a trainer. She had already packed her usual exercise outfit, but today she would wear something more casual. She put on her silver necklace, which had a sapphire blue teardrop as a pendant on it, along with jeans, a white v-neck T-shirt, and a blue long-sleeved over shirt which she quickly buttoned up. Excitement raced through her mind as she threw her backpack over her shoulders, plodding downstairs without another thought.

"Hey, Champ!" said a familiar male voice, her father Douglas giving her a big grin. "Today's the day you've been waiting for. You get to become a PokeMon trainer just like your old dad. Think you're ready for it?" The darker haired man with muscles was always excitable in the mornings, which was small surprise considering the fact that he was a professional athlete an Trainer.

"Born ready, Dad," replied Alexis excitedly, a big grin spread over her face. She had always looked up to her father in many ways, as he was the one who encouraged her to keep up her spirit as well as her exercise routine. It was a rare occasion, so the burly man wrapped one of his arms around her in a little bit of a hug, his hardened gaze almost softening a little bit.

"That's my girl," he said. "Your mother packed you a lunch, so you remember to keep yourself healthy, body, mind and soul. I'll be watching you on the big screen, so make me proud." He kissed her lightly on the forehead, and she gave him a watery sort of smile, as she would miss him on her travels.

Alexis left her house, and soon after the fluttering of wings could be heard. An older woman with blonde hair hopped off one of the two large birds she seemed to have in her possession, one brown with large tail feathers and head plumage as long as its body, the other a brilliant blue with contrasting red breastfeathers and face. Elaine Coldfire gave her daughter a hug, who looked surprised to see her mother this morning.

"My boss told me I could come and see you off," said the older woman. "I figured I'd bring you to Littleroot faster than the bus with Pidgeot and Swellow here."

"You mean I get to fly there?" said Alexis, astonished. "That is so... awesome!" She nearly jumped with enthusiasm, at which her mother giggled slightly. The two climbed onto the birds backs, Alexis with Pidgeot and Elaine with Swellow, and they both flew off into the morning.

---

"Now remember dear, eat healthy," said Elaine, as they had landed in Littleroot an hour later. "Stay safe, and remember that you can be anything you want to be." Considering that her mother was a cook and her father was an athlete, Alexis figured she would have a good array of choices to make in her near future.

"I'll be sure to make you both proud," said Alexis, waving goodbye as her mother took off again with the two birds and jogging over to the building in question. She had signed up for the Starter Program earlier that year, and when she heard she had been accepted she nearly jumped for joy. This area was much different from the city, but she found her way quite easily to the college where Professor Birch hosted the program. She knocked on the door and an older gentleman opened it, a smile stretching over his bearded face.

"Another trainer, I assume?" he asked, at which she nodded and reached out to shake his hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Professor Birch. Your a bit earlier than I expected, but feel free to come in." Alexis had purposefully woken up early, as her father always said that 'the early bird catches the worm'. However, she saw that she was not in fact the first trainer here, but that didn't seem to keep down her spirit. She smiled briefly at the boy before turning her attention back to the Professor and heading inside.

"I have two PokeMon left," said the Professor, "so you can have your pick of one. In the middle there's Mudkip, a Water type, and on the right there's Treecko, a grass type." That meant whoever the boy was, he had picked the fire type, or at least that's what she assumed from what her father told her.

Barring the power of Fire, she quite liked the water and found herself quickly grasping the middle PokeBall. She opened it to find a small, blue Pokémon with a large head, wide mouth, black beady eyes and orange, star-shaped gills on its cheeks. It also had a fin on the top of its head and a light-blue fin for a tail.

"Mudkip it is," said the Professor, who walked over and pointed to his gills and fins. "This one is also a boy, you can tell because the gills are slightly darker as well as the slightly larger fins." Alexis stored that away in her memory for later use.

"Mudkip can use the fin on its head to detect subtle changes in air and water currents, and can detect nearby bodies of water. In this way, it can also detect danger. On land, it seems to be powerful enough to lift some boulders out of the way, whilst underwater it uses the gills on its head to breathe."

"Neat," replied Alexis, "Mudkip here is pretty useful then."

"Yes, he is," said Birch. "If you want to give him a nickname, go ahead and do that. Regardless if you do or not, feel free to ask me any questions you might have."

"Seems pretty straightforward," she replied. "I was never that good at names... maybe Poseidon, after the god of the sea." The Mudkip didn't seem to mind either way, so Alexis decided to stick with it.

"I'll give you some time to think on any questions you might have," said the Professor. "For now, feel free to go outside and talk to the other trainer if you want to whilst we wait for the last one to show up." Alexis nodded, beckoning for her new friend to follow her outside as she left the laboratory.

The boy outside seemed to be around her age, which meant that it could be more possible to get along with him. He looked to be taking notes, seemingly the bookish type of person, which was different from Alexis. Nonetheless, she was still pretty outgoing and walked over to greet him.

"Hey there," she said, waving to him with her Mudkip by her side. "I'm Alexis, and this is Poseidon. Nice to meet you." She smiled and put out her hand in the usual friendly gesture, hoping he would be kind enough to greet her in return.

Isaac didn't look up as the second Trainer met with Professor Birch. He was studying Cid, seeing if the Torchic would do something that would reveal more about it to him. He hadn't added anything new to the paper by the time the Trainer, a blue eyed girl, returned and introduced herself to him. Cid wandered over to the two of them as Isaac looked from the girl to her Pokemon, a blue amphibious looking thing. Alexis and Poseidon.

The teen reached out and shook the girl's hand. "I'm Isaac, and that's Cid. It's nice to meet you."

Victor leaped down from a low ledge on Route 101, his bright, grey eyes trained on the visible buildings of Littleroot Town up ahead. His parents had brought him to Oldale Town safely, but he had insisted on getting to Littleroot on his own to pick up his starter.

As the lab where he hoped to acquire a Treeko came into view, he broke into a run, sprinting through the streets of the sleepy little town as he made his way to the lab.

Unable to curb his momentum, Victor slammed into the door, causing him to fall back a few steps. After a few moments, a middle aged man opened the door.

"Hello, are you a new trainer?"

Victor simply nodded his assent, still reeling slightly from the force of striking the door.

"My name is Professor Birch, why don't you come on in? Are you feeling alright?"

Victor shook his head slightly and said, "Yeah, I'm fine," he hesitated, then said, "I ran into the door..."

The Professor laughed slightly, patting him on the shoulder, and led him to a table with a single Pokemon on the right, "Well, I'm afraid I only have one Pokemon left, its name is Treeko, a Grass Ty-"

Victor snatched the Poke Ball off of the table before the Professor could finish speaking and pressed the button, which released a bright white light that solidified into a green, lizard-like Pokemon, only about as tall as his knee. Victor knelt down to be at eye level with his new partner, who looked back at him curiously.

"This is a Treeko, they can climb up and down walls thanks to incredibly tiny spikes on the pads of their fingers as well as the trees they make their nests in," Birch explained to Victor as interacted with his new partner, "you can give him a nickname if you'd like, if you have any questions, just let me know."

"I think I'll call him...Oliver. D'you like that, buddy?" Victor asked the Pokemon. Oliver seemed pleased by his new name, though it was not exceptionally obvious. "Want to ride on my shoulder?" Victor asked him, extending his arm. The Tree Gekko Pokemon seemed slightly confused at first, but eventually climbed up Victor's jacket sleeve and settled on his left shoulder.

Looking up, Victor noticed that two other trainers were already there with the other two starters, a boy with a Torchic and a girl with Mudkip. Oliver crawled up onto Victor's head momentarily as he reached into his pack with one arm and drew out a sketchbook, settling back on his shoulder as he lowered it again, approaching the other two.

"Hi, I guess we got today's starters then!" Victor said to them, looking excited, "This is Oliver, I'm Victor, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Isaac," said Alexis, after which she knelt down to smile at the Torchic that had approached her. "Nice to meet you too, Cid. My mother would love you, she has a thing for birds." A soft giggle passed her lips, but a sudden slamming sound startled her. Another boy had appeared, this one seemingly a little bit over excited as he slammed into the door.

Before she could ask him if he was okay, he was invited into the lab by Professor Birch. Since there was only one PokeMon left, she already knew what the boy would be getting, but it would be interesting to see the PokeMon nonetheless. The boy came out not a few minutes later, a little green gecko in tow on his shoulder. He introduced himself and his PokeMon, and she smiled at the newcomer and extended her hand.

"Alexis," she said, putting her hand on her chest before motioning to the Mudkip beside her. "And this is Poseidon. Nice to meet you, Victor." After that was all said and done, she went to stand between the two boys with her Mudkip.

"So I suppose we're waiting for the Professor now?" she asked tentatively. "I might have a few questions for him, come to think of it..."

The girl said her hellos, before the third trainer of the day arrived. He smashed right into the door, quite the way to get the Professor's attention. Within minutes, the boy was back out of the lab. The new trainer was very excitable to say the least, wandering over to them with a green lizard on his shoulder and a book of some sort in his arms. He introduced himself as Victor, and the Pokemon as Oliver.

"Isaac," the teen replied, "and this is Cid. As to the Professor, I don't know. I had a few questions for him, but I think I can just ask the two of you."

He showed them his book, with his notes thus far on Torchic. "I want to work with Pokemon when I get older, so I'm starting a catalog of all the Pokemon I meet. Would you two mind telling me what Birch told you about your Starters?"

Dwayna DragonFire

"Birch said that Poseidon was male due to the color of his gills and his fin size," replied Alexis, a finger put on her chin in thought. "He also said the head fin could detect changes in air and water currents, that he could breathe underwater with his gills, and that he could lift large boulders while on land, but I haven't tested that theory as of yet."

The fact that Isaac had already decided what to do with his life made Alexis think about what she wanted to do. It would be cool to be a good Trainer like her father, but she loved to cook like her mother. She supposed that she would be able to combine the two, since her mother had a couple of fully evolved birds and she never really asked how her mother managed to get them.

"I guess my thing is cooking," said Alexis, "Though I'm very athletic and love sports as well as the prospect of training PokeMon. This journey is probably going to be the highlight of my life." She gave the two her winning smile and a thumbs up, to emphasize how pumped up she was at the moment.

"The Professor said that Treeko are able to climb really well cause of little tiny spikes on the ends of their fingers, and they live in trees, I guess," Victor related to the other boy, Isaac, after Alexis finished speaking.

"As for me, um," Victor held up his sketchbook, "I draw Pokemon that I see, mostly just the birds that live near Petalburg. Wingull and Taillow and stuff." Victor fell silent as he realized he had difficulty saying any more about himself.

Isaac flipped the page, and wrote what the other boy told him about Treecko, looking up every few moments to visually study the Pokemon.

"Treecko - Reptilian, overall green, with red stomach and throat. Three digits on both hands and feet. Bipedal, has a dark green tail. Fairly large, possibly a counterweight? Lives in trees, and has spikes on the ends of its digits to help it climb."

That done, he looked at the girl. She hadn't said what Species her Poseidon was called, but if he had Torchic and the other boy Treecko, then this must be Mudkip. Before Isaac could write anything on the Pokemon, the door to the lab opened, and the Professor appeared again.

"Good to see you're all still here!" the man smiled, in his hands were a number of minimized Pokeballs. He offered the balls to the three of them. "I have 15 Pokeballs here, 5 for each of you. They should help get you started on your journeys."

Isaac stood up, and picked out five of the balls. They were all empty, of course, filling them was their duty. The teenager opened his backpack and placed the empty balls inside, before taking a seat and quickly writing what Alexis had told him before he forgot.

"Mudkip - Blue amphibian with orange checks. Has a fin for a tail and a fin crest on its head. Its underside is a lighter blue. It is a quadruped. Head fin can detect changes in air and water currents. Can breath underwater from gills on orange checks. Is strong enough to lift boulders on land.

The other boy had begun writing in his notepad, so Victor knelt to examine his partner. He opened the sketchbook he had taken from his backpack and began to draw the little orange bird, staring at him very intently.

A few moments later, the Professor stepped back out of the lab.

""Good to see you're all still here!" He said, smiling, "I have 15 Pokeballs here, 5 for each of you. They should help get you started on your journeys."

Victor stood back up and turned to the Professor, grinning as he took 5 of the empty Pokeballs, attaching them to the special belt he wore to carry them, right next to Oliver's.

Turning back to the other two, he said, "Guys...I think we're Pokemon Trainers now!"

Alexis watched the two boys working at their respective passions, Isaac writing down information and Victor sketching the PokeMon with them. She started slightly when Birch came out of the door, looking over and smiling at them. The two boys were first to react to his offer of PokeBalls, and she was the last, putting the five empty PokeBalls on the utility belt her father had given her. I'm a Trainer now, she thought to herself, her smile turning all the brighter for it.

Apparently she wasn't the only one excited about the prospect. "Guys...I think we're Pokemon Trainers now!" exclaimed Victor excitedly, which just seemed to pump her mood up even further. She loved other enthusiastic people, so she gave him a nod, a thumbs up and a small wink.

"We sure are, Victor," she replied, turning back to the Professor. "Thanks, Professor Birch. I thought of a question for you while we were waiting. How will we be able to know more about PokeMon we've never met or seen before? My father was very vague on the subject." Douglas had given her the typical 'You'll see' whenever he wanted her to be surprised in some fashion. It was the only thing that actually seemed to annoy Alexis, other than her mother worrying about her so much.

Rex

Resident Furry
Birch laughed at Victor's outburst, "You certainly are."

In response to Alexis' question, the Professor stroked his beard. "Well, we've recently finished Hoenn's Pokemon Catalog, or Pokedex if you'd rather. As much as I would like to give you three Pokedexes, they're very expensive to produce." Suddenly, he seemed to have an idea. "Wait here!"

The Professor returned to his lab. A minute later, he exited again, holding a beat up red device. He offered it to Alexis, grinning a bit. "This is a First Generation Pokedex, these things were Kanto's Pokedex until very recently, Sliph Co. made a new model to replace it. If you promise to take care of it, I can loan it to you for a while. It's been reprogrammed with the Hoenn catalog. I've got an order with Devon for a Pokedex for this region. It was originally only enough for me and my staff, but I'll send a message to Chairman Stone about adding three more."

Dwayna DragonFire

Alexis watched as Birch came back with a strange red device that looked like it had been used quite a bit. He called it a PokeDex, a catalog made from the design of the Kanto region. Her father was originally from Kanto, so she supposed that's why he thought that it would be an item here as well. Seems not everyone is as well equipped as the Oak family, she thought, taking the red device carefully from Birch.

"I promise to take good care of it," she said. "If needs be, I'll pay you back for any new PokeDex you might get me." She smiled, turning back to the two boys with enthusiasm. Her face fell a little bit when she realized they wouldn't have one for themselves, but then another idea popped into her head.

"I guess if we want to share this thing, we'll have to travel together," said Alexis, her grin coming back full force. "What do you say? It could help Isaac with his research and Victor if he wants to look at pictures of PokeMon." She didn't think anything towards the fact that they were boys, as her sports team had been mixed gender back at school.

Tailon

"Travelling together..." Vitor said, looking at Oliver, "what do you think, buddy?" Oliver stared back at him blankly. Victor laughed slightly, and turned back to the others. "I'd be glad to travel with you, especially if it means getting to see and draw all kinds of Pokemon!"

Rex

Resident Furry
"Traveling together," Isaac frowned. It would certainly be easier for his research, safer as well. The young trainer looked from his book, to Cid. After a moment, he stood up, returning the notebook to his backpack. "Sure, sounds great."

Birch smiled, "Don't worry about it too much. You can repay me by taking good care of your Pokemon, and meeting as many of them as possible. When ever you three get your own Pokedexes, just send me that one back."

The professor paused for a moment, stroking his chin. "Let's see. I think the three of you are just about ready. If you want to take on the Gym Challenge, as many young Trainers do, you'll want to go to Rustboro City. The new leader at Petalburg, Norman, has successfully gotten his Gym bumped up to fifth level, so it's for the best if you leave him alone for the time being."

Dwayna DragonFire

"Rustboro?" asked Alexis, pondering this for a bit. "Quite a ways off if I remember correctly. We'd have to not only go through Petalburg, but the Petalburg Woods." She looked to her companions, her smile going down a few watts to turn into a more serious look.

"If we need to go that far, we'd better get started," she said, a different sort of enthusiasm in her voice. She was eager to get going on their journey, curious to find out what sorts of PokeMon or friends they might meet along the way already. Her father hadn't told her anything beyond a certain point, but she was always willing to learn new things and make her own way in the world.

"If there's nothing else, Professor, I think we'll be on our way," she finished, waving her hand in a beckoning motion. "Come on, guys, let's start our journey together. Rustboro isn't going to come to us, after all." She giggled softly, ready to start jogging, Poseidon hopping up beside her to get on their way.

"So it's settled! We should get a move on if we want to get to Oldale before dark." Victor said to his two new companions. Oliver had to move again as Victor replaced his sketchbook and zipped up his bag.

"Once we're in Petalburg, we can probably stay the night at my parents' house, if you guys want to. That way I can introduce you guys, and Oliver to them!" Victor said, patting Oliver's head, which seemed to bother the Treeko slightly.

"Sorry."

"Treeko."

"Anyway, let's head out!" Victor exclaimed, already beginning to walk for the Route north.

"I think I've told you everything essential," the Professor replied, "The rest, I think it's better you went out and experienced yourselves. Your friend is raring to go, so I won't keep you."

With that, Professor Birch waved, and returned to his lab. Isaac, ready to go himself, wandered over to Alexis. Taking a moment to glance out towards the already on the move Victor, he smiled a little. "Shall we go?"

Dwayna DragonFire

Seeing as she seemed to be leading the Way, Alexis was the first to run off towards Route 101, satisfied with the fact that the boys would follow soon afterwards. Poseidon hopped along beside her, looking around every so often, and Alexis wondered whether or not it was curiosity or wariness. She supposed it was a little bit of both, seeing as these PokeMon might have been raised in a laboratory their entire life.

---

Route 101 was actually relatively short, but it was still a little trek up a hill and through the tall grass, the areas most known for wild PokeMon. Trees were dotted here and there amongst the route, as well as the grassy patches, no distinct path made in the ground even though the opening in the forest seemed to be a path in and of itself. Alexis breathed in the air, the smell of the woods and the grass beneath her feet meeting her nose.

"This is going to be great, guys," she said to the boys and her PokeMon. "I already feel pumped. Are we ready to go through the tall grass? It'll be the true start of our journey." This was perhaps the only moment she hesitated, but all she had to do was look at her PokeMon. Poseidon looked back at her, the beady eyes staring back at her, a chill running down her spine as the sense of adventure ran through her body.

Alexis ran off past both of the boys, heading into Route 101. Victor did a short double take then ran off after her, Oliver in tow and leaving Isaac behind.

Catching up with her, Victor stopped and doubled over, hands on his knees from the sudden sprint across town. He looked out onto the short road and grinned. "So it's finally time to go into the grass then?"

Standing with renewed energy, he looked at the Treeko on his shoulder, then took a tentative first step.

Isaac took things at a much more leisurely pace, at least compared to Alexis and Victor. He never went faster then a brisk walk, and Cid followed him all the way out of the town. He finally caught up with the other two as they were planning to head into the grass.

"I'll be right behind you," the Trainer said, "Don't tire yourselves out too fast, though."

Tailon

Victor stood back up to his full height as Isaac caught up. "I think I saw something moving in the grass," he told them, stepping forward. Oliver dropped down from his shoulder and stood bipedally, instinctively ready to protect his new trainer.

Victor moved toward the previous rustling, pushing the taller blades of grass out of his way. Arriving at a tiny clearing in the grass, Victor found an equally tiny Pokemon, a creature with a segmented body and too many legs, covered by a magenta carapace. He recognized it as one of the Wurmple that occasionally wandered into Petalburg from the nearby woods.

The creature looked at him quizzically before Oliver stepped between them, causing it to become aggressive almost immediately, launching a long string of silk, which Oliver dodged with ease, looking back to Victor for a moment before the Wurmple charged at him, knocking him back. Again, he looked at Victor, dodging out of the way of another string attack.

Suddenly Victor realized, he was looking to him for direction. He mentally slapped himself for forgetting his duty as trainer, and said to Oliver, "Use, erm, your attack, the um, Pound! Use Pound!" Oliver dodged another shot of string, then ran at the Wurmple, swinging his tail around to strike it hard. "Pound, again!" Victor said, and Oliver obliged, knocking the Wurmple back with another strike of his tail. "And now, the ball, right?" Victor said, taking one of the new Poke Balls and pressing the button in the middle, causing it to expand to the size of a baseball. Victor raised the ball, aiming carefully, then threw it, just barely striking the Wurmple's head with it, which caused it to melt into a bright, red light, snapped up by the Ball. It shook for a few moments, the button flashing red, then a final mechanism seemed to shut, clicking loudly into place.

Victor stepped forward, leaning down to pick up the ball as Oliver climbed back up onto his shoulder, a massive grin spreading across his face. Standing back up, he ran straight back the way he came, reappearing near his new companions with the Poke Ball in hand. "Guys, guys! I found a Wurmple and I was able to catch him! Or her..."

Alexis watched from afar as Victor walked up to a rustling patch of grass. He battled little pink worm-like creature, which didn't serve to creep her out or anything. She thought every PokeMon had potential, regardless of their appearance. When the boy caught the worm, she clapped for him and smiled.

"I guess this is a good a time as any to test out the PokeDex," she said, pulling it out of her pocket and flipping it open. It sparked to life, seemingly scanning the PokeBall before popping up with the data not seconds later.

Wurmple, the Worm PokeMon, chirped the mechanical voice. Often targeted by bird Pokémon, it desperately resists by releasing poison from its tail spikes.

"Well that seems a bit morbid," said Alexis, not smiling for once as she pressed the buttons to scroll through the information. "Says here this one is a boy. Here, have a look." She held out the PokeDex towards Victor, looking around them to make sure that they weren't going to get attacked.

Sabrina saw the trainers walking through the grass. She saw the one with the Treecko battle with the Wurmple. She could tell they were no ordinary trainers. She approached them with her poochyena at her side. ''Excuse me, but i couldnt help but notice your battle with that wurmple. My name is Sabrina, and do you mind if i battle you?'' She asked Victor. Her poochyena was barking at his Treecko.

Oh dear. Not only do you gravedig an RP that has been dead since May last year, you gravedig a private one!

Please read the date of the last post - and whether the RP is even open - before you post in future. I would also advise you read through the guide to RPing before you post again. Also, please read through the forum rules for more information on the rules you have broken - specifically, rule number 7: "Rules about Grave Digging, aka. posting in old or dead topics".

Thank you ^^

Edit: following ANOTHER gravedig and general stupidity on chat, Zia45 has been banned and most of her posts deleted. Moral of the story: Kids, don't be retarded ten year olds.
