Introducing the first Branch Leader. No need to accept this one, I'm only posting it here so people have an idea of who he is.
Name: Saito Karoshi, the Gorgon Brother
Personality: Probably the kindest and most reasonable of the Branch Leaders, Saito goes out of his way to befriend his subordinates instead of running his business impersonally. He cares for the demons working under him, knowing full well that they have their own interests and that initially, there are things they wouldn't do. But kindness isn't weakness; Saito is a skilled communicator who's fully devoted to his mission, grooming those in his employ for greater things and allaying any compunctions they might have. He's a personable guy, something like an older brother or a more experienced coworker, who's seen the darkness of all the Red Demon's branches and come back to head one of its tamer operations—the Suicide Squad.
Appearance: He's 5'10" with pale skin, a thin build and sleek, black hair, dressing like a secret agent in a black suit and tie, white undershirt, dark shades, and shoes whose tips conceal blades.
Blood Demon Art:
Gorgoneion - His eyes are permanently a blinding white that turns whomever looks into them to stone, so he always hides them behind a pair of tinted glasses.
Techniques: Exceedingly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, Saito's kicks are strong enough to shatter stone. He's a trained fighter who makes the most out of his physique, plenty dangerous without his Blood Demon Art, but he readily removes his shades at the start of a fight if it's to the death. Saito isn't one to take unnecessary risks. He's quick and precise with his two knives, holding them in a reverse grip and accurately slitting his enemies' throats.
Other: I don't think I need to write detailed backstories for Branch Leaders going forward, since I doubt it'll be relevant anyway.
Backstory: As a human, he was a master sculptor whose works were coveted by powerful businessmen and government officials alike, some of whom were underworld figures who threatened him with death if he didn't meet a deadline. He wanted his works to be there for everyone to see, not just the upper echelons of society. But the renowned artisan quickly found himself slave to wealthy, demanding clients, working around the clock and hardly taking care of himself. When he was at the brink of death and desperate to finish his current piece, a demon visited and turned him, saving his life. Having seen a demon's kindness firsthand, Saito embraced the notion of coexistence and easily assimilated into the Red Demon upon a chance encounter with the Mystery Eater. He began his employment in the tamest branch at the time, gradually working his way up and feeling for his surroundings in the black tunnel that was the organization, until it didn't seem so dark anymore and he ventured further in. After experiencing the syndicate in its entirety, Saito was designated Branch Leader of the Suicide Squad, perfecting a method of discreet killing and dotting the mountains of Japan with stone statues. Having fulfilled his selfish desire, he now cares only about his branch's smooth operation and his subordinates' survival.
@Clite of Dragonbow Do you mind if I timeskip Shirade to where Saito is, so you don't have to spend a post traveling there? Like starting off my post as if Saito is already talking to him.
@kyuukestu Your plan was to lure Vero to the docks, where she currently is, and maybe use seawater to blind her. Perhaps we could do something with a ship's light in the distance or a lighthouse? Don't know. The best strategy (that allows me to introduce Sena) might be to charge Vero all at once, dodge her oncoming attacks, and corner her on the plank, right before Sena comes in and finishes the job. No rush on a post anyway,
@OmnipotentOnion is at a church retreat.
