All you do is pick an original sprite (or more if you want), save it to your computer and use a program like paint and change the sprite, pixel by pixel, until you have what you want.

The hair seemed completely normal to me. If it looks like Dawn's Hat to you, then it looks like Dawn's Hat to you. That does not make it bad hair. And more importantly, you should be proud of how well she has progressed. That sprite is proof that Pokefreak is getting better and better at spriting. I'm proud of how she's grown in her skills. I remember that day she came asking someone to turn a picture into a sprite, then soon after I was kind enough to attempt it for her, she started her own spriting, and did quite good for a first start. Now she is doing better then ever and maybe even better then I could ever do.

Taking this awfully personal, aren't you? I never said Pokefreak was a terrible spriter. I don't even pay attention to who posts what sprite and, no, I don't remember when she first came here. I judge each sprite on its own merits. Someone asked for feedback, and I gave it. Perhaps I was being overly-critical, but it's of the sprite and not the spriter. All I want is to help improve the sprite.

If we have a difference of opinion on what makes a "good" sprite, that's fine. If you want to attack me for having a different opinion, get a talk show. Pokefreak doesn't have to listen to what I say if she disagrees with me or thinks I'm asking for the unreasonable. If you think I'm being unreasonable, you're certainly free to say so. If you think there's something wrong with how I critique sprites, then tell me how to improve. Don't tell me I'm being a bad person and attempt to appeal to my sympathy for continuing to offer advice rather than just saying "Good enough" and walking away.

I am not here to stroke egos or put anyone down. If I think a sprite can be improved, I will say so and, to the best of my ability to do so, make suggestions on how. If someone asks for feedback, I will give it. I will not simply pat them on the head and say "Good job. Have a biscuit."

Have you considered what Rose (the middle image is Rose1.png) is doing with her right arm? Dawn is holding onto the strap of her bag, but I see nothing in Rose's hand. You could put a prop in there, either made from scratch or stolen from another sprite, or replace the arm with another, like a flipped copy of her other arm.

I just made this one, and I love it! It's the arms of the male P/D Psychic, the body of...someone..can't remember his name...the head of the waiter, and the hair is recolored to Cyrus' hair color...

I REALLY like this one!!!!

ummm, that's just a (unedited) lass with an (unedited) umbreon... sorry to say, but the prospects of that getting in are pretty weak at best... if you DID something with the sprite (and took out the pokemon) it would stand a better chance of getting in...

Just a question but what kind of art site do you use to make sprites

go here http://forums.pokecharms.com/smf/index.php?topic=1228.msg7909#msg7909 to get sprite bases to use in making sprites, or just scratch your own... just make sure not to use sprites that aren't on this page (other users hand made sprites) or i think it's an automatic ban, if memory serves

what?!?! i'm assuming you are asking if there was a max sprite to put on a trainer card? if so, there is a max sprite, but it hasn't been authorized for the trainer card maker yet...
