  • Ugh. Between obvious sockpuppets and the occasional art thief, I'm starting to think some people here have a death wish.
Hey. Just wanted to apologize for all the trouble i caused in the past. Didn't visit here before because my respect for those in charge is pretty low and there are reasons for that. Sorry that this kinda affected you though
Hey, Stellar1 I know I haven't been active much, but I wanted to drop by and say hey! How's everything in the land of yet-to-be-excaliburred-n00bs?
Hey Stellar, I was wondering if you might know what's the deal with the trainercards sometimes duplicating after editing them?
What is and isn't allowed on the Creative Corner in terms of photos?

I know photos of stolen art wouldn't be, and the same would apply to photos of a racing game that @Tyrin was asking about, but in my case I took a picture of a box of cards that I saw at the store. I didn't design the cover, so would uploading it also be against the rules? Or can I simply mention where I found it?
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
That would be a no. Photography as an art is a thing, but 'hey check out this thing i bought/saw at a store/etc' honestly doesn't count.

In the Johto Adventures RP, you pointed out about dreams of legendaries, and I'd said about that to Jodie.xox. I'm sorry, I misread the rules, and thought it was just any legendary interaction needs permission, sorry about causing the issue.

As I said in the thread, people should read the rules as a prerequisite for actually RPing, rather than rely on second-hand reports from other people. So really, you haven't so much caused an issue there. Either way, clarification was provided and all is well.
Quick Question, but where exactly would a celebratory-type thread (Celebrating GodJacob's 10k messages) be posted, I'd checked the Small-Talk section, but upon close inspection, we'd need 'discussion' to go along with the topic and...well, the thread would be rather lacking in the discussion aspect. Perhaps The Playground?
Just curious, it is okay to break the fourth wall?

Like if a Pokecharms user like me just chooses a Pokemon for them and then the user's character says or thinks about it, not like it's their choice.
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
Essentially. We don't have any rules against breaking the fourth wall - but it rather depends on how it's done and how frequently it's done. Exercise discretion.

I pose a question. Hypothetically, would it be acceptable to upload scenic screenshots from say... a racing game, to the Creative Corner?

Nope. Unless the screenshot features something that you created on your own, outside the game's available tools - i.e. mods you've made with assets that you created yourself rather than downloaded somewhere, you can't claim credit for it or upload it to the Corner.

    Understood.
    Hi; I have a question.
Let's say I had another account on another social media website/program such as DeviantArt or Instagram, where I post art, and I wanted to post an art piece such as a drawing from that account onto the Creative Corner here.
Provided that I can supply information that the two accounts are both being monitored by me and only me, would that be allowed?
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
If it's art that you created yourself, you can post it here too, regardless of whether or not you posted it on other websites (under your own account of course) - A lot of the art I have posted here is also posted elsewhere.
If I fuse images from Google in MS paint, does that constitute something new, or am I stealing art?

Apologies if I got a bit snippy - as numerous people I know make their living via art, the subject of misappropriation and art theft is kind of a particular point that makes my armblades twitch. It does appear that our rules could stand a bit of clarification and/or elaboration if people continue asking about this particular point, however.

No worries! I was asking mostly about public Google images that can't be traced to their source and are kind of just floating out there. Or, pictures of products that the Home Depot uploads to its site, for example, and whether either of these can be altered in any way. Not necessarily art that people draw (leaving these here for future clarification).

Oh yes, that thing. I meant to temporarily lock it while dealing with a particular user's continuous grammar fails, realized the situation didn't actually warrant removing posts and... utterly forgot to unlock the thread because it was the middle of the zarking night. Thread unlocked now.

Just realised, I made a RP (Mystery Dungeon Online) that fits in the Pokemon Roleplay Discussion, I put it in the General Roleplay Discussion. Are you able to move it?
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
You actually put it in General Role Play rather than General Role Play Discussion, which makes it TWICE the wrong place to post it! But thanks for bringing this to my attention - thread moved. ^^

I'm really, really sorry for causing trouble. I know it was an accident. I should have asked you to ban my account when I had my chance. Now it's too late. I messed up, it kills me on the inside and the outside.

In any case you currently have two warning points that are set to expire on November 5th - and provided you don't break any other rules and receive any other warnings, you don't have much to worry about.

While waiting for a good Pokemon RP to pop up (and I'm too lazy to make my own), I'm looking for a few older, long-running RPs to read through. You got any recommendations?

The rules are really old and probably set in stone now, but if you're willing to edit the roleplay rules, is it possible to add the rule of not posting on a roleplay if you're not going to be in it It's really irritating when you think you have enough people to begin and then you end up with not enough, because people haven't posted and *deep inhale* it just kills me on the inside.

That's actually not something we can do! Life happens. Sometimes a person may create a character when they had the time or focus to, and then by the time the thread starts, they are no longer in the same place they were when they created the character. Sometimes, people just forget, too - especially with all the blasted children who drift off from one RP to another when a new shiny thing comes along.
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
In which case, it falls to you as the thread starter to prod the person whom you're waiting for and check if they're still interested. Remind them to post. Believe me when I say that even for veteran RPers, sometimes keeping everyone on track is like herding cats.

Oh ok, thanks for responding and for the tip.
I do not think that you guys hae the slightest idea what it means to roleplay. Roleplaying is ABOUT being the character. You can't roleplay in 3rd person and that you guys aparently think that is how you roleplay makes me mad!
In my fantasy world RP @LeBarrel42 is making very lacklustre and not very detailed posts, his character also seems to be a mary sue, it's up to you if you think it's bad or not though I thought I'd just tell you
hello, you reported my comment earlier for art theft, i did not steal the art, it came from my Toyhouse account and was given to me from a pokemon fusion request forum on the website, thinking back i probably should have said that in my post, so i'm sorry to have caused such confusion

You should have pointed that out with the posted image, complete with the link to the original artist etc. - that does indeed constitute verification the image was made for you, but without you saying so, there's no way for anyone to know that. That does clarify things ^^

You still posted in present tense, though! Make sure you read and follow the rules from now on and there'd be no further issues.

I'm not Stellar, but I assume a Pirate site are the ones where one eyed scallywags with hooks hang out and talk about plundering booty.

In seriousness, I assume that means a site which endorses emulators, files for videogames, APKs, and so on. Getting things for free when you usually have to pay money for them.

All of the above plus illegal unlicensed streaming sites. Aside from the fact that we cannot legally condone the sharing of such content, many of these sites are pretty dodgy. >>

A good rule of thumb to remember about forums is that - unlike chat rooms, which are instantaneous and very much based on rapid reactions - they're more akin to bulletin boards, where messages are posted to be seen and replied to by whomever sees them rather than whoever you're talking to at a moment.
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
Another thing to remember anything posted on a forum thread needs to have some kind of discussion value. A one-word post kinda... doesn't.

Reading this post, I realize that I have made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement.

Well, possibly along the lines of spam, atleast. I'll be more careful with my posts on discussion boards in the future concerning these rule sets.
Uhm, there is a near-fight in one of the roleplay discussions. I don't want to report it because no one have have broken any rules yet but i want it to be stopped before it gets out of hand. Could you step in? It's in the discussion chat for a Sword Art Online roleplay
I have a question. So I know that you cannot post another person's art on your profile even if you have permission, but what if it's art that is worked on by multiple people?
    SS-I Never
    SS-I Never
So the question is, would each person have to post the page they made on their profile, or is it possible for the author of the comic to post every page of the comic on their profile?
    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
Collaborations are fair game - but it is preferable that whoever is doing the actual art is the one that posts it (makes it possible to link individual chapters as parts of a series), with writers and collaborators given linked credit in the image descriptions. ^^

    StellarWind Elsydeon
    StellarWind Elsydeon
It's not so much of a cover as it's just the background image the website uses. At present we have no option for cover images or - to my knowledge - any plans to actually have them.

My God, it all makes sense. The Trashmen and even Peter Griffin, the most well known prophets of our time...The bird is the word, they said. Take the first verses of the book of John. "In the beginning was the word, and the word is with God, and the word was God." As the aforementioned prophets said, the bird is the word. The bird is God! It all makes sense! But who is the bird?

I know where to look. Twitch Plays Minecraft, a filmed documentation of our creation. Who is a character in twitch plays pokemon? Bird Jesus. I've gone too deep. I've found the secret, written on a scrap on paper, folded 13 times and shoved in between the very interworkings of our universe, the red thread binding us together.

Google takes pictures from various webplaces and sites, so unless its a free to use one or your using it as a profile pic, without the permission of the creator you cannot use it the same goes for Bing, I may have gotten some part wrong there but that should at least answer your question
