Private/Closed Blades of Azoth (Medieval Fantasy RP)

Hitoshi noticed she offered her hand. He grabbed hers and got a better balance. "Thanks" He noticed that she realized he was not all right, but there was nothing he could do about that. "Oh, I am Hitoshi by the way. If you were wondering why I was around it's because I have a camp nearby, I don't live in the town." He picked up his bow and slung it around his shoulders. "Your a pretty good mage by the way. We worked well back there." He smiled.

Carolean silently crept towards Hitoshi and his companion, closing in the distance between them. He grabbed a handful of caltrops and threw them to the left and right of his targets, as well as at his current location. He circled through the shrubbery to the only non-covered area and exposed himself, ready for some mindgames. "Hey, you two lovebirds. Don't use explosions in a forest, do you want the army to be notified of your presence?" He sneered as he walked towards the archer and grabbed his own dagger, raising it at throat height for Hitoshi. "How much is the life of this boy worth to you? If he isn't worth anything, might as well kill him." The thief asked Pearl, hoping to hear a big sum of money.

Hitoshi froze in place as the dagger was raised to his neck. He stood away from the girl so she wouldn't be close to the man. "Gah! Hell man! Don't be rash!" He made sure he would not move a muscle. He knew one wrong move would bring him to his untimely demise. "Look, I live in this forest, I have nothing with me. I am sure she has nothing either. We were attacked by a Stone Variant Forest Protector, I don't know what she did wrong but I came to help. Long story short I damaged my leg so I can barely walk." He looked the man dead in the eyes. "I know what you want but you can't get it, besides my face I am not hiding anything." The cloak was still covering his head and most of his body. He was reaching for his trap spring knife so he could turn the tides of the situation if it got out of hand. "Just reason with us, I can come up with something..."

"Nothing on you, you say? Then you won't complain if I take that cloak of you, after all you have nothing on you. If you indeed have nothing on you, then you'll do as hostage. Which side are you on? Infernia or Yantarlia? There is royalty up ahead and they will probably not be happy to see you being caught." Carolean cut the cloak off Hitoshis body and pressed his dagger against the throat of his target making sure he could end the life of the archer in one swoop yet not shedding blood as of yet. "If you are smart, you won't resist. Archer boy here is in no position to resist and you girlie would harm your boyfriend when using magic to hurt me."

"Who's gonna save you now?" a masked man asked a Sage, a knife pressed to his neck.
Pearl grabbed her body. Why? Cursed memory! "Lovebirds....What does this boy mean to you?" Idiot! Its not like that. Pearl moved to reach for her staff, but stopped, afraid an attack would get Hitoshi killed. Plus, her magical energy wasn't fully back yet.
"Look. We are simply acquaintances that met when I was clearing a path to the to the Prince for my friends. I am Pearl, officially established Mage to Yantarlia castle. Perhaps you know me from the news of my parents death years ago. Gods know everyone else sees me for that reason, except for about three people. If you...Let..."
Pearl began to stutter. Damn, knife wielding fool! How dare he make me feel this way! "Please, release Hitoshi and guide my party to the Prince's location and I will personally reward you. Does that not sound better than what you are currently doing?"
By this point, a blue glow had entered her eyes. She was blissfully unaware and too focused on saving Hitoshi. If the other two knew about mages, they would know not push her right now.

Hitoshi hated how weak he felt at that moment. He could not move, he could not help. His mind was in so many places, but one stood out more then any. He knew that he wanted to help everyone, but he wanted to help the girl more than anyone. "She is trying to save my life, I won't take that answer to this problem. I don't know her yet I want to save her! I want to be a hero! I want to fight for those who need my help! I don't want to repeat my past mistake Omoni!" But he stood there and could only mutter few words of defeat. "...Why?" That went both ways for both people. He knew that they couldn't hear him, he had lost his voice to a deep pit of sorrow. One hand of hope, another of rage, and a foes blade to keep them at bay. This is his standstill.

At the mention of rewards, Caroleans ears perked up. "What kind of rewards? If it isn't money or something I can sell for a lot, then I don't want it. I couldn't care less about your parents, but I'll say this as a warning. There appears to be a negotiation or something taking place between your Prince and a high-ranking Infernia person, couldn't quite tell the rank. Unless you are of any use there, stay out of it." He noted as his gaze shifted between Hitoshi and Pearl. "If it is anything less than money, I can always take you hostage. Prince won't be happy if he sees his mage in a life or death situation. I'll do this again and again if it means that I can survive, although I am up for hire." His eyes settled on Pearl for a second, even without magical glowing eyes the fierceness of the gaze was clear. "Tell me the reward that I would get or give me the chance to get hired and this one might survive. If you attack, our deal is retracted and I won't hesistate to move my arm away from him with my dagger against his throat."

Hitoshi did the unthinkable to even him. He realized he was in a great position to preform a move that should disarm the weapon. While the man was not fully focused on Hitoshi, he used that to his advantage. He moved back slightly and then he He pushed the arm with the dagger down and away from his body. This put the man in a position where he can lose balance. Although he struggled with the first step, he wanted to go for an attack to stun him. The best he could get was a knee to the stomach and a push away, though it only managed to push him away slightly. "Stop, you are no longer in a higher postion! It's a two on one and you have no leverage to stop us." The moment of truth is if all of that was for nothing. If he attacks then Hitoshi might go down in one hit but no doubt will the girl be able to land an attack like that ice one from earlier. His neck started to a little due to his faulty move when he tried to push the dagger away.

Carolean was caught off guard and short on breath due to the knee forced into his stomach, causing him to bend over. "We'll see about that, you elvish brat!" He spat as he threw down a smoke bomb, covering the area in a thick smoke and obstructing the view of everyone nearby. Carolean snuck towards the back of Hitoshi and attempted to pull him towards him with one arm and pressing the dagger against the throat of the half-elf with the other. "My offer still stands, even though this situation escalated more than it had to." He said loud and clear, before whispering in the ear of Hitoshi. "Pull a trick like that again and you'll end up like the others, left to rot and feeding the scavengers."

"Wait. Wait! Ok, geez. Just....if you can truly find the mercy to forgive Hitoshi for those actions, I--You can be my assistant. You'd get to live in a castle, you'd get to eat food fit for royalty daily like any staff member, you can get the chance grow closer to me, get knowledge, get payed for working for me.....Just....Just put the knife away!"
Pearl now stood there crying.

"Don't try to entice me with glamour, food or castles. Those days are behind me, Only one thing on that list of yours makes it worth thinking about. How much do I get paid?" Carolean asked, not letting his attention shift from Hitoshi as he wanted to prevent him escape again. He couldn't care less about becoming an assistant or living in a castle, he had lived on the streets two months after the war started. It was true, once he would kill to live in a castle like the King of Infernia. Nowadays he would kill to stay alive, a far cry from the glamour he once desired. "How can I be sure that I won't die in my sleep when I do agree? Given the way we met, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd kill me given the chance."

He knew that he had to give up, no way did he have the advantage. Nothing was going to save them now and they would be lucky if anyone did find them. Most likely he will be killed if anyone moves. "Fine, you win. You revealed me and you beat me. I want to make this clear, if you kill me nobody but her would care, so you would get away with it. On the other hand, if you kill her, the army will be looking for her or be on high vigilance for any theifs. So I suggest keeping our lives at the least." This was his best route with little risk, his only choice.

"I would never kill an innocent soul harmed by war," said Pearl, her voice emotionally heavy "The staff at the castle would never harm you...I don't harm the innocent. Mr. Thief, if it wins you over, I can pay you 300 gold daily."
Pearl added that to what Hitoshi said. She prayed it would work as she wiped her tears away. Please, let this work. Don't let anyone else die.

Ether had remained with Shard and Pixel. To any human, this would have brought about blissful ignorance. However, Ether’s natural connection to the forest, which she usually used for tracking intruders, was taking away any chance of being unaware.
She took her bow into her arms once again, silent as she slowly turned towards the direction Pearl had left in, announcing her intentions out loud and in a monotonous, unfeeling, almost robotic tone. She had definitely done this before.
“The ice girl has caused damage to the forest. ... I do not have time to go to Mossley. I must remedy this.”

Ven seemed to be growing a bit restless, or at the very least could sense it among his trusted legion as they had been kept waiting for what seemed like an eternity. Soon enough however, he finally saw some activity as a squad of what he presumed were Infernia Soldiers brought up and helped pitch the tent that had been talked about for this little talk between himself and the captain.

Said captain that had yet to make an appearance.

"So, seems they were quite literal about the tent." Ven mused, as the prince observed the tent but had yet to enter inside it. While he may have been labeled a little on the idealist side of things....by no means did that make him completely a fool. He was gonna at least wait for the captain himself to show up before he's agree to willingly step inside an enemy tent for the moment. Staying among his troops for the moment while he waited for the captain himself or herself to make an appearance.

"Stay on guard. Do not instigate, but be ready to strike on my command." Prince Ven would say among his troops, quiet enough to prevent those by the gate or even the Infernia troops by the tent from hearing in. Just to be safe. Still, he hoped this meeting was what it appeared to be and this could be resolved without coming to needless blows.

Carolean let out a short hollow laugh when Hitoshi said that there would be an army looking for him. "They don't know what I look like, I can just change clothes. Not really much different from what I am already doing anyway. Besides, I can still kill you and leave no witnesses." He noted with no sarcasm or anything that might prove that he was joking in his voice as the smoke began to disperse. "You say you don't harm the innocent, but is anyone truly innocent in this damned war? I've killed former friends of mine, not exactly innocent now am I? Will I still be safe when hiring me? And is that amount of gold only once or is it given multiple times? I won't kill as long as this might be lucrative, so at ease."

"Once a day," said Pearl, as she walked over to the thief. "I've...killed to. I'm not as strong as you may think...I can frost a section of a forest, but I can't heal the mortally wounded like a sage or attack like a sorceress. A few days ago, a girl from a village plagued by war died in my arm because I couldn't heal a jab to her heart in time and I was the only spell caster deployed. My hands are bloodied as well, and I'm protected." Pearl placed her hand on Carolean. "Trust me and I'll help you, okay?"

Carolean surpressed a flinch and slapped Pearl's hand away. "Don't touch me, are you crazy? I could have more weapons on me. And how is being unable to heal a stranger similar to willingly killing people you know? I am not bought yet, although the money is good." He said as he took his dagger of Hitoshi's throat. "Attack me, and next time I won't hesistate Elf boy."

A wave of relief fell over him as he fell the the ground catching his breath. He was taken away too by the remark. "I am not an elf, I am a half-elf. Go ahead and say its the same but its better than either race, its both combined." He took a second to breathe and think. "My father told me that once. Hitoshi; my name, means Equal, just with an accent on the last I. I know you don't want to fight in this war but look, you are closer yet you want to be farther." He stood up using most of his energy to do so. "Maybe its by accident or on purpose, who knows." He smiled. "But that's why I came here, to help end this war, but O wanted to know more, meet more, see more." He looked at the girl then for a moment.

Pearl took a moment to think. What else could she say to convince him? And how much longer before the others show up and things get touchy again? Pearl let out a deep breath, before she heard what Hitoshi said.
"Ok. Look. I have stuff to do and don't have all day to waste. Both of you can come with me and help stop this or separate and continue to live the way you live now...Dancing back and forth like this won't help anyone."
Pearl reached out her hands to both of them. "Come with me or don't. But I need you to decide."

Carolean huffed at the race comment. "I don't care what race you are, you'll still die by a dagger to the heart. You are right about the war comment, but I am willing to take that risk. Even if I find a quiet place, the war is still inside of me so I might as well be busy and earn some money whilst I'm here." As Hitoshi said that he wanted to know more, meet more and see more, he surpressed a gagging motion. So idealistic, makes me want to knock some realism into his skull. He refrained from doing so and instead looked carefully at Pearl's hands. "I suppose you're not Infernia and the money is good, so why not?" Carolean grabbed her hand. "My name is Carolean May, at your service as long as I don't get a better offer. And watch your step, there are quite a bit of caltrops around."

As much he was glad that this is over, he never expected this outcome. He nodded and exepted the fact. "All right, I am coming too." He walked over to them. He had an uneasy feeling but he ignored it for now. "As I said, I am Hitoshi." He looked at Carolean. He left his cloak behind, no use in that anymore. He looked away towards the girl. "Hey, I didn't realize you said your name until now. It's nice to meet you Pearl." He smiled and for a moment forgot about the pain.

"Agreed." Lily said, turning her pegasus around towards where the army was located.
But the tent was already up, the Prince approaching.
"That's bad." Lily said. Quickly, her pegasus flapped its wings, and she soared down towards the army. She might be able to make it in time if she pushed herself.
But deep down, she knew she couldn't.

"Well then, let's go!" Pixel said. That's when Pearl wandered off to do some scouting. Shard and Pixel waited with the Dryad for a short bit.
"She's been gone too long." Pixel said. "She's usually a lot quicker than this."
"Do you think something's up?" Shard asked.
"I know something's up." Pixel replied.
That's when Ether made her statement about the forest. Pixel quickly flew in front of her. "Nonono, waitwaitwait! Something's up. I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt your forest. But we really do need to go to Mossley, but we do need her for that. So let's find Pearl and head to Mossley. Does that sound good?"

JORDAN SALE
"That's all, thank you," Jordan said, standing up from the bar. The man looked at him, puzzling over their encounter.

"But we weren't finished," the man protested. No one left him unsatisfied. He was a man with friends in high places, after all. He was Herm, and he could make your life hell.

"Yes," Jordan nodded, pulling his tan hood up, "We are."

Jordan began to exit the pub. Herm stumbled over to him, and clamped a hand down on his shoulder.

"We are not done here," Herm hissed.

Jordan sighed, "You're right."

"I- I am?"

"Well the poison should have kicked in by now," Jordan admitted, "So clearly something has gone awry."

"Pardon?"

"I'm going to have to do this the old fashioned way. We're not done here after all," Jordan said, relaxing his arms.

"What are you talking about?" Herm asked shakily, slowly backing away.

Jordan advanced on Herm, swiftly gripping him by the hair and slamming his head against the bar. It shook violently, spilling some drinks.

"What the hell, man?" an overweight man growled from the other end of the bar.

"My apologies, Newman," Jordan said quickly, before flipping Herm around to face him. He then kicked Herm's right knee and an earsplitting crack filled the pub. It was followed by complete silence. Then the sobbing of Herm.

"Who are you?" Herm cried.

"It doesn't matter who I am," Jordan said, crouching down to be eye-to-eye with Herm, "What matters is who sent me. You've pissed off a lot of people in your life, Herm. The past always catches up to you."

In one quick motion, Jordan drew his dagger from a sheath on his boot and drove it into Herm's shattered knee cap, wrenching it back and forth as Herm shrieked. Finally, Herm's leg detached at the knee. Jordan grabbed the loose limb, and smacked Herm in the face with his foot.

"Why you kicking yourself?" the overweight man, Newman, howled in laughter.

"Really killing the mood, Newman," Jordan muttered. Once Herm was all cried out, Jordan slung him over his shoulder. He trudged out of the pub, and was met with a brilliant, blazing sunset. One he might have once loved to sit down and gaze at with Marion. The floating, gear filled islands of Iuppiter dotted the warm sky, orange with hints of yellow and even purple. And red. Blood red.

Jordan made it to the edge of the small island that the pub was located on, took Herm off of his shoulder, and held him over the edge.

"Who?" Herm said, no tears left.

Jordan leaned forward and whispered a name in his ear. Herm's eyes widened and Jordan let go.

He turned around and briskly walked into the bar, removing his hood.

"What a show," Newman cheered.

"A tad macabre," a thin man with sparse blond hair added.

"Figured you'd be used to it by now, Mack," a third man, stocky and tall, said.

"I oughta be," Mack, the thin man, said.

"Come on now, Jordan," the stocky man said, "Have a drink. On us."

"Thank you, Stoar," Jordan smiled, teeth shining. He slid into a seat at the bar, and drank with his friends, ignoring the tumult, turmoil, and terror of the other Kingdoms.

BODHI TURRE
Bodhi chastised the small black salamander as it skittered around between the limp trees of Mossley.

"Stop!" Bodhi whispered, "No, Slip!"

Slip, the salamander, paid no heed to Bodhi. Slip wanted to investigate what was going on at the front gates of the town. And Slip got what Slip wanted.

Bodhi leapt at Slip, trying to catch the sneaky creature. Slip squirmed through the interwoven twigs that acted as Bodhi's fingers.

"Don't you do it," Bodhi warned. Slip turned around to face Bodhi and cocked his head to the side.

"We need to stay hidden," Bodhi insisted, "Do you not know who those people are? It's Prince Ven, Yantarlian soliders, and soldiers of Infernia! Two opposing sides! Something's about to go down! We need to stay away."

Slip squeaked before sprinting towards the crowd. Bodhi paused a moment, thinking through what to do. He couldn't let his only friend be there when the fireworks started. He sprinted out of the woods, racing after Slip, and nearing the potential war zone. He caught up to Slip in no time and dove over him. Bodhi clutched Slip tight, and squeezed his eyes shut, praying he would somehow turn invisible. No luck.

Uh oh.

Fumbling over his pet lizard, a young boy awkwardly managed to bumble his way onto the battlefield. Levia's eyes locked onto him immediately. Was he an Infernian? A Spy? Assassin? Just a very lost little boy? Whatever schemes were at work, Levia was onto them. Gaze narrowing into a fierce glare, the Fairy Cavalier inspected the newcomers, or rather newcomer. She was wholly uninterested with the boy himself, but she took a keep interest in his pet Lizard. The Reptilian -wait...that was no Lizard! That wasn't even a reptile! It's moist, smooth and almost slimy skin unmistakably identified it as an amphibian, more specifically a Salamander.

Salamanders were fierce little creatures, but not the most hostile. Most species of Salamander weren't even dangerous save for their skin which contained a- "highly...toxic...poison..."

Her voice came out in the dynamics of staccato and piano, its tempo and intonation perfectly matching the way her brain slowly crawled its way to a conclusion. The Prince was in danger! For his kindness, her liege was about to get himself poisoned to death! Expression contorting in apoplectic rage, Levia seized Salacia's reins. "Hya!" Shouting in what -with her diminutive voice- was little more that than a hearty whisper, she lashed her mare's reins and send the sturdy equestrian rearing on its hind legs and releasing a piercing neigh.

Pulling a U-turn Salacia took off at a gallop, steed and rider gallivanted across the plains, the drum of hooves and the tambourine of armor clashing thunderously. The cold gleam of her Lance was menacing, but even more menacing was the expression on Levia's face -or the total lack thereof. Her expression was the picture definition of callous. To think they would stoop so low as to poison a royal! This was a grave insult! She would inform the Prince immediately, after which she would make good on her promise. A debt that could only be repaid in blood. Her lance would see blood spilled onto these plains, dyeing them the red of repentance.

She would've liked to start with the poison bearer, running boy through where he lay, but the Prince was more important. If there was time, she would return to claim his life. Luckily, the Infernian were quite incompetent, managing to blunder their plans into the open before any harm could be done.

He looked around for a moment before he felt confused. "Hey Pearl? You said that your friends were nearby, but shouldn't we go looking for them?" He stood there thinking for a moment before he looked down at the hand he was holding. He blushed quickly and then looked up at Pearl. "Oh, and um, I think I can support myself for now, but thank you for the help." He let go and felt more pressure on his left leg. He continued to bear the pain until he could get some rest. "I should be able to hold out for a while, it will eventually catch up to me though." He felt slightly lightheaded.

Carolean sighed internally and wrapped an arm around Hitoshi's shoulder. "No need to overexert yourself, one bad move and you'll just make it worse. Lean on me if you want, and don't worry. I have no reason to attack or hurt you now that Pearl made me that offer. If you don't trust me what I can completely understand, ask Pearl to support you." He wasn't intending to become friends with the archer, but he wasn't going to just let him walk along with an injury.

Hitoshi looked at Carolean and realized his injury was showing more than he thought it was. "Your probably right." He felt his leg get numb. "Look, it's not that I don't trust you... It's just that our first encounter waa not so friendly." He knew that sounded like he didn't trust him, but it was weird to explain. Suddenly, his left leg colapsed to the ground. "Gah! Hold on a second... I just need t-" He felt his entire body go numb as he blacked out. He fell right next to Pearl and Carolean.

"Whaaaa--No no no. Oh, that's bad."
Pearl bent over Hitoshi to see if he was still breathing. He was. She let out a sigh. Now they had to wake him up or be forced to carry...well....
"C-Carolean, you look strong," said Pearl. "Would you be so kind--"
She cut herself off. No, she wasn't stooping to that level of weakness. Pearl used the magic that had returned to her to levitate Hitoshi. She also drank an orange vial of liquid from her pouch. It was a stamina potion so she would be able to hold his weight magically.
"Come along," said Pearl. "We need to find my friends and get Hitoshi help."

"I can carry him, just let me collect my caltrops first." Carolean said, practically bored as he went to gather his spread out caltrops. When he returned he stood underneath Hitoshi. "Let me carry him, I am strong enough and you don't have to worry that I'll attack you. I have a job offer, so you can trust me with him. I won't attack him."

Well, it appeared the person who the Prince presumed was the captain showed up and began to make his way into the tent display before him. While he had reservations, at this point given the expectations of the Infernia side if he didn't make a move to the tent that might have been all the justification needed for them to attack for "violating" the agreement.

Least it only placed himself in harms way. Which he always preferred.

"Stay on guard, and keep an eye for anything that might be suspicious." Prince Ven informed his legion behind him, with a soft but just loud enough whisper so they would be reminded of what to do for the immediate future.

With a cautious step, he slowly made his way to the tent for this meeting. Though as he walked, he heard the faint but distinct and ever growing sounds of horseback. Calvary? The Prince paused just before he entered the tent as he scanned the area for what was causing that sound and from where.

Readying her bow, Ether stared awkwardly and blankly at the fairy, a frosty blue gaze as she simply continued stretching her bow.
“This forest may be part of Mossley, but my duty is to the forest, not Mossley. Making sure your friend has not broken the rules is more important than finding out what Enemy has done to Mossley.”
She then lowered her bow, walking forwards in the general direction she had sensed Pearl in, not really giving Shard or Pixel much time to respond, and clearly far more concerned with finding out what had happened.

Pearl allowed for Carolean to take the half elf on his back. Soon, the trio went towards Pixel's direction. She was quite happy to have two apprentices. They will be nice to have around the castle. That would come way after finding the Prince though.
"I suppose as long as I'm not seen as weak to you, its fine for you to carry him."
The mage took the lead, walking ahead of the two men. After getting away from the frosted trees, Pearl began to hear the dryad's movements.

The Fairy Cavalier rode hard, the combined weight of her body and armor barely equalling that of a grown man. While she may not have cut the figure of imperiously and imposingly domineering, she was certainly suited for the mantle of Hermes, riding upon the winds themselves. Blue hair waved exuberantly behind her, streaking like azure lightning and accompanied by the thunder of a gallop. As she neared the Prince, she primed herself, wings perking upward -twitching in preparation for use- and hands fastening her Lance to Salacia's side. Now with both hands free, she gripped the Mare's mane and rose in her stirrups. With practiced motions she removed a leg from its secure position in the stirrup, instead, planting it on Salacia's back. Soon her other leg followed, her balance maintained precariously by outstretched wings and a firm hand.

As the warhorse galloped within range of the Prince, Levia leaped! While she could not fly in her armor -light as it might've been- she capable of a steady glide, and glide she did. Soaring the short distance between her horse and the Prince, she was like an ethereal Fairy -errr, well, she was a Fairy after all. Landing on her feet, her armor clattered, but she paid it no heed. Pinching the corners of her wardress, she bowed slightly -as one should when faced with royalty. It was a simply curtsey, and as soon as it'd finished she made eye-contact with the Prince. "Reporting...Salamander...toxic...Might be...Infernian plot... Requesting...permission...to engage..."

"I have been around long enough to know that there are other kinds of strength than physical prowess, you could seriously harm someone with that staff and magic of yours. Besides, I refuse to harm my employer without a good reason. Not being physically strong is not a good reason, so you're clear for now." Carolean said as he followed Pearl with Hitoshi slung over his back and neck, holding him by his arm and leg.

He wasn't talkative, most of the time he was quiet and this was no different. He carried Hitoshi and only said something when needed to. After they left the frozen trees behind them, he stopped in his tracks. "Stop, something's approaching. Get ready for possible conflict." He hissed at Pearl as he prepared himself for hand to hand combat.

"W-wait!" Pixel hadn't been expecting this. She had to hope Pearl could explain her actions... If not, they risked failing the entire mission.
Pixel quickly flew past Ether, leaving Shard trying to understand what was happening. The fairy quickly flew through the woods, scanning to try and find her friend. When she eventually found Pearl, she waved her arms wildly. "Pearl, time to go! Whatever you did to the forest, the dryad's not happy..."

Prince Ven had his caution up when Levia strolled in as the Fairy Cavalier came in with a dramatic entrance as she panted a bit before she tried to rely what seemed to be clearly critical information. Ven had to focus to make sure he got every word, but then the message processed into his head oh so loud and clear.

Reporting...Salamander...toxic...Might be...Infernian plot... Requesting...permission...to engage...

This caused the Prince to widen his eyes as he glanced at the tent, if her report was true and he had no reason not to take her word for it than this attempt was simply a ruse to try and get to him. A sad but honestly expected development as he let out a sigh.

Well, so much for that....

Without having uttered a word he sent a signal the Caviler's way to go and regroup with the forces; to inform them of what she knew and to mobile an offensive quickly. He needed to go as well, and would faint a quick cover just in case the ones in the tent had remained oblivious; clear to him that whoever the "captain" was in there either had been a double or had some means to escape the trap. Irregardless....

"I'll be in in a moment, just need to assure my companions to ease up during this so they don't do anything regrettable during peace talks." Ven said with a believable, genuine tone. One advantage to being "naive" and trusting is that even when he told the blue moon lie it sounded like the truth. Even as he spoke he began to make his way back to his troops to prepare for the battle that now seemed inevitable.

"Huh? Why the prince walk back?" Ignette squinted her eyes. Trying to look for anything odd with the prince. She couldn't hear the prince clearly from this distance.

"Maybe he felt a sudden urge to go to the toilet. Hehehe." A soldier next to her laughed at his own joke.

"Maybe he lost his guts and back down out of fear. Hehehe." Another soldier chimed in.

"Hehehehe..." Ignette lazily joined the laugh while rolling her eyes. "Shut up. Your laugh are annoying! I will look for some air." She hastily flew to the top of the watch tower.

The situation didn't look good. Her plan's chance keep getting smaller the more time passes. The Infernian soldiers are stupid and the captain wasn't that bright in the first place. The prince might noticed this already. Time for her last plan.

"Uhh, me again." Ignette remembered when she first met these Infernian soldiers. They were having a hard time taking down Mossley's fortified wall. She offered her help in exchange for all the tea and cookies they have. After they agreed she blast the wall with Inticore, allowing the Infernians to charge in and defeat the village. That's why there's not much fortified wall left on Mossley and they made a hastily-built inferior wall instead.

She took a breath and aimed at the prince's group. Her last plan: Inticore. She'll blast them herself! A small magical sphere started forming on her hands. She kept her breath steady while charging the magical sphere. The more time she spent charging, the stronger it become, it took her 1 hour charging to down the entire Mossley's wall in a single blast. Though for wiping the prince's group, it might only need five to ten minutes of charging.

Forei had basically been loitering while the Prince went ahead to the tent. Of course the usually laid back archer had no qualms standing around idly. Nothing seemed to be happening for the most part. It was only when Levia suddenly took off that Forei realized something might be going down. The Prince did order them to stand on guard and not to instigate. Still though, considering it was Levia, she must’ve had a serious reason.

All it took was a quick scan of the field for the archer to notice the fallen boy and a salamander. Unlike Levia, Forei didn’t seem to believe that was the major threat. What were they going to do? Poison the Prince? Would the Infernians seriously stoop so low as to get a clumsy boy to play that part? Perhaps the incompetence was just an act. Maybe they were hoping the Prince would be generous enough to give the boy a helping hand. Instead of the boy, the salamander would take that hand...

‘No way. I’m definitely over thinking this one.’

But if it wasn’t the salamander, what could’ve triggered Levia to fly off to the Prince’s side? Either way, making a move himself when he didn’t know all the details would probably cause unnecessary commotion within their ranks. Luckily, he wouldn’t have to wait long to get the details.
Prince Ven was now heading back from the tent, presumably with Levia behind him.

‘What, already? That was fast.’ Forei wondered what Levia had said to cause the Prince to retreat so quickly. Perhaps it wasn’t a retreat. Maybe with Levia’s information, the Prince was able to deal with the Infernians in that short amount of time. If that was true, Prince Ven really did have a way with words. However, even though Forei didn’t doubt the Prince’s capability, he found it highly unlikely the Infernians would cave in so quickly. Whatever was going on, the archer stood calmly as he waited to hear an explanation.

While Hitoshi was unconscious, he started to have visions. As black faded into color, he could see somebody standing next to him. His father; a rather tall man, stood there with an axe. "Son, you need to learn how to wield this tool, I am getting to old and I am in need of help around the house." Hitoshi nodded and grabbed an axe that fit his size. He went over to a pile of logs to chop up into firewood. It was cold out and there were dark clouds approaching. He swung at the logs and slit them into fours. His hands started to burn with the recoil of the axe. "It hurts Dad, I can't feel my hands." Blisters and cuts filled his hand as his father wrapped them in a cloth. "Just take the wood you cut and take it inside. We can get gloves soon but for now, try to go on without help."

Hitoshi went inside and lit a fire with the wood he chopped. There was a good amount, but with the impending snow storm, they might run out fast. He didn't want to make his father or him to go without wood, so he ran back outside and grabbed his axe. His father looked at him with a confused but stern face. "Hey, you can stay inside, there is nothing else you can do here." Hitoshi shook his head. He turned towards the pile of logs and started to chop more wood. He turned around with a smile on his face. "I can bare the pain, I don't want us to run short on wood just because of a few injuries."

This was one of the few things he take with him to this day. Life was harder with only the two of them. He wanted to make his father proud and the only way he could do that is by working harder, even if it is difficult. Hitoshi hated when he couldn't do anything due to injuries that make it impossible. So there he sat in the library of his mind, thinking of all of the things his father used to say. "My favorite line that my you would always say is, 'You may need someone else to look after you or have your back.' But that was before you died. You knew that's what would happen. But why would you tell me that just to leave me soon after?' Hitoshi thought for a second. A moment of realization happened. "You wanted me to find others. You wanted me to rely on myself until I knew I could not go further. I know now that I can't help myself anymore. I need to wake up!" Nothing happened for a while after. He knew he would have to wait it out for him to wake up. "You always talked about Mom, so did you want me to find her? Or maybe you wanted me to find someone like her..." He pondered on the thought before be blushed a bit. "Even when your not here you know what I am thinking..."
