Open CoDA - (A Superpower RP) Still Accepting New Arrivals

Ryker smirked, and go into a boxer's stance. "Okay Aura h8t me with your best shot." He said, giving a warm smile. He would take a few hits to gauge her powerful level, and then retaliate.

"O- Okay. As long as I don't hurt you" Aura said. She ran at Ryker her sword out in front of her and her shield to her side. As she was about a metre and a half away from she thrust her hand towards the grass in front of her, freezing it. Using that advantage, she slid down on the slippery, icy grass and stood up. She was now behind Ryker. She jumped into the air and swung her sword at him, praying she wouldn't hurt him.

Ryker, seeing the attack, stood perfectly still as Aura jumped behind him. Then as she slammed her blade into his back, he took a forward tumble, rolling hard and smacking into and tree. His back was a medium size cut in it, as he arose. He took of his shirt, to not get it sliced and diced too much, and he focused his power. The wound slowly began to close. Ryker gasped for air afterwards, and got back in his stance. "Tickled a bit, but still a nice shot. Now it's my turn." He ran forward, and slid across the ice, Aura had laid out. As he slid, he pressed his back foot, deeper into the ice, causing it to crack and splinter in different directions. Then he sprung forward, with a decent amount of showmanship, and swung a fist in the air, aiming straight for Aura, while his fist glowed with a pale orange energy.

Aura held out her shield in front if her, which cracked but did not shatter. She dropped the shield and ran to a nearby tree. She held her hand out and froze it solid. She jumped up as high as she could and pulled herself up onto one of the branches. She summoned another sword and threw them both at Ryker.

Lily had volunteered to help entertain the younger kids. Mostly because it just felt right which took her mind off things and also for the fact that Ryka was doing it as well. Lily saw some kids pulling Ryka and Clay tease her for it, which caused her to giggle.

"Now kids, don't be too rough with her." Lily said, trying to keep the kids from yanking Ryka apart. During this Andrew watched form the back, not really having much to do or say at the moment.

He ran forward doing his best to dodge the swords. He dodged one but while he was dodging that particular sword, the other flew towards his left shoulder. The icy blade sunk unto Ryker's shoulder as the boy spun in a half flip, half flip, landing hard on his back. He rose to his feet, and pulled out the blade that was still in his shoulder and winced as the wound was healed. "Okay, my turn!" He shouted throwing the sword. Now while Aura had aimed at him, Ryker knew he wouldn't do the same because the basic fact that she could get hurt pretty bad from a blade, while he was more lucky in that category. So instead the blade flew into the tree with a loud and sasitfying thunk. The tree began to break, the very one that Aura was standing on.

Aura stumbled and fell to the ground, landing hard on her leg. She grinned, "You're not so bad" She said. She pulled herself up off the ground and thrust her arms forward, creating an icy wall between the two. She climbed up on top of the wall and summoned her shield. She then jumped straight at Ryker, her shield out front. Hoping to bash him with it.

To her Ryker's powers were facinating, but they probably came with a price. He could just heal himself! Aura would like to be able to do that.

Kevin watched the battle, quite the spectacle before he glanced over to Yuki. Kevin was surprised to see her seem to sweat, just a little but Kevin couldn't help but be curious.

"You okay? Need some water or something?" Kevin asked Yuki, who turned to Kevin and realized he noticed her sweat.

"Oh, I'm not hot. Just a little nervous. Today's been so stressful. Think it's getting to me. Sorry if I have you worried." Yuki said with a sheepish grin as she wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"I understand." Kevin said as he turned to Aura and Ryker's spar. Kevin had...frankly an unreadable expression. Which was strange, as an outsider would expect to be happy watching his friends having a friendly spar. Oliver took note of this.

"I think we should be asking if you are okay Kevin." Oliver commented as Kevin glanced at his left shoulder, letting out a sigh.

"I'm...I'm fine Oliver, I guess I'm just...frustrated..." Kevin said as he turned to watch the spar. Both Yuki and Oliver seemed confused, which Kevin sensed as he began to explain.

"It's just...Ryker and Aura have such control over their power. They're amazing, and will only grow from here. I guess I'm...a little jealous." Kevin said, knowing he could only use a fraction of his own power without losing himself. Ryker and Aura could use all their power and had no where to go but up, while he very much still struggled to get proper control over his power.

Ryker was bashed upside the head by the Shield and sent backwards. He stood up, and heard Kevin's comment. "Don't worry. I've been having to fight, since before I could walk. You'll be fine, it just takes time."

The he ran forward to deliver another punch to Aura, with his fist raised.

"Kevin, you'll grab a hold of your powers soon. Don't you worry about that" Aura said, holding her shield up to block Ryker as best she could. "Do you remember when I first met you guys? In that class, I was embarrassed and flustered and out of control. I'd have bursts of powers left and right without even noticing. I'd harmed people and embarrassed myself even more. And it was all because... Because I was too scared to do anything about it. And you can't let the fears and the worries hold you back, don't let them hold you back like they did to me"

Ryker stepped back and smiled. "Thats enough, for this training session. Everything I threw at you, was me trying to mimicked your power. Now Kev, you wanna give it a try?" He turned to his friend, and gave an encouraging thumbs up.

Kevin smiled at the encouragement his friends gave him before giving Ryker a nod as he stood up and shifted into his partial transformation: his skin soon covered in scales and his eyes more reptilian than before. Kevin walked over to Ryker and got in battle position.

Alright, acid spit out of the question. Beyond that, there's no much out here for me to use to wall-scale off of. There is this one trick I've been working on, hope it works...

"Good luck Kevin!" Yuki shouted as encouragement. Oliver watched from a distance, his purple suppression syringe on standby in case Ryker ended up pushing Kevin too far.

Wystria's eyes snapped opened and she was greeting with the pale white ceilings of the infirmary. She took a moment to recollect her memories and figure out what had just happened. The last thing she remembered was Rio going Kamikaze; anything beyond that was a huge blank.

"I must have passed out at some point... and someone must have carried me back."

It was the most reasonable conclusion she could reach. Wystria said a silent word of thanks to whoever had dragged her back to the Infirmary, may the deities bless their soul.

Launching herself onto her feet she headed for the window hoping to survey the extent of damage dealt to the school. Instead she caught the figures of a few students who appeared to be sparring. Her eyes flickered with interest. Looking closes she noticed that these were the same students she had seen during the Hell-hounds incident.

"This should make a good show~"

She licked her lips and sat down to observe their spar.

A distant figure distracted Sky from his observation, and he turned (Eh, you know what I mean) to look at the window. Behind it, he could see the small figure of a girl sitting in the infirmary. Phew, she's okay. Probably best to go and check on her. His form drifted into the building, and solidified next to the bed. "Hey. You all right?" Sky asked, walking to sit down on the bed next to it

"Let's get this going, Ryker Punch!" Ryker yelled, running ahead, with his fist raised. He jumped into the air, and swung wildly at Kevin, hoping to punch the reptilian form.

Meanwhile, up in her room, June, instead of sleeping, was tinkering. In front of her, was a machine, that was similar to a gauntlet. Hopefully, it could help Ryker, to make a another use for his power so, her twin wasn't in constant danger.

Alright...here goes nothing.

Kevin opened his mouth and his elongated tongue shot out. If everything went well, Kevin's tongue would wrap around Ryker's wrist and Kevin would slam Ryker to the ground.

Ryker swerved his arm, in a fast jeering motion to avoid being caught by the tongue. The maneuver, almost worked, as the tonuge shot around Ryker's waist and sent him slamming into the ground. He stood up and shook is head, and dust flew out from his hair. His the swat on his chest, kept some dirt, plastered to his chest, giving him a dirt, and kinda homeless look.

He danced around, much like a boxer, giving a few punches to the arm, before he rushed again. This time, he rushed close and tried to deliver a roundhouse to Kevin's head, by swinging his left foot in a wide arc, towards the right side of Kevin's head.

Kevin couldn't dodge in time so he got his hands up to block. In spite of this the kick still sent Kevin flying, though the damage was minimized. Kevin quickly got up to climb a nearby tree and decided to go for broke, not having that many combat options especially without the use of acid spit, so he just jumped forward using one of his "super" jumps in the hopes of delivering a quick diving tackle to Ryker.

Wystria almost shrieked as the Air Spirit suddenly poof-ed itself into being right next to her. She shot him an angry glare, before returning her attention to the battle.

"Has any one told you suddenly materializing next to people is a bad habit?"

She paused, "But I'm okay, I think... well I've got no visible injuries."

She paused again, this time furrowing her brow, "How's the Headmistress? Is she....."

"Go Kevin!" Aura cheered from the sidelines. That new trick of his was really good and an effective attack. She turned to Yuki and smiled, "Kevin's really great, and he deals with so much. But he always thinks fast and works hard" She told her.

"Deals with a lot? What do you mean? Is a lot this "him" he talked about. What did he mean by that anyway?" Yuki asked Aura, referring to Kevin's subtle comment on his other side which Kevin never clarified it to her. Oliver remained silent as Yuki asked her question.

Ryker was partway hit, by the dive, as he turned to avoid it, only to be hit still, slightly. Ryker jumped backwards, landing on his heels, and raised his hands. "Ryker Punch!" He shouted as he ran forward, with his fist encased in an orange glow. He was actually considering to make this a catch phrase.

Meanwhile, in the main office, the phone rang. On the other line, was a superhero, looking for a certain student.

Kevin couldn't react quick enough as Ryker's fist slammed into his gut. Kevin was sent flying back, coughing on the ground before he got back up to his feet.

Darn it, not really much more I can do. He'll dodge if I jump again, and he knows of the tongue now. Acid spit is too dangerous for a spar. Maybe I should just...

What, give up? How dare you consider that! You want to insult your friend like that? He's giving you his best effort, you owe it to him to do the same.

Kevin groaned as that terrible voice reentered to speak in his head.

Back off, you are not gonna help.

Sure I will, I will allow you to fight at full power. Isn't that what you want? To be like Aura and Ryker?

Shut up!

Kevin shook his head before he would extend his tongue again, this time he would try to wrap it around Ryker's ankle to try and trip him.

Ryker was expecting a more noticeable. But it gave him a surprise. The air, below him was knocked down, and he fell on his back. He quickly stood up, and stretched his arms. "Nice moves," Ryker said, looking at Kevin, with smile.

"Eh, you should try and remind me. I'm not the best at remembering this stuff. And, well, Rio is... In a slightly delicate state. Aurrea can give you the speech she just gave the students if you want the full story. Anyway, I'm glad you're okay," Sky replied, turning his attention back to the fight.

Suddenly, near the corner of his sixth view (hard to explain a sense a human doesn't have, so just go along with it), he saw a small stream of radio waves coming into the island. After saying "Sorry, gotta dash", his form flowed into the office and, not being bothered to shift back into his human form, a small focused bit of wind held the receiver up, and he spoke into it. "Hello, this is the Core Of The Dragon Academy. How may I help you?"

"Ah, is this Sky? Good show. My name is Captain Rumble, and I am looking for a student named Ryker Williams. If it is alright with you, I would like to train with this student for a few days, because I feel, when he graduates, he might make a good sidekick, and apprentice." A man in a british accent said.

Sky tilted his head slightly. "Well, I suppose I can arrange that. I'll fly him out to wherever you want, and you can take care of the rest. Where would you like him?"

The wind truly was fickle, It couldn't stay in the same place for more than a few seconds. Wystria smiled wryly and continued to observe the fight. She approved of the way the implemented their fighting styles, Ryker being more inclined to counters, and Kevin make appropriate use of his tongue. It seemed to have been an intentional act to take advantage of Ryker's close-range combat style. She wondered how Kevin would fare against an opponent with greater range, or one who could quickly drag him into CQC. Wystria adopted a thoughtful expression as she continued to mentally critique their combat skills.

"T-thanks."

Kevin retracted his tongue and acknowledge Ryker's compliment before Kevin braced himself. Waiting for Ryker to make a move in the event he wanted to continue before Kevin would act. Oliver continued to watch from a distance, noting that Kevin seemed well in control of himself for now.

A dark gray and black blur whizzed through the school and stopped a few feet from Ryker and Kevin. An alien that resembled a bipedal cheetah in dark gray and black armor retracted the helmet on his visor showing his face and unusually purple eyes and grinned. "Ooh! Combat practice! Can I take him next?" He gestured to Ryker.

Aurrea sighed to herself as the students flowed out from hall, some already beginning to whisper. She knew not all of them would keep a secret... unless pressured to do so. But pressure was Rio's domain, and Rio was not with her right now. Luckily, other than the island already having minimal contact with hotel outside world in general, school had only just started literally that same day, so she had ample time to get this all settled over. So she hoped at least.

She mulled to herself for quite some time, before, after gradually becoming more and more hyper aware of the events around her, flicked an ear to the sound of sparring. Strange she thought to herself, standing before shifting her body to make it out the door, before returning to her massive form to gaze on Ryker and Kevin. She sat down at a distance, not that you wouldn't see here she was over twelve feet tall and glowing red, but simply so that she was removed enough to not disturb them.

Aurora smiled and watched Kevin and Ryker. To think all she'd been through today... And how far she's come as well.

"Aurora!"

Aura blinked and shook her head, what was that. She looked around but nobody else seemed to have heard it. "Rory! Quickly, please!"
Aura let out a small gasp, that was Definitley Sammy. She stood up frantically, "I- I need to go. I'll be back soon" She told Kevin and Ryker. She then rushed off into the school.

She found Samantha lying on the concrete of an outdoor courtyard, Elka crouched down beside her. Elka turned and let out a sigh of relief as she saw Aura. "She just fainted! She said something's there. It's... Calling to her for help!" Elka stuttered, her small panicky voice making Aura nervous. Sammy winced at the sight of Aura and gave her a huge hug, "Rory! It's them. They- They need help" Sammy cried, a scared look in her eyes. Aura hugged her tight. Sammy looked towards the forest side of the island and welped. "They said something about being trapped... and a forest!" She stuttered. Aura let out a small gasp and stroked Sammy's head reassuringly. "It'll be alri-" She stopped suddenly. When she'd felt the presence of the hounds, she'd felt something else... A kind of cold, but familiar feeling. Like there was something... someone there. Aura held Sammy by the shoulders and looked her straight in the eyes.

"I know where they are"

Sky tilted his head, feeling a small shift in the airspace. Glancing out of the window, he was impressed to see an absence of Ryker. Huh. That guy doesn't waste his time

Kevin felt Aura had been gone too long and decided to go check to see if she was alright. As Kevin walked, Oliver flew up to his left shoulder and Yuki walked beside him. Kevin shifted back into his regular form.

"You okay?" Yuki asked as Kevin turned to her.

"Yeah, just gonna see of Aura is okay. She looked quite alarmed when she left." Kevin explained. Yuki gave a nod of understanding as the group walked into the school to try and find Aura.

"Say Kevin. You said, your mother's a pro hero right?" Yuki asked, Kevin gave a smile.

"Indeed, the Cyber Champion. And one day I'll be a hero just like her...as soon as..." Kevin explained, his expression shifted from one of enthusiasm to somberness as he trailed off.

"As soon as, you master your power?" Yuki said, taking a guess at what Kevin meant. Oliver gave a nod.

"Indeed. He's made substantial progress, but still has a long way to go." Oliver explained.

"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll master your power. Perhaps some day, I'll even meet your mother. That would be cool to meet a real pro." Yuki said as Kevin smiled at Yuki.

"Sure, I'll let you know first whenever she decides to visit again." Kevin offered as Yuki gave a nod before the group continued to search for Aura in silence. Yuki having a single thought run through her mind all the while.

Don't worry Kevin, you'll see the full potential of your power much sooner than you think...

Aura rushed through the corridors, leading Sammy along by holding her hand. Sammy was whimpering under her breath, traumatised by the dreams she'd had. As she burst outside into the light, she ran straight into Kevin. She frantically shook her head and looked around her. "Kevin!" She cried quietly, "Have you seen Sky? Or Rio? Or Aurrea?" She asked.

Kevin took a moment to collect himself, Oliver knocked off his shoulder, before he faced Aura. Kevin heard Aura's question and thought it over.

"Well, I-I think I saw Sky watch me and Ryker battle. I think. Other than that I don't know." Kevin said, giving Aura an honest answer. Oliver flew back up on Kevin's shoulder and was about to scold Aura for being careless...before it saw the whimpering Sammy.

"Is your sister all right?" Oliver asked Aura. One might say Oliver was...concerned. Which was strange since outside of Kevin Oliver had shown little concern beyond general safety towards anyone else.

Aurrea frowned as she watched. Yes, the sparring went swimmingly, but of course, now things were starting to become quite concerning. Standing up, she walked over to the students, snaking her head to their level, looking on with concern. "Is something the matter here? The air here suddenly dropped a few degrees with all this shift in attitude."

"Actually, that may have been me," Sky added, materialising next to Aurrea. "You sound very worried. Is there a problem I should know about?"

Aura looked at Sky and Aurrea, then to the floor. "It's my- our parents" She said, "They're here, somewhere on this island. They've been talking to Samantha through dreams and visions. I- I need to find them!"

Sammy looked up at Oliver, her eyes big and scared. She walked over to him and jumped, attempting to grab him from Kevin's shoulder and hug him.

Under normal conditions, Oliver would have flown back, or told Kevin to move or something to avoid the Sammy's attempt to grab it.

Not this time.

Oliver allowed the girl to grab and hug him. Oliver sensed Sammy was scared, having grown up with Kevin long enough to know that feeling quite well, so he allowed himself to be used as a tool of comfort.

Kevin meanwhile listened to what Aura had to say before deciding to speak up.

"I'll help you. If your parents are here, we'll find them." Kevin offered, wanting to help his friend. Yuki turned to Kevin, an idea having popped in her own head.

"Why don't you call your mom here? Certainly this Cyber Champion would have some gadget that could help with the search?" Yuki suggested as Kevin smiled at his newfound friend.

"That's a good idea!" Kevin said as he revealed a watch, which was in truth a communicator that had been a gift his mother gave him should he need to contact her for anything. Kevin went to work to open the line and get a hold of his mother.
