Some dumbass that works in my kitchen left a pan of hot oil sitting on a sauté burner. Didn't see the oil because when it gets super hot it also get super clear and when I went to put the pan with the dirty pans it sloshed all the way up my arm from the back of my hand to my elbow. Melted all the skin right off.

You'd be surprised. It kills all the nerve endings almost instantly so the real pain doesn't start for a good hour or so
