"Oh, your from Alola, that's cool, yeah I've come to Kanto to perform, in fact I have a performance in about 4 hours, would you be able to direct me to Brock, I was told he would inform me of where I was performing". He looked down at his pokemon Ginger was sniffing the Litten curiously while Shadow eyed the Meowth in case it tried anything. "Shadow, stand down, your way to defensive and Ginger you've seen Litten's before, leave them alone."

Skylar pointed in the direction of Brock’s gym, “His gym is just down there, I guess he should be inside, but if not, then you should just wait for him.” She smiled, petting Litten on the head, “Litten doesn’t mind!” She chuckled. “Good luck with your performance! Maybe I can even come to watch it, I’m just looking for a nice time in Kanto, I have enough time to stop here for a bit longer.”

The car ride from Rocket Pewter HQ to Mount Moon had been deathly silent. For Tracer, the return trip back was significantly louder, thanks to the constant ringing in his ears. Furthermore, his radio was picking up chatter of investigators and law enforcement specialists rushing to the scene of conflict at Mt. Moon. He and his fellow Rocket agents had, for all intents and purposes, come away from the mission relatively unscathed. The Snags, by contrast, lay all over the place, and would likely be taken into custody if they weren't among those lucky enough to be dragged away by their remaining comrades. Ein would not be among these. Tracer glanced at his boss in the seat beside him, Petrel, still in his own Ein disguise as he flipped distractedly through his phone messages. The real Ein lay unconscious in the trunk, and woe to any officer who attempted to pull them over for an inspection. He drove at exactly the speed limit, and advised his colleagues to keep their red "R" symbols covered until the heat died down.

It wasn't until they were about ten minutes from HQ that Tracer finally spoke.

"Well," he breathed, "I think it's safe to say we made it at this point."

"Almost," corrected Petrel. "And I am very eager to see just what we made."

"Intel, at the least," Tracer offered. "We know that Cipher and Snagem are back together, and they've decided to risk a step on our turf. But obviously, they were ill-informed about the Kanto Champ's true power level, even though they managed to capture his Pikachu somehow." Tracer shook his head. "I'd sure like to know how they pulled off that magic trick."

"Ein should prove informative there," Petrel said, holding out his hand. "And if not, he'll most certainly know all about that wonderful Shadow formula."

Taking the hint, Tracer passed the syringe of liquid off to him: the one Haunter had stolen from Gonzap's case. He was glad to be rid of it. If the thing had broken in his pouch, and somehow managed to puncture all the way through to his skin, well, who the hell knew what effects that might bring?

"It's too bad about the Snag Machine," he said, making a left at the traffic light. "I was hoping they would have it present, to catch Red's other pokemon. But I guess they thought they were going to overwhelm him and take 'em the old-fashioned way. Well, we can expect more caution from them in the future."

Forests, not a prime location to use a Fire Type. Alex had to put out multiple small wildfires that he accidentally started with his Numel. Needless to say, he was happy to be out of the Viridian Forest. He didn't hate forests, he quite liked them in fact. It was just that they didn't quite work well with his partner. "I hope there aren't any more forests here, one of these days I will start a fire." He cracked a grin, even though the subject was rather serious. The Numel by his side was rather unresponsive, grazing on the grass instead of listening to his trainer. Alex sighed and let a content smile appear on his face. "Man, you never change do you? Come on, Pewter is waiting!"

Pewter City was a pleasant city, bigger than Lavaridge but not crowded like Mauville. He could get used to this, especially if that mountain had any geothermal activity going on. But sightseeing would have to wait, Erebus was tired and Alex didn't want to push his partner too much. He recalled the small Numel and made his way to the PokéCenter, where both trainer and Pokémon enjoyed some rest. They couldn't rest for long though, they were trainers after all and they would not be able to reach the Fire type scientist without the right badges. Thankfully there was a Gym here according to his travel guide, and that was where he was going next. "Thank you, Nurse Joy!" The young researcher collected his Pokéball and left the establishment, feeling like they were strong enough to face Brock.

Lorenzo thought for a second, "You wouldn't mind coming with me would you, I wouldn't mind the company" he asked, she seemed nice, he turned in the direction of the gym and started to walk towards it, "come on", he called back to her. When he reached the gym, he was greeted by a man, he asked the man, "excuse me, I would like to speak to Brock, it's about me performing here, i messaged ahead, my name is Lorenzo, I'm from Alola".

Skylar followed Lorenzo with a big smile, “Well, thank you!” She said, following him into the gym. “Hi there!” She said to the man at the front. Meowth and Litten ran in circles around Skylar and Lorenzo, happily chasing eachother as they waited to enter the gym. “I’m with him, by the way.” She told the man.

The man in front of the Gym eyed Lorenzo up and down skeptically from behind a pair of black shades. "Performing? I've never heard of anyone performing in a Gym. We've only ever held battles here before."

With a sigh, he held the door open for Skylar and Lorenzo. "Go right ahead. We've had quite a few challengers today, so there may be a bit of a wait to speak to Brock."

Alex entered the Pewter Gym with an air of confidence, not knowing exactly when he would be confronted by Brock and not wanting to appear nervous upon meeting him. Nevertheless, his feet shuffled uneasily and his hands felt clammy as he made his way towards the battlefield.

"Excuse me," he said, his pulse racing as his voice echoed off of the rocky interior of the Gym. "I'd like to challenge Brock, if that's okay."

In the back of the truck, Abby began to change into a more inconspicuous outfit to appear as merely an average teenager. The mission in Mt. Moon had admittedly frazzled her quite a bit and although she appreciated being taken under the wing of more experienced agents, she still felt out of place, being that she nearly compromised mission. She also couldn't shake the strange feeling she got from her encounter with Red. She felt a strange wave of self-condemnation. Despite the fact that she was an easy target, the Trainer had showed mercy and let her escape. She suddenly wished she hadn't robbed the Daycare of their Pokémon a few days earlier...

"Message from HQ," Abby said, feigning attention to a text message that did not exist on her PokéGear. "I'm to report to the Pewter Pokémon Center."

She exited the vehicle as rolled to a stop and began to make her way back towards town. She felt guilty lying to her teammates' faces, but she had had enough of grunt work for one day. She entered the Pokémon Center and sat on a cushioned bench near the door to collect her thoughts.

Tracer had gotten a parting look at Abby as she left the car and shuffled her way off. Her eyes had appeared dim to him, as though she had been forced to stay awake for nearly seventy-two hours, and he suspected that she had bitten off more than she could chew this time.

Not that he was much better off. Red's presence had been almost supernatural, and Snagem and Cipher had stood no chance, even combined. That might have easily been Team Rocket, if their protocols for secrecy weren't so strictly upheld. When Tracer had first joined the Team, he had laughed at the rumors that a ten-year-old boy had overthrown a regional criminal enterprise. Then he had become angry when everyone around him met his laughter with grim silence. It had been jarring and humiliating.

He wasn't laughing anymore. His hands shook slightly on the steering wheel, and he almost forgot where he was until Petrel called for him to open the trunk. Tracer pressed the "pop trunk" button numbly, still thinking about the child prodigy who had grown to incarnate power. All that power, and what was he doing with it? Merely hoarding it? Occasionally flexing it to scare criminals? What a waste of strength.

Tracer looked down, considering his trembling fingers. Did he fear the incredible power that Red represented? Well . . . yes, but that wasn't the reason. Rather, the encounter had reminded him of the potential one could rise to, if he wanted it badly enough. If Red could do it, why not Team Rocket, with all their superior resourcefulness and underground members?

"What am I doing?" he muttered to himself. "Stealing starter pokemon from greenhorn trainers like a petty grunt . . . when am I going to get my hands on something with real teeth, like that Charizard?"

"Agent Tracer."

He looked up. There was Executive Petrel, eying him quizzically through the driver door window with the unconscious body of Ein slung over his back. "Come on," he prompted, turning his back. "Let's get our new guest to his cell, and then we'll debrief."

Tracer nodded tiredly and exited the car, spinning the keys casually on his finger as he followed his boss. "Gastly," he called. In a moment, the spectral ball pokemon appeared next to him.

"I'm going to be occupied for a little bit," said Tracer pointedly. "Council meeting- it's inevitable when an Executive is involved in a mission. You know the drill. Go out, do some recon, and report back when you're done."

Gastly nodded, and faded. Tracer disappeared into the complex that served as the front for Pewter Rocket HQ.

A happy sigh escaped through Florem's lips as she walked into Pewter City's Pokemon Center, it had taken the pinkette a bit longer than most to finally leave Viridian Forest on account of how she got caught up in sketching and taking notes on the various Bug Types within. Walking up to the counter she gave the Nurse Joy her pokemon to give the ghost type a proper rest after helping with a rather stubborn Beedrill, "Please let him have a nice long rest" she asked politely in a hushed voice before going to take a rest herself on one of the couches in the lobby.

Florem settled into the couch with a small smile happy to take a rest herself before noticing a boy with grey hair and goggles on his head across from her, he looked tired as well so she thought it best to keep any noise she might make down not wanting to disturb his rest. As quietly as she could she began to take out her sketchbook/notebook and a small bundle of cloth from her bag, she flipped through the pages until she came across a sketch of kakunas on a tree with some notes scribbled around the drawing. She smiled softly unwrapping the bundle of cloth to reveal some cookies she made with pecha berries, the sweet scent they gave off let Florem know that she made them just like her mother used to making her excited to eat while she worked. She began to nibble one all while taking out a pencil and continuing to write down a few more notes on the sketched page, she was also thinking whether or not to take on the Gym Leader Brock, she knew he was strong and was worried since the pinkette and her Gastly didn't have much in a battle sense but she'd like to give it a try tho she'd have to wait until her pokemon was fully recovered before doing so.

"Another challenger? Interesting, let's see how well you will do when facing rock hard defense and determination. I accept your challenge as Pewter City gym leader, follow me to the arena!" Brock made sure his voice was heard loud and clear, an attempt to intimidate Alex before the match started and making him more prone to mistakes.

The arena was uneven and rocky, potentially proving hard to maneuver on. "I hope you are not afraid to get dirty, because this will be a rough fight. The rules are simple, each trainer chooses two Pokémon and the person who faints both of the Pokémon of their opponent wins. Let's get this fight on the road, go Geodude!" Brock grabbed a Poké Ball and made it burst open, a rock-like Pokémon with two arms appearing from the white light. "Send out your first Pokémon, Geodude has been aching for fights all day long."

As confident as he was, Alex was still a researcher and couldn't resist visiting the Pewter Museum of Science whilst he was in the city. The ticket wasn't too expensive to scare him away and he had to be crazy not to take this chance to see some fossils. And what a sight they were, fossils of the ancient Pokémon Kabutops and Aerodactyl. "Wow, look at them! Even now they exude some kind of power and intense will to live. It is so cool to see fossils other than those of Armaldo and Cradily, really shows how diverse the world is!" The young researcher gawked at the fossils for a solid five minutes before continuing to look at the other exibits who were quite interesting as well. They seemed to focus on space, as there was a Moon Stone and a Space Shuttle of all things. "Those things must burn through fuel like no tomorrow, what if we found a way to use the sun for fuel like Solrock does? Space has more than enough sunlight for short travels I'd say."
