Marceline hovered quietly in guild hall, soft, glowing eyes peering over the crowd with at least three ounces of annoyance radiating from her gaze. It's so crowded. It's NEVER this crowded. Where the hell did they all come from? Not only were they in her way, but they were taking all the good jobs. "Freaking tourists. I've got rent to pay!"

She wasn't the only one who felt this way. The few familiar faces she could pick out of the crowd were doing their best to push through the mass of bodies. Well, all but one. Mienshao, tough looking and stoic as ever, stood on her raised platform against the opposite wall, surveying the crowd. It didn't show, but Marceline has spent the last few years working for guild's leaders and there was plenty of frustration in the ermine's expression.

Marcy smirked, oddly satisfied that her 'boss' wasn't too happy about what was going on. It wasn't exactly a rivalry, but there was something that the two of them found superbly inconvenient about the other. 'Far too strict', the ghost would say. 'Far too easygoing', the fighter would spit back. It was fun to mess with her.

She looked over to the job board and was surprised to see a sizeable gap, more than enough for her to get a decent look. She quickly floated up to the large, weathered bulletin board excitedly, ready to add a sizeable amount to her bank. That's how it worked here, actually; any cash reward was fully deposited into the guild's bank. It sounded bad at first, but only ten percent is deducted from each account every couple of weeks to fund the guild's operations. It certainly kept explorers working, but it was always lean enough during downtime that it wouldn't bankrupt you.

Ugh... two jobs with no listed reward and an escort mission? She didn't want to babysit anyone. Marcy noticed a fresh sheet of paper tacked up on the corner of the board, displaying in large bold letters:

Notice!
All missions must be accepted by a team!
Solo missions are no longer allowed!
Non-negotiable!
-Hazy Valley Guild Hall
"WHAT!?!" Marceline lifted herself above the crowd and stared down Mienshao, a sick, ugly anger in her eyes. She flew over to her, dark energy bobbing and pulsing around the ghost as the guild hall went quiet. "What bullcrap is this, Mien? Got a problem with me doing my job?"

Mienshao stood still, unfazed by her threatening approach. "Please, Marceline, you're hardly the only regular here that worked alone." Her voice was steady and commanding, but once again, the ghost could tell the guild leader was enjoying this. "You do realize you're making a scene, right?"

"Oh, I'll make a scene. Wanna go paint the town red? With your blood?"

"Oh, my dear 'employee'..." That was a word that Marcy couldn't stand in the slightest and Mienshao knew it. "You couldn't handle me." She lifted a clipboard into view, showing off a copy of the same notice and pointing to the last line. "Non-negotiable. Now, is there anything else? Or are you gonna flirt with me some more?"

"Screw you." Marceline flew back to the job board in a huff, not at all pleased with the situation. A partner. She HAD to find a partner. She hovered above the crowd for a moment, briefly considering moving to a new town... but she knew she would never leave. She liked the valley too much.

Her job just got a lot harder.

Aegis floated around, in Blade Forme. When he wasn't adventuring, he would always maintain Blade Forme, because he didn't always want to be on guard.
He noticed a Mismagius talking to a Mienshao, and watched.
Seeing the Mismagius angrily flying back to the job board, Aegis decided to follow her.
But for some reason, a young Vanillite stopped him halfway. Aegis, however, not wanting to accidentally hurt or push the Vanillite away, had to have a conversation with it now.

Aegis started his sentence, saying "U-Umm... Could you please g--" Midway through his sentence, the young Vanillite interrupted him with "Wow! I bet you're a knight, aren'tcha? Aren'tcha? You seem like one!" Aegis seemed kind of intimidated, and ignored the Vanillite, continuing onward.
Once Aegis got close enough to the Mismagius, he asked "Hey, uh, you wanna go on a mission together? My name's Aegis."

Kai shivered slightly, fur curling in the damp air as he padded down the cobbled road. It was still early in the morning, so the Valley's signature haze was still settled over the town. It was no bother, though; his paws knew the road to the Guild, even blindfolded. He smiled and sent light greetings to a few shopkeepers that he saw, some of whom were still setting up supplies for their businesses for the day, as he passed. It was quaint, and it was boring.

He climbed the steps toward the Guild's large doors with a soft hum, but when he entered, he was met with a large crowd of Pokémon of all species, mostly unfamiliar. And they were all crowded around his bulletin board. Were they all explorers? A few of the Pokémon were taller than him, so he had to shove his way to the front of the crowd, ignoring the mutters of protests from some of them. He scanned the board, spotting only one job with a listed reward: a Gold Ribbon at that, which, unlike a cash reward wasn't partially snatched by the guild's sticky paws. Yellow eyes gleaming with mirth, he reached for the job request when the hall suddenly fell into a hushed murmur. He withdrew his paw and turned to see what the awkwardness was for: a familiar-looking Mismagius arguing with Mienshao, one of the Guild leaders. The smug Fighting-type held up a clipboard that she had in her grasp, and Kai leaned forward to read it.

When he did, the Luxio was taken aback. The Guild was reforming its rescue policy? That was interesting, but most importantly it was inconvenient. Once the argument settled (for lack of a better term) and the commotion began to pick up again, Kai scowled and separated from the irritating crowd to think.

Daniel crept alongside the roads that were paved with a delicate layer of cobblestone, as he attempted to ignore the beaming light shining upon him from the rising star that would always warm the biosphere everyone lived in. His arachnoid body gave off a few vibrations on the sandy grounds in response to the cool winds pushing against his delicate abdomen; slowly turning the smile on the greenish-black face into a vague frown. He sprayed a long piece of string near a big branch that housed some quivering leaves, as he made his way past tree after tree using various string shots to get past the other walking Pokémon without detection. Despite the foggy ambience the town still appeared to be stuck in, he still knew his way around thanks to the various signs posted around various areas of the road and overhearing an older Pokémon explaining the directions to the young rovers.

He carefully shot another long piece of string near the doors after finally making his way to the Guild without any recognition from anyone whatsoever. Taking care to not make a huge racket from his thud on his previous failure to land safely on his legs instead of crashing on his greenish body, he slowly rappelled down towards the door after managing to fighting against the slight winds. After sucking up all the string back into his mouth like slurping a long noodle of spaghetti, he entered the Guild; only to be met by a multitude of various Pokémon he could not remember meeting before.

He carefully analyzed the board after managing to get a grip on the ceiling with his string and slowly ascending without anyone's notice. He scratched his head with his left foreleg and thought, "So... there's one without any defined reward and the other is some reviver seeds. Hmm, what to choose, the one that's easier, but doesn't have a specific reward for me, or the harder one that I actually know what I'm going to get? Decisions, decisions... come on Daniel, you gotta pick eventually or else someone might take them right out of your hands, or legs, or paws, or whatever ya got!"

It was a peaceful time in the neighborhood, despite the cold atmosphere and precipitation. Well, it was, until an Eevee came barreling around the corner of a building with a basket of fruit in his mouth. Not too far behind him was a Pangoro sporting a Kasa to protect him from the rain. One thing was for certain; he was not a happy camper. "Get back here! When I get my hands on you, I'll wring your neck like a wet towel." Screamed the Pangoro at the Eevee.

The Eevee ducked and weaved through the crowd of Pokemon while the Pangoro plowed through any in his way, inching closer and closer to his adversary. Just when his was about to catch the Eevee, the little guy juked left into an alley, narrowly dodging the Pangoro's grasp. The Eevee managed to get out of his sight for a moment and hid in the shadows behind a dumpster. "Come out little piggy. I just wanna talk." the Pangoro hums in his thick southern accent. "I won't hurt 'cha... Too badly, anyways. Just enough to teach you a lesson." The Pangoro inched closer and closer to the Eevee, until a noise behind him catches his attention. Using this opportunity, the Eevee dashed right by him with the speed of an electric Pokemon. "ARGH! I'M GONNA KILL YOU YOU BRAT!" The Pangoro was red with rage and continued chasing the Eevee, this time faster than before. The Eevee ran as fast as he could, however, it didn't take much longer for the Pangoro to catch him. He grabbed him by the fur on his neck and raised him to eye level. "You're in so much trouble. Oh the things I'd do to you if the law didn't prevent them." The Pangoro's face shined a wide, satisfied grin. "How about you prevent this!" The Eevee says, right before spitting in his eye. The Pangoro, in a disgusted manner, wiped the saliva from his face and threw the Eevee to the ground. That's when he noticed the lack of a fruit basket. "Where is it? Where's the fruit." "Why don't you check in here? I'm sure you have a good experience." The Eevee says as he turns around and lifts his tail, revealing his small Eevee-hole. This prompted the Pangoro to grab him by the neck and slightly choke him. "If you don't show me where it is I'll-" "Alright, alright. Just.... Put me down......" The Eevee was dropped to the ground, choking a bit. "Follow me dipstick."

They had returned to the alley from before and the Eevee went back to his hiding spot, only nothing was there. "Stop playing games with me kid, or else!" threatened the Pangoro. "I-I'm not playing games with you I-I swear!" The Pangoro raised his fist until he heard laughter. He turns his head and spotted an Emolga, pointing and chuckling and the giant panda, with the fruit basket clinched by his feet. The Pangoro clenched his teeth and made a dash for the Emolga, but the little guy was quick and managed to fly away to safety. "Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" he hollered as he pointed to the Eevee, or at least where he was. The fox was long gone and the Pangoro was left to rage in his puddle of tears.

~Moments Later~

The Eevee dashed around a building into a small alley, finding the Emolga with the fruit basket. They stared at each other for a moment before exhaling and laughing on each other's shoulders. "Look man, I wasn't expecting that to work at all. I thought you were a goner Lacey," the Emolga said once they finished their laugh. " I told you, I'm the best at this stuff. The big jerk is way too stupid. It's like taking candy from a baby, or however that goes." They both continued their laughter and the Emolga takes a berry and tossed it in the air, ready to catch it in his mouth. However, Lacey's tail caught the berry just before in fell into the Emolga's mouth. "That's not for you fatty. Don't you dare try it again." Lacey took the basket of fruit and walked further into the alley, followed by the Emolga. They both reached a small hole on the side of the building and ducked through. Just as they entered, a small group of maybe 4 Nidoran came scurrying to the pair. Each one was relatively young, even compared to Lacey, who is quite young himself. Lacey placed the fruit on the ground and the Nidoran happily began chowing down on the food. A warm smile crept across Lacey's face.

"Felix, you ever feel like there's more we can do? To, you know, help others like those kids?" Lacey asked as he walked along side his buddy. "Like, become one of those.... Um, those whatchamacallits." Felix stopped in his tracks. "You mean an EXPLORER?!?!" he shouted in his shock. "Yeah, yeah! Dude, just think about! We'd be so awesome! We'd be helping those in need, beating up bad guys." The more he talked, the more Lacey got excited. He was basically jumping around like a Spoink. Felix... Not so much. "Lacey, you know how dangerous that crap is right? We could get killed man!" Felix's words struck Lacey like a hot knife. Both gave each other a serious intense stare. "We're a perfect team! We'll get stronger, faster, better! I know it's not the safest thing in the world, but we don't have to start out tough. We could just get our feet wet. You know, take it slow. Come on Felix, we-" The Emolga had cut Lacey off with a paw to the face. "I... No. I can't. But... You should." Felix's words stunned Lacey. "N-no way. Come on man. We can do this together." Felix turned his back as Lacey talked, looking up into the sky as the cold rain pattered against his face. "I'm not cut out for that stuff man. But I know it's your destiny. You have a big future man. Plus, who will look after the brats if I joined you." Felix turned his head, and was face to face with Lacey. He poked the ring on Lacey's ear playfully, knowing how much it ticked Lacey off. However, this time, that was the last of Lacey's worries. The little Eevee didn't know what to feel anymore. He and Felix had been close for their entire (short) lives. The idea of of separating crushed him. "H-hey dude, it's not like we'll never see each other again. Just come visit me after each time you take down some Rhyperiors." They both shared a small laugh before silence eventually encased the air. The only thing that could be heard was the rain dropping around them.

"The Guild Hall. That's where you gotta go. Be.... Be careful man. And good luck." They shared a fist both before Lacey began dashing towards the Guild Hall. " Hey Felix!" Lacey yelled backwards. "Make sure you don't get caught! And take great care of the children!! And if I find out you ate any of their food I'll-" "I GOT IT MAN!" Felix smiled as his best bud dashed all the way towards the Guild Hall, ready to start his adventure, as an explorer.

Lacey arrived at the Hall and was introduced to a crowd between him and his dreams. He was slightly overwhelmed, however, he found the strength to weave through the crowd all the way board. The first job that caught his eye was the Ivysaur stuck in the Cave of Endless Echoes. "Someone's lost, huh? I'll get him out of-" Before finishing his thought, Lacey's eyes caught something that didn't please him too much. "I need a TEAM for THIS!? Are you KIDDING ME!?!?" Lacey was beyond annoyed and began to chew on the scarf around his neck. "How the.... Where will.... Ugh, of all the things I need, it WOULD be help....."

Shade stood against a Beritic in an arena. She had been doing these underground battles forever now, hoping to grow stronger. These battles were no move/attack battles. Only pure strength. Today, Shade fought as a Golurk. She uses illusions to shapeshift, and because no attacks, they couldn't be forced away. The two lept forward in an one on one brawl.
<A few days later>
Shade sulked away from her house, an old apartment. The fight club was shut down a few days ago, and with no way to make cash, she was on the downhill slope. Walking around the street, she saw the exploration team HQ. Shade looked at it, and shook her head. They recently updated the rules, so no solo missions. Also, she's never been on one before. But anyways, she walked up to the large building.
Shade entered the large room of the exploration HQ. Amazed by the size, being she is a small pokemon, Shade looked slowly around. The Zorua walked up to the desk, and tried to get the pokemon running it's attention. "Hello? Hey!" She said, waving and shouting. But with all the commotion around her, Shade's small voice was blocked out. Getting tired of that, she erupted into smoke. Arouse her favorite form to take, the form of a fearful creature in her eyes, a Gengar. She slammed her fist onto the desk, and said in an anrgy voice, "What do you mean by teams?" She asked. The attendant jumped back by the force, and said stuttering, "A t-t-team. More than-n-n o-one pok-kemo-on." Suddenly, Shade reappeared as a Zorua. "Tink you!" She called back, in a cute and innocent voice that is. Looking around the room, she called, "Anyone wanna join me on a mission? Anyone?" Shade then walked around, asking that question to everyone around her.

"Egh..." Marceline hovered near the ceiling of the guild hall, hunched over in defeat. She didn't work well in groups, to the point of actually receiving complaints from some of the other regulars. It's not that she was a bad partner; rather, she had little patience for others that took their time. She liked to finish things quickly. Plus, missions were not a passion of hers. She didn't go out and save others from certain doom for the glory and she certainly didn't come out to Hazy Valley purely to become an 'Explorer'... Money was good out here.

Don't get her wrong; it's not like she thinks that someone should just go off and die willy-nilly. She just didn't care for all the self-righteous pricks that looked down their noses at her for not thinking that she was an Explorer simply for the 'good of it'. Justice and whatnot. Made her sick. They'd act like that and still collect their pay without batting an eye. She knew why they really did the job.

Can you believe she's been called cynical before? Nah, she knew she was. It always made her giggle to hear it.

"Hey, uh, you wanna go on a mission together? My name's Aegis."

"Huh?" Over the din of the crowd, a voice stood out. Normally, only the guild leaders would ever directly speak to her, because of her somewhat questionable history within the organization. That or new members.. It wasn't hard to locate the source of the voice; An Aegislash hovered near her, looking directly at her. He seemed... lost? Confused? She didn't recognize him, but she didn't always pay attention, since she usually didn't have to. She looked past him to find yet more pokemon piling into the building. Marceline shifted her gaze back to Aegis and frowned slightly. "You don't know who I am, do you?Are you new or something?"

"Well, uh..." Aegis didn't think she was gonna respond to her. "I'm kinda new, but I've gone on a bunch of missions before? I just haven't seen you around. I-I just want to help, after the guild said that thing about missions and how you need a partner to go on them." responded Aegis. His bit of shyness was clearly trying to ruin the conversation.

'Augh, what do I do? I guess I'll get to know her...' thought Aegis. "So, I think I should get to know you before we agree on forming, uh... a team? Or alliance?" asked Aegis. He watched as more pokemon piled into the building, which reminded him of song lyrics for some reason.

Kai watched Pokémon mill about the Hall, those who usually worked solo eyeing others with thinly veiled disappointment or a myriad of other emotions. He had a pretty good relationship with quite a few of the Pokémon around the guild, so how hard could it be to cash in and use someone for a mission or two?

His thoughts were interrupted as he heard a young voice nearby, browsing for companions to do just that. Following the sound with his eyes, Kai saw that the voice belonged to a smaller, dark-colored Pokémon with red markings--a Zorua, if he wasn't mistaken; a species whose natural ability was to cast illusions. She looked vaguely familiar, but he knew she hadn't worked for the guild previously, so he didn't know how experienced she was regarding travel or battle. Regardless, if this was the kid's first experience with the guild, it could be useful to show her the ropes and have such an ally for the future, especially with an illusory ability like hers. He supposed it could be useful to team up just this once.

"Hang on a second, kid!" He called, fixing a honey-sweet grin on his face. He weaved through other Pokémon in his way in order to approach the Zorua. "Looks like you're looking for someone to watch your back out there," he noted, and raised his paw to shake. "The name's Kai, and as it happens, I also happen to be in the market for a partner. What do you say, think we could make a good team?"

Daniel slowly desended downwards after getting a good look at the bulletin board. He crawled over towards the Guild's entrance and opened the doors to the outer world that was begging to be explored. He hid behind some bushes near the building and took in a deep breath to gather some energy needed for his shape change. After the third, lengthy breath, his body glimmered and changed its form into another Pokémon. He attempted to keep the process as quiet and as brisk as possible after recalling from his previous experience with his last transformation.

After managing to shapeshift his body within a few minutes of intense concentration and structure change, his ten inch tall body was now as blue as the open seas. A tiny horn protruded from his forehead while his curly ears were as tiny as the donut holes sold in a typical bakery. His back was covered with a small shell full of minuscule-sized knobs that were oddly soft and smooth to the touch however; contary to the typical hard feeling one would expect. He was much smaller than the typical size for his species however, as his reflection's body from the nearby windows had the resemblance of an infant's after a close glance.

A few more minutes elasped after getting accustomed to his new, babyish body, as he slowly waddled inside feeling more anxious than before. Even though he was not going to be easily mistaken for a common pest that most humans would squash in a near instant moment, he was still looking like a youngling that could not even compare to the typical Magicarp. He attempted to ignore the passerbys' laughter likely directed towards his neonate features. He took in a deep breath and thought, "Count to 5... inhale, count to 5... exhale. Just move along and find someone so you don't have to face trouble. Size shouldn't exactly matter right? Well... screw it! It's just too much when everyone laughs at you just for looking like a baby!"

The doors slightly opened with a push of utmost effort, as Daniel slowly made his way towards an Aegislash while shielding his face from the onslaught of strangers. Despite the numerous screams of assistance coming outside from a rushing Audino carrying a frozen Nuzleaf, Daniel attempted to come up with an understandable word towards the Aegislash after overhearing the fact that the Aegislash wanted to get into an alliance of some sort.

After some brief thinking, Daniel finally mustered up some courage to walk up to the Aegislash after noting that it was totally normal to see a talking sword with a shield of its own. However, the moment Daniel opened his mouth, a series of incomprehensible, babyish sounds swiftly made their way towards the Aegislash. He could not seem to understand why he could not even speak a single word towards the Aegislash, as he took out a tiny notebook and pencil he secretly hid in his shell; or any other storage areas on his body when he was another Pokémon.

His flippers shook after being unable to brew up a simple, lively conversation with the Aegislash like everyone else could. He wrote the note in a rather hasty manner while resisting the urge to let off a tear in front of everyone. After tearing off the page, tapping the Aegislash's shield with the force of a milquetoast and attempting to give the note to the Aegislash, it read:

So umm... I've heard that the Guild decided to have us go with someone else on missions now and well... I just want to ask you something real quick since you look like the least scariest thing compared to all the other giants here. I haven't really asked this yet, but after hearing from you, I was perhaps wondering if we could well... join in like some sort of group of something.

Lacey had spent the last few moments contemplating his next move. He thought about going back and getting Felix but quickly pushed that thought out. Even if he somehow managed recruit him, who would look after the children? What if he took too long and all of the jobs got taken? It's not like there's a surplus of them anyway. Lacey eventually came up with one conclusion: find a partner among this plethora of explorers surrounding him. To start his search, Lacey hopped on the head of a Rhydon and looked around for a suitable partner. "Mind telling me what you're doing up there runt?" asked the Rhydon with a rough, monstrous tone of voice. Lacey was suddenly grabbed by his ears and lowered to eye level with the rock Pokemon. "I need a partner. To go on a mission." Lacey replied, not intimated by the Pokemon the towers over him. The Rhydon chuckled, dropped Lacey, and slightly kicked him in the gut. The tiniest nudge from something of that size could do a lot of damage, as Lacey was practically punted into another group, consisting of a Noivern, a Mandibuzz, and a Malamar. The all focused their intense gazes on the tiny fox. Lacey felt slight intimidation but managed to stand his ground.

The Malamar stepped in front. "This isn't a place for kids you little pipsqueak. If you think you'll amount to anything as an explorer, you're sadly mistaken." The Mandibuzz decided she'd chime in on the bullying. "Just look at you! I know Caterpies that'd stomp you. You wouldn't last 5 mere seconds in the most mediocre of dungeons. Go home before you get a booboo." Both Pokemon started cracking up, but Lacey wasn't impressed. "I may be small..... and inexperienced..... and not the strong.... but I AM tough. And I'll show you all!" Lacey started to leave but was stopped by the Noivern. "I want shiny ring and scarf. Gimme them now." He clearly wasn't the brains of them team. "You heard him brat. Cough them up. It'll pay for you bothering us." The Malamar had her tentacle stretched out a if Lacey would comply. He didn't Instead, he spat in her eye and ran off. Being small ha its advantages as it allowed Lacey to make an easy escape.

Lacey knew he'd have trouble finding a partner but this was just ridiculous to him. It was the same thing with everyone he asked: Either they acted as though he were joking, threatened him, or just straight up laughed. Lacey found himself on the outside of the pack. He was defeated, but didn't plan on giving up. He never took becoming an explorer seriously but, with the opportunity right there in front of him, he thought he might've found his calling. He just needed one opportunity to see if this feeling was legit.

Shade was walking around, and she suddenly heard a voice from behind. She jumped in shock, causing a burst of smoke to blast out. When it dissipated, Shade turned to the voice, as a Swinub.

"Oh." Shade said, loosing her shock. The illusion was lost, and the original form was presented. "You wanna adventure? Nice! I'm Shade!" She said bouncing around in excitement. She was ready for a battle, not being in one for quite a while. Suddenly, she stopped. "I don't know any good adventure spots." Shade said, her head falling. "Or how to go adventuring."

"Okay, time to get going for another day~!"

Mallory slinked through shadows, between spaces, and past other places, finding an alternate route to her destination - y'know, for the heck of it. She didn't need one, the Absol already had a good route, but what better way to familiarize than to explore? It didn't take long before she arrived at her destination, the guild hall! A quick horn buzz, however, shot down her excitement before it got started. "... Is something wrong?" Mallory asked herself aloud, looking around for the source of the buzzing.

The buzz was quick, so she didn't worry as much as she could be. The bigger the buzz, the bigger the problem, and that buzz was next to nothing. With a mental shrug, Mallory continued into the guild hall - only to stare a notice straight in the face.

Solo missions were no more.

Mallory could feel her heart drop down into her stomach. "... ... So that's the buzz..." she mumbled under her breath, kicking at the ground a bit. Just as she turned and started walking, she nearly tripped over her own paw. The mini freak-out of almost falling caused her to yelp, and the embarrassment from said yelp provoked her to try and find the nearest place to hide. The quickest solution was to try and hide beneath the job board, but considering how possible that was (haha, sarcasm~), Mallory's next genius go-to solution was to lay down where she was and hide her face with her paws.

"... S-stupid!... Why'd I go and do that!?... ... I just wanted to go on a mission, darn it... ..."

With a sigh and a slight shiver, Mallory stayed where she was, resolving to stay put until she was absolutely positively sure that the coast was clear, and that nobody had cared about her mini-panic over basically nothing. "... That might've been the buzz instead, then..." she thought to herself with another small sigh.

Slithen was a little last yesterday, it was a misty one even for Hazy Valley, it took Slithen some time to find her way to the valley, she was going there for a vacation from her city that was much more of a hustle and bustle type city. When she finally arrived, it was late, and she really just wanted to get to bed and then see the city, so she went for the nearest hotel and went inside, there she met Chandelure and his family. They greeted her, and she greeted them back while she looked at the room, it was spookley lit being ran by ghosts, she kind of liked it Slithen always thought the ghosts had a fun idea on enjoying life or unlife. When Slithen arrived at her room she jumped into the bed and went to sleep.

The next day Slithen slowly got up and said to herself "You can’t sleep in all day." Finally getting up the effort to get fully out of bed. As Slithen left the hotel to bid the owners farewell and slithered outside. It was much less foggy then last night and now that she could see it was quite cute. While Slithen was touring the streets, she saw an explorer guild, it has been a long time since she had seen one of those, Slithen was always one to handle her own problem so she did not visit the guilds often.

All the sudden Slithen’s belly let out a loud growl, she was starving. Slithen looked around for some place to eat and saw a small restaurant. She slithered in and ordered a large some of food, (enough to feed four Pokemon.) After getting her food Slithen slithered over to a window to eat, when she saw an eevee in front of the guild all alone. Slithen finished her meal in a few giant gulps and slithered outside to talk to the eevee. When Slithen arrived, she could barely she the little guy, she looked down and said. “ Hello dear what’s your name?”

"Forming a team? Think you might be jumping the gun a bit?" That was only a little rude, right? Marceline was still riding the wave of frustration from her interaction with Mienshao and forgot to 'turn it off', resulting in her taking it out on someone else. It wouldn't do to be rude now, especially since she would now have to be nice in order to secure a job.

She sighed, letting some of the anger seep out as slowly as her breath did. It would be fine. She would be fine. All in all, it would amount to only a small setback; she would still get her money, she could still pay her rent, she could still get all of her favorite foods. Ultimately, she just hated having to be responsible for someone else. Then again, maybe this Pokemon was more than capable of taking care of himself. Who knows? Behind that shy look, maybe there was a veritable powerhouse that cut a swath through his enemies and swiftly reached his goals! Maybe jobs would be even easier now!

Or it'd be a total disaster that would be akin to escort missions, dragging someone around that had no reason to be putting themselves in the kind of danger they'd be in.

"Ugh..." Marceline lowered herself to the floor, finding a nice, albeit small spot where no one would bump into her. "Alright, let's get this over with. My name is..." She noticed something wiggling behind Aegis, somehow standing out from everyone else. Peering behind him, Marceline noticed a small baby Lapras holding a note. "It uh... seems like you have someone trying to get your attention." So small... Was it someone trying to get some help?

"Well, I--" Aegis turned around at the sound of someone tapping his shield, as if it was a door, and passing a note to him. It was a small baby Lapras. He read the note, and responded with "Sure! I'd love to! We could form a group...". He then proceeded to pass the note to Marceline, and then focused on the Lapras for a moment. Aegis then watched as more people piled into the building.

Kai blinked in surprise as the Pokémon changed her shape and back, so quickly it almost could've been a mirage. That was definitely interesting. On the other hand... "You came without knowing what an explorer does?" He asked incredulously. That was troublesome, especially if he needed to act as a kind of impromptu mentor, but he could work with it. While she could very well be a hindrance rather than a help, he had appearances to keep up. Besides, it wasn't like he had to keep her around if things turned sour.

He suppressed a hiss as someone nearly stepped on his paw. This place was getting crowded as hell. "I'll tell you what, kid: let's head down to the cafe across the street, and I'll explain the system going on here. If you're still interested in exploration work, we'll go from there. What do you say?"

Daniel feigned his anxiety in an attempt to appear more fitting for his body's age, as he gulped when the Aegislash passed on the note to someone else. His flippers were in a praying position; almost as if he was hoping that no one would chastise him for his tiny size. Sweat rushed from his head the moment when he noticed that more and more Pokémon were piling into the building. It was almost like a huge school of sardines that washed up here, as he barely had enough room to breathe. Hopefully no one was touching him or bumping into him at this moment, as he knew that his shell was rather soft to the touch after taking a quick realization from bumping into something earlier.

He heard some growls of resistance coming from his opposite direction near some other group of Pokémon that appeared to be discoursing about, as he hesitantly made his way towards the room with the sign that read, "Nurse's Office." From there, he slowly entered the room after taking a careful peer through the small keyhole the door had to offer. He saw a Chimecho chasing around a Cubchoo; presumably from medical related matters after he took swift notice of the floating syringe the Chimecho was attempting to jab into the Cubchoo's left arm. He hid behind the bookshelf and cautiously watched the two running around in circles while the Cubchoo attempted to create various obstacles to buy himself as much time as possible.

Lacey jumped from the voice. When he turned around, he was greeted by the Serperior towering over him. He was slightly intimidated for the moment but quickly. regained his composure. "Lacey. The name's Lacey. Who wants to know?" Lacey's eyes narrowed and displeasure crept onto his face. "Wait, let me guess," he said before turning his back to her. He kept his head slightly turned so he could see her from the corner of his eye. "You're wondering why a small, young, weak little Eevee is doing at a place like this. 'Where's your parents? Aren't you a little too young to be here? Gimme your lunch money!' I've heard it all."

Lacey waited a moment before turning back around to the Serperior. "Well you know what? I'm tougher than I look, okay? I'm gonna make a DAMN fine explorer! And the more people that look down on me, that underestimate me, that don't believe in me..... Well they'll be feeling mighty stupid when I become someone great." Lacey was sweating profusely. His blood was boiling and adrenaline took complete control of his body. The little guy is completely riled up.

Shade noticed the accusion. Not wanting any drama, "Nope, nope, nope, nope and nope. That's not what I ment." She said shaking her head. "I didn't come here knowing nothing, just haven't been on one before. But I've done research. And the cafe sounds nice."
Shade started walking away to the cafe. "Why did you want me?" She asked. Shade knew the answer quite well. Her illusions. They are the only reason anyone ever wanted her. "And I'm not exactly a little kid. I could take on most people here." Turning around, "And which cafe are we going to?"

Snow was running toward the guild hall. "I cant believe I got accepted!" thought Snow running through town. "This has to be the the best day ever for me" thought Snow. Snow was going to run directly to the job board and go on a mission almost immediately. She had a change of plans when she read the sign on the job board. "No Single Missions, All missions must be went on by groups:-O!" thought Snow. "This is a change of plans" muttered Snow to herself. She looked around the hall. She saw relatively strong pokemon ,but she didn't think anyone would be interested teaming with a newbie risking their life to protect them because they did something stupid. She thought this while walking around until she tripped over a serperior's tail falling face first onto the floor. She turned around and saw an eevee and a serperior. "Sorry!" said Snow. "I'm Snow by the way" said Snow. "Anyway want to be a team? I have pretty good aim and I'm sometimes a sniper. Why don't you come to my Ice Cream store?" said Snow. "I run it and I'm the only employee. My plan is to do it in the summer months ,but it's fall so business is very slow so it can be my treat!" said Snow.

Slithen was a little taken aback by the Eevee’s words. “Oh no dear, I was not thinking anything like that I’m sure you will make a fine explorer, I was just wondering who you were and if you wanted to grab a bit to eat or something, nothing mean I would never think to say such mean things to you.”

Suddenly Slithen felt something hit her tail, she looked behind her and saw a little vulpix that was as shocked as she was that was now introducing itself as Snow and asking them if they wanted to come to her Ice cream store to talk about joining a team. “Oh, that sounds like a lovely idea dear and I would love to go on an adventure, it has been years. Lacey, you want to come? Don’t worry I won’t hold it against you, sounds like you have had a rough day.” Slithen said as her stomach growled with the idea of ice cream even though she just ate she was hungry again.

Slithen had a flash back to when she was just a little Snivy, all right still a little larger then she should be for her own good, but she did not care. Back then she was lazy and all she did was eat and sleep, so when the day came that their school was going on a field trip the other Pokemon said she was not ready for this and she knew what they meant by that and she was determined to prove them wrong. Funny enough she was not the problem it was some other kid that got in trouble no one was brave enough to go after him but Slithen, she saved him and was suddenly a lot more liked. That was her first adventure there was many more after that, but it brought back memories with all the talk of exploration, but Slithen was suddenly brought back to reality by her hunger. "So, what was the about ice cream?"
