Eternal Sands

(Stadium is just off the coast of the city, it's on it's own little island thing.)

How did Cody get here? It was barely eight in the morning, and he had ran out of the Hotel, and to the battle area. It was a large stadium, and all the battles were going to be held there. The field could change, set up much like the Pokemon Leagues. The stands had begun to fill up with excited tourists, and battle fans. All the trainers wishing to participate were to go onto the field, and over to a little table. The line wasn't very long, as it was early. This was also one of the rare occasions Silver behaved.

Approaching the table, Cody noticed a sign explaining the rules, in simple black letters.

1. Each trainer uses Two Pokemon
2.No switching in or out
3. Refrain from using Explosion or Selfdestruct

"Hello sir, can I help you?" It was a man at the registration table, his hair was short and dark, like his eyes.

"Yes, I'd like to register." Cody said, pulling out his Pokegear for the information

"Sure, if I could just see that..." He took the gear out of Cody's hands, and punched a few things into the laptop. "Here you go, tourney begins at one." He handed the Pokegear back to Cody.

"Thank-you." Cody and Silver walked back to the outside of the stadium. Instead of traveling back to the main island, they would find a nice place to sit outside the stadium, and get some pizza from a stand later on.

(Stadium will be better described at tourney's start)

"Hey Cody! CODY!!" Chibi shouted as she saw Cody's familiar form in front of her. She had woken up at seven thirty (most unusual of her) and registered for the tournament early. Having wandered aimlessly around after eating breakfist, Chibi and Vyala had already had a rough sketch of the town in their minds. Everyone was excited about the tournament and a lot of people had registered.

Now after having another cup of coffee, Chibi had spotted her friend from last night. She ran up behind him. "How ya doin?" She asked. "Have you already entered the tournament?" Vyala barked at Silver and looked at him in a friendly way.

"Yea...tournament..signed...tired....." Cody mumbled. Silver, on the other hand was full of energy. He leaped off of the ground, into the air. He did a double blackflip, and landed on Chibi's shoulder. After staring at her for a second, he gave a playful peck on the cheek, and leaped off once more, this time to the ground. He got back into breakdance mode, and there was no stopping him.

"Stupid monkey.." Cody sighed with a smile. "So, you signed up Chibi?" Cody asked, trying to get his energy back.

"Alright, I think that was a good warm up." said Brian wiping sweat from his forehead with the bottom of his shirt. At 6 in the morning he had woken up and started an early morning training session with his Pokemon as a warm up for the day's tournament. According to Brian a Pokemon is only as strong as its trainer, so he trained along side them. That included a one-on-one no-holds-back sparring match with Axel.

Brian walked across the bridge that connected the main island where they had been staying to the stadium island. Once there, he signed up at registration where he saw into two familiar individuals.

"Cody! Chibi!" he called out running up to his friends. Poor Cody looked completely drained, while Silver was breakdancing as usual. Chibi was another one who looked fully awake with Vyala in her arms. "Are you guys ready for this?" he asked.

Kalseng had a pleasent conversation with the receptionist. She had found his reservations already made by professor Rowan, and gave him his battle-card ID. Professor Rowan wanted to keep tabs on him now that he was constantly battling in torunaments or traveling overseas. Kalseng nodded and waved to the receptionist, and steared somewhat away from the group of travelers. His Electrike was kind of uncomfortable around large crouds, and it hugged Kalseng's pant leg, walking just fast enough to keep up with his trainer, but not fast enough to go forward and get lost.

Kalseng eventually found his group of two travelers, Cody and Chibi, when a third trainer appeared. Brian? It was! Kalseng made a sort of mad dash for the new trainer, his Electrike barking in protest. Kalseng came to a stop in front of the group, chipper for the morning. He smiled at them all, his eyes sparkling with the brand new day. "Good morning everyone!" Kalseng chimed. He turned to Brian, and gave him a huge, all-embracing hug. "Good to see you!" Kalseng pulled away, and saw Silver. Kalseng made a fist, and hit the Aipom square in the chest. "I know that those Aipom-hand-shaped marks on my back were NOT made by anyone but you, Silver!" Kalseng fumed quietly as his electrike softly laughed in delight.

(Okay, to keep this alive, we're gonna fast forward to round one of the tournament. Er....I choose....er..KAL! YOu're fighting some random trainer named Isabelle. If nobody else wants to, I'll control 'er.)

"Welcome, trainers, fans and family! In the next five minutes, the first battle will have begun! The first round of this tourney will be a match of Kalseng Audor, and Isabelle Velincer! If each contestant could please make their way to that machine over there, and get ready for the fight!" It was the master of ceramonies. He was an older gentleman, with graying and fading hair, wearing a neat black suit. He was standing in the shade of an umbrella, as to avoid getting overheated. The large stadium was built to hold around one thousand people. Walking throughout the stands were vendors, selling drinks, and snacks.

"Well, go on Kal!" Cody, Kal, Chibi, and Brian had all gotten seats together (Don't sue me for the auto there) Silver, despite being socked in the gut, leaped up to support his old friend. When the first trainer had reached the field, the crowd cheered. Isabelle, being around 17, was approaching the stand. Her long brown hair seemed to flow behind her head a bit, and the people close enough could see her green eyes twinkle in excitement. Her shirt wasn't loose, but it wasn't skin-tigh either. It was dark purple, and over top of that she wore a denim vest. She was wearing khaki caprees, fit for the ever-present summer weather. When she got to the machine the MC had pointed out, the field began to change. It opened up at the bottom, and out came a barren field. It was all dirt, and several rocks. It was about 20 feet down before hitting machine again, so dig was usable.

"Here." She coldly handed 3 capsules to the registration lady, each one containing a Pokemon. The Lady took them gently in her delicate hands, and placed them onto the machine. They glowed for a moment, and soon both big-screen displays had changed. Before this had occured, they were changin between advertisements, but they now showed a blue screen, a yellow line down the middle. On the left side, a picture of Isabelle's face, and on the right, Kalsengs. One by one, the three Pokemon Isabelle had chosen to use appeared. A Solrock, A Dusknoir, and a Glalie. Many people in the stands had begun to assume she was from Hoenn, and she was.

"You coming, coward?" She called out as she took her place on the field, holding a Luxury ball in her left hand.

Kalseng glanced around after having so much happening, but he was very much used to it. He regained his stream of conscious thought, and took a step up onto the stadium's platform. Kalseng shook his head a little bit, his own way of straightening out his hair. Electrike slowly stepped up on stage, shaking a little bit with timidity. It was almost sad, how very little the puppy-like pokemon was afraid of new people. It stayed right next to Kalseng's feet, but not close enough to be stepped on. Kalseng approached the machine that was an apparent pokeball scanner, and placed a dusk ball, heavy ball, and pokeball on the machine.

Electrike barked in protest as his pokeball was placed in the slot, trying not to draw too much attention. Kalseng laughed a little bit in response, and picked up the small pokemon. "It's okay, little guy," Kalseng spoke with soft, soothing words. "You'll do great, I know it." Kalseng petted the pokemon's head, and it returned the pet with a nuzzle to Kalseng's hand. His display on the screen was still an old picture for no reason other than the fact that he hadn't taken a new picture in ages. Kalseng rolled his eyes as the three pokemon images appeared on the screen. A sealeo, honchkrow, and electrike took their places on the screen, each a generic, backgroundless image.

Kalseng took all three balls back into his hands, and reclipped them onto his belt. He then turned to the pokemon trainer on the opposite side, and a smile graced his face. "Go ahead, make your move!" Kalseng ordered, reaching for one of his pokeballs.

"Alright then," She spun the Luxury ball on the index finger of her left hand. With her cooling green eyes staring down her oppenent, she called out, "Go! Prova!" Mid spin, the ball flew off of Isabelle's finger, and continued spinning as it traveled to the stadium ground.

"Mhmmzhh" The orange Pokemon said as it made it's appearence.

"Alright, Prova, stand ground!" She called out, "Kalseng is it? Well, go on then, coward!"

The girl's Solrock was floating, eager for the battle at hand. A slight breeze blew some of the dirt around, and the sun suddenly grew brighter. As she had released the Solrock, it had used Sunny Day.The crowd was hushed, ready for this battle to begin.

"Go Kal!" Cody suddenly yelled out from the stands

Kalseng heard Cody hollering from the stands, and he turned to wave. "Thanks... Thanks..." He muttered. He then turned back to the battle, and reached the heavy ball he had registered. "Come on," Kalseng called as the ball split open. "Sealeo! Let's do this!" He said, throwing his fist in the air. Sealeo appeared on the stage, and the ball retreated to Kalseng's hand. The pokemon spun on its back tail, barking happily and clapping its hands together. "Alright! It's battle time!" Kalseng said, pointing at the Solrock. "I'd say 'Ladies first,' but you've already gone first. So, Sealeo! Water Pulse!" The pokemon reared its head, and its body glowed a certain blue aura as a ring of water appeared in the air.

"Sealeo!" The pokemon called as the ring expanded. It quickly grew into a mid-air wave of water, comparable to that of a sea's wave. It was fierce, and tendrils of water lashed out as it flew threw the air, dampening the stage as well.

"Clever" Isabelle mumbled. Kalseng could tell she had used Sunny Day. "Well, since you already know, no point in hiding it! Prova, Solarbeam!" The girl's eyes lit up. For a moment, the stage was seemingly still. The Meteorite Pokemon was focused, and the yellow flares around it's body began glowing with the suns energy. With another "Mmhzmm" The energy was focused into a solid beam of pure, yellow solar energy. As the beam was launched, Prova was pushed backwards from the force it exerted. The attack was not aimed specifically at the Sealo, more of at the Water Pulse.

As the beam traveled through the air, heating up the battle field in the process, it tore right through the large pulse of water. Because of this contact, the pulse lost it's form, and fell apart. Some of the water was evaporated by the beam, and the rest fell to the ground. The beam continued forward, stirring up the dirt as it went, and hit a rock adjacent to the Sealo.

"Use Cosmic Power." Isabelle said cooly. Prova's "eyes" glew a purple color, and the rest of it's body followed the trend. The sun seemed to glimmer brighter for a moment, before Solrock returned to it's natural color. It was now more defended.

"Have at it then." She waved off to Kalseng.

"Wow, sweet." Chibi said as the Solarbeam ripped through the air. "Not that I'm rooting for her." She said to avoid angry glares. Vyala had wiggled out of her arms and into her lap, she was stretched out so every rust-colored hair that made up her pelt absorbed the sun. She stole a glance at the pokemon Isabelle had.

Solrock, Dusknoir, and Glalie. She could probably beat her with two of her pokemon, provided the circumstances were right. She missed Isabelle's next order, but the purplish glow of the Solrock told her what it was.

"If you ask me, Kal will have a challenge here." Chibi commented, Vyala was too sleepy from the sun's rays to make any comment, but she rustled her tails in understanding. Chibi leaned forward the tiniest bit and blinked her green eyes, sharing the anticipation of the rest of the tournament's crowd.

"Yea, that was a pretty impressive beam...." Cody mumbled. And, the attack wasn't even for offense. If that was the kind of defensive moves Isabelle used, he couldn't help but fear a bit for Kal. "Kal needs to hurry up and make a decision!" Cody added when Chibi said he would be facing a challenge.

~~

"If you're going to take this long, I'm going to go ahead and attack. Coward." Isabelle sneered, looking at the crowd beyond Kal. This is what she lived for. Crowds, gaping in anticipation. Crowds, waiting. Crowds, silently cheering. Crowds, wishing she would stop thinking and pull off the next attack.

"Use a Shadow Ball. Nothing fancy." She said. The sun-like Pokemon began storing dark energy around the flares that covered it, and it soon converged into a ball. It was a ball made of shadow, shadows from within the sol (No, that's not a typo. Sol is some other language for sun. It's a pun) It was launched across the waste of a battle field, stirring up the air and dirt as it flew for the Sealo. Wisps of shadow seemed to peel off as it traveled, as expected for a fast moving attack.

Brian suddenly jumped out of his seat.

"You can do it! Beat her! Kalseng! Kalseng! He's our man! If he can't do it no one can!" he shouted loudly shaking his arms from side to side, careful not to elbow any of the other spectators. Some of which gave him angry glares while others were trying their best not to laugh at this rediculous behavior.

"Kalseng! Sealeo! Defeat them!" added Axel.

Brian took his seat again. "Kalseng can take care of himself. He'll be fine." he responded to a comment made by Chibi. It was very unusual for him to choke up like this though. Cody was right, Kal needed to make a move, and quick.

"Use a Shadow Ball. Nothing fancy." commanded Isabelle. Solrock began drawing in the shadows around the arena and launched it at Sealeo.

"Defense!" shouted Brian jumping out of his seat again.

Kalseng lazily lifted his head towards the young trainer and her approaching Shadow Ball, shaking the drowsiness from his head. He had drifted off slightly, letting sleep overcome his tired mind. While he had been dreaming of his times up in Stark Mountain, the opposing trainer had commanded her pokemon to use an attack. Her pokemon fired a Solar Beam at Sealeo, which had simply blasted a hole in the wave of water that had been crashing towards her pokemon. The beam proceeded to shoot through Sealeo's attack and strike a rock near Sealeo. The rock barely even looked singed after all of the power from the attack had been used up. The actual process of eliminating a Water Pulse and then trying to strike an object was a task only achievable by a Venusaur, if even that. Kalseng paid the attack no second thought as the trainer commanded her pokemon to use Cosmic Power. The pokemon instantly felt the effects and became more well protected. Kalseng couldn't have cared less. She'd need more than a little defense boost to help her now. The trainer then called something out in a rather shrill voice. Her pokemon gathered u pa bit of shadow-esque energy in front of itself and formed a tight ball of energy. The ball was then launched in Kalseng's direction. It was a Shadow Ball.

It didn't seem fancy, but it was all Kalseng needed to turn this battle around. The Ball was gathering shadows from everything it could find as it sped towards Kalseng's pokemon, who was lazily yawning like his trainer as the attack approached. The shadows were peeling off of the ground that they occupied, joining the spherical attack. It seemed very powerful, but experienced ghost and dark trainers could see the attack for what it was from a mile away. The ball itself was absorbing the light that surrounded it, transforming that light into shadows. That was giving the attack the illusion of immensity. Kalseng realized what this trainer was about. She launched an attack that looked large and powerful, when it was really a small ball of slightly powered up shadows. It was an attack that compensated for its power with an illusion of size, and Kalseng knew of an attack that would certainly throw her off guard and avoid the attack all together.

"Sealeo, use Swagger to dodge the illusory attack." Kalseng commanded, lifting his head up as a cocky smirk appeared on his face. His pokemon nodded, and pushed himself nonchalantly out of the way. The pokemon seemed to have little interest in the battle at all, as if the opposing pokemon were nothing but a mere distraction. The attack itself landed in front of Kalseng, creating a small crater no larger than a tennis ball in the ground. "Wow," Kalseng said with a heavily sarcastic tone to his voice. "I can almost punch as hard as your pokemon's Shadow Ball. I'm impressed." Kalseng may have ordered his pokemon to use Swagger, but it sometimes helped if the trainer himself added a bit to his pokemon's attack.

"Now before Ms. Sunshine over there can have a chance to attack, if you can call it that, use Sheer Cold." Kalseng added a breathy tone to the attack name, letting everyone in the crowd hear the attack's chilling name. His pokemon turned back towards Kalseng, giving a look of confirmation. The attack rarely hit its target, but that wasn't what Kalseng worried about. Kalseng may have even been banking on that one flaw. Kalseng gave a nod to his Sealeo, who then shakily turned back to the battle. The pokemon sighed deeply, and then inhaled with the same depth. A blue glow enveloped the pokemon, emanating an eerie blue glow. The pokemon then snapped its eyes open, which had taken on the same glow as its body. It let out a bellowing call, and a wave of frigid cold washed over the field.

Kalseng smirked once again as he watched the puddles of water on the ground react to the cold. They immediately expanded, forming large pillars of jutting ice, covering the field in spikes and columns of ice. The wave harmlessly passed over Solrock, doing no damage at all. Kalseng had set the field for one of his favorite moves. Sealeo turned back to his trainer, panting heavily. The poor pokemon was nearly exhausted from all of the energy it had just used. "Seeing as how you used three attacks while I waited, I find it only fair that I use one more." Kalseng informed the trainer. Kalseng then kneeled down to the ground and aimed his voice at his pokemon. "Sealeo, you're one move away from using rest, but you have to follow this next command, okay?" Kalseng asked his pokemon. Sealeo nodded invigoratingly, and then turned back to the opposing trainer. "Sealeo! Use Iron Tail!" Kalseng then lowered his voice to confuse the opposition. "Bounce off of the ice for more speed and power!" Kalseng said. Sealeo's eyes lit up, and he jumped onto the closest Ice pillar jutting out of the ground. A silvery-white glow overtook his tail, and Sealeo used his tail to propel himself to the next pillar, nearing the Solrock.

The next jump took Sealeo right in front of a confused Solrock, and the next launched him straight at it. Sealeo called out and swung his tail right at the Solrock, who let out a call of dismay. Sealeo fell to the ground after striking the opposition hard, and jumped behind another section of pillars. "Sealeo! Use Rest!" Kalseng commanded. The pokemon gave an exhausted nod, and let its head droop. A subtle, green glow enveloped the pokemon, who was now drifting off happily in his sleep. His muscles relaxed and loosened, and his mind turned off all but his subconscious.

"Crap..."Isabelle whispered. It wasn't her nature, to be this angry. Of course, even the nicest of people could be changed to stone during a battle. Isabelle was one of those types. "You little...." she sighed, as she watched the battlefield transform around her. Kalseng had seen past her ploy, the Shadowball wasn't meant to be strong, just enough to scare him, which, apperently, it hadn't.
It made about a tennis ball sized crater at Kal's feet.

"What's that stupid fat ball of blubber doing now!?" She cursed angrily under her breath. Apperently, balls of fat can bounce around off of ice pillars without crushing them. It was bouncing, up, around, and right next to Solrock. It wasn't until it was already too late did Isabelle realize the true intent.

With a thud, the glowing silver tail of Sealo hit Solrock, dead center it seemed. The Meteorite Pokemon slammed into the ground, causing a nearby ice pillar to crumble. As the cloud of dust rose, Isabelle saw Sealo using rest, and a crater. The crater was, no doubt, five feet deep.

"Dammit...." she sighed, once again pulling out the black Luxury Ball, "Return, Solrock." As she returned the sun-shaped Pokemon into it's capsule, she began to think how she could handle the next round. With using only two Pokemon, she had to choose between the three she had registered, Dusknoir or Glalie. Dusknoir would be much easier, and that's what she needed. And besides, an Ice type agaisnt an Ice type isn't all that much fun.

"DUSKNOIR!!" She called out, whipping a Dusk Ball from her denim vest. It's black and green colors clashed agaisnt the blue sky, and before it had even hit the ground, exploded in a shroud of dark energy. Dusknoir, was her most powerful Pokemon. Heronly concern was that the Gripper Pokemon, who was now floating atop a pillar of ice, might kill the boys Sealo.

"Ominous Wind." She demanded simply. For this combo to work, they needed a bit of luck. Dusknoior looked pleased, Isabelle could tell by the look in his eye. From his high spot atop the pillar, his eye shut, and the antanne atop his head began to glow a purple color. Around it, a vortex of sorts began to form, and it was slowly expanding. Soon enough, the eerie purple wind had seemingly cloaked the sky. "Let's go then." She smiled. This might just work, she thought to herself.

Dusknoir's eye opened, and in an instant, the wind picked up, thrashing through the battlefield. All but the furthest pillars out crumbled to the ground from the ghostly wind. With this attack came a moan from the audience, as the sound of it was none too pleasant. As it began to slow down, it became more of a mist, and it lightly covered the battlefield, giving it a haunted feel. "We're in luck" Isabelle was smiling, but surpressing a grin. Dusknoir had gained a power boost from using Ominous Wind, a rare, but greatly coveted side attack.

"Your turn." She said, with a slight overconfidence. Dusknoir had floated back down to slightly aobe the field, as his pillar had collapsed with the others. Shards of ice that were not crushed, or had melted, scattered the field of now scarred rocks.

Chibi ducked as a chuck of ice the size of a ping pong flew at her head. It struck her seat and rolled off to the floor. So far, Kalseng's Sealeo had effectively changed the battlefield and smashed Isabelle's Solrock to the earth. She saw Isabelle puled out two pokeball and knew the Solrock was down. She tossed a green Dusk Ball into the air, which opened and spat out a purplish substance, which formed into a Dusknoir. "Dusknoir..." Chibi murmured thoughtfully stroking the tuft of fur between Vyala's ears. Vyala mumbled something sleepily, so slurred that Chibi couldn't make it out.

The Ominous Wind used by the Dusknoir had boosted its power, which was the cause of the sickly purple mist and the eerie feeling the air was layered with when the wind died down. Isabelle was was smiling in triumph, and her Dusknoir had found a place to float around as he waited for Kalseng's move. Chibi leaned back and watched Isabelle under half-closed eyelids, keeping her gaze on the battle, yet thinking of other things. She tried to figure Isabelle out, for she did prove to be a very intresting trainer; the sounds of the crowds around her seemed oddly muted as her focus narrowed down to two things in the world: the battle and her thoughts.

(Sucks, but I can't really do anything

[[OOC: Oh, look at this! Twice in two days! *gasp*]]

The ghost seemed to lack any of the typical ghost attributes. It was more concerned with intimidation than stealth and surprise. This meant that it was more interested in hurting Sealeo with a straightforward attack rather than a Shadow Sneak, leaving Kalseng many opportunities for an awkward recovery. Regardless, it was about time that the kid gloves came off. In theory, he should be able to switch out to Honchkrow and take Dusknoir down with a solid Sucker Punch. But it would be more HP-effective to let Sealeo take the hits it could and then switch out upon fainting. Kalseng didn't have a lot of time to make the call before Dusknoir started initiating the HP-effective plan. Kalseng soon steeled his resolve and let the Ominous Wind hit. If Sealeo didn't wake up, it would be better to send out Honchkrow and hold Sealeo on reserve.

The odd colored vortex let out a gust of wind, slicing through most of the ice pillars, and striking a heavily sleeping Sealeo. The pokemon was stricken by the wind and tossed over by Kalseng, still unconscious. Kalseng moaned and took out a Heavy Ball and a Dusk Ball. "Sealeo, return." Kalseng ordered. He aimed the Heavy Ball at Sealeo, and a beam of red light shot out. The light enveloped Sealeo entirely before returning to the pokeball with Sealeo in tow. Kalseng shrunk the ball and re-clipped it to his belt. He then kissed his Dusk Ball on the top and winged it out into battle. The ball split at the top of its arc and let out another red light identical to the one that Sealeo was enveloped in. The light took the shape of a large bird and then disintegrated, leaving a large, black crow in the middle of the field.

"Isabelle, meet Honchkrow." Kalseng said. The bird picked up on the intimidation cue and spread its wings to their fullest length, showing a large, intimidating figure to the opposing trainer and her pokemon. "Oh look, he's pleased to meet you." Kalseng said with a falsely cheery tone. The bird pokemon then took to the skies and cawed once again, eyes trained on the Gripper Pokemon. Kalseng rolled his eyes at the overzealous pokemon for fear that this prologue to the attack would lessen its effectiveness. "Honchkrow, use Swagger." The pokemon let out a noise of understanding and proceeded to make itself look bigger. It fluffed out its feathers and spread out its wings once again, this time with a smirk on its face. A bit of confusion always helped turn the tide of the battle. And now that the enemy was confused, it would be even easier to use the next attack.

"Honchkrow, use Night Slash." Kalseng said slyly. His pokemon cawed in comprehension and looked menacingly at his opponent. The pokemon's wings glowed a dark purple color as it prepared to attack. It then began to caw loudly again, trying to intimidate the opponent as much as possible. A moment of tension took the field immediately before Honchkrow attacked. The bird pokemon flew as quickly and as accurately as it could, a trail of dark purple light trailing behind the movement of its wings. It seemed to be a blur as it neared the confused ghost pokemon, its wings powerful blades of dark energy.

"Rather amusing that you think it would be that easy." Isabelle snickered, flicking her brown hair out of her face. "Now then, Dusknoir, use Gravity, pull that bird out of the sky!" She was enthralled at this sudden stroke of brilliance. The Gripper Pokemon heard the order, and his single eye began to glow a deep purple shade, and looked upward. The purple mist still hung over the battlefield, an immidiate advantage for the ghost. As his eye continued to glow, it spread across his whole body. The glow quickly shot out, envoloping the battlefield in a purple dome of sorts.

Without a moment to lose, flight was made impossible, and Kalseng's Pokemon fell to the ground, unable to continue flying. "Well, that was lucky, what with his confusion..." Isabelle sighed, "Will you listen? Ice Beam." She said cooly. The Gripper Pokemon nodded in acknowledgement, and began freezing the water in the air around him, creating a ball of ice-energy in front of his hands. It launched, but instead of going for Honchcrow, it went up and above, to where it had been moments ago.

"Oh well, can't win 'em all...." Isabelle sighed, "And I don't think this'll be one of those times..."

"This is getting somehwhat intense....and this fog is rather annoying..." Cody sighed, speaking neither directly to Brian nor Chibi.

"Mmmm waht? Oh right the fog." Chibi murmured as Cody's voice snapped her out of her half-dreamy thoguhts. Indeed, the fog did prevent them from seeing what was going on, but wasn't that exactly what Isabelle wanted. "Don't you think Kal is getting a little too cocky?" Chibi asked suddenly, the fog didn't impair her vision, and she heard Kal's way-too-confident tone of voice. He would be getting a nasty suprise if Isabelle did win.

Isabelle, she used Gravity so fast and without a moment's hestitation. Chibi stole a glance at the screen showing the trainers and their pokemon. Was Isabelle waiting for Kal to send Honchkrow out? Chibi stopped stroking Vyala and this suddenly thought, and she smiled a small smile. Smart, very smart. Her free hand drummed on the sides of her seat and she began stroking Vyala again. "Hey Cody, or Brian." Chibi spoke again, in a distant voice that indicated that she was voincing her thoughts aloud. "Do you think Isabelle wanted Kal to send out his Honchkrow?"

"Wouldn't be suprised, she seems a capable battler..." Cody sighed, glancing at Chibi before returning his focus back to the battle. "It's only two Pokemon per battle, these are the last for both of 'em."

Cody admired how quickly the Dusknoir could pull off Gravity so quickly, even while it was under the influence of Swagger. Some of the ice pillars still stood, but when Gravity took affect, cascades of water fell off of the top.

"Pomoi!Pompom!Ai!" Silver stood up on his tail, cheering. For who, however, Cody couldn't be sure.

"Her timing was perfect though, wouldn't you agree, Chibi?" Cody half-spoke. His eyes were still peeled to the battle. "Even if she hadn't been trying to, it was still....almost perfect...." He sighed. Perfect was not a word Cody liked to use, but none other seemed to do this scenario justice.

"Mmhmm. But that's what I'm saying," Chibi replied in her dreamy voice. "Her timing was almost too perfect, it was almost as if she was waitng for Kal to send out Honchkrow so she could change the tide of the battle with her Dusknoir."

Silver cheered from Cody's shoulder, Vyala cracked open a golden eye and shot him an extremely annoyed glare. She nestled her head closer to Chibi to block out the sounds of the crowds.

"If this is the last pokemon for the both of them, then Kal had better pull off some miracle move if he hopes to win." Chibi once again distantly voiced her thoughts out loud. "This may be sort of off-topic, but how long have you know Kal?" She asked Cody suddenly.

With a thud, Silver hit the bench, via Cody hand. The Aipom glared at his trainer, then decided it wasn't worht it, and sat upon his shoulder once more. He nodded each time Chibi spoke, still gazing intently at the momentarily paused battle.

"How long have you known Kal?" Cody was suddenly asked by Chibi.

"Oh..uhm...I've lost count of hoow long, honestly. I remember when I met him though....." Cody sighed, remembering the Festival of Stars,

"It was several years ago, at this thing called the Festival of Stars, I think it was in Johto....that's when we met Brian too." Cody laughed, "We've known each other for too long. Guess that didn't help too much, did it?'

Kalseng dropped his head, half in amazement, half in sheer joy. When was the last time someone had battled him like this? When was his last challenge? The last time he had to steel himself up, that's for sure. Kalseng gave a deep sigh as the battle became more intense, letting himself relax and tense up at the same time. He seemed taller as he held himself straighter. His face seemed to change as well, becoming alien and stone cold. His gaze seemed to pierce through Isabelle, staring straight at her soul. Kalseng was stone cold battling now. Something clicked inside of him when that Gravity attack hit. Something furious, something angry, and Kalseng embraced it. He was mad now. That Dusknoir was going down.

"Honchkrow. Evade." Kalseng commanded, his voice demanding and powerful. His pokemon quickly moved out of the way with a flap of its wings towards the right. It didn't fly, but the wind moved it out of the way. The Ice Beam struck right where Honchkrow would have been, erecting a small pillar of ice that might have come to Kalseng's chin at its tallest point. It didn't bother Kalseng one bit. After all, it didn't hit his pokemon.

"Pysch Up and Dark Pulse in tandom. Now." Kalseng was furious at this point. Psych Up would switch the stat changes, but it also supplied a bridge between pokemons' minds. This would allow the perfect spot for a strong Dark Pulse to take the brain over entirely. Honchkrow didn't even hesitate as she opened the bridge between their minds. A white glow covered Dusknoir as she concentrated, making a slight beacon through the fog. A white tendril of power reached out from the bird pokemon until it wrapped around Dusknoir. The deal was sealed then. Isabelle was going to lose a pokemon that day. Dusknoir would be gone. Dusknoir's mind let Honchkrow trade up the Special Attack boost for nothing, adding more power to the attack that was coming.

And then it happened. The white glow surrounding Honchkrow quickly became one of an evil, sadistic purple color that threatened to attack anyone that touched it. The white tendril was soon covered by black extensions of power that crawled their way up to the ghost type pokemon on the other end. Dusknoir was soon overcome by the same sickly black and purple color that covered both Honchkrow and the bridge between their minds. The attack then moved to Dusknoir's mind and soul, threatening to destroy that pokemon's very self. The attack began to wreak havoc on Dusknoir, destroying most mental sentience as it progressed through the pokemon. The Dark Pulse then did something Kalseng didn't expect. It pushed itself out of Dusknoir physically. The ring forced itself to go through Dusknoir's outer shell, until it had split from the pokemon's body all together. It moved outwards and expanded, eliminating the fog as it went. The pulse disintegrated as it got higher, until it was nothing more than a few black particles floating in the sky.

Kalseng couldn't help but laugh. It was too perfect. An ultimate come around like that was hard to accomplish nowadays, and even harder when faced against an attack that was an advantage both statistically and typically. His laugh undoubtedly reached the ears of the crowd, and most likely to those of his friends as well. Kalseng put his hand to his forehead, his fingers prodding into the roots of his bangs. Kalseng soon after stopped laughing and looked out towards Isabelle and her pokemon expectantly. "How does he fare, trainer?" Kalseng asked, an eerie smile still splitting his face.

Chibi's eye snapped open out of their dreamy cloudiness as the cloud of fog was instantly dispelled by the force of some dark aura. Her motuh dropped open and Vyala's head came up as well. Dark Pulse...a sadistic attack, made for torturing and pain...Both trainer and Vulpix glanced into each other's eyes, each instantly knew that they were both thinking the same thing. Their heads turned in unison as Kalseng's laughed drifted over the crowds like a summer breeze.

"That was..." Chibi searched for the right words. "Odd and unexpected." She sighed, memories flying into her brain, she pushed them away and stole another glance at Vyala. "Very odd."

"Vul?" Vyala inquired, pointing her nose at Kalseng. The young man looked...different. Instead of that cocky attitude, he had a cold, furious air about him. His eyes blazed angrily at the Dusknoir, even as he asked if it was alright.

"I wonder what happened too." Chibi murmured to Vyala, frowning again and once again taking up that dreamy air that she had when she was lost in thought.

"How does he fare?" Isabelle smiled, looking up in amusement, "You think that's the worst I've seen?" She questioned shrilly, though it was true.

She looked out onto the battlefield. The fog from earlier had cleared, and Duscolops was twitching in pain. Further across the ravanged field, sat his Honchcrow, and further still, Kalseng. His face rivalved Satan's, and no doubt, hers had at least once as well. "It's like you have too much practice with this," She said, placing part of her bang behind her ear. She reached into her back pocket, pulling out the capsule that was home to Duscolops, and embiggened it in her right hand.

"Unfortunatly, this battle has gone too far, even by my standards." She took a deep breath, and raised her hand, Poke Ball as well, high into the air. "It would be inhumane if I allowed this battle to carry on, no doubt, Duscolops would love to completely murder that Honchcrow." She was speaking loud enough for the whole crowd to hear, if she was to surrender, it would at least be well-known. Her hand in the air, the two rings on glinting in the sun. The ovaline gold one with the symbol of the Battle Dome, and the emerald band, symbolizing her ranking as a Champion of Hoenn.

"So, at this time, I would like to formally surrender from the battle." Her voice was no longer cold, and uninviting, but rather, open, and somewhat demanding in respect. "Duscolops, come back for rest, you did well." She smiled, not a cold, battle smile, but a true, caring smile. Her teeth shone in the noontime sun. The Pokeballs light shone out, encased Duscolops, and he was returned.

"Now, for you..." She placed the Pokeball back into her pocket, and looked at Kalseng. "The fact that you would even dare to do such a thing, appauls me to such a high degree I can't even begin to explain! It's one thing to get into a battle, but to go so far as to try to murder another Pokemon? If I were an official, you would no doubt be disqualified. You're lucky I'm not, and, go to Hell." She smiled, made a subtle hand gesture, and walked out of the stadium.

Several people in the stands couldn't help but laugh, Cody included.

(H'okay, it's done. Kal, you need to post. And Brian, come back to life please? If it'll work, I was gonna put you 'n' Chibi for the next battle, if it doesn't, another character needs to be born.)

Kalseng casually cast his bangs to one side, his body acting in strange lurches. His face was contorted into a look of total and utter disgust and fury. "Coward," Kalseng spat between his teeth. "A hollow pokemon cannot die. It can only be reborn." Kalseng clutched the Dusk Ball tightly, the metallic shell creaking with tension. His Honchkrow shivered slightly, and cast a hesitant look over to its trainer. Kalseng quickly dropped his head, and his mind loosened. His face seemed to soften up, and he slouched again, his aura seemingly shrinking. He quickly cast his head upwards, and his slender fingers casually readjusted his bangs.

"Great job, Honchkrow!" Kalseng cheered, throwing a victorious fist in the air. "Chalk up another victory!" He happily thrust the Dusk Ball forward, and his pokemon cheerily flourished its wings, cawing in victory. A red beam shot out from the spherical device, enveloping his Honchkrow in a thin layer of light. It quickly retreated into the ball, and Kalseng walked off of the stage. Something on his right hand was irritating him, and he quickly adjusted the ring on his right hand.

"Freaking ring." Kalseng muttered. The announcer hesitantly approached him and placed a ticket in his hand.

"A-and," The announcer stuttered over the microphone, his voice echoing outwards. "The winner, by d-default, is K-Kalseng Audor, of Ch-Cherrygrove City..." The crowd sat in total silence, until a rogue cheer escaped a spectator, but it quickly died out. Kalseng quickly hustled to a spot where he thought his friends might be. As he walked up the stands, all eyes were on him. He quickly shuffled over next to Cody and zipped his Jacket up.

"Chilly..." Kalseng muttered, letting the silence overcome him.

"A-And the next competitors are..."

OOC: I'm alive 'n' well Cody, just waiting for the right moment.

BIC:

Brian took a deep sigh. It was finally over. He had been on the edge of his seat since Kalseng's dark half emerged, concerned for what he might do. Thankfully it all ended before anyone got hurt or Kal did something he'd regret when he returned to normal. It was actually quite amusing when Isabelle flipped off Kalseng as she made her exit. Brian couldn't help but laugh, even Cody found it entertaining.

"The winner, by d-default, is K-Kalseng Audor, of Ch-Cherrygrove City..." the Referee stuttered as Kal walked off the stage. The entire crowd was silent, stunned by the performance Kalseng had given. Brian started clapping hoping to get the spectators going but in the end he was alone.

"It was a good battle." Brian admit. He looked between Chibi and Cody seeing if they thaught the same.

"I agree. Who fights next?" Axel inquired. Brian leaned back in his chair to think for a minute. It seemed like forever since he saw the tournament bvlocks.

"A-And the next competitors are Brian and..." started the announcer.

"Us! Move it, move it monkey boy!" Brian interupted jumping out of his seat and making his way to the stage. "Who was my opponent again?" he stopped to think.

OOC: Are you my opponent Chibi or is it someone else?

((No. That's me))

Chibi and Vyala both laughed in unison at Isabelle's exiting words. It was true, and too funny. Chibi wiped her right eye and fought heroicly to stop giggling while Vyala's "laughter" died away into hoarse barks of amusement.

"A-and," the Referee's voice suddenly stuttered into the microphone, making both trainer and pokemon flinch at the unexpected noise. "The winner, by d-default, is K-Kalseng Audor, of Ch-Cherrygrove City..." The crowd was deathly silent after he spoke.

"It was a good battle," Brian commented, looking to Cody and Chibi for any signs of agreement.

"That is was," Chibi replied with a nod. The her voice dropped and Chibi spoke only to Vyala, "if the last intention wasn't murder." She sighed, "and I thought only I had a pokemon willing to do something like that." There was a growl of agreement.

"A-and the next competitors are Brian and Chibi." The Referee suddenly annouced.

"WAHOO!" Chibi suddenly screamed, rocketing out of her seat as if she had been sitting on a spring. She turned to head towards the stage and saw Kalseng coming back. "Oh Kalseng," she called, "you're wrong. A hollow pokemon can die. Trust me." Vyala yowled in agreement and tugged on Chibi's shoelaces with her teeth. "Oh I'm going," Chibi snapped and ran after Brian.

"Now who was my opponent again?" Brian suddenly asked, stopping.

"That reminds me of someone." Vyala remarked as the trainer/Fire pokemon duo made their way to the other trainer/Fire pokemon duo. Chibi would have aimed a playful kick at the fire fox if she wasn't running.

Chibi flew past Brian and clapped him on the shoulder. "That would be me pal!" She called back to him and didn't stop until she was in front of the machine Isabelle and Kalseng used to register their pokemon.

"So you are! My only request is that we make this battle fun for both of us." Brian said dramaticly throwing his right arm across the bottom of his ribcage and bowing. There's a time to be serious and a time to play, and a battle between friends is playtime.

Brian continued to the registration machine where he put in three Pokeballs. On the big screen came a picture of himself and beneath him the siluettes of Riolu, Piloswine, and Aerodactyl appeared.

"Hey! You're not using me?" Axel asked in annoyance. Brian put his arm around the Infernape's shoulder.

"If we beat Chibi, next round we fight Kalseng. I want you at your best for that match. However, if we loose, then I'll just get you a banana split at the ice cream shop, deal?" Brian whispered so only Axel would hear. The monkey nodded with an expecting grin on his face.

"Right then!" said Brian pulling away from their embrace. He walked up to the trainer platform Kal had been on moments ago readying a Pokeball in his hand. "Come Riolu!" Brian called summoning a small blue bipedal mammal with black feet, a black stripe across its eyes which looked like a mask, and steal plates on the back of its hands.

"Let the fun begin!" Brian cheered.

OOC: Just moving ahead abit so Chibi can start the battle ;)

(Ah. You made me change my last pokemon choice.)

"Ah you wish!" Chibi called back, bowing in return. Shorts were not a thing to curtsey in. She took out a Pokeball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball from her lime green vest. "In," she commanded simply, holding the red and white ball out to Vyala. The Fire pokemon gave her a withering look. "You have to be in a Pokeball to register." Chibi explained. Vyala's eyes clearly said, "this-is-some-kind-of-sick-joke-right?" There was a sigh from the trainer, and with a murmur about regretting this later, she suddenly opened the ball and Vyala yelped as she was absorbed into the device's abyss by a red beam. When the ball snapped back shut it began wriggling madly from the struggles of the pokemon inside.

"She's going to chew my head off for that." Chibi muttered to herself as she inserted the three balls into the machine. Instantly a pokemon's face inhabited the three circles next to a bigger circle that showed Chibi's face. The three empty spots now sported a Vulpix, Torterra, and Aerodactyl. (ooc: Cuz I wanna have an Aerodactyl duel damnit!)

Chibi took back her three pokeballs and followed Brian, splitting off to go to the other end of the field where the trainer Isabelle had commanded only minutes before. She noted that Brian didn't seem to use Axel. A shame, she had almost been hoping the Infernape and Vyala could get a chance to battle each other. She watched calmly as Brian called forth his first pokemon, a Riolu. She silently cursed, the merest frown showing her disappointment.

Damnit, she told bitterly, I can't use a large pokemon on this little guy. He could get behind Sapwood and Skydive easily by using his size and speed to his advantage. It really left her no choice. She held out a wriggling pokeball. She hated using her most powerful pokemon so early, but it was really her only option. "Let's go Vyala!" She called, throwing the pokeball high into the air. It split open and the great white light that it spat out hit the ground and formed into the fox-like pokemon that was so closely bonded with Chibi.

Vyala was not happy. Chibi saw the Vulpix's furious glare on her, and Chibi answered with what she hoped to be an apologetic grin. "It was only forty-three seconds!" She called to her pokemon. Vyala spat a few embers onto the ground. Suddenly the field changed, and the barren wasteland that Kalseng and Isabelle's pokemon dueled on now became what could have been the grassy expanse of a healthy meadow. Vyala sneezed from the grass that tickled her nose and stood up to avoid their irritating touch.

Chibi straightened her back and looked confidently at the battle field. "Vyala!" Her gleaming eyes matched her commanding and excited tone. "Quick Attack!" Vyala crouched down for a second, then shot off at an eye-popping speed. The reddish-orange blur streaked across the field, its collision course undoubtly the Riolu that was her opponent.

(OOC: Woot! I look foward to our aerial battle!)

Chibi sent out Vyala who looked pretty displeased to have been put inside her Pokeball. Must be a Fire-type trait, Axel hates that too. Brian thought.

"Vyala! Quick Attack!" Chibi suddenly commanded in excitement. The Vulpix dissapeared in an orange blur in direct route to Riolu.

"A test of speed is it?" Brian mused. "Use your own Quick Attack Rio!" The Emination Pokemon lunged foward becoming little more than a blueish-black blur. The speeding Pokemon crashed into eachother causing them to both bounce back, Riolu performing a mid air backflip and landing on three of his four limbs with his right arm out stretched for balance.

"Show off." Brian teased. Then his face became a little more serious, but only slightly. "Now, use Foresight!" Brian called. Riolu closed his eyes. The black appendages on the side of his head stood on end and began vibrating. Riolu was attempting to memorize Vyala's aura to make her easier to track.

(OOC: kinda short, I know. It's been awhile since I've had an RP battle.)

Chibi almost winced as the two pokemon collided in a mix of red, blue, and black. Vyala was thrown back but she twisted in the air in some impossible manuver that Chibi's eyes refused to accept and landed neatly on her paws. She looked slightly ruffled, but nothing to even give a second thought about.

"Now, use Foresight!" Chibi heard Brian's voice tell his Fighting pokemon.

What a smart one, Chibi thought to herself before retaliating. "Vyala, Double Team!" There a bark of confirmation and suddenly twelve identical six-tailed red fox-like pokemon burst forth, all yipping and running around. "If you want to learn Vyala's aura you gotta learn all of them!" Chibi called to Brian, she wondered if the Riolu could actually find the real Vyala, but all tweleve of their auras were the same.

"M'kay," Chibi began, then paused to think for a moment. "Confuse Ray," she ordered. Three of the Vulpix stopped and looked at Riolu;a yellow orbsurrounded by a blackish aura formed above their heads and shot towards the still Riolu.

(Gah. Short.)

"Well this could be troublesome. Do a barrel roll Riolu!" Brian called. The small Pokemon imediately broke from his trance and rolled out of harms way. Well almost. Riolu managed to dodge two of the beams of confusion, but practicly rolled into the third.

"That can't be good." muttered the trainer. "Riolu! I'm willing to bet that one of the Vyala that shot the Confuse Rays is the real one. Take your pick on which one feels righ to you and use Force Palm."

The Emination Pokemon decided to look from side to side instead. It's not like Riolu didn't hear his trainer's command, more like he was distracted by an invisible fly that decided to land on his nose causing it to wiggle. It didn't help matters when the young Pokemon smacked himself in the face to relieve himself of the nonexistant insect.

"Rio..." Brian sighed with his thumb and index finger gribbing the bridge of his nose between his eyes. As disapointing as the situation was, the young adult couldn't help but give a weak little chuckle. An invisible fly was definately a new one.

(OOC: I'm sure these will get longer...)

(Invisible fly ftw. XD )

Chibi couldn't help but chuckle at the antics of the confused Riolu, but she had to say something. "You're wrong Brian," she called across the the field. That was the beauty of clones, they could fire attacks while the real one could watch. But it wasn't like that mattered. One of the Vulpix gave a howl of victory as it hit its target, then joined the others in their insane running-around. She allowed her mouth to twist into an evil smirk, now it was time to really play with the poor thing.

"Okay, Vyala, two of you use Quick Attack and run around the Riolu, but don't hit it. Another one of you use Fire Spin, around the three of them." Her orders were quick and they were followed out just as quickly. Instantly two of the Vulpix rushed forward at a mirrored pace of Vyala before and split apart, circling the confused Riolu. The two Fire types were separated from the Emination pokemon by only a few feet, but the duo ran around their target, often stopping to yip and wriggle and continue in some kind of insane dance made purely for confusing their target even more.

Meanwhile, in the background, a third Vulpix straightened up and breathed very deeply, then breathed out a long tongue of bright fire. The flames rushed forward with the speed of an arrow and suddenly swerved into a circular path, surrounding the trio with a ring of fire. At first it was so low it only smoldered the grass, but with each new pass, the fire inched higher and higher.

(I'm so brilliant sometimes. Btw, that lil Fire Spin is still escapable, it's not that high.)

It was madness on the feild. Two Vulpix were running circles around the confused Riolu while a ring of fire was slowly rising around the small Pokemon. Brian put his right hand on his chin to devise an escape tactic. Then the metaphoric lightbulb went off.

"Riolu! Punch yourself in the face!" the trainer commanded. It was a gambit, but if it worked Riolu would either snap himself out of confusion or be confused enough to hit one of the tormenting Vulpix. The Emination Pokemon began flailing his fists like a drunk before tripping over his own feet. Riolu yelped in pain having fallen into the ever growing fire pillar.

"Focus young one! There are twelve Vulpix on the feild right now, use Swift to hit all of them!" Brian called. Riolu picked himself up off the ground and shook his head afew times to clear his daze. He closed his eyes to sense his surroundings. Once Riolu was comfortable with the situation, he created white energy stars in both his hands. The Emination Pokemon through the stars like shurikens at each of the Vulpixes hoping the copies would disapear leaving the real one behind.

(Had you used Ember I could have used Copycat to destroy the copies but meh.)

(But Fire Spin was more epic. Besides, Vulpix's ability prevents Fire attacks from harming it)

Chibi couldn't help but laugh at Brian's first command, yet in a way, it made sense. How confusing......wow what a pun. She heard a yelp as the Riolu strayed a little too close to the walls of his ever growing fire prison. Then she heard Brian second and infinetly more tactful command and her smile disappeared quickly.

Golden stars of energy swirled through the air, it hit the two Vulpix that were closest to the Riolu, they flickered like a bad hologram then instantly disappeared. Another streaked across the field and hit the Vulpix using Fire Spin right in the head, the same thing happened, but the circle of fire still remained. All around the field the many golden stars were doing their work, and the Vulpix were quickly fading. A particular one turned to a large star heading for it, opened its mouth, and shot a barrage of red-hot embers at it. The two connected in mid-air and the star exploded with a loud bang and a cloud of smoke. The last two Vulpix were hit and they, like their fake copies, disappeared, leaving the unharmed Vulpix left on the field.

"Nice one Brian," Chibi complemented her foe across the field, she could barely see him of the wall of fire. Very suddenly, she had an idea. Such an idea that she laughed out loud. Vyala gave her a glare that said if it was something that she didn't like, Chibi was going to regret it. "Fine, I won't. But it would've worked." She called back. "Flamethrower." She then said, Vyala whirled to face the Riolu and opened her mouth, a much bigger cone of fire than the Fire Spin exploded out and scroched the grass underneath it, heading for the Emination pokemon like an arrow.

(Right. I forgot about Flash Fire)

Brian looked pleased with the results of his little manuver. All the illusions had been ripped apart leaving only one Vulpix behind. It wasn't hard to figure out this one was real, this was the only Vulpix that attempted to defend itself.

"Nice one Brian!" his opponent complented.

"Why thank you Miss Chibi. Vyala has been doing an excellent job of keeping Riolu on his toes." Brian said returning the complement. Now came the problem of freeing the young Pokemon from Fire Spin. At the moment the flames were still low enough that he could escape but not unharmed. In a few more moments escape would be impossible.

Brian's concentration was breifly broken when he heard Chibi order Vyala to use Flamethrower. The Fox Pokemon fired (pun intended) a long stream of Fire at Riolu. It was almost perfect.

"Riolu! Jump into the Flamethrower!" Brian called. The Emination Pokemon looked a bit dubious about his trainer's request, but Riolu trusted him enough not to intentionally get him hurt and did as told. As soon as the blazing inferno ripped through Riolu's prison of fire, he jumped into the attack getting carried out of the Fire Spin and dumped on a patch of scorched earth when the Flamethower faded.

"Are you ok Rio? You're not burned are you?" the trainer asked in concern. Riolu slowly got up and inspected himself. He gave a nod indicateing he was fine. "Good." Brian responded. This was tricky. Riolu was more adapt to close range fighting, while the Vulpix could easily attack from a distance. Chibi sure made an excellent call on this one. Brian snapped his fingers have come up with a solution.

"We're going to turn this around right now Riolu! Use Screech, then while Vyala is off guard, run in with Reversal!" Brian commanded. The Emination Pokemon nodded in compliance. He inhaled deeply before letting out and ear shattering scream.

(Long post! Woot! I'll let you auto Riolu coming in with Reversal because I don't know how Vyala or Chibi will react to the screech)

((Will do.))

Chibi was surprised, to say the least, when Brian had just ordered his pokemon to jump into the oncoming attack. The burning, harmful, scorching attack that was meant to cause harm. Chibi frowned one of those tiny frowns that just looked as if her eyebrows were changing their postion, as a flash of blue was the only indication that the pokeon had indeed followed its trainer's orders. Only when she saw the Fighting pokemon stagger out of the greedy flames of the fire with wisps of smoke curling off his fur Chibi realised the blunder she made. Vyala's Flamethrower had broken a link in the wide circle of the Fire Spin, thus allowing the Riolu to escape.

While she was deducing how her plan failed, loud screech tore at her eardrums with rusty claws. Her brain was stabbed with pain and somewhere she heard Vyala howl in agony. She opened her eyes and saw the poor Fox pokemon with her front paws over her ears, attempting to block out the horrible sound. Chibi snapped her fingers in front of both ears, as to make sure she hadn't been deafened, and blinked as she tried to collect her wits and launch a counterattack. But obviously, it was apparent that Brian had given his Riolu two orders, for no sooner than Vyala had began to recover than the bipedal pokemon rushed forward, his fist pulled back into a punch. There were no distinguishing traits of this particular attack, making it all the more not something Chibi would like.

"Vyala!" She called, "dodge it!" The pokemon's ears twtched, and the Vulpix's head raised, then looked at her trainer inquisitively. The look in her eyes told Chibi that Vyala had heard something, but was wondering if that was Chibi who made the sounds. Chibi sighed and looked up and almost choked when she saw how fast the gap between Vyala and the Riolu had thinned. She made a desperate sideways motion with her hands, causing Vyala's eyes to widen in alarm and turn to face her opponent, who was now only ten feet in front of her. With a bark of alarm, Vyala turned and tried to jump out of the way, and almost succeded. Almost.

Her postion had moved so quickly that the Riolu barely had time to change his direction, but he was able to land the punch, but he had managed to graze Vyala's side rather than hit her full on. The attack didn't hit full force, but the force was immediate. The Fire pokemon yelped in alarm as she spun in multiple barrel rolls and even a mix of a front flip and barrel roll before her back it the ground. She did one last roll before sliding to a stop. Chbi stood rooted to the spot, staring at her pokemon. She swore she could almost see the imaginary swirly lines replacing the Vulpix's eyes. Just as she was about to think that Vyala had somehow been knocked out, the red-brown lump moved and hauled itself unsteadily to its feet. Vyala stumbled like a drunkard for a moment, before balancing herself and shaking her head to clear it.

"Vyala?" Chibi called uncertainly, the Vulpix's head raised immediatly and looked at her, showing that somehow the extreme aerial stunts through the air had somehow unclogged her ears. Chibi sighed with relief when she also saw Vyala's eyes getting sharper, fighting off the dizziness. "Right Vyala! Time to regain the upper hand! Extrasensory!" Vyala confirmed this command by facing the Riolu, who had recently skidded to a stop. Her eyes closed for a moment, before reopening to show that they were clouded over with an almost white-grey film. An uneasy aura formed around the place, causing Chibi to shuffle her feet nervously. She never got used to the events preceding the Psychic attack. Suddenly, she flinched as some primal instinct in her brain went off in alarm, informing her of some unseen attack directed at the Riolu.

(Wh00t! Long post!))

"Well done Rio!" Brian complemented as Riolu finished his Reversal. It may have not hit full on as hoped, but the move did its job. For a moment Brian thaught he had won, that is until Vyala got back to her feet.

"Right Vyala! Time to regain the upper hand! Extrasensory!" Chibi called. Brian was completely taken back. So she had been holding back her best move all this time. The area around the stage began to get heavy with an otherworldly energy.

"Riolu! Endure!" Brian commanded urgently. Riolu nodded in agreement having sensed the changing currents himself. The Emination Pokemon crossed his arms infront of his chest as if to block an incoming attack. A faint blue aura surrounded his body as he braced himself for the incoming attack.

Then suddenly Riolu was sent foward by some unseen force. He slid on his belly a good two or three feet before abruptly stopping. The young Pokemon slowly picked himself off the ground panting heavily from fatigue. There was no denying it, this was it for the Emination Pokemon. One more attack and he was done.

"Hang in there just a little longer Rio." Brian pleaded. "Use Force Palm on Vyala!" Riolu balled up his right hand into a fist and began concentrating the last of his strength into it until his fist began glowing a pale blue. When he was ready, Riolu opened his fist and prepared to slam his palm into the Vulpix that was his opponent.

(Hit or miss, survive or not, Riolu faints next turn)

Chibi's eyebrows shot up at the final command put out by Brian. So the wily guy had some more cards to play still. She watched as the blue pokemon was flung into the air by Vyala's attack and landed on the ground, sliding a few feet on his stomach before stopping. Ouch... Chibi sympathised, wincing. Then, after some encouragement from his trainer, the Riolu then rushed forward with Force Palm. She had been wondering if Brian was going to use the rather popular move that the Lucario family had shed a lovely light on.

"Okay, time for a little deja vu here! Vyala, bum rush him with Payback!" Chibi shouted back, earning a sigh from the Vulpix. This is going to hurt. The Fox pokemon had been thinking before she shot off.

The crash was inevitable, the Riolu slammed his palm into Vyala's chest the same time Vyala released the Payback built up from the Reversal. The effect was immediate, for both pokemon were thrown back by the force of the others atack. The Riolu was undoubtly out, and Vyala's muscles trembled as she tried to get up. Chibi called Vyala back into her Pokeball, then released her battered friend at her feet. "Here," Chibi whispered, kneeling down and placing a berry in front of Vyala's nose. With difficulty, Vyala munched on it and began feeling her strength return as she swallowed.
