Levi watch Aria tend to Cinder, wondering if it was really possibly for the small creature to be a familiar, which was always pictured in books as mighty dragons or loyal wolves. He nodded at her words, ears tilting back slightly, she was really a gentle woman, contradictory to her overwhelming aura. Not just merciful, the kistune woman was soft and kind, she emitted a type of warmth that you would expect from someone much older than her. When he asked about the guild, he could feel the alert of some of the other guild members- a type of sudden distress that dissipated so quickly that Levi wasn't sure if he had imagined it. At any rate, Aria stayed perfectly calm. Perhaps those subtle differences were what put Aria at the leader position before the others. The woman spent more time speaking of her tails than anything else at first, which Levi didn't exactly mind, though he was growing impatient for answers and he simply didn't find the maintenance of Aria's tails to be of equal importance of how she joined created the guild. Still, Levi couldn't help but listen to every word, nodding gratefully at the woman's last phrases of encouragement, "Oh course." Levi said in a hushed tone, hoping that Aria was correct about his hard work paying off.
Suddenly, Aria delved into her back story without warning. Her melodic voice was perfect for story telling, a Levi found himself completely engrossed in the woman's words. Feral, powerful, Isaac, Hanz, Rami- all of the words sunk into Levi with the full emotion that she spoke them with and he could envision the scene before him. It was a... good story. A light-hearted rescue story, that suddenly turned sad simply by the shift in the woman's voice. Try as she might, Aria found herself unable to continue, and Levi- for the first time all night- didn't want to ask any more questions. She was crying? Why? What was it that made her so sad? It must've been Isaac, not just her but the whole guild seemed to get dark when mentioning his name. Levi furrowed his brows, lips twitching but no sounds being made. He wanted to help her, it was strange to see such a beautiful creature cry. But, he didn't know what to do. So he sat, clenched fists and grinding teeth, completely helpless in the situation that he couldn't help but think he caused. He couldn't even apologize.
Finally, Aria spoke. Unsteady, but moving forward, the woman announced that the demonstrations were to be held next. Levi's ears flatten, tail falling as his gaze wandered the table. Finally, he had some formation and he didn't know what to think of it. Thing will be changing? Big things, obviously- life changing things. And Levi had a feeling that the "part" the Abyss Walkers had in it was no small deal. As if she hadn't just said something so monumental, Aria asked for a volunteer for the demonstrations. Not to Levi's surprise, Joseph excitedly jumped to go first, challenging the largest of the guild- Hanz. Least to say, Joseph's unconventional warm up was enough to break the tension. Shifting his focus to the battle that was unfolding, Levi narrowed his eyes- through these demonstrations he could learn about the guild members and his fellow recruits so long as he paid attention.
