This rp is set in the distant future and is loosely based on Star Trek. It is designed to be a day to day rp about an experimental Human ship sent through a stabilized wormhole into unknown space on a long term mission to find new planets and begin expanding Human understanding of the area as well as to begin the establishment of the United Systems Initiative (this RP’s version of the Federation from Star Trek or Galactic Republic from Star Wars)

- Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation are crucial to participation in this RP.
- Similarly post lengths should be at least a decent paragraph.
- This rp is going to be a slow burner so if you aren’t in it for the long haul maybe give this one a miss
-violence and swearing are allowed but keep it reasonable
-romance is allowed but nothing too extreme

Description: An experimental USI ship, the Horizon consists of a long triangular shaped main hull with two moderately sized nacelles located at the aft section of the vessel connect to the main hull by small horizontal pylons. At its peak is the ships Heavy ion cannon, encompassing two decks worth of space. (Resembling the Comet-class star-ship from Star Trek)

Dimensions: 250m long, 175m wide, 50m tall
Decks: 12
Armaments: a single forward facing heavy ion cannon, pulsed phaser arrays, as well as forward and aft torpedo launchers.
Defenses: modulated shielding, ablative armour plating and point defense turrets.
Shuttle bays: main shuttle bay in the rear of the ship with a small secondary shuttle launching from the ship’s forward ventral side
Reactor Core: Matter/Anti-Matter fusion
Top speed (FTL): 500c (500 times the speed of light)
Cruising speed (FTL): 400c
Full Impulse speed (sub-light): 0.25c

- Commander: The person in charge of the overall running of the ship. He/She has the greatest authority onboard Horizon.
- Pilot/Helm control: The person who actually controls the ship’s flight path and engine output in both FTL and Impulse capacities. They are also responsible for plotting navigation points for FTL jumps.
- Chief of Operations/Logistics Officer: handles the distribution of all resources onboard Horizon including staff, power and supplies.
- Chief of Engineering: One of the few senior officers not primarily stationed on the bridge. They handle repairs, damage control, maintenance and ship-wide upgrades. Mutual head of Development division
- Lead Science Officer: on the bridge they handle shield output as well as overseeing Horizon’s research and data-collection departments. Mutual head of the Development Division-
- Head of Security/Weaponry: the officer in charge of both Horzon’s weaponry and security systems, be that overseeing automated point defense systems or combatting intruders.
- Doctor/Medical Officer: self-explanatory, this Officer heads up the med-bay as well as ensuring life support systems perform at maximum efficiency.

Brief Backstory:

Name: Alexander J.A. Xavier
Age: 36
Rank: Commander
Appearance: 5'8 with a slim-fit build and lightly tanned skin. His eyes are a pale blue so light that they appear grey at time, while his short auburn hair is swept back effortlessly.
Personality: while outwardly caring and compassionate, Alex is always trying to find the best outcome for the USI, thus he can be a tad utilitarian at times. Making decisive decisions in the heat of battle in order to ensure his crews survival even at the cost of a potential ally.

Area(s) Expertise: Diplomacy and Technological Integration

Brief Backstory: Alex was born on Titan 7 the second largest of Earth’s cities on Saturn’s moon. His parents both officers in the USI, his father a weapons engineer who helped designed the first Sol defense system. While his mother was a bio-scientist studying the effects of Delta radiation on humans.
Alex moved to Earth on his twentieth birthday to enlist in the USI officers academy, where he excelled gaining entry into the exclusive captaincy fast track and earning his own ship not long after his thirtieth birthday. Before being transferred to the newly christened USI Horizon

Once a starry-eyed top-of-the-class USI Academy student from Burma, Nine's first away mission on the USI Cormorant went sour when it was caught in the crossfire between warring pirate factions. Both sides of the conflict assaulted and boarded the ship to gain the advantage over their foe. With the rest of the security force quickly dimished Nine was instrumental in fighting off the assailants long enough for the crew to send out an emergency pulse, then hold out until reinforcements arrived.

Though severely traumatized, Nine fought to be reinstated as fit for duty, After nearly two decades of active service and multiple commendations, she was the top pick for Head of Security on the Horizon's new mission.

The USI is the Amalgamation of the United Earth, SOL Empire and Martian Coaltion. The three governmental powers of the closest two solar systems.

There's YET to be a full scale armed conflict between the USI and any other interplanetary powers. Only the occasional border dispute or 'accidental' incursion.

The current aliens races present
Humans: Generic humans some with the occasional cybernetic enhancement
Solians: Humaniod with bright blue skin with large pale horns atop their brow. Their large eyes add to the softened facial features.
Martians: Roughly resembling humans but with leathery green-brown skin, they also have very harsh facial features.

Brief Backstory: Kasai grew up in his father's shadow, his father, Lucius Douglas, went from Ace pilot to commander of a ship in a matter of a few years, he was a well decorated man. Kasai learned many things from his father eventually joining the U.S.I. as a pilot at the age of 18. He has a reputation as a highly skilled but sometimes risky pilot.

Appearance: Mitja has brown-blonde hair with brown eyes. He stands at a slim posture, around 6 foot 11. He wears a doctor's outfit, though with grey lines on the sides of the wardrobe. He appears friendly from a perspective, always sporting a carefree look.

Areas of Expertise: Alien diseases and biology. Though being a human himself, he fails to understand how humans work. He can multitask, making it easier to find a cure, and he often thinks about his research more than anything else. Though he always seems calm and relaxed about it.

Brief Backstory: Mitja was born on December 8 in Bohinj, Slovenia. He grew to love nature, as he originally resided in one of Slovenia's national parks (Triglav National Park). His teenage years were spent in the slums of Miranda (One of Uranus' moons), and was always picked on from being human. His parents immigrated from Slovenia to get a better view on life, though eventually slipped into the Lower Class. Furious about this, he became interested in doctor things to get them income. He served on a former ship, though it was heading into a black hole, so they used escape pods. Traumatized, Mitja can't be anywhere near black holes, and was recently admitted to be on board the U.S.I. Evolution. The only reason was his knowledge of alien life and sicknesses to keep the crew healthy during the long feat.

Only two years after Michael finished USI academy and was assigned the role of Operations Chief on one of USI's ship. At the age of 28, Michael applied for a spot of Operations Chief and Logistics Officer on famous USI Horizon, and he got accepted.

Your SPG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) is still severely lacking, which it seems is a hallmark of your RPing. Having been involved in a few RPs with you in the past, thus I’m concerned that your poor SPG could negatively impact the RP.

Your backstory also doesn’t really give much insight into you’re character.

Total crew around 150

SOL isn’t an acronym, it’s just the name. (SOL looked better than sol) but from a lore standpoint the SOL empire refused to have their name reduced to the ‘lower class’ letters of English, having misunderstood the meaning of lowercase letters. As such all their official names in English are in capital letters
